REVIEWS OF Café Framboise IN South Carolina

Sue Hamilton

Wow a gem of a place! Chicken vol a vent was good but could have been a bit more warm when served. Croquet madam was very good. The coffee and almond croissants were amazing! Service was very nice and kind. Parking is a little tough to find but there is a parking deck. No validations, fyi.

Marcia Werner

Super cute little cafe. Beautiful patio area. Great prices. Extremely friendly staff. Great food.

Shirley Davies

Great food and outside seating!

David Davis

It's a small, unpretentious place that serves up a great breakfast. Their selection of pastries and sweets warrants getting something to take with you for later as well. When I went (as a tourist) most of the other patrons were locals, which is always a good sign.

Beth Williams

Loved the atmosphere!! Outside patio is great. You order inside then go back inside to get it. Wasn't the best crepe so I would probably order something different next time. Coffee was good. I would go back.

Elaina Jane Negrete

Authentic French cuisine, with impeccable service, this cafe has it all. I recommend the Vol Au Vent and the Almond Croissant. Highly recommend the patio as well, and it is also family friendly.

Kaitlyn Ruff

Loved the quiche here! Very friendly owner and staff

Daniel Payne

Delicious sweet treats abound! Many choices. Crepes are marvelous too. Small and cozy street side courtyard where you can enjoy your coffee and dessert while horse carriages go by.

Juliet

The food here is absolutely delicious! It's a bit on the expensive side and their drink variety could be wider, but I thoroughly enjoyed the fare and found it very filling.

JReina Hamid

Cozy & friendly place. The pastries is the BEST!

Ethan Proffitt

So glad we stumbled in here. Unique environment and GREAT paninis. Reasonably priced for the level of culinary craftsmanship you receive.

Luciana Germano

Nice atmosphere, delicious French pastries but heavily priced.

doug miley

Pretty cool spot on a quiet street downtown. Nice outside seating. Easy place, moderately priced, and decent food. Worth a return visit.

Anna Gainey

The staff was very polite and extremely sweet, but my boyfriend and I ordered a sunny side up egg, french toast and a crepe and none of it was cooked all the way but it was all burnt on the bottom. For an order of three things that totaled just over $25, I just expected the food to be better prepared. After taking two bites of the egg that was still slimy on top but burnt on the bottom, my boyfriend started to feel sick and we had to leave. I wouldn't recommend going here after my experience.

minde ringys

Well all the reviews said authentic, probably owners have not been in France at all. Pastry cost over 3$ and it's hard about day old sitting there , chef doing good job with presentation, but coffee and everything else not worth the value

Skip Watson

The food is always so fresh and delicious. The ambience is very relaxed and inviting. The staff is very good and very friendly. It also has a very nice location close to a parking garage and only a block from King Street and two blocks from the Market.

Chris de Monclin

Great French café. Pastries are superb, conveniently located and the owner is a very nice. The taste of the pastries brought me back some good souvenirs of Paris.

Konnor Graber

Very good Macarons and coffee :)

Agne USA

Worst experience ever!! I'm from Europe so the service and food was horrible

Samuel Germany

. Wonderful little gem. We can not wait to return. Tomorrow perhaps.

Laura Wolter

Love this place and the owners. Its such a treat every time I go in!

Ethan Schaffer

Amazing pastries and friendly service. Its rare to find such a good Patisserie in the states. Little gem.

david russell

We had a great lunch here. I would give it an excellent rating for both quality and value.

John Porcher

Traveling back and forth from DC to my hometown Charlston I accidentally tripped into this French cafe a several years ago when they had just opened their doors for business a few days earlier. Since then they've expanded their menu from just coffee and pastries to full breakfast Parisian style. I kept it traditional with French toast. It was delicious. Highly recommended.

Rick Fitzgibbon

The croissants here are what you’d expect in France. Light, slightly buttery and flaky. So hard to find in the US. The coffee is good as well. It is a bit on the pricy side but for this quality I’m fine with it!

Lee Seamster

I was on vacation in Charleston when we went out for breakfast one morning. We came upon this little French cafe and just fell in love with it. It took me back to the times I spend in France and brought back great memories of all the wonderful people, places and food that I loved.

Brenda Garcia

Took a little bit of a wait for the crepe but boy was it well worth it! Service is good and the food and coffee is even better. A must do when you're in Charleston.

Ashley Jaszczak

Truly authentic French delicacies! Delicious!

michael arnett

If you like a very good quiche, come here!

Kayleigh Taylor

This place is fantastic. The food and drinks are perfection. The chocolate eclair was to die for. Love the atmosphere and music. Will definitely come back the next time I'm I'm Charleston.

