REVIEWS OF Page's Okra Grill IN South Carolina

We spent the week in Charleston & went to Page's on a friend's recommendation. We were not disappointed! Absolutely the best meal we had the entire week! Waiter was a very nice man, I wish I could remember his name, he said he just moved to Charleston from Florida. He made sure we were taken care of! I highly recommend this place and will be sure to go again if we are in the area.

Some of the best food I've had in a long, long time. Period. In addition, great service and super quick for how busy they were. They sat tables as quickly as they could considering the wait, but honestly? The food was worth every minute. Also, the atmosphere of the entire restaurant was cozy as all heck, and it just wrapped up all into one great experience.

Sarina Nickerson-Roher

We had a great meal here! The chicken and waffles were to die for. Best fried chicken I had during our visit to the south. The savory waffle was delicious as well. We were skeptical when described but it did not disappoint. The crab & corn chowder was nice and hearty, had a great texture and plenty of ingredients but it could have benefited from some more spices. The redneck rolls were so good. All the plates going by looked amazing as well. The place was packed but yet no wait for us, which was nice. The portions were big and prices reasonable. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because our server wasn't really on her "A" game. While she was nice, she was quite slow. The food and atmosphere was great and maybe would have not noticed how slow she was getting everything we asked for and forgetful but we were on our way to airport so it stood out. We will def go back with our next visit to SC.

I want to thank the staff, especially our waitress Julia for serving 17 adults and 1 infant. She was Awesome. This was our 1st visit to celebrate my mother's birthday and we will return again.

M M

Usually always a wait but it’s worth it. Love their menu. A place we try to come at least once every time we are in Charleston.

Nich Inez

I was there visiting from Kansas City Missouri and I must say they do have this world's best shrimp and grits! I definitely will be back

Sharon Jackson

Great food...very tasty & good portions; really nice ambiance; & hosts, servers and waitresses were all very friendly & accommodating. The prices are good, too. I highly recommend and I plan to come Page’s Okra Grill again when I’m in town...& will bring folks with me! The carrot cake super deeeelicious!

Tiffany Michelle

Had a bad first time experience and the management invited us back. It was incredible! The southern hospitality and the food were amazing!! The crab stuffed salmon was delicious

Joel Smith

I can't say enough good things about this place! The food was wonderful! It's apparent that every single dish has been well thought out and prepared: entrees and side dishes! The portions were big and the prices were more than reasonable.

Quentin Monaghan

Best fried chicken I've ever had. That alone earns the five stars. Inside and outside seating so if you get here at a decent time, the wait shouldn't be long. If there is one, don't worry it's worth it.

Dawn DeMarco

Cute place. Very dog friendly BUT our waiter, although kind, was very scattered and barely checked on us. I had to refill my own water. The fried oysters were gritty and the coating was soggy. The chicken and waffles were good but obviously had been sitting a while as they were swimming in butter. Was disappointed after the reviews.

Jana Sedmera

Page's Okra Grill is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my life. I came here with my family and we all LOVED the food. The helpings were very generous, the pricing was reasonable, the service was also very good, and the restaurant was comfortable and clean. There wasn't a very long wait when we came on a Wednesday night, even though there were a lot of people there. I ordered their shrimp and grits and it was excellent-- I would highly recommend it. I have never left a review for a restaurant on Google before, but this place is so good I had to. If you ever visit Charleston, SC, then you should come here.

Kalila Shoffner

The food was AWESOME. There was 45 min wait. But it was so worth the wait. There is a bar and beach chair in the waiting area which makes the long wait not so bad. Will def tell everyone about this place. Would absolutely come back here when I visit again.

Fiquet Krueger

This place is totally overrated by tourists who don’t know what real southern food tastes like. The restaurant was so much better food wise before the renovation, while it may look better now the foods quality has ultimately suffered. We arrived, waited an hour for a table (which was expected for a Friday night), sat and ordered. About 30 mins later our food arrives. Presentation wise it looked great but unfortunately EVERYTHING was either COLD or LUKEWARM. it was obvious that the meals had been sitting out or they just simply did not properly cook/heat the food. Which is absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, the food is subpar southern, the brown gravy wasn’t seasoned well among the Mac and cheese, green beans, and okra. This appears to be a common issue when you look at authentic reviews, hopefully this issue will be resolved because this used to be such an amazing restaurant.

