Went here for brunch, food was pretty good, lots of options, loved the tomato salad, and Oreo desert. Just wish they had options for people who don't eat pork (the did cook us a steak with was very nice but still would have loved a chicken/turkey option) also no gluten free option for deserts.

The food was wonderful and our server was great. We had a real issue, however, in that the restaurant allowed us to make a 1:45 pm reservation without informing us that they break down the buffet (the only menu option) at 2:00. Our meal was to celebrate an important event (daughter's college graduation) with extended family. We heard complaints from other patrons in the restaurant that they shared our experience. This could have been avoided by the reservations taker. With the excellent dining choices Charleston has to offer, it is unlikely we will return to Stars.

Good food and service but a little more money than I was expecting to spend. It was good but not sure if it was almost $200 good for two people. Portions of food are a bit on the smaller size and wasn't filling. Rooftop bar was about $10.00 a drink.

Atmosphere was awesome. Restaurant was elegantly set up inside. We were visiting on a girls' trip. We had reservations on a friday evening and were seated immediately. Food was decent- not spectacular but good. I have to say Sullivan was the best waitress any of us have had in a while. Great hospitality, great service. After dinner we enjoyed the rooftop bar which was packed but fun. Overall nice experience. We will definitely be back if we return to Charleston!

We went for Sunday brunch and didn't know it was buffet style only. I'm not a fan of buffets but I gave it a go. The food was okay for it to be buffet style. The shrimp and grits were the best thing served. Our waiter wasn't good. He forgot our drinks after being reminded 3 times. But overall not a horrible experience but definitely not the best I've received from downtown Charleston.

Stars is such a fun and amazing time everytime I go. Food is delicious and staff is amazing. Chef Adam sent us out a complimentary appetizer sampler. The bartenders are always a pleasure. The attentiveness of Nick, Jree, Rochelle, Virginia, Bud and Carlos is parallel to none!

went here for bachelorette party. found it strange they don’t serve bread or anything prior like 99% of most restaurants that are this style, but didn’t bother me. apps were good (mussels and calamari). bacon fries tasted like fast food. the ac was either not working or they don’t use one downstairs. the second floor was cool but first floor was seriously sweating balls where we rushed out after dinner not finishing our food because of it. the salmon was extremely under cooked, one person liked their steak, one person liked their red snapper, everyone hated their lobster fettuccine (the lobster had really bad pieces in it and it was extremely dry - nothing like fettuccine), and the chicken was sub par. i would never recommend this place. it was busy, the roof top looked cute but we found so many better ones in charleston and folly beach. this only got 2 stars because the mussels had a great sauce .otherwise it would have been less.

Perfect place for the occasion - two sides of family from opposite coasts together during the Holidays. I would recommend the steak and truffle fries (...or do as I did and order two plates of the truffle fries “for everyone to share” but outpace your newfound rivals/family

The food and service were both incredible. The restaurant was very clean and allowed for upscale dining or a more casual feel. Our waiter, Raymond, was super friendly and helpful not only with dealing with food allergies, but also with other dinner (restaurant) options, tours to go on, things to do, places to see, etc.. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or anyone visiting the area. Family and I went here one night while on vacation and were blown away. Bathrooms were also clean!!

Rob gave us amazing service.We were celebrating my Citadel Cadet earning his ring, and he even congratulated him and expressed what a great accomplishment it is to wear the ring. I came in with my mom for a lunch and the food was delicious. We had the truffle fries, risotto and the vegetable napolean. The best part of our experience was our waitor ,Raymond. Not only was he very attentive but he went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable. I was celebrating a recent engagement and he gave us a complimentary dessert and drinks. He was absolutely wonderful and would recommend coming here for a good time and excellent food .

We ate in the dining room on the main floor. Our waiter Chris was very attentive and offered great suggestions from appetizers through to dessert. Our food came out at a nice pace and was absolutely delicious. They were out of the wine I had chosen so Chris brought me a couple selections to taste so that I could pick another. I dine out a lot and have to say that he was probably one of the best waiters I have come across.