Jess Brown

We loved everything we ordered. So good. Owners are super sweet.

Jomar Roberts I

As a native Charlestonian I have visited many of the French cuisine spots in the Chuck. Hands down best French café is Café Framboise. Locals or tourists cannot go wrong with this choice. Best kept secret amongst the “inner” circle. Go here at least once when you come to the world best destination.

Markus Elmore

Amazing food and great staff to compliment it. The prices are good for the amount of food you receive and the quality is better than you would imagine. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to sit and eat quality food.

Stevet326

Had ham and cheese crepes; wife had egg croissant. All was fabulous. Coffee hands down better than Starbucks.

John Breeden

Nice little cafe on the corner. Walk up counter ordering style with several tables inside and outside. The chicken Florentine crepe was tasty but a little intimidating in size. Split between two people, we were stuffed afterwards. Very heavy on the bechamel sauce. The Madeleine cookies are fantastic and worth getting with a coffee. Overall a nice spot, especially if you can grab a shady table outside, but a little cramped and chaotic when the place starts to fill up.

Sujatha Mahendran

Sweet friendly staff and a cute little shop to have breakfast in. Great selection of pastries and awesome egg sandwiches! Great coffee too.

Heather Fleissner

Great food! I absolutely loved my prosciutto crepe. Mackenzie is an awesome server. Quick, friendly service & fresh, high quality food. The crepe was huge and came with a small salad. I was stuffed. The owner also gave us complimentary fresh amaretto cookies which were amazing! Highly recommend!

نهى عادل

Best place for breakfast in Charleston.

Jessica Sheldon

Wonderful food and a great place to catch up with friends. Love the atmosphere as well. I will be back for sure.

Janet Wright

This is a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The seating indoors ranges from individual tables to large communal hightop tables. The pastry case is to die for, but they have great hot cooked options as well. It's a friendly low-key casual spot, but very tasty. I am a croissant snob and loved mine! Fun place right down the street from everything. If you need a quick snack or a light bite - definitely stop by.

Ed D

My “plus 1” for this great little French bakery and coffee shop. The croissants are PERFECT! The coffee is good, but eye wateringly expensive. Minus a star for being so expensive - but really great in every other respect. Comfortable and ample outdoor seating. Walk up to order, and self service. Better than Paris. (No rude waiters, it’s cheaper than Paris - and the food is, dare I say, better?)

july alburn

Everyone was so nice and the food was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this place to my family/friends and I'm absolutely gonna come back.

Greg T

Good service but went to work on something and there is no WiFi

Neal Patel

Fantastic French bakery! Went there both times I’ve visited Charleston and left fat and happy

Vivek Jasuja

Charming, with outdoor seating.

Floy Work

What is NOT to love. Everything is tres bon!

Gale Simmons

Great staff,wonderful food.

Gabriel Zarzour

I was visiting Charleston for a few days and was recommended Framboise by my uncle. Wonderful and cozy place to have breakfast, lunch, or a snack. Authentic French food via crepes, sandwiches, croissants, as well as desserts. The owners are present and evidently care about the satisfaction of the customers. I ordered multiple items while I was there; the crepe gourmande, the chicken panini, and a croissant. All were equally delicious.

Patricia Mongeon

Service is friendly and fast. Great coffee. The pastry is good too. I had the Pain au Raisin. c'est si bon! Will definitely go back.

Douglas Bulmer

Had a raspberry tart. Was best I ever had!

Devin Antonovich

Amazing authentic food with good portions, at a fair price. Will an instant regular here. Highly recommend.

Mary Ferraro

Love this place! Crepes, muffins and much more.

Lindsay Lee

This is such a cute space with a French theme. We got crepes and croissants as a final indulgence in Charleston. I highly recommend the caramel and pear crepe. The staff was very friendly. The only downside is kind of tight seating. My husbands iced coffee was fine. I had the cappuccino and it was on par with a Starbucks Capp.

Sara Pemelton

We loved this place for breakfast. Good cappuccino, crepes, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. Staff super friendly. Service excellent. Lovely setting both inside and patio.

Gabriel Constantin

Good deserts, service could be better.

Saiquan Canty

Nice authentic French cafe one of the better coffee shops here in Charleston and their coffee is very delicious. Customer service is top notch and it has a wide variety of breakfast/lunch items. The restaurant is clean and it has a surreal atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this establishment if you're visiting Charleston for if you are looking for a place to have lunch.