Rachel Kiser

Went for brunch today with a group of 5, it was totally packed and they said it would be a 45 min wait. There was an outdoor Bloody Mary/mimosa bar and some games to keep you busy when you wait. It ended up only being about 15 minutes. The food was amazing!! Everyone was very happy with what they ordered but the buffalo chicken and waffles was amazing!!! So good, we will def be back. It is absolutely worth the wait! Service was also very good. Went back a second time, everyone got something different, again everything was awesome!!

Whit Procter

Creative menu and nothing but stellar food. Can't recommend highly enough! Chicken & waffles is amazing.

Mother Bunny

I had read the reviews on Page's Okra Grill on Trip Advisor and some other review sites and they were all good. I decided to try them for the first time on Wednesday on my trip to Mt Pleasant for the day. I got take out for 2 people so I could have a variety of foods to try and have leftovers too. Every thing was great except for the black eye peas. They were extremely salty. The baby lima beans were excellent!!! The collard greens were great, the tomatoes and okra were great, the sweat potato casserole was really different and good, and the salmon salad was excellent too! I will definitely be coming back soon to dine in and explore their menu. They package everything you get to go excellently too. You don't have to worry about spillage. At 11am they were packed. That tells you how good their food is.

Matthew Gearing

Very nice establishment, our waiter was very nice and courteous. Had a good sense of humor to boot. There is a nice selection of dinners and if you like Okra you will like this place. We had the fried pork chops, shrimp platter and a house salad that was HUGE.

Donnie Smith

Promised the best shrimp and grits in America. They were very good, but I had better this week. 4 stars because everything else was great but they almost met the hype.

Tonya Pemberton

This place was super crowded and the wait was loooooong. They have games, swings, music etc to keep you entertained and comfortable until you are called. The food was appealing to the eye and delicious and customer service was very attentive. They gave everyone full attention once you are seated. I never felt rushed or like they were too busy for me. I will definitely be back

Dana McDow

This place is always packed, so this was actually my first time in -- or rather out, since we ate outside! Great southern favorites! Ordered the appetizer sampler: cause I love fried green tomatoes, and these did not disappoint! The pimento cheese was top notch, too. We had fried chicken and the chicken salad salad. No complaints here!! Would definitely go back.

Damian Bramlett

During my visit to Charleston, I had the opportunity to eat a lot of great local food. Page's was one of my absolute favorites. They make one of the best bloody marys I've ever had! I came here for dinner and had the flounder fillets. I came back the next morning and had brunch and had the buffalo chicken biscuit. Their buffalo chicken and waffles are also killer, but make sure to bring your appetite because it's HUGE! I also strongly recommend making a reservation as it tends to get super busy.

Cristobal Carrion

First time here. We came from Charlotte for the weekend. Food was great, atmosphere was comfortable, waitress was very friendly and very attentive. We ate and drank redneck rolls, fried chicken, okra gumbo and bacon Bloody Mary it was awesome! Our waitress Madeline was also awesome!!! We will definitely recommend and come back.

Donna Vest

This place was by far the best meal we had during our visit to Charlotte/Mt. Pleasant. We had to wait 45 minutes. It was Friday night. But once we got in definitely worth the wait. Once again I ordered shrimp and grits. I had this our first day because it was something I really wanted to try. The first day at a different restaurant it was good. Just absolutely no flavor. I wanted so badly to grab the salt shaker but I can't for health reasons. But at Page's the shrimp and grits were devine. It's what made the south. Best meal of the whole trip and totally worth the wait.

Arlene Manahan

Our server Adam was amazing! The service is always outstanding here even though the place is packed! Fantastic food and specials with even greater staff. From the bar, dining, or getting it to go! 10/10 recommend!!!!

Scott Katzer

This place has great southern food. The plate of chicken livers and 2 sides was only $12. Place was packed at lunch during the weekday I was there. Of I'm in the area again, definitely will stop in

Ryan Branch

AMAZING FOOD AND PEOPLE!! I recommend everyone to try their breakfast once! Will change your life

Jim Randazzo

Located in the general area of Shem Creek, this restaurant has got to be on your top ten dining destinations in Charleston. It's just a place that once you've been to, you'll want to come back again and again. Great chicken and biscuits, …

ed barnard

As expected...a lot of food, that taste good. Arrived at 11:30 and got immediately seated. After that there is always a wait.

