Great meal tonight at Halls Chophouse celebrating my son and daughter in laws birthday! You can't beat the dry aged rib eye with the truffle butter! The sides are big enough for more than two people! Drinks, desserts , and sides are perfect portions for three or four! Don't forget the French pressed coffee! Fabulous! Valet service is a must! Service is outstanding! Will definitely be back soon!,

I have been a huge fan of Hall's in Charleston for years. This was my first trip to their Greenville location. I came away with the same sense of great satisfaction. A high end fine dining experience delivered in a pretty setting and with excellent service. Not as good as C'ton but certainly not disappointing. It's expensive but it delivers.

Halls is an exceptional dining experience! The hospitality, the atmosphere, and the food is simply outstanding. I love that they present the different types of meat/aging processes tableside so diners can make the best selection. The menu is a la carte, but the side selections are ample for sharing with 2, 3 or even 4, not to mention they're delicious. This is high-dining at it's finest! So looking forward to the next visit!

Lunch on a beautiful Saturday. Certainly not the service we are accustomed to in Charleston. We had two waiters but only saw one the entire time. Had to flag down the waitress to get a strawberry for my mimosa. Steak was to be medium rare. After first bite of the middle it became a medium to done steak. We always enjoy Halls and while it was nice... it wasn’t the experience we used to.

Went for brunch, the French toast was better than the best french toast I could have imagined. So light and fluffy but still crispy. We got the mimosas with the 3 different juices and it was superb. Whoever decided to use espresso marscapone on the fench toast should be given a key to the city or a nobel prize.

First time there. It was good. Hubs was expecting a little more from the prime rib. I had shrimp and grits. It was good. No way anyone could eat 4 course meal and you really want to leave room for dessert!Chocolate cake was awesome!

Too much to post the whole awful experience...Wait staff was WONDERFUL. However. Our server looked scared to death when we spoke to the manager about the whole table having nearly inedible salty steaks. Management was absolutely rude, to a point of it being an obvious attitude, complete with nasty facial expressions. I have never experienced anything like this. We thought we were on candid camera at first. Both the male and female managers were rude, but the "general manager" acted so disproportionately nasty in relativity to the situation that my mouth dropped open. The views here were fantastic but it was embarrassing to have tried to conduct a business dinner and have such poor management with little regard to returning customers.

Nice place next to Falls Park.. Food is good though my medium rare ribeye was on the rare side. The private room upstairs is not very conducive for meetings when they have live music playing directly below as the glass wall is not sealed. Free Valet parking in the back

This was a rather disappointing dinner. First off, the service was phenomenal and definitely 5 stars. Excellent job by the waiter and the GM. This is why we still tipped 20% (almost $40). The biggest reason we came to this restaurant especially on our anniversary was because of its reputation for having high end, aged steak. My wife had the 8oz. fillet mignon and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. It came out as medium and she said that it tasted "just ok". I ordered the Kansas City 20oz. steak and ordered it medium. It came out medium rare and charred. I tried eating a bite of it, but I couldn't get past that charred taste. I asked the waiter to cook a different piece which he happily obliged. About 15-20 min later, the waiter came back with a new steak and asked me to cut into it to make sure that it was cooked right. Once I cut into it, it again looked medium rare. By this time, my wife had already finished her meal and I told the waiter that I would just eat the steak the way it was. The steak was rather tough and not at all what I expected for a $69 steak. I really had to put some force in that steak knife to cut through. It was more on par with Applebee's. We will likely not come back to this restaurant. It was not worth spending $220 for a sub par steak dinner. However, I do want to reiterate how great the service was. The GM brought us free glasses of champagne and a slice of cake which was outstanding. This is why we still tipped well. We will try another steakhouse in the area and see if we can find a high end steak.

