This place was amazing! RJ was an awesome server. We order the prime rib platter, I did not really care for the vegetables but the meat was cooked perfectly - medium. We also had two rolls of sushi, they were half off during happy hour. I would definitely go back again! As I was on my way to the restroom, I peeped my head into what seems to be a private party room. Would definitely recommend.

First of all amazing food. Second of all, great service, being able to grill your own food is awesome. The bulgogi pork was probably the best, and the spicy chicken was a second favorite. I recommend doing the all you can eat so you try everything. Oh and the Soju Korean whiskey is amazing. ENJOY!

High quality Korean barbeque. Especially happy to experience the wine marinated pork belly and the mixed grain rice. A lot of purple, which was a nice twist on the usual Korean barbeque I have had in other cities. Would recommend and will be going back for their Hot Pot at a later date.

Cannot rave enough about this restaurant! Our server, Angela,was more than amazing! It was our first time and she walked us through step by step, helped us use the grill, answered every question, and didn't make us feel like idiots for being clueless about the cuisine. The food was delicious! Portions more than adequate to fill you up. Plus the karaoke in the back is the perfect ending to the meal! 20/10 would recommend this restaurant to everyone. I can't wait to go again.

We love 843! I will pick up lunch there to go and it's always tons of food that is really delicious. For an evening of entertaining a group it can't be beat. It's lively and fun with the grills right in the center of your table. It's not inexpensive but well worth the fun that you all will have. Their servers are great. Jimmy took care of us and engaged the entire family.

The korean bbq side is so delicous. The server helped explain everything so well. All you can eat for 2 hours for 24.99 is amazing. Make sure you dont waste because you will be charged for it. But they do serving sizes so you dont over do it. Everything tasted divine especially the chicken. I will be back again and again and again. Lol

It was mother's day and we'd not been to a Korean BBQ place yet in the areas. This place exceeded my expectation. Our waitress took the time and explained everything she brought out. Everyone there made sure the service was exceptional. The food and serving sizes were above average. We've going to be return guests!

I've been here twice with friends, neither time has been impressive in any way. Drinks are mediocre at best (the piña coladas that were bad enough to send back), and food has always been "okay" for the prices they charge. I don't understand where this place gets the hype from.

We have tried the hot pot and the Korean bbq side. Both were very good and if you have never been, they explain everything. The bbq side has an all you can eat and does have a 2 hour limit. Worth it! Don't let the outside fool you.

I was here over the weekend and honestly I was left kind of disappointed. I've lived here for years and finally tested it out and I found the rolls to be pricey and small. My little 8pc roll called the powerhouse was $17. Between that and my girl's rice/egg/ steak bowl I spent $43. The staff was friendly and polite but I wouldn't return.

This place can be hit or miss, it's pretty pricey the first time I went the experience wasn't very good (service and cuts), but this last time I had a great experience. Get the bulgogi and litchi sake; those are your best bets.

Very interesting concept and it was fast and had good service but the pricing is unbelievably expensive. Go with a bigger group to maximize your enjoyment. Neat experience but I cannot see myself going very often. The pork belly is amazing though.

Absolutely love this place. The bulgogi and spicy pork are both gorgeous in looks and taste. The japchae appetizer is a must as well! The waitress/bartender Kerry (unsure of spelling) is so friendly and fun to talk to as well! I recommend this to everyone I talk to.

Making reservations for the grill side was super easy! Our table was ready when we got there and was seated promptly. Service was fantastic. Quality and quantity of meat for grilling was stellar, no skimping! Have dined here previously and I would say this has been the best visit yet!

Amazing food! The Takoyaki was perfect. I walked in an hour before close and was helped by Hannah. She was very knowledgeable and sweet. The music level wasn't loud, and it was a relaxed atmosphere. I was really pleased with the decor and comfort as soon as I walked in. I had amazing Bulgoki and the pickled items were amazing too. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu

Another adventure through food, as recommended by our son. Our wait staff was very friendly & helpful for our first time. Great recommendations. Interesting flavors and concept. The pork steak was excellent. The Bogoggi (sp?) was tasty. The rice/grains also good. Personally, I am not crazy about the raw chicken & meats out on the table with the edibles, clean utensils, etc... I know how to cook, but it was difficult to tell the chicken was cooked through, raw chicken liquids spilled onto food that wasn't to be cooked.... I'd rather have food prepared by a professional when I eat out.... Either in the kitchen or at the table-as Hibachi is done. This way I know it's to be eaten /taste as intended and hopefully professional food safety is applied.