Was in town for the weekend and went to a few bars. Stars by far had the worst customer service I’ve ever had at a bar. Bar was way overcrowded and the bartenders made us wait for 15-20 minutes while ignoring us. Waited patiently and they still never served us anything so we left the bar. Meanwhile after telling us they see us, the never returned and helped people just coming up. if you go to Charleston and want to go to a bar I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re a girl with a nice rack to get served. Not really upset after the visit, As an employee of a small business, I just believe that it’s bad policy for a bar to do that. I never leave reviews but decided to break my streak after my visit here. Hopefully they can change the atttidues of their employees. Thank you

Nice spot for our last meal before leaving Charleston. I had surf and turf with the ribeye and the steak was really good. A little over done for a medium for me, but delicious. Also came with smashed potatoes and asparagus which were really good. The lobster tail was cooked well, would of been nice to have some melted butter. The pluff mud pie was really tasty for dessert. The drinks were on point....

We came with our class of 21. We made reservations 3 days before and they knew we were coming when we arrived I guess our server wasn't Emily wasn't happy with our appearance. She was rude and when I said "ma'am may I have a happy hour menu" her response was "I would if you'd give me a minute ". That is just one of many rude comments that she had for me and my coworker. She told another person there is only one of me and 21 of u. We weren't rushing her we knew we were a large party we were just asking for menus. We had a reservation and they knew we were coming but didn't prepare at all for our arrival. When we posted an honest review regarding our experience, the manager came to our table and asked us to change it so the server would not be fired. I have never had an experience like this in my life and I won't be going back.

We decided to go here for brunch after a strong recommendation from our friend. We spent four days here and this was the best meal I had. While Hank's, Henry's and Magnolia's were great, this meal was fantastic. I tried just about everything and it was all amazing. The sausage was the best I've ever had. The French toast seemed to melt in my mouth. My wife raved about the house-cured salmon and the fruit was fresh and sweet. Absolutely incredible. Then there was the desserts! Wow! This was a magnificent meal and the staff was very friendly and attentive - especially Sullivan. I very highly recommend checking out this brunch. You won't be disappointed.

Really good food. Drink menu didn’t have much of a variance it was all beachy drinks pretty much. Ambiance of the place was sub par. We were mislead, thinking we could eat on the roof. Went in to celebrate an anniversary, not very romantic inside- there was a women wearing workout clothes on a Sunday evening. It was underwhelming. So many great places in Charleston not sure if I would go back.

The smoked Ribeye steak grilled to perfection on a wood fired grill is one the best steak in Charleston and priced at $38.50 including 2 sides it was a bargain. Housemade apple crisp dessert rocked.

We enjoyed a drink (or 2) before dinner at another location. I found the Bobby E Jones to be wonderful! The ambiance was nice but the setting sun did provide some added heat. The bartenders were nice & good at what they were doing. We returned after dinner for a few more drinks before going dancing elsewhere & it was PACKED. At this point, it was unenjoyable as you couldn't move or get to the bar. But about 20 min later it had died down some to a manageable crowd to deal with.

The downstairs setting is fairly formal and the waitstaff is dressed nicely, but service was slow and not terribly attentive. Pricey and the food was average. Granted, I got seafood instead of steak, however $34 for an average plate of risotto with four scallops and no starter salad is pretty outrageous. I did like the tap wine. Rooftop bar was just loud and made for those under 30. With so many other great places in Charleston, my advice is to skip this one.

Top tier food with an active night scene and great rooftop few. Pro tip, make reservations for a later dinner, then stay for the dance party. You will avoid the line which forms rapidly outside. The security is also professional and helpful and creates a safe environment for your evening.

