The food was good. The price seems great until you get charged so much drinks and coffee, then the price is about the same as anywhere else for a meal. I'd bump it up if the wait time to get service once seated didn't take as long, but in fairness, the place was busy. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.

Can't say enough about this Orangeburg institution. I travel from NY and I will not return until I go to Shoney's. The restaurant is showing it's age but the food and staff are grest. I also appreciate the green fluff, I love this stuff. I love this place.

The last several times the evening service was just terrible. Tonight, I left before I became angry. The table was dirty and wet from the last guests. My server was a no show after several minutes and everyone seemed occupied. I just told the hostess I changed my mind.

worst Host/Waitress. I Went there for my Birthday. Host told us to set where ever we like. She was busy looking out the window watching the aftermath of a wreck. I waited at a booth for a few minutes then went to wash my hands. On my way out the bathroom she was coming in, and choose to ask me at that time what will my table have to drink? I told her that I would have to ask. Once at the table, our dishes piled up, and I had to go to the register to ask for an item on the desert menu. The same host came to the register and informed me that they were out of desert items because there was no icecream. At that point one of the cooks came out and I spoke with her and she informed me that there is strawberry pie available and that she can whip me up one. When she brought out my pie I tipped the cook $10.00 dollars and told her I appreciated her. Paid my bill and left.

I realize it was after 9 and will close soon, but no excuse for sorry service. Ask for water with lemon she went on to do a couple of other task then tells me " no lemon" No problem . Later returns with water never saw again. Will not be back.

Whenever I come to visit family, my first dinner is from here. The employees are very courteous. The food falls in the category of old fashioned home cooking. Overall the combination of good food, quality service, and comfortable atmosphere, Shoney's deserves the 5 stars I'm giving them.

If I could I would give it zero stars. The breakfast is amazing but the Sunday dinner is terrible. If your going to say homestyle dinner then serve it. One women was scrubbing above the bar while it was still food under it. The place has a bad smell. One waiter heated up food in the microwave instead of having it prepared fresh. Lastly there is a small selection of food choices and its not even that good. Also the floor was very disgusting and had food all over it when the broom was sitting on the wall right next to it. And where is the manager. But what I can say is the waiters and waitress are very kind and do their best to make your experience enjoyable.

I said to myself I would not go back here..either my morning was just that bad or the service was actually suck..my friend and I felt some kind of way when we first got there sitting us all the way in the back away from everyone and the bar not to mention..on top of that the only time the server came to check on us was to slap the check on the table..I spoke to the manager and although she gave me half off our meal I feel like she was more concerned with telling us how good her staff was and how many people speak good about their food rather than correcting what was in her face at that time...I was going to pay the whole ticketbc I didnt want her to feel like we wanted a free meal.Truth be told I could have cooked a meal.for 6 people for under $26 that was shocking

Stopped by here on Sunday afternoon for some dinner. Not enough options on the buffet bar, but what was available was decent. Establishment is old and dated. Air was not working too well. Long wait for drink refills and pick up of dirty plates.

I was at Shoney's today and it was not good. First of all, people were standing on a line by the buffet waiting for plates 3 or 4 different times. Food ( eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles) kept running out and again people had to stand there waiting. I dont know if they were short of help in the kitchen but when 5 or 6 people are waiting for plates, and they bring out about only 10, back to being out again, something is wrong with that picture. This was a Monday morning.

When we first went in we were not greeted by hostess. She was talking to a waitress & waited until she was done complaining about something to acknowledge us. The waitress was very nice but the buffet looked horrible. All the food was dried out and looked bad. We had to leave, it was all unappealing. We wanted fresh hot food & they didn't have it. We will not return to this Shoneys again. They need to do BETTER.

Would give lower score if able. Shoney's use to be 1 of the best places in Orangeburg to eat. Service was poor, the restaurant was extremely hot. The food bar was spared and not plates. Really sad.

