You know that we do not usually bother to write tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Italian restaurant.
Not too bad of spot and food. The meatball sub which is what I ordered could use more flavor and less bread. My co-worker ordered the clam on white sauce with tons of garlic - it looked pretty tasty. Clean atmosphere too!
My top of the list Italian favorite to visit.Had their vealcutlet parm here, their Chicken Marsala and recently tried their pizza for the 1st time. You can't go wrong here. We really enjoyed every meal.
Great service, clean place, good food.
Good food and good service... Best Philly cheesesteak I've had in NC since moving here from Philly. Pizza is authentic NY style
Pizza was not done enough manager said it was my fault as they always cook the same way. He told me to ask for well done next time. Told him there will be NO next time
The food and service were exceptional... Will definitely be back!
I went here because I heard they had good pizza. I have two pet peeves when it comes to pizza. A place that doesn't even put enough effort to cut the slices fully, and pizza that is so greasy that the crust is soaking wet. This place hit both of those points. Don't see a need to go back.
What a surprise to find such a wonderful Italian restaurant in this area. Great food.
Very good pizza and fast service.
When i have to add ketchup to the tomato sauce to add flavor, something is wrong. There was no taste but canned tomato sauce atop my rather tough chicken parm sandwich. The roll it came in was great tho!
Delighted to have passed by Portofino's. Just had an early dinner. Started out with a delicious red Sangria. Loved the mussels appetizer. We tried the Chicken Parmigiana and Salmon Mediterranean; delicious and generous portions. I had to get a to-go box. Our server, Andrea, was terrific and ensured our drinks stayed full. Will return for sure. Want to try their pizza next.
Every Friday we order the "Best Pizza" , Chicken parm and eggplant parm in Indian Land ! We love dining in too. Andrew is
Excellent place to eat. We have eaten at all of the Empire's and we prefer this one over all the others.
Excellent food and customer service!!
We ordered take out for a special occasion the evening of 1/12. I usually don't give 5 stars unless I am very impressed. The food was hot and very flavorful. The food was not over salted and it had a delicious crushed tomato sauce. The Italian bread that was included was amazing!! "OMG"
The food and ambulance are great. The wait staff are always right there for you. The wine list is wonderful and has a wide range of selection.
Amazing food and amazing service. Cant wait to go back here again. The pizza is amazing btw..
Bad tasting water, lemon wedges needed to improve the taste and mask the odo. I had veal piccata, it was average, lacking a prominent white wine reduction in the sauce. The parmagiana sauce for the spaghetti was excellent.
Pasta Primavera is the best. Attentive service and clean restaurant
I really loved this place the food was amazing the service for a drink could've been faster but other than that is was an amazing experience 4/5
Take it from this Jersey boy.....I know pizza....this is one of the best around.....been there 2X and now it’s a staple
Came here twice cause the first time was great, the second time was a little disappointing. My boyfriend ordered the same thing he did first time around and it was like a completely new recipe. I this time ordered wings for appetizer and they were really dry as if they were reheated or recooked. And the pasta I received wasnt what was listed on the menu. We both didnt feel well afterwards either. While customer service was great both times I dont think we'll be back because of the sickness.
Went to this location for the first time as an early Mother’s Day dinner. Our server was very attentive, and food was fantastic. Will definitely visit again. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food. Service was top drawer.
We didn’t order a lasagna with hair. We found a hair inside of our meatball. Luckily we seen it before eating it. The taste isn’t anything special and if I’m honest it’s pretty bland. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking for a nice tastey sit down meal.
When I think of what a casual meal in Italy should be, I think of the freshest ingredients prepared with the overall guidance of 'don't screw up what is already delicious thanks to nature.' Combine such ingredients with fresh pasta al-dente and a glass of wine that's pleasing but not pretentious and you've got the perfect setting for a memorable meal with friends and family. Sadly, Portofino's has none of this . . . Portofino's instead takes the cheapest of ingredients and thoroughly overcooks them so that you have a meal with all of the character of something that came out of a Chef-Boyardee box. Its wines are the cheapest you can find and sold for the same price for a glass as a bottle would cost you at the discount store. The atmosphere of the place screams "let's not spend any money, because we will likely be out of business in 12 months and need to sell it to be converted to Tex-Mex or something else." How Portofinos is still in business was initially a mystery until my wife commented that the patrons were almost exclusively retirees. Ah, lack of flavor means nothing to those folks from the nearby 'adult living' complex! To be fair, service was friendly and attentive. In addition, the restaurant was clean and the portions were large. (Too bad nobody wanted to eat the leftovers.) The bill for two adults and one child including two glasses of wine was $100 with a generous tip. Personally, I think our money would have been better spent just about anywhere else.
Delicious drinks and food. Great service!
Great food. I especially love the Philly cheese steak.
Delicious food in a super comfortable setting. The marinara is great and the prices fair! Absolutely will return!!
Food is great, service is just really slow. I hope they work on that aspect of their restaurant.
Awesome service..our host was so attending and was checking on us Everytime...food was really great and filling
This is the worst restaurant I went in my life. Food taste was horrible. The food was not freshly made. I don't feel like giving one star either, but this is not allowing me to post with out selecting a star.
The food, wine and beer was absolutely great......I love this restaurant.....I will eat here again.....it was my first time and it was great.....great customer service as well....so viewers please. Eat at Portofino's in Indian Land,SC you want regret it
Really enjoyed our lunch. Service was good. Will definitely go back.