Sheila V. Jones

Food was excellent. I ordered a trio of crab cake, fried shrimp & fried flounder. Seasoned well with the right amount of heat/spiciness. Even though the restaurant was extremely business, our server Joshua checked on us several times.

Lilly

Okra Grill is the best restaurant in the area. We were in Charleston for only 3 days and we ended up going twice! Great service, amazing food, prices seemed fine for the huge amount of food you get. I'd definitely recommend the country fried chicken or the waffle sandwich.

Sharon Mitchell

What a great place to eat. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. The women's restaurant was busy (1:30 - 2:30 pm) but it did not take away from the experience. Even the most picky eater would find something to enjoy here. I will most definitely return here in the future.

Deborah C

The food and service were great! We did not have to wait to be seated outside and the wait would have been only 30 minutes to eat inside. Outdoor seating with fans to cool us was fine. Food was great. Our group had the Lowcountry crab cakes, okra, blackened shrimp, fried green tomatoes and coleslaw. All were delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Scott George

I’ve been a frequent patron of Page’s and the food and service is typically great. I talked some friends from Charlotte into going there on 8/10/19. We had to wait for an hour and 40 minutes outside at the bar in 95 degree heat. The hostess, bartender, and waitresses were nice. The food and drinks were great. The reason for the lack of 5 stars was or experience with the manager, Diamond. She was rude and immature. I was embarrassed at how she treated our group. It was closing time, but the only reason we were there that late is because it took from 7:15 till 9pm for them to seat our party of 6. We spent hundreds of dollars between the bar and table and then at the end were treated very rudely by this manager. As much as I like Page’s this experience alone makes me not want to come back or recommend it. Maybe she was having a bad day, but as a customer, I expect to be treated better.

Janice Greene

Superb regional food. Crab cakes and eggs were delicious. My daughter ordered shellfish and grits, which was comprised of sauteed shrimp and crabmeat and garnished w/ plump fried oysters. It was excellently prepared and lovely presentation. Atmosphere is great. Will definitely return.

Jennifer Collins

Fabulous mom and pop restaurant from Mount pleasant! Great with not only locals but vacationers also. Service is always fantastic, atmosphere is fun. The kids like taking their pictures in the large lawn chair :-)

Cassondra Swaffield

Absolutely incredible!! The food, the servers, the atmosphere, all wonderful! I had the award winning shrimp and grits and sweet tea and left fully satisfied! Our waitress was attentive and prompt. The totality of the experience was great! Highly recommend!

Eric Mahala

Service started great, then went downhill at the end or it would've gotten 5 stars. Food was great. Waitress started out great but let my wife and I's drink go empty and the is a no no in my book. Would I go back? Yes, because the door was great.

Amie Cunningham

OMG!!! This place was the absolute BEST!! Pretty sure our server said his name was Tyler (long beard and glasses) he was an awesome server. Amazing food , fast and accurate service, lovely atmosphere, and not overpriced at all. We will be back for sure next time we visit.

Terry Rud

Country fried chicken smothered in white gravy, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. It was wonderful. We were there for a retirement party. Employee's was great, fast, courtesy. Can't wait to go back.

Kelly Hinson

My husband and I try to eat at Page's at least once whenever we visit Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. We have never had a bad meal or service. Our meal tonight was no exception.I had the crab cakes and my husband had the fried shrimp. The crab cakes were mostly crab, lightly pan fried and served with a zippy remoulade. The fried shrimp were huge, tender and fried to perfection. Make a reservation, if you can but if not know that the food is worth the wait.

Stephanie N

Great brunch spot!!! Busy place - glad we had reservations! So many great and healthy breakfast options! Super friendly staff! Great way to start the day!

Bill McLeod

Wonderful lunch. The flounder was very fresh and tasty. The sampler platter was interesting also.

Cheryl Walters

Wonderful food and portion sizes are big. I ordered the pork chops. They were well seasoned and delicious. They were extremely busy and the wait was over 20 minutes but the food was worth the wait. They do have an outside bar and games to entertain those waiting. I recommend this place. Bring a big appetite to accommodate the large portions.

David Hannon

This place was fantasmal!! We had a party of 8. Our server was ready on the spot for anything and coordinated very efficiently. Everyone was delighted with the various dishes that we ordered! They were all very well prepared and executed. I will be returning as often as possible. Place a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit during peak times as they get really busy. It is worth it though!

valarie mathes

Food was great but we got placed in area where there was a private party. It was terribly loud and they forgot my drink. I would still go back because the food was very good.