This storied location has taken an extreme and troubling nose dive. My family and I came here at 9am on a Sunday morning. We had to wait 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken and even before we were given utensils. Kayla, our server, did her best. I ordered a egg white spinach omelet off of the menu, only to find out that spinach was not available...at least the mushroooms/tomatoes subbed turned out yummy. The buffet was constantly out of key foods like grits, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The pancakes were rock hard and the bacon was wet and dripping if greasy, not crispy at all. Ordered blueberry muffins, but, when I didn't get them, was told at check out "we don't have Blueberry Muffins." Wow. I'm sorry. As much as I eaten at Shoney locations in my life, I would not suggest coming here for breakfast at least until they improve.

The best full breakfast I ever had! I wanted to eat everything there I was that hungry but I was full and happy with my plate! Plus, when living in the South you gotta have Grits and bacon and biscuits and gravy! Biscuits are not like my Granny's (R.I.P) but they were sure damn close!! Their sweet tea was awesome too, can't forget that!!

I was just eating at this establishment, and I got up to replenish my plate, my leg was caught by a nail in the upholstery of the booth. I reported it right away and was asked if I wanted an incident report written, I responded yes. After eating with my mother (86) I paid the bill, but I asked about the incident report she said since I didn't want to go to the doctor she didn't write one. I requested that one be filled out, because I didn't feel secure about the nail. As I waited for her to come back which took about an additional 15 to 20 minutes, I asked another employee (lameka )for the managers name and phone number, she came back and said she's on the phone with the manager and to wait for her (Jessica ) then when Jessica came back, she responded give her that paper so she can go. First of all, I didn't claim that the nail went to the white meat of my leg, but my leg was bruised and bleeding. To be embarrassed and treated like this was not called for by the employees. I have always taken my mother to Shoneys, she always says how nice they are but I have a whole different outlook now. I will talk to the manager personally tomorrow morning, I will report back the results, right now I'm still reeling from this bad experience.

Shoney's of Orangeburg is one the oldest places in town. My grandparents loved it when they were alive! Of course, it isn't gourmet and it's not the place I remember from way back when, but for Orangeburg ---- it's still good. Don't expect the Golden Corral. It doesn't have an endless selection. It's an affordable buffet with a few staple items and a standard diner menu. As for the quality of customer service, that depends entirely on who you get! I've had great and okay servers, but those who know me well, know that I'm a good tipper so it's usually a pleasant experience. The overall appearance and cleanliness receives 5-stars! I would give everything else a solid 4-stars. Again, Shoney's doesn't offer everything you can imagine, but the super breakfast bar is worth a visit!

This place has REALLY cleaned up their act. Quit going a few years back because it was horrible. Bad service and poor food quality and was nasty. But apparently new management has turned it around. Its now one of the best places to eat lunch in town

Where to begin...? I guess with the dirty fork that had rice from someone else's mouth stuck in it... I noticed that before I even finished unwrapping my silverware. The waitress didn't offer menus after about ten minutes so I guess they expect everyone to want the disgusting buffet. The buffet works out to be $12.50 in the end. Shoney's will never get another one of my hard earned dollar's! It truly is gross, disgusting food that they cook and serve. I thought the one in Summerville was bad but the location in Orangeburg proved to be closer to the bottom of the barrel... Just wanted to give it another chance especially since it was a location I've never been. Wish I hadn't. I am unhappy and quite offended with mine and my families experience there. All they serve basically is a chicken dinner and it seems they can't do it to competitive standards. TAKE MY ADVICE PEOPLE...PASS THIS ONE BY...SO MANY OTHER CHOICES... I really feel like I just left a third world restaurant, if there's even such a thing...

The staff on second shift did not want to wait 0n me I finally caught a waitress coming by she got my waitress then after ordering She let me run OUT of tea and ice the last glass I only drank about half of glass that had No ice so I just left it this Same waitress before went to big manger and told him I wasn't leaving tips I told her wasn't going to when I said I was going to use the tip money to pay the price increase. Idont just leave tip they have to earn it with good service supplied with plenty of everything. The manager said the girls get upset when it'll them that Ineed to leave tip so they don't get upset

Was supposed to open at 6 am but did not it was 27 degrees this morning and they just stood there and watched me standing there instead of opening the door which they were late doing when I did get inside 10 minutes late the breakfast bar still wasn't open I had to wait another 15 minutes for 12$ the food could have been better. I want return for breakfast again ever not worth it.
