REVIEWS OF Charleston Grill IN South Carolina

Steven Hardwick

Service was remarkably wonderful and the service fan. Andrew was too notch, the decor was refined but the food was incredibly tasty.

Heather Hilgendorf

Fantastic meal with excellent service

Joe Christian

An amazing meal! The six course tasting menu was spectacular, with wine pairings on point. Manager, Graham Flanary, and his staff were the epitome of hospitality and class as well as expertly knowledgeable about both the food and wine. A wedding anniversary experience I will not forget.

Nannette Staropoli

Classic supper club. Pricey but worth the experience. Outstanding service. Innovative, fresh dishes.

Barbara Van Elsen

Top quality everything! Food, service and music were all top notch. We had the 6-course tasting menu and it was wonderful.

Joe Maniscalco

Wonderful experience. The staff are spot on! The meal was killer! I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the sturgeon, incredible flavors! Plus the Belmond is so elegant. A must if in Charleston!

Leo Bentley

My HH and I choose to have the Tasting Menu with wine pairing and it was a fabulous meal. The Sturgeon was delicious, a fish we don’t have very often ~ it was a treat. We had 6 courses and each wine was outstanding. The service was exceptional and they made sure my food was Gluten Free. I even had Gluten Free bread served which is very unusual. This was our favorite restaurant in Charleston of the 6 different restaurants we went to for dinner.

Gary Dahl

Waiter, ambiance, and band was great. Food was very bland, enough to make me question how Zagat rates this restaurant's food a 4.8 and calls it "the gold standard" for southern dining. Didn't stick to my rule to never dine in any restaurant located in a hotel... big mistake.

Leslie Worley

Exceeded our expectations. Wonderful Service & Food!!

At PoeticallySaved

The snapper is awesome! The brussel sprouts and vegetable plate are also great. I loved the music. Nice place for an OCCASSIONAL date night.

A must visit when visiting Charleston! Incomparable service, and fabulous food

Lisa Heinrich - Estabrook

Very elegant. Treated like roality.

Shawn Pugliese

The experience started with two warm smiles at the entrance. The interior design screams luxury surrounded by the ambient sounds of live jazz like something coming out of a jazz bar in New York City at night. The staff seem to work fluently like a perfect symphony. They always check on you so that you remain delighted. This restaurant definitely focuses on your experience overall. The chef, well she clearly knows what she is doing. She has an innovative way of creating a fusion of Southern food with French cuisine. From start to finish, precision is what comes to mind. If you are looking for a restaurant to celebrate something important and want an experience that will last for a lifetime, then definitely come here and ask for Andrew. Well Done~

Dulari Smith

We recently went to this restaurant for dinner while in Charleston. The restaurant is gorgeous with excellent impeccable service. It is a great choice for a celebratory dinner or a special occasion. The menu was nicely laid out with excellent choices. Each course was beautiful and delicious. Service was professional and added to our enjoyment. We each ordered something different and all of us were very happy. While visiting Charleston make sure you go .

My husband said this was excellent and I agreed. It was a special dinner for my birthday. We enjoyed the scallops with a salad and gratin potatoes. Definitely will return if we get the chance.

Hubs and I spent our 20th Anniversary at Charleston Grill. It’s located perfectly and conveniently at the Belmond Charleston Place. They provide contemporary Southern fare with an air of sophistication. We were greeted with a lovely Jazz Quartet playing as we enjoyed our cocktails and starters. It was surprising when the waiter brought us our “Chef’s Taste” which was roasted beets with a Squid Ink Aioli prior to our starters.

Alexandra Linton

Super restaurant with great service and food. Elegant without being stuffy. Not sure if the guitarist and violinist are staples but was an added bonus with original renditions of modern music from Simon and Garfunkel to Ed Sheeran. Would love to make a Sunday dinner regular outing.

Erin Brady

High end restaurant, with impeccable service and very good food. They also have a very good handle on gluten free diet requirement, including GF bread! A very good choice in Charleston.

Hal Felch

Exquisite food and wonderful service. The live jazz music was awesome! Probably more of a $$$ than $$, but well worth it.