Becky W

This restaurant was recommended by friends for our visit to the area. It was amazing! The redneck rolls were excellent and the fried green tomatoes may be the best I've ever eaten. Maybe even better than grandma's were...shhhhh. Page's is a must do for any trip to the area!

Anita Lindler

Great foods and drinks. Wide variety on menu of both. Top notch. We highly recommend it!

Bruce Reirden

Stopped by shortly after opening on Saturday. Was seated quickly. Ordered from a limited selection of local brews which were good. My partner ordered the grilled grouper, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was finished as requested. My partner's grouper was tasty, but lukewarm, the accompanying Mac and cheese was cold. Trying to be accommodating, my partner asked for only the mac and cheese to be warmed up. It was replaced, but the replacement was cold as well. Hence the rating of 3 instead of 4. Overall, the restaurant was busy and the dining room we were in a bit noisy, but nothing unusual for a high volume restaurant such as this. Will go back if in the area.

Max Amillion

Please don't waste your money and your lifetime. Food was incredibly over priced and absolutely terrible. Took way too long. Service was DESPICABLE. Would rate 0 stars I'd I could.

Nancy Geckler

Great service and wonderful food. Thankful for reserving table for my six grands. So popular that the wait can be long if you are not prepared.

Sheila Sanders

Magnificent Breakfast! Waffles and Omelettes amazing! Juice and Bloody Mary's outside while you wait! Service exceptional! Definitely will return!

Danita Eldridge

Great Southern cooking. This is the place yall! I've lived in Charleston most of my life and thought I had my list of local favorites complete until I ate here. O to the M to the G! This is my new favorite spot for fried pork chops. On another visit, I had an amazing Cod sandwich. Their portions each time I've eaten here are so generous that I always take food home for almost a full meal later. Grade A+++ in my book!

Shane Smith

Awesome food period. The staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant was clean, neat and felt like a real home cooked restaurant. Their biscuits reminded me of a place I used to eat as a child here in the upstate called Po Folks.

Lonnie Redding

Been searching for a great place to get fried chicken livers since KFC stopped selling them. I finally found such a place in Page's Okra Grill. Had great fried chicken livers cooked to my specifications, soft and not hard and crunchy. Definitely recommended.

Ken Cogan

We were there yesterday for breakfast. Excellent food and service. Very good menu. Popular on weekends so get there early or be prepared to wait. The cinnamon bun Belgium waffles with pecans, bacon, and eggs were outstanding! Plenty of food so I wasn't hungry until might-afternoon. I'm going back today!

Joy Winn

We were told a wait time of 30 minutes and got seated in less than 10! Awesome atmosphere inside and out with chairs, outdoor games such as jinga. The food was great, prices were not too bad at all and service was great as well. Very popular and busy place and I can see why.

Sweet Sharon

We heard about this place on Yelp. We were not disappointed, the food was very delicious. Our waitress was friendly and quick. The food was served quickly as well. If I come back in town, I will come to eat here again.

Freddy Sullivan

It lived up to every review I read! The four of us arrived just before opening. We waited a few minutes then went inside to be seated. The service was great and the kitchen did a superb job. Our meal was absolutely delicious! Only …

Ann Woods

Food was good, expected more. Was so excited to visit from the reviews . Howeve it wasn't anything spectacular . The shrimp and grits were flavorful but they were tables like warm so that took away from them. Was visiting from Atlanta, I can check it off me list and never return.

Randy

Pretty much average for our visit. Since the reviews were great overall, I had high hopes for an excellent experience. We waited about 45 minutes for our table (which incidentally we had stood beside the entire time and was empty from the time we walked in) so that wasn't ideal. I kind of expected a nice twist on okra, because of the name, but there was only one okra dish as a side. Our waiter never made it back to check on us after the main course arrived. And I ordered a $30 steak medium rare that arrived well done. I understood that, since it was only about a half inch thick. It wasn't terrible, just not that great. Simply disappointed.

Jenn Knight

Had the, oh my gosh omelette, home fries and biscuit. The portion is more than enough and flavors were good. Service from waitress and kitchen were slow. They had a descent amount of customers but wasn't packed and it was overall, very slow. Biscuit was dry but omelette and fries were good. Doubt I'd try again due to so many other options.

