Quiet, great food. No kids! I loved it.

Kevin Goldman

Fantastic experience and delicious food. I love this place. Danish's is a great destination for a romantic dinner or just a night out.

John Gardner

The vegetarian curry is phenomenal, just the right amount of spice. The chai is also very good, with a strong clove and cardamom flavor.

Brandi Rozier

They close when they want! The manager is rude! He talks about people when they walk out! He handles everyones food without washing his hands! Not very professional at all!!!! Just nasty!!!!

TJ Jenks

Excellent food, and always an interesting dining experience. Food is always very fresh and well prepared. Authentic Indo-Pak quisine, and the Italian food he serves is very good too. Don't let the service freak you out, the food is worth it.

Best Indian food around

Greg Boben

Danesh himself greeted me at the door and was very inviting. Everything from the samosa to the lamb saag to the rice was delicious. He is obviously passionate about providing a wonderful atmosphere and even better food. If you're in Greenwood for business, get off the beaten path and pay him a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Joseph Mahon

A delicious samosa, hot and fresh with a savory dipping sauce. A mouth-watering piece of tandoori chicken and a heaping dish of lean beef curry. A side dish of fragrant, vegetable biryani rice. The best onion chutney you've ever tasted. And the perfect finish, a cup of steaming, spicy chai tea. In Greenwood, you might ask. Yes, I enjoyed this tonight. And there are so many other choices, expertly prepared. You must try this or return again if it has been a while since you dined with Danish. This hidden gem is not a family type of restaurant. It's more a place for Mom and Dad on their date night, for company dinners or a group of friends. Children will likely not enjoy this type of dining experience. In fact, I don't recall seeing a family with children eating at Danish's when I have been there. But for a quiet, delicious, Indian/Pakistani meal, this may very well be the best place in the entire Upstate of SC.

Arguably the best restaurant I have ever been too. The owner has a colorful personality and great story, and the Indo-Pak food is amazing.

Please ignore the review of Tabbi Crenshaw, I happened to be dining the same Friday as her family of 12. Danish's website clearly states not for children and if you have a large party to call in advance- Tabbi not only brought several kids, which were very disruptive and rambunctious, she also did not call ahead, barging in with a party of 12; Tabbi and her family then proceeded to be very rude- cursing at Danish himself and using vulgar language and excessive loudness and use of phones (which had their flashes on), she also proclaimed that Danish was, "going to poison her food" and left without leaving a tip. Tabbi is the prime example of what a bad customer is- do not be that person. Danish's is NOT a family restaurant, it is a fine dining establishment meant for small parties looking to expand their tastes. I've been to Danish's several times and every time has been nothing short of perfect. Danish not only cooks and serves he also shows, those who lack knowledge of culture, the ways the food is put together- he also is extremely friendly and funny often times offering complementary items for simply asking, "what should I try?" I recommend Danish's to anyone looking to taste authentic Indian-Pakistani cuisine and for those less adventurous- though I heavily urge you to try the Indian-Pakistani cuisine- he also provides a solid range of Italian dishes. A truly amazing experience and one I recommend to anyone who is looking for a wonderful night out. (Edit as of January 14th 2017) Sean Ferris, I am not the owner of the restaurant, I was the young fellow who's night, along with most other patrons evening, you practically ruined due to your rude- in concise family and ability to not control children. I know the things from my statement above because Danish spoke to me personally of how disrespectful you and your family were- while also being a witness to it. For you to stoop to the level of name calling and insulting, along with threatening the owners business, you have no moral consciousness; next time you feel the need to try and create issues at a fine establishment, please refrain from lying and pressing your personal insecurities to the world via Internet- since you do not want to take responsibility for your malicious actions/intents. Best regards from a 19 year old man whom you might want to avoid argumentative discussions.

Outstanding, leave the kids at home and treat yourselves to incredible cuisine. Had the chicken curry with vegetable samosa, perfect heat and spice.