Hands down FANTASTIC! The best service I have ever experienced. There are so many staff members eagerly ready to serve you make your experience wonderful. One of the managers, Patrick, was very accommodating, as well as our server, Chris. We were celebrating a birthday, but we don't drink alcohol, so Patrick and Chris made us "mocktails" to toast. It's honestly worth price alone from the service. You feel so special. WOW!

I went here during restaurant week and I was not disappointed! Most upscale places tend to treat you differently when you go for restaurant week because they assume you can't afford their regular menu, but not this place. The waiters and staff were very attentive. They took the time to explain all the specials as well as the cuts of beef and how they vary in flavor. The manager was even nice enough to give my friends and I free champagne when he found out it was bday! The food was amazing and the steak was some of the best I had in my life; it was very well seasoned and cooked just the way I asked. Needless to say I'll definitely come back I highly recommend Halls for their ambience, service and of course the food!

I should start out by saying the $$ on the google review is incorrect. Halls is priced up there with Ruth Chris. The chopped salad was wonderful but everything else was bland at best. The asparagus was slightly undercooked with no seasoning, the mashed potatoes were alright, and the steak didn’t impress me very much. Very clean restaurant, nice atmosphere, phenomenal view of Downtown, and great staff. If the food had a little more flavor it’d be a homerun.

The dry aged NY Strip cooked medium with truffle butter was easily the best steak I have EVER had anywhere. Also the pepper jack creamed corn skillet side is a must have. The service was impeccable - we had 3 different staff regularly check on us throughout the meal. Atmosphere downstairs near the bar area was quite loud and very lively, including a very good guitarist. A truly wonderful dining experience - will definitely return!

Amazing service and views. I ordered the rack of lamb with truffle butter, highly recommend adding the butter it is so good and full of truffle flavor. The lamb was cooked perfectly a nice medium rare. For sides a must get is the creamed corn it's a show stopper. The wine list is great and the somilliar is there to help select a perfect pairing.

Fantastic!!! My wife and I attended here for our 1 year anniversary. The food was amazing, service was great! The atmosphere was very upscale while not being snobby. Casual dress attire is completely fine, as is being dressed very formally. The wait staff from the hostess to the waiter assistants were very professional and courteous. Be prepared to pay for a fine dining experience, utninwould gladly pay again.

Clearly the owner invests enormous amounts of time training their staff to do things right, because it’s all done to perfection. I went here for my birthday a few days ago after hearing how wonderful my parent's experience was when they came for their anniversary. I told them right away that we were here for my birthday, and they brought it up once in the beginning but never mentioned anything about it. For a restaurant that is supposed to pride themselves on celebrations, I was completely disappointed. The food is good- the only reason I am giving them one star- but for the price, the service should be impeccable as well. I will not be coming back, and do not recommend it unless you are okay with being forgotten.

Steak and service was excellent. A bit too much panco on the skillet corn side. A bit too many stalks in the sweet and sour greens. They were able to accommodate to anything we asked but keep in mind this is an à la carte establishment.

Great place to hear some live music on a Saturday night! I've sat in the regular dining area a couple times, but I prefer the bar seating as it's more my taste. The lounge area close to the entrance is perfect for a nice, comfortable spot to sit back, enjoy a nice cocktail and they offer a great burger for $10 on their 'bar menu'. Steaks are great too but I prefer to get an after-dinner drink like an Irish coffee after strolling around the beautiful downtown Greenville. I save the steak nights for special occasions, so it's nice to have a place that offers cheaper eats but same great quality and beautiful elegant ambiance, right in the heart of downtown!

Everything was way over-the-top salty. Talk about having major stomach problems a few hours later. It could have been one chef who messed things up but for the price you pay things like this shouldn't happen. I will try it again in the future to see if the experience is any different.

Very nicely decorated. Gracious wait staff. Tiny table. My soup was so salty (I like salt) I could not eat it and it appeared about a quarter of a can of French fried onions were on top. They offered something else but if they’re not tasting it, well why gamble? My fish was tender but tasteless. The shrimp and grits were muddied with what I think was supposed to be a rhou but was like gravy. Simply not worth it in dollars or taste.