Katie McCullough

Charleston Grill is the best restaurant I've ever been to! My husband and I had our wedding night dinner here and it was fantastic! Everything about the evening was perfect. The food, the atmosphere, and the service. The very professional staff made our special day perfect. They really went above and beyond. Special flower table piece, a nice card, desert and drinks. I tell everyone from home that this is the best restaurant I have ever been to with the BEST food! Nothing can compare to the hospitality in South Carolina! Very memorable place! Thank you.

Stephan Kutzer

My favorite place in Charleston

Hunter Lloyd

WILL NOT BE RETURNING. expensive & meager portions. baffled at how small portions were. cheesecake was literally four bites and my ENTRE of scallops consisted of 4 medium sized scallops. seemed like they were compensating for small portions with presentation.

John Romashko

Hands down one of the top meals I have ever had. I highly recommend the 8 course tasting menu. Each plate moved to the next level of heavenly. Superb resturant at all levels.

Stephen Morgan

My wife and I dined here last night and it was truly one of the very best dining experiences in my life! Superb food, and waiter was awesome. I had the crab cake for appetizer and rib eye steak for entree. Both were first class. My wife had a salad and the Halibut, both first class. All in all truly one of the best dining experiences ever. Thank you Charleston Grill.

Phyllis Watson

This restaurant was saved on our trip list because of the great reviews. It is about 6-7 miles away from historic downtown but not incredibly out of the way. The outside looks small and rundown but inside there is treasure. The food here is delectable, very well-prepared with great seasoning. The chicken in the chicken and waffles is pecan-crusted.

Josue Ramos

Great food. Very romantic and fancy. I went there with my wife for fancy dates very often.

Thomas Durst

Still the best meal and service in Charleston. Celebrated my wife's birthday tonight and it was the best meal I've had in at least five years. They were very thoughtful and attentive to the occasion. Well worth the visit if you live here or if you're vacationing.

Charlie Berycloth

Delicious food!

Nicholas Kehriotis

We had an amazing time having dinner here. They have great options of 4, 6, or 8 course dinners. We went with the 6 course dinner and thought that was outstanding value for the price. The wine pairing option’s of $75, $150, or $300 were a great choice as well, we went with the $75 and thought the wines were fantastic and plentiful. Coming from the Napa Valley, we were thoroughly impressed with the ambiance, friendly waiting staff, and quality. Highly recommended

Charlie M

Great food and service

Shawnette Graham

Made us feel very special for our anniversary! The food and the service were nothing short of amazing!

Brian MB

In May 13th around 10 o’clock.....Great bar and staff. Really enjoyed the music and drinks but what really impressed me was when I forgot my credit card and the manager chased me down for 2 blocks to make sure I got it back. Thank you! We will be back.

David Klase

Excellent food and service.

Nick Hayes

We ate here on our honeymoon and it was a bit more expensive than we expected, but the food was delicious and we did not leave hungry! My wife and I both got the prime rib and it was so tender that you didn't even need a knife. The flavors were amazing. This is not somewhere that we could eat all of the time, but for a wonderful upscale meal, occasionally, this is a delicious choice!

Andrew Grahame

Not great for money paid, wouldn’t return

Danny Hughes

Excellent service & really good food

Tracy Schwamb

AMAZING Food and Service!!!

WD Stewart

High quality of food and service. Sturgeon served in brown butter was excellent. Charred octopus was not as exciting. Listed as an appetizer, I was expecting a warm presentation. It was actually served as a salad, cold. Octopus is more chewy when cold.

Paul Stern

Wonderful treatment by the best staff for our 15th anniversary. The food consistently exceeds expectations. But I think they gave away our chocolate easel saying "Happy Anniversary" to the table next to us :( -1 star

ivo nikov

Excellent food and service

William Field

This place is awesome treated us like royalty!

Courtney Jusnes

Amazing food even better service! The staff worked together flawlessly to make our 10th anniversary dinner perfect. Everything we were served was devine. I am very much looking forward to our next visit to Charleston!

Jonathan Kobrin

Good, not great.

Letecia Crawford

Beautiful, but pricey.

Steve Garrett

Service was great, the food was excellent all accept the brussel sprouts, too tough when grilled.