I'm originally from the DC area, and have had many experiences eating at a wide array of restaurants, plenty of them being Middle Eastern and Indian (as these are my favorite culinary regions), in a wide range of prices. I usually won't take the time to write a review unless my experience was particularly horrible, or particularly exceptional. This was the ladder. I've been here twice and Danish, the owner and proprietor, has both times been a gracious and inviting host. The decor, music, lighting, and general atmosphere are all very appropriate. This is not an americanized restuarant with Puerto Ricans in the back making "Indian food". It's almost like this is the man's home, and he's inviting you in for a traditional and lovingly prepared meal. He is in charge in the kitchen, and his passion absolutely shows in his food. The samosas are some of the best I've ever had (I've had literally hundreds). The naan is crispy and chewy, just perfect- and the onion chutney it's served with is vibrant, spicy and fresh. Chicken tandoori has a deep, rich flavor and the beef curry (both times) was just fantastic- rich, spicy, bold, and hearty. I'd recommend the lamb above anything else, though. He says he doesn't always have lamb (I believe he buys all the ingredients himself- as the menu is small/limited and each time the curry had different vegetables in it...I love this fact), and often times people will call in with that order so he can special make it. I was lucky enough to come in on my most recent visit when he had lamb chops available and I ordered them without hesitation. They were cooked to absolute perfection: and I mean...perfection. SO tender, SO flavorful, and perfectly pink throughout the meat. Not too rare, not too done...just perfectly medium-medium/rare. Now, I haven't tried the Italian side of the menu, but based on this man's skills in the kitchen, I can only assume it's delicious as well. Oh, and the chai is delicious as well- a great end to your meal. He brews it nice and strong, and gives it an appropriate level of sweetening- not overdone like some places will. Read his story on the back of the menu, the newspaper article on the wall, and speak with this man for all of a minute and I think you'll get a pretty good feel for who he is. Sitting down and talking with this man, you feel like he might be your Pakistani best friend's father. He's hilarious and a little bit eccentric, and his personality definitely makes the whole experience even better. I'd come back here any day of the week (if I could afford to eat out every day) just for the food alone- but end up staying for a glass of chai and conversation.

My wife and I were passing through town and wanted something that wasn't a chain restaurant. We found this place online and it lived up to all the previous reviews. The owner served us personally and gave us an experience that we won't soon forget. The food is delicious and well worth the cost, which was less than you would expect for the high quality.

Andrew Schwendemann

Chris Frontera

Great food but gave food told as "complimentary" then billed an extra $10 per person over menu. Get itemized bill. We did not receive one. But the food was great .

Terri Thompson

Food not for everyone.

Tabbi Crenshaw

We went to this restaurant a few days ago for my husband's grandmother's birthday. Long story short. We were told that we should have gotten a babysitter, we were threatened by the owner, and the food wasn't worth it. Save yourself some money.

Maxwell Anderson

Great place and great food. Owner really takes pride in his food. More of an experience than your typical resturant.

Tina Torongeau

Excellent food! Amazing service. We will be going back

We went there with some friends and really enjoyed it. The food was superb and the atmosphere was really good. I would definitely recommend Danish's restaurant if you are looking for a place to go eat and get the best that Greenwood has to offer.

Barry Young

Won't accept a group of 9 without any other customers drove a hour to eat here horrible

Angela Pittman

Extremely condescending and impolite owner. Not worth ever going when the service doesn’t match the price.

Kim Dukes

Wonderful service and food.

Thanks but no Thanks! Never again! I took my mother and daughter to dine at Danish. The food was good and authentic but the owner was very rude! First he very openly told us he did not like that my daughter was with us, and had he been busier he would not allow her to dine. Then he treated us like we were idiots and assumed we did not know how to eat the food. He proceeded to tell me that children weren't allowed because they were disturbing and parents do not discipline their children. He proceeded to tell me that if she made a mess I would be responsible for cleaning it up and picking things up off the floor. Niether of which I needed to do. My four year old is not a hellion. Then the owner said that next time we came in we needed to not bring my daughter and that to share food with a four year old would cost $5 extra.... This extra cost was not for extra food or service, just circumstantial. He asked what I did for a living and I informed him I was a chef and director of dining for the largest food service company in the world. He laughed and without knowing my condition told me I should cut back and needed to trim down. He does not have to worry about me visiting his place anymore. I can get insulted anywhere else for free. Thanks but no thanks. Terrible customer appreciation.

Bess Thompson

Beef samosas and beef curry, outstanding!

Darren R

NOT KID FRIENDLY I had same experience as others. It was for a private bday dinner. Called ahead and made arrangements. It was made clear who is attending. When got there the night of the dinner the owner advised kids not welcome. We drove an hour as well did the other parties in the family. DEFINITELY NOT KID FRIENDLY.