We've been to several different locations and the food is consistently delicious at all of them. The pasta dishes come out perfectly al dente and the sauces are very balanced in flavor. Last night we tried the calamari and they were crispy and light with a tomato dipping sauce that couldn't be any more flavorful. Our favorite dish is still the Portofino pasta.. absolutely amazing. The service and staff are always on point. All in all, a wonderful dining experience with delicious Italian food that is priced just right.
Our server Phillip was awesome! The food was great and the garlic bread with cheese was amazing! Will definitely be back!
Food is consistently good and huge portions.
Just finished! Had the lasagna very runny and cool. Salad was very wet and dark like it's been around a while. Wife had shrimp and chicken parmesan. Shimp didn't seem cooked well.
Best pizza in the south great customer service and the food is to die for love you guys keep up the good job from your biggest fan Richard Rivera
I was impressed with the portions, I hope they keep them that way HUGE, food and service was very good. Happy to find this place.
The food was delicious. Party of four and we had some fettuccine alfredo, a specialty pizza and some lasagna. Food came out hot and fresh, bread ran out at one point and they obviously had to bake more because it took a while to get some but it was piping hot when we got it. Waitress was thoughtful and efficient and the staff made sure we had full drinks and that we didnt need anything else.
So delicious. Friendly staff.
Salmon Piccata was perfect. Service great as well!
Coming from a NY, NJ & Pgh resident - Portofinos is quite tasty! The service was great (even under duress due to packed house). I'll definitely be going back! Ciao...
Everyone was kind and greeted me at the door. My server is sweet and attentive. She helped answer my questions over the menu. I notice they clean the tables right away which is great. The lighting and decor is pleasant. Food came out got and delicious!! Our server even served our slices which is kind. We got the small white pizza with half spinach and lasagna. My taste buds are happy. Great portions. Will be back again.
Portions are not that of "real" Italian restaurants but food was pretty good. Service was great. Priced right for this area.
A lot to be desired. The happy hour is only at the bar, not when you sit down. Wish they would be more pleasant with their service and explanation of what is going on in the restaurant. Wanted to love it, but there are better places to eat in town.
The food was great. Hot. Tasted great. The waitstaff was very good. From the time we placed our orders, we waited 50 minutes for the entrees to arrive .
Our group of six really enjoyed our lunch today. Food was great, we all brought some home for dinner. Service was excellent, server was super and took time to chat with us about Italy and the food. Will surely be back for dinner in the future.
Decent & affordable. Don’t choose salmon or steak dishes as I think you’ll be disappointed in the cook/quality of the meat....it’s a pasta & pizza joint & all the pastas we’ve tried are great! Haven’t tried the pizza yet but it looks mouthwatering! Lots of seating, but like anything you’ll wait 30-60 min on Fri/Sat after 6. Servers & bar staff pretty good, host staff a little off the night we went (just age perhaps)! Reasonably clean environment, not top-notch in that department but there were lots of tables with loud & crazy kids (prolly contributes to cleanliness in those areas).
Good pizza and entrees. I'm a bit pickup on my red sauce and am not a fan here (too sweet). Everything else on the menu is a hit
Very nice atmosphere. The food was exceptionally flavorful!
You be the judge. Pizza so soft and greasy it fell apart trying to separate the pieces. The box was leaking grease from it being so wet LOL A JOKE. I’ve ate at many many pizza places from New York all way to Chicago to here. This is by far the worst pizza I ever had. I would’ve rather had frozen pizza. One time experience never again. Heard it was great. But not mine.
Excellent food and location. The staff was great. I can't wait to visit again.
When they first opened, the food was good and loved the pizza . Then we tried a couple of entrees and was totally disappointed. Too much cheese, ridiculous amount. And who puts mushrooms on Chicken Piccata?? And canned mushrooms, ugh. The good chef must have went back to Charlotte.
Lovely Italian restaurant. Delicious food. Ordered the pizza and it was amazing!
Have been here several times. The service has always been very good. I ordered stuffed eggplant which I know as eggplant rolatini. The sauce was very tasty and the dish was good. I have also ordered a sausage hero there which was also good. However, my favorite item to order there is the pizza. They have a protected outdoor dining which comes in handy since the place does fill up quickly after 5:00.
I've been to all of the locations. This one works best because it's close to the house. I still frequent the Arsley location for lunch. Great food and bread. Get the oil and vinegar for the bread! The Specials are always my go to. The pizza is best around as well.
Disappointed with our experience here. I’ve eaten at Portofino’s in Charlotte and it was great. The location in Indian Land, not so much. The service was mediocre and my lasagna came out with a hair baked in the meat and cheese. As a result, my children were disgusted and couldn’t eat their food (spaghetti and meatballs). Only positive feedback is the manager took care of everything (all we had was a small salad and piece of bread). Never again!
Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Italian food.
Awesome stromboli and shrimp scampi...took a wonderful cannoli home!
Excellent service and food on our first visit to this location. There are several Portofino's in Charlotte, but this newest one is a solid choice. Heated outdoor seating area is great in good weather, too.
Absolutely amazing food! Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff. Small bar (4 seats), but fast service. Highly recommend!
Best pizza you can find. Love the thin crust onion one. Calamari is outstanding.
Good is always good. Staff is super friendly and it's a kid friendly environment. All you can ask for.
We ordered the cheese pizza, shrimp w/ pasta, sausage w/ peppers, and chicken masala. Everyone enjoyed their food except for the masala which looked like and was reported as "meh".
Great food good service
Excellent food and service. Patio dining area was fine for our large group, but ask for inside if you want more atmosphere. The salmon was delicious and definitely not run of the mill. Portions are generous and they also have gluten free penne. And the sunset from our table was spectacular.