I Chose Stars for my wife’s 29th birthday. They were very accommodating and held my reservation when we were 20 minutes late. The service by Rob was outstanding. We all enjoyed his descriptions of every dish and our mouths were watering after he described all our choices. The food was delectable. I would recommend the ribeye steak, and the mushroom bruschetta as an appetizer. Didn’t have room for dessert but I can only assume it is tasty as well. Also the music was lively and upbeat. Reminded me of the guardians of the galaxy soundtrack which everyone loves.

The restaurant had good food, but seemed very loud though it was a busy night. Had to have food remade because it had something in it we asked to have removed, not a big issue. The biggest issue of the night was the rooftop bar. It was advertised as a great 360 view, but they had plants around the whole bar that almost completely blocked the view all the way around.

I came here for New Year’s Eve dinner. We had a reservation but the table wasn’t ready. They told us to go up to the rooftop and they would text us if the table would become free earlier or to then come down at our reservation time. We came down when our reservation was supposed to be, but the table still wasn’t ready. It was New Year’s Eve, so honestly we didn’t mind waiting. When we finally sat down, we were served the menus and water immediately. The server was very attentive and very helpful. The food was also very delicious. The red wine selection was not that big, but don’t expect much from a grill restaurant. The rooftop was packed as it was nye. The drink selection was pretty small for specialty cocktails. They had a lot of bottled and canned beer and a few on tap. Also a lot of liquor. Otherwise, I’m sure you could just order simple drinks and get charged a high price.

While visiting in Charleston we decided to go to Star Rooftop Restaurant. We ordered appetizers and wine. The food presentation was very nice and the wine was excellent. Prices are average. Bathrooms were clean. Since the evening was so cold, the rooftop was enclosed. The atmosphere was busy upstairs, however, there was no music at the rooftop. The average age was 20s - 30s. The music was on the 1st floor and it started at 11:30 pm. Unfortunately, the D.J. did not show up. The manager had to quickly get a back up and it all worked out well.

Was brought here on a date and did not know about this place before going. I had the salmon, it was seasoned to perfection, The potatoes were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. I had good wine and a good time. A little chilly for the rooftop but people were in the bar area up there so it was warmer. Will def be returning. Nice location. Beautiful spot for sunset viewing. Signature cocktails were good. Sadly, no food available on the rooftop area. That is too bad. You could serve small nibbles on unbreakable recyclable dishes at the very least. Quite a few people wanted something to nibble on with their cocktails. It's important to have food in your stomach when imbibing. Hopefully, management will rethink this.

Food is great, staff are all very friendly, and the atmosphere is amazing. I recommend Stars for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it seemed every table around us was also there for a “special occasion,” so no efforts were made by the restaurant to celebrate with us. I recommend going to Hall’s across the street if you want to truly celebrate.

This was the worst experience of my life. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years so I’m a little lenient when I walk into a busy restaurant. There were 3 of us and we were greeted right away by the host. She told us it would be about a 5-10 minute wait because they had a couple big parties be seated a few minutes before we arrived. Ok, that’s understandable. We sat at the bar and the service there was great. We get seated at a table and the server comes over right away to tell us the specials. He then walked away to give us time to decide. 10 minutes later he comes back to take our order - kind of a long time but I figured he was a little busy taking orders from the big parties. An hour goes by, we don’t have our food and our server hasn’t been back to check on us or tell us our food would be out soon. My friend got up and told the waiter we still hadn’t received our food and asked if it would be much longer. The waiter went over to the kitchen and then came to our table to tell us our ticket was next and it should only be a couple more minutes. We timed it, 7 minutes later and we still hadn’t received our food. We let the waiter know we were upset and a manager DID NOT come over to speak with us. We left and told the host we would not be back again and her response was, “oh, I’m so sorry.” She didn’t ask why and didn’t try to better our experience. This was probably the worst service I’ve ever received.

Before I ate there I called to make sure they were still participating in Restaurant Week. The hostess said yes and read off a few items from the special menu. I arrived and got a metered parking spot right in front. After I was seated I told the server what I wanted and she said that the special menu was no longer available. I told her that it was confirmed by another employee and several advertisements. She told me again I was wrong and I said to go check with someone. She asked the manager and he came to my table with the special menu apologizing for any miscommunication. Would have been nice to get an offer of a free drink or something. Otherwise the food and service were good. Beautiful wood and leather interior.