Heather Kainbryce

I had been wanting to stop here for awhile, and this summer I finally got the chance. It lived up to the expectation and then some. It can get quite crowded, and have to wait for a table, however you can make a reservation on their website or right on Google through open table. I made a reservation though google and open table and waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. The staff are really friendly. The food is delicious, great selection of southern and coastal Carolina comfort food. I had the fried green tomato BLT and it was drool worthy. I also suggest trying their bloody Mary's!

Michael McCloskey

Have been coming here for years. They have a good mix of casual and fancy cuisine, great specials, and cheaper than downtown. Well worth the drive over the bridge.

Theoni Kontos

LOVE THIS place. Great brunch spot. Drinks are delicious & food is always amazingly fresh and savory. If you're going for breakfast/brunch on the weekend, be sure to get there when they open or before 9! They get super busy. But the wait time has never been crazy, I think the longest I've waited was maybe 25 minutes. But no matter how busy, the service never disappoints. Staff is always friendly. Food has always been delicious. There are so many options but everything has been extremely tasty!

Hope Crabtree

Great service and great food! It's my husband's favorite restaurant in the area. Make sure you try their grits!!!

TheeOhio StateBuckeyes

Sat next to pickup register forced to listen as employees gossip about other employees and customers. Young man helping servers and cooks, flirting with fellow employees. Served lemon with my tea, I'm allergic to it. I had explained, IN DETAIL, I could not even drink from a glass where one had been removed. After several sips, I found a pulp from a lemon. Suffering today from it. Furious I must say I wasn't impressed with what I ordered. However, my friend's breakfast was awesome. Not as great a places as everyone told us.

John Burwell

Local food, completely casual. Inside and outside dining. Outside is VERY loud in warm weather due to large fans and street traffic. To completely enjoy, reserve a table inside.

Alan Williamson

Mity fine vitals! Very friendly staff; excellent value. Shrimp and grits was fabulous.

Mirela H

I mean how much more extra can you get with a chicken and waffle sandwich? Oh but you CAN at Page's Okra!!! I decided to try a local favorite while visiting Charleston/Mt. Pleasant here at Page's Okra. I got the chicken and waffle sandwich …

Robert Dunlap

This is a wonderful restaurant! We highly recommend it. My wife and I went there for the first time today and we were amazed at how great the food and the staff were. 7 food and generous portions. It's a very popular restaurant so make a reservation or go early to avoid lines. It's worth it. We definitely will be back again and again.

TheAnthonyable

Great food. The chicken livers were like WOW, never thought they would be that good. Perfect choice for dinner.

Dragon Z

Great food all the way around! If you love mac n cheese, you have to try the seafood one! The crab cakes were excellent as well. I did see a number of other dishes, but was not lucky enough to try them (cause I was already too full). Enjoy!

trixie sheheane

First let me say I love Page's! However my husband took me there on October 12, 2019 for our anniversary. He knows I love it. I was extremely disappointed last night. I had a reservation for 4:45 I was asked to wait a few minutes, which was fine. Then people where being seated with later reservations before us. When my husband asked what was going on, we were told they had us seated already but I never got a text. Finally when we got seated we where put by a large group. It was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Our appetizer came out with our food, which was taken off our bill. We appreciated that. Our food was very good as always which is the 4 stars. I have never had the experience here last night there before. Also there was a greeter at the front with a pixie hair cut. Short brown hair. She was not very welcoming to customers. She didn't smile and seemed not to want to be there. I hope this post helps to make changes for next time. It's just to bad it was our anniversary

Tom Sharple

Went here for brunch last weekend. I had the cinnamon bun waffles and my girlfriend had fried shrimp. The food was fresh and hot and was really enjoyable. Even though it was crowded we were seated relatively quickly. Really glad we ate here.

Debra Jones Hawkins

Visiting home city from OH and saw a recommendation from the Sunshine Cruise 10.14.19 group that this was the place to eat and the review was right. My meal was awesome (seafood platter). Service was awesome, server Joshua. Love the butter beans, especially with the rice. Will have to revisit again.

Anthony Robbins

Outstanding server, Joshua. Excellent food: seafood Mac and cheese, fried shrimp and oysters. Very large portions. Peanut butter pie was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Gerald A. Pimpleton

You must go for one dish and one dish only..... The shrimp and grits.... Make sure you ask for the side of creamy grits or else you'll get grit cakes....you dont want that. Their creamy grits are of legend.....