Victoria McCrie

One of the best meals I've ever had and those dining with me said the same. Started with a bottle of Zinfandel called Black Chicken which was outstanding. Had the crabcake appetizer- buttery fresh crab chunks melt in your mouth. Also had the foie gras which was bursting with flavour enhanced by apple and cinnamon. Shared a bite of my husband's rib eye stake which was done medium rare and found it to be perfectly cooked and robust in flavour. Excellent rib eye and highly recommended. The roasted brussel sprouts and augraton potatoes are a bonus that won't disappoint. If you want to splurge a little for dinner then this should be a top contender.

Roger Moore

With seven others we dined last night at The Charleston Grill. This restaurant is one of Charleston's finest. I remember dining here for the first time in 1999 and the food and service were memorable then. It is a fine dining restaurant with leather, wood, elegantly appointed and lovely art adorning the walls. The ambiance is further enhanced by a...

Superior in every way! Food Service Atmosphere all work together

Thomas Young

Wonderful food and service.

Fel Fray

Wonderful atmosphere and even better food. I was blown away!

Claire WithLove

We chose Charleston Grill for the last dinner of our Spoleto Festival/Memorial Day Weekend getaway. Atmosphere: Traditional, wood paneling, fancy, very nice and quiet. The jazz duo added to the atmosphere and was very enjoyable. The inside patio with greenery was nice to sit next to. Service: Really impeccable. I don't think an empty glass or plate sat more than 30 seconds before someone (not even our two waiters) came to whisk it away. Food: Ahi tuna was small and light. Steaks were tender and good. We got the smallest cut, and they were plenty. They came with asparagus and we ordered a side of the brussel sprouts which we shared. Entrees seemed a bit limited, steak (different cuts), fish, scallops, vegetarian. Food was more traditional as compared to Circa 1886 which we greatly enjoyed. The key lime cheesecake was light and very worthy. The creme brulee was also good and came with blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. The medley of complementary desserts at the end was a very nice touch. Bar: The wine prices were a bit out of our comfort zone, and we already had two dinners with wine, so we ordered several mixed drinks which were very interesting and tasty. The bar area was impressive. Charleston Grill is an excellent fine dining experience a

First name service in first class setting

Stella Mandagi

Superb dinner @CharlestonGrill. Ambiance, cocktails, appetizers, main course, and service was spot on! It was an extremely satisfying experience. We'll be back for sure!

Russell Worrell

Excellent service and food, you will pay for the experience, but worth the money.

Mark Doman

From the Ahi to the foie gras, all was fantastic! Great job to Trevor.

Vincent Rigdon

Fine indeed. You get what you pay for.

Keith Applewhite

Amazing staff, yes people, great food loved it.

Flying Baybee

Took my fiance there for his birthday and it was a magical experience... Everyone was so nice, the Jazz was soothing and the food absolutely delicious!

Ksenia D

Loved everything! Great food and service!

Nancy BATES

Best experience. Go knowing the food is superior, restaurant itself is very nice. A must have dessert was the creme brule, best I ever had. Our wxpense was $157 and we had no alcohol. Great experience

Rachelle Calderin

Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. The service is outstanding!! They even have extra reading glasses in case you forget yours! Best amaretto sour and crab cake! Nothing like it.

Elizabeth Buzzard

We had an incredibly delicious and memorable dinner. The service was excellent. Worth the upscale pricing 100%. I highly recommend the halibut. One of the best meals we’ve ever had!

Judy Powell

Had dinner here last night after going to a concert and seeing Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons. I had the Ribeye Steak and my date had the Sea Scallops. It was delicious. For lack of words to describe all I can say is ,"almost as good as".

Alastair McKenzie

Luxurious restaurant - part of the upmarket Belmond Hotel complex - with seriously good dishes at serious prices. I was persuaded to tackle a 22 ounce Ribeye Steak. Delicious, but I only made it 2/3rds through! I like that Executive Chef, Michelle Weaver, refers to the restaurant as "she/her" when talking about it. (I was hosted on a press visit.)