MANAGEMENT IS RACIST This review is late but it is important that it be shared. Earlier this year I was interested in trying Korean barbecue and decided to stop here and place a to go order. I sat at the bar and inquired about the menu. The bar tender was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. I even ordered a drink while waiting. I noticed the manager dressed in a suit, and operating from behind the bar. He paced back and forth without greeting me and even looked at me scornfully while doing so. After about 15 minutes, a white couple entered the restaurant and sat at the bar as well. My waitress assisted the couple as graciously as she had me. The manager however, went out of his was to not only greet this couple, but as if everything was okay with their drinks! The disparate treatment was blatant and hurtful. Despite the fact that I spent over $55 on take out for myself and my BF, I was treated partially by this manager. I will never dine in this establishment again because they clearly don't value my patronage. Additionally, the food wasn't that great!

We had an excellent lunch at 843 a couple of weeks ago. The service was excellent: the friendly hostess greeted us at the door and explained the 3 areas: a sushi bar, tables with a hot stove and regular seating. This helped as it was our first time visiting. Our server was friendly and helpful going over the menu and answering questions. The hostess came back during the meal just to see how we were doing and to make sure everything was good. The food was excellent and tasty and the price for two lunches with tip was a little over $40 very reasonable for the quality of food and service. We did not have any alcohol but they had what looked like a good selection. I visited the restroom on the way out and it was very clean. I definitely recommend this restaurant and we’ll be going back there again.

Oh my gosh. This place is horrible. First of all, I usually love Korean bbq but never have I seen a server like the one we had. She had such negative energy towards guests as she dictated the rules AFTER we sat down. I felt sort of trapped so we stayed. We had the all you can eat lunch special. Everyone at the table must order same thing. She then told us we had 2 hours to eat it, no doggie bags, and much later told us that any meat not eaten would cause an additional charge! What??? I understand how waste could effect cost etc etc but surely there is a better way to express this thought. She never refilled water. Food was extremely poor quality meat, definitely not restaurant quality, and I felt sick afterwards. My 12 year old daughter and I had a 68 dollar bill for two people. I would probably never go back even with a free coupon. The only positives I can say are that perhaps the food is much better during evening service and the decor was very pretty. Perhaps other aspects of the restaurant are better. Stay away from lunch special.

Fun dining experience and a helpful staff. There are two sides to this restaurant. One side let's you order off the menu and your food is bought to your table. The other side let's you cook your own meats and veggies. My only qualm was that the server seemed to want to do more of the cooking instead of letting us do our own cooking. Not sure if this was because of safety issues or what, but I would have liked to have more control of cooking my own food.

It was a nice looking place but super cold. The menu option I chose was korean bbq for 5. I'd recommend the 29.95 all you can eat for 2hrs because it didn't feel like the 5 of us had enough. The taste was good. 2.95 for soft drink in wine glass was not a great price for me either. I'd go back boss that I obliged what to get

We had the all you can eat Korean BBQ. Our waiter was great, he helped us cook and had several helpful suggestions. It seemed we had everyone working their helping us. I think we tried one of everything and it was great. Will be going back soon. I would suggest going early and make reservations to avoid long lines.

This is by far the best true Korean restaurant outside of the ’Land of the Morning Calm’! The manager and staff care that you have a pleasant dining experience; they take the time to explain the Korean dining experience and give you the option of ordering your meal prepared by a chef or grilling your food at your table. The food is delicious either way. I feel, they take pride in serving everyone. My final note to anyone wishing to dine here is to make reservations first (important).

We had come down from NC for an event and saw that this place was near by. We love KBBQ and normally will always make a stop if one is in the area near us and they were great the staff and food were fabulous. Definitely worth coming to again when we are in Charleston.

