The place is nice, & the staff very pleasant. We ordered the galbi dinner box, kimchi pancake, kimbap, & bibimbap. The portions were nice, and the galbi was some of the best I've ever had. Kimbap was pretty standard, and the kimchi pancake overcooked. The bibimbap looked more like a salad than a cooked meal, but tasted ok. Service was spotty, & our drinks never refilled. Personally, I think O Bok is much better, & they'll remain our go-to, but this place isn't bad.

The food here is great. I've pretty much enjoyed everything there. Bulgugi, Kalbi, bibimbap, and jajangmyun are among my favorites. If you like seafood the soft tofu seafood soup is good. The grilled mackerel is also good. When hot, the cold, spicy arrow root noodles is awesome. All entrees are served with banchan(side dishes of kimchi, vegetables, etc) The only negative is not having hot water in the bathrooms.

This is the second time we ate in this place and the service is worst that the first time. The food is good but server as well as the owner are rude and that’s not okay. Training on how to be nice is a must.I would like to give negative review but there’s no choices for negative. Will not go back to this restaurant again !!!!

The food was good, but we went to close to closing and was RUSHED out the door like, "Okay Bye Bye Now!" If they close at 10pm get there by 9pm or you'll only be able to swallow and not chew like us. Rating would have been 4 stars if not for that and my bf is allergic to all seafood and shell fish. They didn't tell us that the condiments all pretty much contained fish paste. Thank God he's a chef and recognized that or it would've been a trip to the ER.

I would say five stars but I was rushed to order when it was my first time there and did not know their menu. The food tasted great even though I would have chosen a different plate if I wasn’t rushed. I loved the authentic feel of real Korean style and flavor.

I am a Veteran and I did a year tour in Korea. Their culture and authentic cuisine is different but if you keep an open mind you will find some favorites of your own. I wanted to introduce a friend to Korean food and we were doomed as soon as we walked in there was a foul stench and a abundance of fruit flies that met us at the door. We turned around dreading what was in the kitchen.

My wife and I stop here every year on the way home from the Crawfish Festival in Columbus and it's always great. There are several other options for Korean on the same stretch of road but then we risk being dissapointed; never the case here!

I think this is the best Korean restaurant in town! I use to live in Columbia and we would go there all the time. Nowadays when I have business in town, we always make a pit stop there. Their Bul Go Gi and Be Bim Bap is excellent. Me and my husband always get the spicy Octopus! Very flavorful. The family that owns this place are good people. Very nice and good customer service. Always refill our sweet teas fast because we love spicy food! I love the little dishes they give us too. It's a great hole in the wall family place.

If you're looking for something new to try this is the place for you the food is absolutely amazing, come with an open mind and open mouth lol, I recommend the bbq Korean chicken and the Beef short ribs as seen in the pic, this is a dining experience more than just some where to eat

Best authentic Korean food hands down. Out of all the places this is my go to! I come here like once or twice a week. You could say I have a problem but a yummy one! LOVE the kimchi soup, it's a classic for Korean cuisine and only the faint of heart can eat it but it's my favorite. Service needs a little work but other than that it's delicious food and a nice atmosphere for all ages. Just watch out for weekends because they can get busy!

Pleasantly surprised to find really good Korean food in Columbia, SC. We orderes the kimchi jigae, soondubu, jajangmyun, jjangbong, and jaeyuk bokkum. Everything was so flavorful and comforting. I loved the jaeyuk bokkum and the smoky marinated pork belly.

Was really looking forward to trying this place out. Went there this past Saturday night but felt very unwelcome upon our arrival. We were seated then abruptly abandoned by our waitress. She never even came back to ask if we wanted something to drink. After waiting for several minutes without service, we finally got up and left. Disappointing experience.