Bill Gerke

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Worth every penny.

linda fatule

I love the old south, nice and different place

Angie Joslyn

Our dinner last night was phenomenal. To start, the asparagus soup and to share for the table we chose the cavatelli, which was delicious. The scallop entree was cooked to perfection and the beef tenderloin was to die for! Our service was first class all the way- a special thanks to Mickey for making me, my mom and sister feel extra special our last night in Charleston. We will definitely be back!

Donald Gauthier

Great food and atmosphere.

Stephen Graham

Dinner was exceptional. Wait staff is impeccable. Jazz band not too loud...in a word...this is a wonderful place

Kevin Henry

This place was a little pricey, but well worth the cost. The chef for the night Michelle Weaver had the best 6 course chefs choice entree that I could ever have. The first thing was some kind of deviled egg which was fabulous. The sea bass was out of this world and those lamp chops were to die for and so was the venison. I have to admit that this was the best meal that I have ever had. The waitress staff between Nika and Erin were a great duo. They were very energetic, and for being so young, extremely knowledgeable about the food, cosine in general and the hotel itself along with the sister hotel near Cancun. They were very nice and personable as well. If anyone wants an excellent customer experience, order the meal and ask for them to wait on you. All deserve a raise. Thanks so much. My wife and I live here and decided to try here, and so glad that we did.

G

Born and raised in Charleston. In my soon to be 51 years of life, this is my favorite restaurant of all Charleston restaurants, and there are many fine ones. Every time I eat here I feel like royalty. From the service to the food, there is none better

Matt Tracy

Really enjoyed our time here. It was a perfect night for a once-a-year splurge. The service was excellent and the food is incredible. The staff treated my wife and I very well. It's well worth the money.

Troy Bishop

The service and food was exemplary. Never had such an experience.

Brittinea Emperor

Was a treat enjoy a romantic date dinning at the Charleston Grill. They had a classy soothing band we enjoyed listening to during the couple course meal. The accommodations were lovely, and it was the best food better then most places I have eaten at. Melt in your mouth delicious kind of food, and everything we had here was amazing! Thank you chefs!

Calen Pangle

Great food and great ambiance. Staff was very attentive and helpful. They like to fill the void between dishes with some nice little food samples. Couldn't have been more pleased with the food and service. Highly recommended.

Jed Maxwell

It is extremely expensive for dinner, but you get what you pay for. Dinner for three ended up being around $450 for us. It really is an incredible experience though. I have only been to one other restaurant on this level before (The Tree Room at Sun Dance in Utah), and I have to say that Charleston Grill is even a little better. The service was immaculate, I was so impressed with our servers. Their knowledge of the dishes, professionalism and level of class was wonderful. The food was other worldly. We all did the chef's tasting special, and I highly recommend this option for anyone who wants an incredible first time experience. This was by far the best birthday dinner I have ever had! They even had a card waiting for me on the table when we were seated.

Lori Jill DiBiase

Beautiful interior, live jazz music on Friday night (that had just the right sound level). We only had cocktails and dessert so far, but the cozy and romantic booths around the exterior of the dining room are inviting us back to try them for a full dinner experience. Staff was very efficient and we received great customer service, especially considering we were only having a light bite to eat.

John B Ryan III

Music and food outstanding

Patrick Newton 88

The best place I've ever eaten at☝

O C Welch

Great experience. Steve Andrew Mickie the band the food wonderful 2 hours. Always a fun time.

Allison Virginia

I cannot rave enough about what a wonderful dining experience the Charleston Grill was. My husband and I had to delay our small honeymoon for over a year and this was our big celebratory dinner for the occasion and from start to finish they were just so wonderfully thoughtful. They made the entire meal such a fantastic experience that was truly special. Taylor and Steve were the best waiters we've ever had. As a younger couple, when we go to upscale restaurants like this our servers usually treat us like we're a bit out of our league but that never happened once here and we appreciated that so much. And the food. Oh my goodness. Every single thing was amazing. Overall, a honeymoon dinner well worth the wait. Thank you all for such a lovely evening!