I could eat here every night. The food and experience is just like being in Seoul. Friends and I will normally get a massive hot pot, play a few rounds of drinking games, and then head to the back for karaoke. It's always a good time. Extremely disappointing experience. When I asked the server for advice, his opinion went to the most expensive meals on the menu. The guy lacked the knowledge, but I still took his advice. I Ordered a $33 entree of short ribs. When they came out they were chewy like eating beef jerky. He assured the meat would fall of the bone...wrong. I sent the plate back and when the new one came out, it was still chewy and also lacked the spices. Even though I expressed my concerns with him, not a single apology or visit from the manager was granted. They simply didn’t care, therefore I am writing this review in return. — This place means well, but they simply don’t have the proper management to ensure their service strives for the best. It’s simply overpriced street food. Nothing exciting about it, I am personally never returning and I don’t recommend it if you are searching for “exciting” food.

The waitress was nice but her English was not so good which made asking about the menu for a couple of first timers very difficult. We ordered a few appetizers before our meal which seemed to confuse our waitress we got the rice cakes and tuna tartar. Rice cakes were decent but the tuna was very mushy despite its beautiful presentation was disappointing. I got the bulgulgi steak and got sick the next morning. So don't believe the hype! I'll try again just to be sure though!

Don’t even bother with making a reservation! I tried to take a party of seven and I made a confirmed reservation on OpenTable. When we were in route, they called us to tell us that the OT reservation system was not linked to their system and it will not be honored. I was dumbfounded. I have used OpenTable many times but this seemed like poor planning. “You can take a reservation, but you can’t hold the reservation and holding the reservation is the most important part!”

It was actually really good. I ordered teriyaki chicken, and the sauce was amazing, but I don't like dark meat. My daughter traded me for some kind of soup she had with beef, which was good also, but I couldn't chew the beef. I had 2 mugs of beer and ordered a chocolate mousse to go. I still haven't eaten that yet.

Good, but not great. Probably won't go back. Wait staff was friendly, and we had made a reservation but they were not ready for us and we're extremely apologetic. Food was good, service was prompt. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the pricing was extremely steep for what you got. Because of this I will likely not be going back with any level of frequency.

Happy to find delicious Korean BBQ in Charleston! We had the spicy pork, which was amazing, and the ribeye, which was very good. Service was excellent, however, make a reservation. We did have a 40 minute wait for a grill table on a Friday night.

Absolutely love this place is one of my favorite after hours happy hours. Bartender staff is great the food is excellent, a wide variety of Pan Asian flavors, but the grill gold here is there kimchi and Korean pork you just can't go wrong with either. They have a ton of parking options and they even have private rooms including a karaoke bar room for small business events or birthdays. Full bar with great Soju options makes us for a pleasant place to go for a night out with friends. Can't recommend it enough.

They bring you 5 dishes that you can snack before & during your meal. You can eat as much as you want as their unlimited. We found them quite delicious! As was the rest of the meal. You also have different dinner options which they explain to you if you've never eaten there before.

843 Korean BBQ & Sushi House was one of the best restaurants that I have ever been to. The waitress was very patient and the food was ordered and served in no time. Some may say that it is pricey but I think that the price is just right for the quality of each meal. I will definitely be going back there.

843 Korean BBQ & Sushi House is a wonderful place for Korean food and Sushi. I really like the location and atmosphere at this restaurant. Being able to cook your own food is great and fun to do with a group as it brings everyone together and encourages teamwork. The food is awesome and tasty and is some of the best food in the Charleston area. The service is great and everyone goes out of their way to make sure everyone is well taken care of and that everyone has a great meal. I have had a pleasant dining experience every time I have been there and look forward to being able to return often.

Wonderful! Our waitress was lovely and even held our baby while I ate. All the waitresses and waiters we spoke to were super sweet. The food was delicious, the sake was the best I've tried. I had the seoule roll, cannot recommend enough. We will definitely be back. It's my new favourite restaurant!

First time and the last time. Every things is too too sweet, esp hot pot, for my family dinner. We r better go to outback instead. I do t recommend to go there :(

This is a very nice restaurant, a lot to see inside. There is a bar area if you want to go in alone. They do have sushi but people come here for the all you can eat but it's not the buffet that I'm used to in the Midwest. Instead you pick the meats and they bring it to you for you to cook yourself. Or for a standard restaurant experience which they do offer as well. Loved it.

Come around 4 pm. Happy hr. and food is fresher then arriving 7 or 8pm