Me and my wife ordered the seafood soup and it was so delicious I dreamt that night I was eating more. The interior of the building has a home like feeling and I felt relaxed here. Updated 6/1/2019: We will not be coming back. The new management is not living up to the reputation of the old management. While we were there a few of the workers were drinking soju and being obnoxious in front of the TV. My wife and I had the feeling that we were in some sleazy Noraebar in the shady parts of Seoul. The final straw was that one of the servers was smoking just outside the door when we left. The food was mediocre this time as well. Very disappointed :(

While the service is better than Hero, the price/value is not, nor is the quality of some dishes. Bibim bap is skimpy on the meat and some of the ingredients are odd (cucumber instead of zucchini, shredded lettuce instead of sauted, seasoned spinach). The stews are served in such small clay pots, but other soups with noodles are larger. The bancham is okay; sometimes they serve good ones, other times not. The service is so much better than Hero Korean Steak House, and the food is the best than the competition on Decker Blvd. The quality and value sadly don't compare to what you get in the Korean district outside of Joint Base Lewis-McCord. Not even close. The Southeast US is sadly lacking in good, authentic Asian cuisine. Korean food is not usually this pricey and is more comforting with the flavorful broths/anchovy soup stock and delicious spices and herbs. I don't know why the places around here skimp so much. You get much better results if you shop for your own ingredients and cook for yourself.

Food is good most of the time but they are very stingy with the food. Last night I ordered a kimchichigae to go. Got home and half the quart container was empty and it is only made of cabbage seasoning and water with a little pork and tofu. I was not happy and they charged me 10 dollars for this! I could have went to the Korean supermarket and bought some kimchi and prepared a way better than this kimchichigae for less than 5 dollars in less than 10 minutes with a yield of two Full quarts. I hate stingy restaurants, especially when they are stingy with the dumbest, cheapest things!!!

Very good Korean food--authentic and inexpensive. I'm pretty critical because I grew up eating delicious Korean food, so I just Korean restaurants pretty meticulously. The kimchi is good--on the fresher side, which I prefer. The other banchan (side dishes) are pretty great. Love the kimchi pancakes. Soft tofu soup is good, but the broth isn't quite as rich or as spicy as I like. Galbi had great flavor, but was a wee bit on the dry side the last time I had it. Yukaejang is excellent. Still my favorite Korean place in Columbia!

Tried it the first time today. Very impress! It’s better than some even in Atlanta. Dishes are not very heavy in sauces and they give decent portions with a great variety of side dishes. Will definitely come back.

Go-to place for Korean food. Good dishes here include grilled spicy pork, octopus, seafood spicy noodle, and some jeongols. The number of sidedishes are impressive but some of them are not fresh. For example some are too dried and tough. Should not be on table if they are not in a good condition.

Some of the best bulgogi on the international boulevard. Plenty of Kim chi sides available as well. The spicy pork lunch box is the best buy for the hungry diner. They offer many other traditional Korean dishes that look great. I had a pleasant and filling dining experience.

My wife and I come here a lot with friends. The food is great! I would have given this place 5 stars originally but lately the place has felt less welcoming. The original couple that ran the place were really nice (and they still are when we get them) but since about 3-4 months ago they hired help and that person is terrible. She (the help) always acts like we are wasting her time by having to serve my friends and me. When we get our check, it seems to be with an air of "good riddance". I'll still go because I like the food but I will not be going as often.

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. Today was my first time visiting as I usually go to Obok, and our order was completely messed up. I ordered a mackerel dish that was supposed to be chargrilled and they gave me fried mackerel with soup. My mom ordered squid and got octopus. I mentioned this to the server and he ignored me. Mind you his English was horrible to the point that he has to point at stuff and i dont speak Korean. Time goes by and the guy never comes back. So we decided to go to the register to get a ticket. Then I see the buss lady come to my table and I mentioned to her I hadn't touched the food and wanted to put it in a to go plate. She still through my food away. So I explained I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't order and eat but I'll pay for the other things I did eat which were appetizers. She decided to take my fish out the trash and tried to give it ti me to go. Long story short they called the cops...i recorded everything. They basically got them to make what I wanted over and I paid. Then they decided once the cop left to not give me my food. Now it's being disputed at the bank whom my mother who witnessed the whole thing is the manager at. Video will be on YouTube once I get home.