Sven Raphael Schneider

One of the best meals we ever had. Service is very good and they replay try to make it special. For example a fire alarm forced us to leave the restaurant mid meal, it was not their fault but they provided us with a complimentary wine pairing afterwards. We had the maximum number of food courses, which was too much. Go with the server's recommendation.

Cesar Lozada

Music was excellent (Richard White’s band), and the service was okay. But unfortunately the food was way overpriced for its quality and serving size. The ambiance is high end but the food (what you actually go there for) is not up to part.

Chris Rowe

Everything was perfect. The service was unparalleled. The food lived up to the hype....well worth it.

Jenna jaye

Really good food and lovely staff

sandra butler

Not as friendly service as I would expect Didn't especially enjoy the the tasting menu.. Seemed like work to get through it all, but I was the one paying the hefty bill.

Paul Linn

One of my top fine dining experiences in Charleston. Chef Michelle's food is always superb. Menu design and layout offers great choices. Execution and presentation of food is spot on. Wine list is extensive and service is oustanding.

Jana Delli-Gatti

I was there for a private event

Best dining experience in years. Service was impeccable. My Rack of Lamb was perfect and delicious. They exceed expectations all around.

Carol Wiennings

Good food and service

Lorena Pal

We went to charleston grill Friday night and loved it ! Saturday we were celebrating a Birthday and had reservations at Husk but it was so loud and different that we decided to walk to Charleston Grill and try our luck . The manager Rick was amazing he immediately recognized us and made sure we had a great table . They remembered the wine we were drinking and brought some complimentary wine to start our celebration. The fois gras was excellent we had branzino and lamb the first night and scallops and branzino the second night . The atmosphere is great and the food and staff is amazing

Chris Vinas

Had a great experience. The service and food was wonderful and cannot wait to return.

renette larock

We have never been disappointed dining here.Everything is outstanding!

Emmi Marie

Lovely atmosphere. There was a jazz quartet playing at just the right volume. Food was amazing, and service attentive and friendly.

Tracy Brown

Insanely good salmon! Cocktails are yummy also! Very nice establishment. The bartender was great!

Nine2-5traveler

Where do I start? Charleston Grill is upscale, on the higher end of price and a romantic setting. The service defintely matches the setting, and the food exceeds even that. If you're looking for an intimate setting, Charleston Grill is the place to wine and dine. Pictures don't do justice.

Barb Weyandt

Awesome waitstaff and sommelier. Very attentive.

Patricia Borosky

I have lived in Charleston for 20 years and Charleston Grill is my favorite restaurant. I have never had a bad meal, bad dining experience, the service is amazing, the food superb. I've read some other reviews on this restaurant, regarding portion size and cost. I would rather have a small amount of something truly exceptional than an all you can eat buffet. Second, you get what you pay for and you are going to pay for this restaurant, but it is worth the money.

Mike Fonsi

Last time i gone to charleston grill with my 5 group of friends,He was orderd spicy dish it was so yummy and such a cool atmosphere. We was really enjoyed it.Thank You!!

