We came in town to visit and had dinner here. Our server Taylor was simply amazing. I told her I had a seafood allergy and she went above and beyond to make sure my food option wasn't going to bother my allergy. She was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I love great customer service and she provided just that! The food was very delicious and the portions were good. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

The ambience can not be beat, with low lit views of the river, beautiful pendants, and aquarium. I loved my vegetables, they were cooked perfectly. My husband loved his fried shrimp. The crab cakes were good, but not my favorite. Would have loved she crab soup as an option and more kid friendly dishes that weren’t seafood would be nice too. Wait staff was great. I have been here once before years ago for dessert on and remember the dessert being very good. Overall, a great place in Georgetown to eat.

Had lunch on a Saturday around 1 or so and didn't receive food until about an hour later. Food was underwhelming and overpriced for what was placed on the table. Expectations weren't even high to begin with and we left extremely dissatisfied. Even if the service would have been better and came out in a reasonable time I still would not recommend based on the food that came out.

A good place to go for lunch or dinner. Don't need reservations for dinner. Casual dress is fine, but if you are having a "nice" dinner out with your special someone, dressing up is fine also.

The shrimp were tuff, the pork chop was way to pink to enjoy and we weren't asked about how we would like it cooked. The water tasted like onions. Not sure if its dirty glasses or onions stored with the lemons...I couldn't even drink it. The rest of the food was very marginal. Very disappointed. We planned on dessert before we arrived but the food was so unappetizing that we passed and asked for the check instead. I'm not even sure why I'm rating it 2(I cant think of anything I liked) probably because the view in back seating area was a nice.

The shrimp and scallops were good but I cant say that about fries and the fish although they were fair. The environment is dark and cozy with some cool stuff to look at, but when coming in from outside can leave anyone disorentated and struggling to read the menu. We drove from Columbia sc to eat here that day but next time may look for something elae.

We wanted a light dinner after traveling all day to get here. I had the black bean salad and my wife had shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. Wife picked the drinks. She picked a blood orange screwdriver and a polona for me. She liked my polona better and I liked her screwdriver better. So we traded. Pretty good evening. We hope to see a lot of Georgetown in the next three days.

I went with a group of co-workers for lunch. The staff is very nice and very attentive. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out but there were 5 of us after all. I had the chicken tenders, which were the Best I've Ever had.

Came here for lunch today with the wife, food was terrible, service was terrible. We came here because we were driving through and it had good reviews which now baffles me. Ordered the soft shell sandwich, the crab was tiny, way more bread than anything else. Order lettuce and tomato with it. Received what looked like a single piece of iceberg letting that was split and later over the sandwich. And the most amazingly bad thing of all was the tomatoes which looked to be 2 cherry tomatoes split in half and put on the sandwich. Cherry tomatoes really? On a sandwich it’s like they don’t even care about the food they are serving. Will not come here again.

Has an outdoor and sunroom and inside elevated seating so the view of the harbor and boats is not blocked. Seafood platter was perfect and I'm not a fried food preferring person . Cole slaw was good. Hubby had shrimp creole and peach cobbler. Even got a 20 dollar t shirt.

This is absolutely my new favorite place in the area. We are visiting Pawleys Island, and this was worth the quick drive. The portions are huge, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is perfection. They have a covered outdoor deck on the river, a cozy fireplace and a small wine bar to the side. The prices are incredibly fair. Its family friendly, and even have a small aquarium when you enter. The decor is all wood and brick. We will absolutely come back, maybe even tomorrow.

Beautiful spot on the water for a sea food dining delight. The air conditioning could have been toned down for our comfort. We moved to a warmer section, so we experienced two waitresses. Both were fabulous. This is definitely a place of romantic ambience, or classy for a small group. Everyone in my group seemed pleased.

Unlikely we will return. Was looking forward to lunch at a 4 star restaurant, but was very disappointed. Only choices were fried. I ended up ordering the chicken salad platter which had 1 scoop of chicken salad and the rest was coleslaw. Left hungry. My boyfriend had the seafood platter, which was overall ok, but the scallops were rubbery. $60 bill with tip and not happy. Wzitess was good.