Well I WAS sad to see MY High Cotton go by the way side UNTIL I lunched at Hall's!!! The crab bisque was rich and I swear a claw was still in there pinching it was so fresh, the split of lobster and prime rib sandwiches with my dining companion was filling (the server even spilt it for us which was going the extra mile), BUT the DESSERT - YESSSSS!! When Halls Chophouse is lit up at night you can really notice it when you are walking by on the river walk at the Reedy River in downtown Greenville. This place has great steaks. Be prepared to pay$$$$, but they are excellent. Cooked exactly right and very tasty. Sides are served family style. We had 9 people in our group and 4 sides was plenty for us. Service was also excellent and at one point it seemed like all 9 of us had an individual waiter/waitress. My wife had scallops with the risotto and it was also excellent. Afterwards we hung out at the bar for a while. They had live music, and it was standing room only. Lots of suits in the crowd, but that's about what I would expect at this type of place.

Once for being raw, and when it came to back it was sliced in half - long ways. How do you give someone a steak like that?

I had a 530p reservation and got there at 5p. They were able to accommodate my early arrival. I was seated and provided a presentation of the various cuts of steak. My wait staff was attentive and gave me enough room to enjoy my food, yet stay close enough should I need anything. I've been here a few times now and have to say this weekend's visit fell a bit short of expectations. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was served cold to us first and then quickly replace with a regular bowl instead of another skillet. In our Porterhouse, the filet side was overcooked, which was surprising as I am used to perfectly cooked steaks at Halls. Service was fine, but not the wow I had experienced in prior visits as well. We were asked four times at the beginning what occasion we were celebrating, but afterwards it was never mentioned. Given the price of the meal, I'd have serious pause about revisiting soon considering there are many decent alternatives in the Greenville area.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my dad here tonight. The food and service was phenomenal. Travis, our server, was probably the best one I've ever had anywhere I've eaten, the rest of the staff was awesome as well. The manager Patrick even brought us complimentary champagne for the birthday, he was extremely nice as well. Definitely one of the best meals and best experiences I've had in a restaurant anywhere. Also everything was quick, my drinks never ran out, and our food was prepared as quickly as I'd expect it to be. We had an appetizer, soups and salads, entrees, as well as coffee and dessert. We arrived at 7:30, and our valet had us back in our car by 9:40. Very impressive.

I'm Just A Local Guy Doing Local Things

I’m just going to get right to it. Our waiter, JB was impeccable. My wife ordered the Petite Fillet with Pepper Jack Cream Corn and Asparagus. I ordered the Bone-In Rib Eye and the Loaded Mashed Potatoes. The Pepper Jack Cream Corn and the Loaded Mashed Potatoes is to die for, they was simply better than the steaks. The only reason why I’m giving four stars is because the Pepper Jack Cream Corn and they Loaded Mashed Potatoes outshined our steaks. Which honestly that really isn’t a bad thing.

We came in for happy hour, which was lovely - sat by the window and people watched. No specials or drink specials, but they have the full drink menu and had charcuterie boards on the bar to share. My complaint was about the service. I ordered a glass of wine, and our waitress said that she had a half bottle if I was planning on a second glass. What she failed to mention was that my $10 glass of wine - even if I had two - wasn't even close in price to the $35 half-bottle she was suggesting. Her "oh this half bottle makes more sense, if you're having more than one glass" logic was clearly skewed in her favor. Sure, I should have asked. But, that's the kind of shady upselling that I wouldn't expect from a restaurant of this quality.

Elegant dining at its best. The steaks were butter tender. The collard greens were near home cooking seasoned. But the spinach was the the talk if the table. The side dish servings could serve 4 as advertised. Going back many more occasions.