Lorin Edgerton

We only had the crepes, but they have a lot more. I had strawberry banana Nutella and caramel, it was really good. My son and daughter had the same minus the banana. They enjoyed them too. My wife had The Market, savory with eggs, bacon, tomato, red pepper, green onion, her words were it was decent. I'd go there again.

Doris Auyeung

This is not a nice sit down restaurant that offers service, but it’s a nice cafe. Basic sandwiches and crepes are made by the family. What I liked most were the pastries. The cheese danish was very good. The cappuccino is okay, not the best I ever had. After I paid at the cashier, I went to look for a seat. I forgot to bring my beeper. Rather than alerting me I left my beeper, the cashier just put it away. My breakfast was left at the kitchen counter until I asked if that was my breakfast. I think it would have been nice to alert a customer they forgot their beeper, especially when this place was not busy at the time.

David Emond

Great atmosphere, great service, delicious food!

James Carlson

It was a memorable time sipping coffee and eating a tart on the patio. Probably the nicest cafe I have ever experienced!

M B

A nice selection of tasty pastries at a convenient spot near the Market.

Raony Barrios

Definitely French style service, short and kind of rude. Great pastries and not so great coffee. The croissant is a must.

Aidan McKenna

One of the best places to dine and drink in Charleston. Great people too.

Christopher Lamps

This cozy French cafe has very good crepes, both savory and sweet. We also tried the puff pastry which tasted delicious and looked the part. We didn't get into all the coffee and dessert options, but we look forward to a second visit. Don't overlook this gem.

Rory Adendorff

friendly staff ...excellent food....what more

alicia mitchell

made Agra’s ingredients inside the crepes made it really dull and flavorless. The fruit tasted like it was about to go off and our French toast was soggy throughout front not being cooked. Sorry but I will not be back.

Mackenzie Stall

Have gone three times and the last time left me pretty unsatisfied. First time I just stopped in for a coffee and sat outside, pretty quick service coffee was fine. Theres not so much outdoor seating now. Second time my favorite crepe restaurant on George St was busy, so my friend and I decided to give them a try. They have pricey up charges for whip cream and add-ons. The crepes we're large and pretty good. Third time, again came as second option for other place being busy. Walked in and went straight to order counter. They were finishing serving a couple customers drinks. However once done, they didn't come to take our order yet. Then other customers walked in at the other end of the counter which is labeled for pick up. We we're told twice we'd be helped shortly, but as other customers walked in at the other end I watched 4 customers orders be taken there. After waiting over ten minutes, I just walked out. I don't really like complaining about service, but this wasn't cool of them. Ended up just ordering to-go from the best crepe place on George St.

Yikes. I’ve posted all my reviews from Charleston and often times average ratings reflect the kindness of the people in the city. No idea how this place is more than a 4/5 rating. Quick bite if you’re in a hurry, but overcooked eggs, haughty attitude and overbuttered croissants were never my thing.

Kevin C.

Delicious food!

Catherine Stewart

Very nice. Just what we were looking for.

Albert Lada

Another little gem hidden away. If you love French pastries, bread and salads, this is a must. Not easy to find parking, best bet, City Garage. Just a short walk from the Cafe.

Kevin Lares

French pastries to die for and great coffee. Service was super.

David Libert

My wife and I Visited twice during our stay in Charleston. We absolutely loved it! A++ Highly recommended. Coffee was excellent crepes and croissants were PERFECT. We will be back!

Celeste Springer

Patio dining with pets

Pierre Thiault

Finally a real French croissant Charleston. Nice outdoor place as the inside can be a bit crowded. Got an almond croissant and they have nice crepe dishes as well.

Natalie

The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is quite nice as well and there is even space to sit outside. You can enjoy crepes, pastries, etc. 100% recommend

Richard La Valliere

Best quiche I had, light, fluffy fresh and home made. Had some quiche in Paris but this place is something to discover, food is excellent and typical French with French ambiance, you can't go wrong....The pastries look so good, we will come back to try their croissants. Owners are very friendly and they have a very nice patio sitting. You can also enjoy their wine tasting with cheese and cured meats....Enjoy!!! RLV

Rachel Walls

Excellent crepes, especially for those following a gluten free diet. To-go salads are always yummy, and the pastries are consistently tempting. Quiet, shaded outdoor seating provides a peaceful haven to enjoy good food.

Charlie Peters

Good coffee, great quiche but parking is an issue. We parked in a lot next to the cafe but after our coffee break we found the car booted. Had we read the sign we would have seen Cafe Framboise was not on the authorized businesses for customer parking. While completely our fault we noted a near empty lot except for ourselves and another booted car which ended up belonging to someone working at one of the approved businesses. If not for the parking issue we would have given a 4-star rating. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK!!!