This place is excellent. You have to experience it to believe it. The food is delicious, the host is pretty salty. Go and enjoy your meal!

Amanda Moore

I haven’t been to the actually place and I don’t normally make reviews but I willl not be going at all to the restaurant due to the fact that the owner or manger or who ever answered the phone and when I asked a question he was rude and nasty to me so why would I even want to put myself in that place if he is going to treat me like that on The phone

Best restaurant in Greenwood by far!!!! Food is awesome along with the service!

Sandra alegre

This is a charming place to have a personal dinner with your loved one. The owner was very kind, attentive and accommodating! The restrooms were clean too. We are from Georgia and we plan to dine here again whenever we pass through town.

B Grant

One of the more interesting restuarants I have the pleasure of trying! The indian food is amazing, the wine selections are perfect, the chai is superb, and the chef/owner is an amazing chef and a memorable character. Dont miss this place if you plan to be nearby!

Suzanne Lowe

Best restaurant in town & anywhere around! Awesome Indo-Pak food in intimate setting with personable service! I've had everything on the menu except the Italian food & so far everything has been amazing! I try to go at least once a month but wish it could be more often! Danish can make anything taste good!

Lightning

Danish, words can't explain the genuine sincerity of you and your restaurant. The Lamb Curry was phenomenal as well as everything that complemented it. It was a breath of fresh air to enjoy your place. Thank You and take care.

Brazen Tiger

Had a delicious and delightful dinner! Service was excellent, with time to talk before and after the meal. Restaurant was cozy and quiet with only adults and no kids. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Nicholas Nowark

Danish was more than friendly to our party. He was courteous and pleasant during our entire dinner. The food was fantastic and was served fresh. You can see that Danish truly cares about sharing his food, culture, and passion with his customers. I'm looking forward to visiting Danish's again.

Melanie Golding

This restaurant is not about the typical money making cheap food. This is about an eating experience where no expense is spared from the preparation with fresh ingredients from the garden and a mastery of traditional Iandian foods. Service was above and beyond our expectations. Danish creates a true family experience. Our meal was personally created to our tastes and the flavours went beyond our expectations. We will be back.

My family traditionally orders our Christmas meal from Danish's and it's become a major highlight for us each year. It's also the establishment of choice for us to dine with parents and adult friends when visiting SC. Couldn't be a better option for fine dining and excellent cuisine - every dish is carefully crafted and beautifully served but the real event of the evening is Danish himself. You are made to feel like a guest in his home and the more you sit back, relax and let the evening unfold, the more amazing the whole dining experience becomes!

I was in town for business and wanted to find some where to eat out of the ordinary. I found a place the offered an exceptional dinning experience. Danish was an exceptional host and his love of food is very evident. My meal was a memorable experience. Looking forward to my next time I'm in Greenwood so I can return.

Thanksgiving I was rushed to the hospital. The meal prepared at home and guests who had been invited were put on hold. Surrounded by my family, how to save the day and take care of hunger pangs became a priority. Enter Danish to the rescue. True to the meaning of the day Danish showed how a stranger could show compassion and reach out to help those in need. We were totally blown away by Danish's thoughtfulness and generosity. He provided a delicious India - Pakistani meal, at no cost, for my family and I. Now months later my husband and I had the opportunity to go round to Danish to thank him in person for such a kind and sensitive gesture. What a treat occurred. We both had samosas, meat and vegetable, followed by a delectable lamb curry. A delicious and satisfying meal was enjoyed by us both. If you enjoy Indian food and are passing through Greenwood, South Carolina, I highly recommend stopping for dinner at Danish's. Barbara

Good Indian /Pakistani food. Danish is a character and provides great quality food and drinks.

Sean's bad at gaming

Please ignore "Benjamin" he is actually the owner of Danish's. A customer would not know whether another called ahead (we did) the size of our reservation (12 our actual party was 10 people) The lights were shone onto the food after the owner told one of us "you can be mad. See what I do!" Which at a restaurant does sound like harmful manipulation of food.. "Benjamin" is correct in that this is not a family restaurant, it's a house. If you want good Indian food in a pleasant environment without being insulted or belittled by a man, angry with the world because he cannot be a doctor, try out Saffron's in Greenville, SC. You'll likely find it to be worth the drive, as it also has more options and better food.
