First visit to their Arboretum location. Service was excellent, no wait to be seated (715 pm). Restaurant very quaint and had a good vibe. Food was very good, nice portions $$ priced. Overall, thumbs up.

Fantastic local restaurant with a great menu. We order takeout 2-3 times per month for last 10 years. Pizza is great, chicken & egg plant parmigiana are a favorite for us. Cannot recall being disappointed.

Amazing everything.... One of Charlotte's original Italian restaurants. It doesn't matter which location you go to they're very consistent. Pizza is awesome. The slices are big so great for a quick lunch.

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant to eat at. The place was very busy which is a good sign for a restaurant. The bread appears to be freshly made. The side salad was very good with several different toppings. I chose the house dressing which was a creamy tomato basil. It was excellent and the dressing was served on the side. As soon as we were done with our salad, our main course was served. Food was hot and a large portion. I took the leftovers home. Service was excellent. They were present checking to make sure the diners' needs were met but not in an ever present way. The waiters even boxed the leftovers when finished. Parking is free. If I lived in this area, I would be a frequent customer.

What can I say about Portofino’s that hasn’t already been said? The food is fresh, it’s consistent and it’s fantastic. The staff no deviation always on point, attentive there to assist with any recommendation. Highly recommend this restaurant for catering for dinners for groups not had a bad meal in years of patronage.

We were looking for a solid Italian restaurant and found one at Porotfinos. The food was very good with a variety of choices for the whole family. I had the chicken sorrentino which was excellent as was their red sauce on the capellini. Our server was excellent and attentive.

I really like this restaurant, best Italian food I’ve had in Charlotte so far. I especially like the Margherita pizza! When I dined in a couple months ago, the service was great too. Even the new server that was waiting on us did a great job.

I wish I could say it was great but not. The red sauce tasted like it was store bought. And slathered in the sauce. I expect you should go there for pizza. Friends had that and enjoyed it.

Good experience. Pasta was a little dense but overall amazing flavor. Sauces were awesome. Seafood cooked perfectly. Bread is one of the best.

Came to eat here last weekend with my brother. Had a nice time. Food and decor are superb. Wait staff are friendly and the wait time wasn't that long either. If I had a small complaint it would be how dark it is within the restaurant but it's a very minor issue. Other than that everything else is good.

Supposedly they offer gluten free pasta. Based on my stomach's reaction while still there I'd say it wasn't. I asked the server and he argued with me. Woke up with a face rash the next day, so pretty sure it wasn't gluten free. Called and spoke to the manager who argued with me and insisted it had to be gluten free. I don't think they take gluten free requests seriously and won't be going back.

I was so disappointed! Canned mushrooms, frozen vegetables. My entree was 32 dollars and it tasted like a frozen dinner. Charlotte is in need of a great Italian restaurant. This is not one.

Well if you are walking down through this shopping center and look over and see a place with a catchy blue awning you are looking directly at Portofino's Italian Restaurant Arboretum! This place is located in the fun Mathews Arboretum where there is a lot of fun stuff to look at.

Quiet night in a normally packed Italian restaurant. Our service was excellent and was helpful with knowledge of the menu. Kitchen was on top of their game. We only had pizza and salad for dinner. The pizza arrived hot and fresh. The mushrooms on the were excellent. Give a try! Go early this place is usually crowded.

FABULOUS food! Authentic Italian. Little on the pricey side for a quick lunch but we did have leftovers, so maybe priced well for portions (certainly not expensive) Had the littles with us and they we're a little stir crazy but staff was patient and considerate. We did suggest a corner out of the way booth as to not be a nuisance though it was not busy. Clean, quick, gracious, and reasonably priced. A++

Our favorite Italian! Quick and attentive service, customizable dishes, great salad, and plenty of hot bread. I especially like Alla Panna with fresh spinach and mushrooms added. Also...the absolute BEST fresh cold water shrimp in Charlotte flown in daily from the northeast. The lemonchello cake is really good to finish off a meal. We like the Arboretum location best but you might have to wait on Friday and Saturday nights. Fantastic and affordable take out pizza too!

The food was good but our server wasn’t very friendly, argued with my sister about whether she had ordered a red Zinfandel or a white Zinfandel then took the wine back and never brought any other nor did she bother to ask if she wanted something else. Then she charged me for the wine we did not get and had to remove it from the bill. Good thing I reviewed my bill!

Watery sauce on everything. The lasagna was the worst lasagna I’ve ever had. It was frozen and watery. The meat was very strange and beige. It looked like canned cat food. My wife had the worst raviolis as well. My bill was almost 100 dollars! Should have stayed home eating TV dinners.

This is our favorite Italian restaurant. And quite possibly our favorite restaurant in general. The service is wonderful. The food is delicious. You can order takeout. You can sit for a romantic meal. You can enjoy a big group of friends and family. Best pasta in town. Best cheesesteak in town. Ask for the linguini sorrento that is no longer on the menu (fresh mozzarella on top of tomatoes, garlic, and herbs sautéed in olive oil). You will not be disappointed!

I ordered a large cheese pizza with half pepperoni for myself and my 3 grandchildren and a spaghetti with bolognese sauce for my grandfather. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Some of the absolute best Italian food I’ve ever eaten! The osso bucco is consistent, love the grilled shrimp over arugula salad, you can get real piccata here as well! Great caprices salad and bruschetta!