Bill Musch

Stopped here as it was right next to the parking garage. Yummy crepes. ..and thankfully gluten free. Also delicious latte. Doesn't get much better than this. Sincere thanks to the gracious staff for such a nice way to start the day.

Irin Ka

Great quality crepes. Lady owner is french and it translates into making sure this little cafe is authentic representation of French lite cuisine. Highly recommend!

Christian Hickl

As a couple who lived in France for almost a decade, we can confirm: this café is as authentically French as it gets. Wonderful, fresh-baked viennoiseries, served by the charming owners Florence & Dominique. They go above and beyond to please their guests. Dominique even helped with a wrench fix a defect on a rental bike. Thank you!

Retha Anderson

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. We loved it so much we went back the next day for more!!! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The coffee didn’t blow my mind but the food was worth it and more!!!

LDSwhovian

The food is amazing! The service is great! It's nice to find authentic french food away from france.

Meredith Floyd

Really nice place for an authentic French lunch. We had the Florentine Crepe and a panini and they both were excellent. For dessert we had a wonderful raspberry tart that was fresh and delicious. Definitely would recommend for a pastry or a lunch/brunch situation. They also have a patio available that is put of the way and super pleasant.

Jason Cap

Hands down best breakfast I ever had. And amazing coffee. Seriously if they want to move to NJ I will set one up for them tomorrow

M Phillips

Croque Monsieur & Croque Madame are rich, decadent, savory, and absolutely delicious. Great espresso with perfect crema. Enjoyed every visit!

James Woods

Some of the best French food in Charleston, great outdoor area

Julia Butler

This was amazing! I highly recommend this cafe. It really has the “French feel” that I love. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating for whichever you prefer. The food tasted great and it looked amazing. Again, I highly recommend!

Angel Dias

For Brazilians I would say very expensive, but they have all french specialties and good coffee... missing star is just because price... but it's worthed!

Fedor Chuchkov

So really original french Cafe. The first french cafe that I have met in USA for last 3 years.

Tom Stone

Perfect pastries and delicious breakfast specialties. I fell in love with the place.

Franziska Hart

Excellent coffee. Panini sandwiches looked delicious. Owner is authentically French.

Kelly Doyle

Great stop for breakfast. Fresh pastries and breads. The owner was nice and hospitable.

Tiphaine Coats

The quality of food is great, but I have made several attempts to place an order for my special sandwich and pastry and it seems I never can have it because it is too busy for them to make it or they don't make it on the weekends. I don't understand what kind of customer service that is. I'm beginning to loose interest in patronizing business.

Dave Vrtis

Delicious! Everything is fresh and tastes great! Love the small pleasant atmosphere as well.

Praveen Kannan

Amazing coffee and an excellent croissant! Nice breakfast place...

Madeline Irene

We stumbled here during our recent vacation and enjoyed a good cup of joe and some amazing pastries.

Steve Herbert

Pretty French snacks and meals with outdoor area

Tanya Carolinas

Love their breakfasts and coffee

Ilkim Sarsilmaz

The service, atmosphere, and food was better than amazing. The servers were very kind and they took the time to tell us about some of he foods that we wanted to try and the food was splendid. It was like eating a French bakery! Overall, if I could give it a 6/5, I would!

Jess F

I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about this authentic French cafe. Charleston and the surrounding area are severely lacking on quality food and decent pricing. Cafe Framboise is a 10/10.

Américaine A Paris

If you like buttery croissants, this place has the best I've found in town so far. But sometimes I think their crêpes come out a little too dry and the béchamel a little too much. The place has nice and relaxing vibe to also sit and study/work.

Tori Pratt

Best food we had eaten in a long time! I everything is so tasty.

Evan Guthrie

Cafe Framboise has great French breakfast and lunches. Fast service and good smells.

Timur Fatykhov

Great place for a nice breakfast in Charleston downtown

Mo Nadeem Gafoor

Love French cuisine and this place was no exception...it was exceptional. Friendly faces, great ambience and the most buttery melty croissants. Macaroons to die for and finger smacking apricot tarts. 5

Joel Aiken

Yes, just read all the positive reviews and they are correct. My wife and I are here now enjoying an absolutely delightful late breakfast. I had the French Toast and my wife had spinach and mushroom voulavent. The ambiance, the food, the staff, all perfect just like you’re in France at a popular bistro/ patisserie. Guaranteed to be a high spot on any visit to Charleston.