Our visit dining experience in Georgetown during our present stay. Recommended by the hotel staff at nearby Hampton Inn Georgetown-Marina, we decided to venture there. Extremely satisfied with our meal (would personally recommend the Ribeye without the Oscar) and service. A great venue for a memorable dining experience.

Enjoyable dinner with good service. Had the McClellanville crab balls which were really good, the house salad was very fresh and crunchy with great blue cheese dressing, the porterhouse pork chop was cooked perfectly and choice of sides were collard greens and grits. The grits were a bit coarse in texture so not a favorite which meant their shrimp and grits dinner was not to my liking. Again the grits were coarse not creamy and the tasso ham sauce was a tad bland and a bit gelatin like in texture. Wine selection was limited but did have some good options at very reasonable prices. I would definitely eat there again but would not recommend the shrimp and grits.

4 of us for lunch. Our waitress was simply outstanding, she deserves a 10. We all had cocktails, they were perfect. The Clam Chowder was hot and very tasty ( no Clams were to be found though!) Order of peel and eat shrimp were large and tasty. 2 of us had the Tuna Sandwiches, what a disappointment. Almost flavourless and DRY. ( Our waitress did bring extra mayo right away) 1 of us had Fried Oysters and they were good, served with a huge order of FF that we're thinking and tasted as if they were frozen. 1 of us had a Salad with Walnut Dressing, the salad did have a variety of lettuces and was acceptable but not outstanding. Over all the meal was a disappointment but the service was outstanding. I doubt we will try the River Room again.

Great place! Love being right on the harbor walk. The food is super tasty... they have THE best fried oysters of anyone and the black bean soup is very well done. Generous portions and wonderful atmosphere and right in the heart of historic downtown Georgetown.

I can only tell you how weird it is for the lobby to be playing music but for the rest of the restaurant to be in TOTAL SILENCE. The back area is so quiet that people actually look at you when you talk out loud. It's like having dinner in a library. I have shared this issue with 3 people. No change. No concern. Shrimp and grits had way too much sauce. Too salty. After a 7 hour drive I was starving so I ate it. Kids meals were fine in terms of portions but the hush puppies and fries went completely untouched by our kids. I'd guess the shrimp across the board is frozen. The seared mahi appetizer tasted great but was unfortunately definitely frozen. Hate it when seared mahi has that crunchy texture. We let it sit for a bit before digging in further. Server was friendly and service was quick. Just average. Not impressed. Will not return.

One of our favorite places to dine when we visit the Myrtle Beach area. We enjoy the ride to Georgetown and the lovely historic downtown. We've been dining at the River Room for several years when we vacation down there. The food is always excellent and the service is good. We have dined with friends and had groups of 4 - 12 & they always maintain the great service & good food quality. I've never heard any one express disappointment in any dish they ordered. The location is nice and some tables have a nice water view out the big windows. After dinner you can stroll around the town & walk on the waterfront boardwalk. There are other food places like ice cream and bars in the area so you have after dinner options as well. I highly recommend you try the River Room.

On the river, with boats docked in front. A maritime theme, with great photos of America's Cup boats. Had both dinner and lunch. Dinner was Bubba Gump Shrimp, which was excellent. Lunch was Shrimp Creole, also excellent. Fresh food and great tastes. Service was friendly and attentive. A must experience in Georgetown.

Stopped in for an early evening meal without a large appetite. Ordered the black bean soup and blackeyed pea cakes, crab balls and a salad for my husband. All were fresh and delicious. (I'd loved to have the soup and pea cake recipes!! Flavorful but not over salted like so many restaurants!). We'll go back when we have bigger appetites. Service was great also.

This is my fourth visit and I am so disappointed with everything. I asked for waterfront and they seated us as far back as possible. Within two minutes two tables came open. When I mentioned it to the hostess, she said we are busy. They ran out of the item I ordered. Our waitress seems disinterested in us.

For the food and the service I would say that this place is great! Had the "Joe's Stuffed Chicken" and was rather impressed. One note that I did make: I came in to meet family that was traveling through and they had a small child with them. The restroom facility did not a have a baby changing station. The staff recommended that they just change the baby in the waiting lobby. While not particularly bothered by this personally I do wonder if other guests might have felt a bit put off. Maybe install one in the restrooms?