Amazing...all of the time . My husband plays here. I go and watch him play and occasionally we get a night out together and come to Halls . The food is unreal, the service is awesome, friendly and fun loving and the bar is so nice. It is a really great date night inviroment .

We had a wonderful evening here! We arrived in town late and couldn’t find any restaurant open for us (3 moms) to feed 4 teenage girls. When we popped in Halls to ask if they had a table (and minded if we brought teenagers in at the late hour) one of the managers, Patrick, said he would love for us to come in. He set us up in a semi private area overlooking the main dining room and the beautiful river. He even brought fancy “drinks” for the girls and champagne for the moms to toast! The wait staff was equally amazing and kind! The food was incredible and we had the most unexpected perfect dinner and evening! We will forever talk about this evening and will return soon!!

Oh my. What an amazing experience in a small south Carolina town. The sommelier was the most mind blowing experience I've had in a high end restaurant. He asked what I liked in ice cream and how loud I like my music... And by witchcraft he produced the perfect bottle in my price range. The lounge was great and the locals are super friendly. Greenville, I miss you.

Great atmosphere. The food was amazing. Staff knowledgeable. The only downside was a very long wait for our food from the time of order. It could of been an off night or staffing issue, I don't know as it was my first time there. I would for sure give them another try.

Had the best dinner ever! Halls Chop House did NOT disappoint! My husband decided to take me there for our 22nd wedding anniversary. The food was awesome from the salad to the dessert! Stephen Eddington was the best server. He made our first experience awesome! We even got complimentary champagne and chocolate raspberry cake. I’m not a big steak eater, but I can’t express how delicious it was!!! Best lobster I’ve had in a long time! Everyone was so nice and so down to earth from the time we got there til the time we left! My new place to go!!!

Traveling on business alone, means eating dinner alone. NOT my favorite. I'm happy to report, not only was the food excellent, all of the staff and the management made me feel very welcome! The atmosphere feels upscale, but the attitudes of the staff felt like home! Extremely enjoyable experience!

Second time there. Second time giving a 5 star rating. Service is as great as the food, FANTASTIC. We celebrated a birthday there and they really just were so friendly wishing happy birthday and most importantly making our evening special. Wife and I have decided to spend all of our celebrations there. Food recommendations: Mac and cheese is really good and so is the cream corn platter. Those are just sides because all the entrees that I've had were wonderful.

Amazing experience. Couldn't have been more please with our server Robert's attentiveness. The manager came by and introduced himself. Later he brought us champagne. The dry aged steak was absolutely amazing. I ordered it Rare/Warm and it was perfectly cooked. This was without doubt the best steak I have ever had. Robert also brought us cake later in the evening. I don't know what it was but It was also, absolutely amazing. The portions are large. We should have ordered less. If I could, I'd make Hall's a weekly visit.

Excellent service and food. Danielle was very lovely, attentive and pleasant. It was our first visit there and she was patient with us and took the time to explain cuts of meat to the grandkids (12 year old boy and 8 year old girl). Grandson got the 16 oz. wet aged Ribeye done medium rare and shared about 5 oz. with sister. They thoroughly enjoyed their meals which included broccolini, asparagus, loaded mashed potatoes and one of the best Mac and cheese our granddaughter has ever had (and she's somewhat of a Mac and cheese connoisseur). My salmon was excellent. Desserts were great. Chocolate cake was bigger than my granddaughter's head (and she has a big head). The complimentary valet parking was a very nice surprise. Very nice dining experience. Although a little pricey, we can't complain.

Okay, so here it is...4 people, 2 fish & 2 steaks, 2 bottles of wine and 2 deserts..$500+++...Location excellent! Hostess excellent! Atmosphere excellent! Food excellent! All 5 star that compares with the best of the best in the area...Service though, forgetful. Friendly but really forgetful... One time, okay, sorry. Two times, come on now, really? Three times or more and ouch! Time to regroup and retrain...don’t get me wrong, we had a wonderful time, just service simply wasn’t on par with everything else.