Hiep Nguyen

There are better options in Charleston (indeed!). Sad to say that this restaurant did not live up to its standard (not by a long shot...) I don't know about other 5 stars review, and even the #3 place in top 25 fine-dining restaurants on TripAdvisor, but we were not impressed at all. Possibly that the restaurant is going downhill... Tips: when looking at reviews, try to not only look at the overall reviews, but also how many reviews are there. Fewer reviews might signal less-than-desirable quality. Settings & decoration: The "fancy" pictures you saw on the Internet are OBSOLETE. Sadly we didn't have any picture of the inside, but they changed the decoration and it looked nothing like "high-end" restaurant. I personally didn't like the bar. Kind of distracting from so-called high-end settings. Music: Well, live music is not always good. But will always be loud, so be prepared. Service: Pretty decent, but not impressive. Quite friendly, but not professional enough to serve in a high-end restaurant. The waitress kind of tried to lure us into ordering more, and it was definitely a bad image to the professionalism. Other waiter was okay, but trust me - no way he was trained to do things properly. Maybe they're new, and will need time to get better. Understandable, and not the main reason for 2 stars review. *** Food: Well - definitely NOT recommended. We've been dining in many other fine restaurants and this is probably the lower (very lower) end. + Bread was rather dry, and butter was nothing special - I meant, just like the one you can easily get from the Shelf of any Grocery Store (no kidding!!) + Starter - Chef Special (the one in the spoon - picture) was actually the only one plus for the WHOLE night. + Appetizer: We had Ahi Tuna Aguachile & Foie Gras & Smoked Duck: Pretty good; Tuna was good & fresh. Smoked Duck was rather dry & mediocre. + Entree: We had Prime Beef Tenderloin & Sturgeon. Boy - I have to say that this is the most important part of the meal, but also the most disappointing one! Sturgeon was really oily - the butter was overcooked so it was harder for our throat (kind of stuck in the throat), Fish was mediocre, nothing special to be claimed as top-notched, the ingredients were not balanced as well. Beef itself was really good, but the technique is terrible. Like buying a prime beef and self-cook, you know... I meant it. Look at the picture (the one with Asparagus), doesn't it look like a home meal-kits they have these days? (HelloFresh, Munchery, Blue Apron, anyone?) + Dessert: Disappointed! You can easily find better dessert at any corner in Charleston. The dessert menu was poor as well. In general, we were charged prime, but received just mediocre foods. DON'T WASTE TIME CONSIDERING THIS RESTAURANT. My personal advice. There are MANY other good options in Charleston. You name it.

J Powers

Exceptional service. The lamb chops were superb. A must do when in Charleston.

Clifton Charles

Crab cakes are amazing. Wine selection is very good. Steaks are on pair with the best in the city. Maybe even better.. customer service is very good also. Will return in the future.

Jamie Adams

Service is brilliant, it’s run like a tight ship. Seamless, smooth, no hiccups. All serving staff working in sync, probably the best I’ve had in any establishment. Hats off to the lady who was overseeing her whole team. Starters crab cake (5/5), every aspect of this dish is perfect. Often restaurants put a lot of potatoes in crab cakes to substitute the crab meat. It was pure crab meat here. Main course rack of lamb, this is where they lost a point. For me when I get to a restaurant the food should be piping hot, my lamb was warm. The side dishes came out so hot, I couldn’t even hold the potato gratin dish. We were in a large group and I understand it’s virtually impossible to create everyone dish at the same time. However the lamb rack from the kitchen grill to table shouldn’t have taken so long for it to lose so much heat. Under normal circumstances it would have gone back, as we under time constraints it wasn’t an option.

Raymond Collins

Amazing restaurant. One of the best tasting menus we've ever had!

Sam Levin

A favorite place to sip fine scotch, nibble on delictables, and listen to jazz. In the heart of downtown Charleston. Excellent service.

John Melville

Food was incredible but pricey. Service was impecable

Stephanie

We came here right at opening and sat at the bar. Teresa was our bartender and she was nice. The crab cakes are phenomenal. Great little spot.

John Schnorr

One of the best restaurants in Charleston.

George Mato

Excellent Adam and staff were amazing! Food was delicious!

Josh Goldstein

Kat was a great help! She really made this last experience a good one and took the time to talk with me about the Vape pens and gave me the rundown on several strains. I had her choose a few recommended joints on my behalf and they were amazing! This experience was a lot more personable than other shops. I felt that I got special attention. Kat is amazing and free spirited but she's not the only fantastic person I've spoken with. The employees right now are just GOOD. That's all I can say. I'll definitely be returning. :)

Steve Newton

Very good overall, excellent service, food was good, wine was exceptional, a little pricey.

Steve Mitchell

Excellent food and service. Price was definitely worth it for the food and experience. Only complaint was the volume of the music. Live jazz is nice but I think I would have enjoyed it even more without a trombone blasting right in my ear. Top notch Charleston

Jason Fraley

The best... Ever! Staff have is the same treatment as tables ordering twice as much. Crab cake with dill was awesome! Colorado lamb was huge portion and cooked just right!

Katherine Scoggin-Sobonya

Great food and service. Even had live music.

Anna Smith

Be prepared to spend the months food budget when eating here. This is not dining, but a dining experience. Service is impeccable and the food is divine! I throughly enjoyed our evening!