I took a lady down here last night, started at the bar very attentive staff got me set up w/ drink in record time for downtown. Then got to our table and show started. Raymon made it a memorial experience. Hands down the best service iv had in the past 5 years. By the time the fire roasted marshmallow hit the table beautiful screamed "don't touch it" as she began her Insta photo shoot to show all the other girls exactly what they were missing. Cant wait to be back!

I went here only for the roof top bar, it was very trendy but I've got to say it was just missing something. I think it was more that I wasn't happy with thier prices for non-well drinks. Even though I suppose they are consistent with the area around them. Roof top was most certainly trendy but the appeal wore off quickly for me.

Absolutely love the atmosphere, design,and offerings of Stars. Whether you want a cocktail, great top shelf selection, or draft wine, Stars has your flavor. Their weekend brunch, yes both Sat and Sun, is the best buffet value in town. When you're done with dinner and drinks, save room for their plentiful desserts that are highlighted by the Pluff Mud Pudding.

Happy hour doesn't happen at the rooftop bar, and the idea of that combo is what brought me up (to be fair I didn't read the web site closely enough, came here after googling "rooftop happy hour", a search for which this place comes up). But the sunset view is nice enough. I didn't eat anything.

Stars is a fantastic spot to meet for drinks or a meal. I've only gone for their Sunday brunch, but the spread is delicious. French toast, eggs Benedict, eggs, sausage, bacon, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, fruit, mini desserts, and smoked salmon can all be found at their brunch. Worth the $25/person price tag for the quality and quantity that's available.

A bit of a mixed bag. We were able to get a same-day reservation for a large party for Fri night which was convenient but perhaps a sign. Service was decent but food was very slow to arrive and the entrees were a bit hit or miss. Steaks were average, pasta was good, pork was tasty but overcooked. Bottle of white wine arrived unchilled. Everything was OK, but not great.

I wouldn’t recommend for dinner for large groups/bachelorette parties, here’s why: The restaurant was running 45 minutes late for our reservation. We had a 9:45 pm Friday reservation so we didn’t get seated until 10:30 pm. By the time we were finished eating, the DJ/dance floor had started 20 feet away. The restaurant was at capacity when we arrived, so we had to wait in a line outside for about 20 minutes, even though we had a reservation. After 30 minutes waiting, I asked the host stand about our table, and if they could work with us on something since we’d been waiting for so long, I was told “we’ve already talked with half of your party about this” and “sorry but we can’t make people leave from your table”. I didn't think this response showed much hospitality. I will say that the manager was apologetic and gave us two bottles of champagne and a couple of appetizers. The food was fine - not fantastic, not terrible. Overall I was pretty unhappy with the experience and felt terrible that my entire group of friends were starving and waiting for 45 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you're on a timeline for a trip. Leaving this review because I wish I would've known this was a possibility when I made the reservation.

I really enjoyed this place. But I do recommend making reservations if possible because weekend nights there will be a line to wait. The food was delicious I enjoyed the calamari it was crispy and it was drizzled in hot sauce. The purple lemonade was my favorite drink. Very sweet. But it did contain alcohol in it.

Long wait for a table so we ate at the bar. No biggie because we like sitting at the bar typically. Ribeye was one of the best I've ever had. I'm not a tater tot fan but my boyfriend made me try them. Mind blowing. I like a little more interaction with my bartenders and I don't think that was their thing but still made tasty cocktails. Can't wait to go back!

Food is absolutely amazing! Didn't try a bad thing on the menu. Truly enjoyed app, the steak and dessert! Ask to be seated in Sullivan's section! She is absolute sweetheart and you'll fall in love with her amazing personality. Can't wait to visit Charleston again just to go Stars and see Sullivan.
