I come here for the lunch buffet all the time. I much rather come here than go to the Indian restaurant in Evans. The wait staff kept my drink full. The restrooms were clean. I enjoyed everything on the buffet. The naan never ran out when I was getting food, which is important to me because I love naan.

This restaurant is EXCELLENT from waking in to walking away full and satisfied! I eat at Taj in Augusta and am so excited that they expanded to Aiken! Service is always fast and friendly and right on point. The food is fresh and hot and perfectly cooked. You won't regret going in to dine with them.

Nice people serving wonderful cuisine. Aiken is somewhat of a culinary desert for folks who have lived in big cities, and Taj is an oasis. So happy we suspended our steam table/buffet disbeliefs just enough to try lunch there today. Fresh and flavorful.

I have been here twice. The first time was for lunch, i personally recommend the lunch special that offers a main dish, Naan, soup, rotti, dessert, some type of salad, sides, and a glass of wine. One negative, the wine is a choice of white or red. I got the red and it was syrupy sweet. I suggest adding a dry red, because a lot of people don't care for sweet wines. Tonight I went for dinner. My friend and I had the meat samosas, garlic Naan, lamb saag, and chicken madras. How could garlic naan not be good? It did not dissapoint! The meat samosas were freshly prepared flaky fried dough and a delectable blend of spices in a ground meat filling. We got both dishes medium heat, from mild, medium, or hot options. Medium was the perfect level for me, and i generally like pretty spicy, but am wise enough not to get torch-your-mouth. Both dishes were excellent and i have had a good variety of Indian cuisine. I look forward to dining here, again.

Coming across Taj Aiken while walking in downtown Aiken was a pleasant surprise. Even better was the food on the lunch buffet. There is a variety, with regular and vegan offerings. There is also salad and desert. I tried small portions of everything and found it quite tasty. I’ll certainly be back.

My husband and I absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. The staff was super polite and attentive, our drinks were refilled without us noticing. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and my husband ordered the chicken Vindaloo. The food exceeded our expectations and it was definitely worth the drive from Columbia. We will return.

I have never been treated so wonderfully before in my life.. and the food is to die for. While dining here with our two children our tire went flat... The manager was Uber poliet he even came out and asked us if we needed help putting on our spare while my husband was putting on the tire he offered my kids a lovely mango ice cream dessert but they didn't like it so he brought them regular ice cream. The environment here is relaxed and tranquil. And did I mention the food. I will never forget my experience here and that sweet sweet man. If I could rate it with more stars I would. 1,000,000 stars ...

Good place to grab a bite. I've had better Indian food in both Augusta and Columbia, but if you dont want to drive that far this is not bad. Gave it 3 stars because they brought out our appetizers after our main course.

I keep trying different things every time I eat at Taj Aiken, and have yet to find anything that disappoints. I finally tried the lunch buffet, and, instead of having one or two magical dishes, I had ten! I could, quite literally, throw a dart at the menu and eat whatever it hits - and be thoroughly satisfied with my dining experience. The service is worth strong commendation, as well - at once friendly and warm, and courteous and professional.

Food: quite good, flavorful and authentic (and they give you a lot of it). It took a while to get it to the table, but I think it's because it was prepared well with fresh ingredients. They adjusted the spiciness level to my liking. Venue: simple, a little dated, but quiet and serviceable. The bathroom is in the adjoining hotel lobby and is in serious need of updates. Service: friendly and diligent.

Wasn't sure which location to review, because it shows up twice on google maps, so I'm posting in both places. This is the best indian food I've ever eaten. I've been going here more frequently recently and it's always so good. Try the Chicken Korma, Tikka Masala, or Rogan Josh.

Best ever Malai Cofta...I have searched everywhere to find decent Malai with no prevail...I’ve tried every Indian food from here all the way to Atlanta and NOTHING compares to this...I almost cried it was so good lol veggie samosas were amazing as well! Waiters were very kind and attentive It was all around a wonderful experience! The only downside is now I’ll have to drive 2.5 hours to get awesome Indian food

Amazing I recommend the Taj Biryani and mango lasi lwas delicious my favorite is the meat samosas only part I wish there was more than 3 little ones they are so yummy staff could be more attentive to things like plate settings silverware or a extra napkin still where very nice owner was there it's nice to see owners and managers out in the floor in restaurants hard to find these days . I will return probably weekly it's huge portions on the entrees they don't cut corners I wouldn't want to go anywhere else and the noan bread!!!!!!Oh my the best.

Yay, a great Indian restaurant only 5 minutes away. Exactly what Aiken needs. Great experience overall. Management came over and asked about our meal. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The food tasted great from the appetizers to the main courses, rice and naan to our dessert. Loved that we could walk across the lobby to get alcohol for our meal. A wonderful night. Can't wait to return!

Taj of Aiken has opened in their new location!. It has been well worth the wait. They have an expanded menu and the food is delicious. They are on Richland ave a few doors down from the Holley Inn. Just head toward Newberry St and on the right side just before you get to Newberry street is the new location.

Lunch buffet was flavorful with a good variety ( vegan options) and includes dessert. Friendly staff. Personally, I'll admit I've had better Indian food elsewhere. However, this is a very suitable option for Aiken and I would recommend.

I got the chicken tiki masala to go. The dish was ok not great. Plus when your your dish to go you really only paying for the sauce and rice which I truly liked but very small amount of chicken. The Nan bread was good. However for the dinner price 15. 79 which I feel is rather over priced. I would go back again to try a different dish. They also have a wine collection but also cheap wine that is over priced. Now remember I went at 7pm. Very nice people that take your order. My dish came out rather fast so not much wait time. Next time is go in time for the buffet which is only 9.99.

I agree with others. We traveled regularly to Augusta for various cuisines including the 3 or 4 choices for Indian food. Aiken was clearly lacking ethnic choices and having the TAJ here is a really great outcome. i really hope that there is sufficient local interest to maintain it -- the food is very good and varied.

Easily Vegan Friendly BEST meal I have had in a restaurant this year. I travel frequently for my charity work and could eat anywhere I want. I drove 2 hours round trip because they have several vegan options and have a reputation for great taste. I got the buffet that had several vegan options (Naan is not vegan). Good flavor and vegetable combinations. The food quality is good-the vegetables cooked to perfection and fresh. Omnivore visitors with us enjoyed their vegan meals, too. We were a group of 20 plus their normal Saturday lunch crowd. The buffet was kept well stocked and clean. Service was friendly and cheerful. I NEVER give 5 stars because 99.9% of the restaurants I would not care if I ever visited again. THIS WAS GOOD FOOD and was SO EASY to eat vegan. I will be driving that 2 hour round trip again soon!

I had never tried Indian food before going to this restaurant. I had always been nervous about the spice level, which is not too much of a concern at this restaurant, gladly. I first tried this place about a month ago, and I've been back three times since, if that gives you any idea about how much I like this place... I was pleasantly surprised, when I tried the lunch buffet, which, today, included (among other things) naan bread, rice, fried spinach, onion bargies, and many different types (about 6) of assorted curries. The tandoori chicken wings are awesome! And, today, part of the lunch buffet included rice pudding and mango pudding, and this was the absolute best rice pudding I have ever had! The rice pudding included pistachios, cashews , and one of the best sweet spice blends that I have ever tasted! You can pull up the restaurant's daily lunch buffet on their website; it changes daily. If they have rice pudding on the menu, that is definitely one of the days I would choose to come and try this wonderful hidden gem. This is one of my new favorite places to eat. ❤