Ellen Clark

I have had extraordinary meals here - one with lobster poached to perfection. But when I returned, it was rubbery. It probably depends on who is cooking that night. A good deal of thought goes into the menu, even the vegetarian options. It has a clubby atmosphere and very attentive waitstaff. Jazz nightly at 7. It’s in the Charleston Place hotel so its expensive - but they are trying hard to make sure you enjoy the experience.

Kris

First time at restaurant and it exceeded my expectations.

Lanie Dean

Oh. My. God. The rib eye was a dream! Flavorful, juicy, and tender. It was also such a big serving that I couldn't finish half of it. I had never had foie gras before and mmm!! it was fantastic. Each bite melted perfectly in my mouth and it's savoriness together with the sweetness of the warm peaches combined really well.

Cara Burns

Had a great anniversary dinner at this classic spot. The staff, Brian and Barbie, were excellent. They both made our dinner special. We chose the 6 course tasting menu, it was a lot of food. All dishes were tasty and well thought out. We are pescatarians and they were able to easily accommodate. I would recommend this restaurant, it had the feel of a capital grill with the local charm of Charleston.

Alice Bennett

We ate at the Charleston Grill while staying in the beautiful Hotel Belmond Charleston Place, where the restaurant is located. The creativity and preparation of the dishes, and the service, rival the best restaurants in which we have dined in major cities across the globe. Charleston has become a culinary center in the South and you must dine at Charleston...

Kim Clark

Superb service! It was our honeymoon celebratory dinner and they were the "icing on the cake."

Jim Oxandale

A lovely evening. The service was impeccable, the food perfect. The wine pairing spot on.

Julie Pattinson

On 9-20-18 we shared a very special occasion (dinner after our elopement) with another couple at Charleston Grill. We selected the six course tasting menu. Each course delivered to our table was truly a work of art. We enjoyed crab cakes, sturgeon, squab over oxtail, foie gras, and a finish of assorted chocolates. Ahead of our celebration, we ordered a cake, providing a photo for the pastry chef as a guide. The cake turned out beautifully and looked just like the photo. We were treated like royalty from Mickey the host, to the bartender, to Taylor our waiter, as well as the rest of the staff. If you want a dining experience second to none, Charleston Grill is a must. It's not an everyday event, but it's worth every penny. You won't be disappointed!

Cindy Holley

Absolutely wonderful! Ate here for our 40th anniversary. Felt so special! Adam and Jerry treated us perfectly! Thank you so much

Duntin Anderson

Nice ambiance, great food and easy service.

Hugh E Long

FABULOUS IN EVERYWAY!

phil fr

Very high end place. Food was great and service even better.

Fishin' In Scrubs

I tried the 6 course tasting menu which is 100 bux per person... Worth it for first class dining experience...

Donna Weedling

Great restaurant. Justin at the bar makes you feel so welcome. Highly recommend

Greg Sneeringer

Never had a dining experience this good. They treated us like royalty from the beginning when the maitre d’ took us to the best seat in the house ( he is great ). Food and service was 100/100.

Salvatore Galvano

One of the best restaurants in Charleston.

Great restaurant, great knowledgeable/ friendly staff. Service is very good. The food is outstanding. Last time I was here I was in a large party that included 7 children under the age of 12, so I'm used to getting looks from people like "oh well, there goes our nice evening", but the staff was great and not snobby or rude at all. The children are always extremely well behaved, even more so when they saw how elegant this restaurant can be. Great night, and I loved how many older couples stopped by our table to complement the kids on how well behaved they were. Made the kids feel very proud and special.

This was one of the best meals I've had in recent memory! The service, ambiance, music, and food were all excellent. Our server (a recent transplant from NYC) gave us wonderful recommendations and was extremely attentive without feeling intrusive (which I think is something all servers strive to be but often fail to meet). The quality of the food was amazing: we both agreed that while the rib-eye was terrific, the sturgeon served in brown butter sauce was more unique and really wow-ed me! We also had the potato gratin and that was really lovely. Everything from the music (great jazzy takes on non-jazz greats) to the gazpacho to the blueberry dessert was more than perfect! We will definitely be back next time we're in town!
