Jordan Dear

Delicious!!! I wish they could ship the Heirloom Tomato BLT sandwich to me back home in Virginia because it was THAT good. I loved their wine selection and the staff was so kind and helpful. The inside and outside are both gorgeous. I can’t wait to come back

N Mills

Food was fabulous. Server (Charlie) was 5-star. But why are you presenting champagne for special occasion and then charging for it? That’s deceptive. Unfortunately, that came out of Charlie’s tip.

Dwayne Jenkins

Very good good and a truly unique atmosphere.

Linda Phillips

great bartenders, incredible setting, what's more to ask?

Kathryn Stanton

LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant our last visit here in Charleston, and made it a point to return the next time we came. Upon returning, the manager Phil was so accommodating and the service (Katie) was great. Even every food runner was informative and committed to making sure had everything we needed and were comfortable. Not to mention the food is impeccable down to every last bite. You have to get the meatball appetizer! We will make it a personal goal to return every trip we take to Charleston!

Matt Priester

What an amazing atmosphere. High open ceiling with the Sun Tzu's Art of War written on the roof of the chapel. Live music. Great vibes. Fantastic.

David McNeely

Food and service is great. The menu is not very extensive--and that's true for gluten free eaters as well. But the atmosphere makes up for that. It's a fun place to eat because of the building itself.

Italy Veneziano

Came in to rest. Had 2 non alcoholic drinks an appatizer and nothing else and my bill was 50+ dollars Ian was a doll though. He was sweet and kind and knowledgable! Great service! Great atmosphere and the appetizer was okay but you could purchase it for cheaper. Ac was also out. Also, something seems kind of off about a bar being inside a church! XD Beautiful place though.

Hsuan-lei Sung

Overall a pretty cool place worth a visit. However, food was ok and very noisy.

Bethann Rohaly

Ambiance was really cool a must-see! Food was yummy, ordered the steak that's cooked in a unique one-sided way. Not my bag but good seasoning.

Vitaliy Schafer

Food and ambiance was incredible. There is a reference to Nascar on the ceiling, see if you can find it. Easy to spend a fortune.

Steve Mantegna

My wife and I are a great time eating at the bar. We met some cool people also dinning in. Food and drinks were spectacular. Old fancy church converted into an awesome bar/restaurant. Loved every minute

jay southerland

Had drinks only. Awesome decor!

Outstanding. In my top 3 in Charleston

A great mix of unique ambiance, enjoyable music/service AND really good food. We had brunch and everything was delicious. Fried chicken BLT was flavorful - slightly spicy but not too much and savory!! The fries were hand cut and yummy. The biscuits and gravy were 4 stars - tasted fluffy/light but authentically homemade. They were luke warm though and should have been hot. The poutine was pretty darn good too! My husband had the puff mudd Porter and loved it. This place is right by city market and makes waiting for your table no trouble. Decent prices - $45 for all three dishes and a drink.

Ally Blanco

This building has had so many transformations, but this one is by far my favorite. I love all the attention to detail. I'm in love with the light fixtures at the bar.

evaldas sinickas

Great food, very nice atmosphere, would recommend brunch

Keith Berlin

Absolutely beautiful building fantastic service unique menu. Highly recommend

Joey Maulden

This place is amazing! First and foremost it's a visual delight as soon as you step through the doors, the cathedral area with it's high ceilings and The Art of War painted on its surface. Beautiful stained glass windows bookend the cathedral, letting color dappled light play across wooden tables and mostly preserved wooden floors. The interior walks an acceptable line between modern and industrial while the structural design and previously mentioned window keeps it from feeling like the same ole take to restaurants you see popping up left and right... Now while it's nice to have a beautiful setting, there's really no point in it if your food and service is garbage. With that said, 5church decisively avoided such a situation with absolutely amazing dishes. From the Japanese Fried Chicken appetizer to the Fried Chicken BLT (with pimento cheese of course).. both dishes were cooked to perfection! The chicken being juicy and succelent to the breakfast skipping tastebuds. The flight of mimosas spoke to our hookie playing hearts, followed by a few of their mojitos which to be honest was my favorite. To tie this all together we were served by a man that goes by the name of Patrick (could or could not be an alias ). Patrick was both knowledgeable of his position and the building 5church serves its food and beverages in. He was personable and considerate and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Also the man takes the time to tie his tie with the Eldridge knot!! If he did nothing else right -the man earned my respect with that choice alone .. If you're in the area, do not make the mistake of passing this place up. It's a delight both to the eyes and palate.

Ronald Benson Clark

Nicki is the best bartender. So friendly and prompt!

Chris Shelley

The place was cool and the service was alright, but both items we ordered from the brunch menu were inedibly sweet and the home fries were so over seasoned they made me cough. On the upside, the poutine was good It was clear the food was quality but the execution put me off this place

Sara Sara

This place did NOT disappoint not only did we have an amazing server but we had an overall 5 star experience from absolutely everything on the menu that we ordered down to our amazing waitor surprising us with cake and joining in on our birthday celebration. It was wonderful!! From the exterior, internal atmosphere, the menu, the actual food was amazing, excellent draft selection, excellent customer service. 100% will recommend 100% will return on my next trip out to SC.

Stevie Fisher

Great food, great service. I struggle with eating at restaurants from time to time due to needing to modify dishes on a regular basis. Alyssa did a great job helping me feel comfortable with the options I had, and helping us make selections we would be happy with. It was very much appreciated. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals, and would go back again the next time we visit Charleston!

Kevin Mewborn

Perfect experience! Although we had a temperature issue with a couple of our entrees, they corrected it very fast, and it was worth it. The food was terrific! I can recommend the Southern Breakfast, the Breakfast Sandwich, the Crabs vs Eggs, and the Benedict! Add this restaurant to your places to visit list!

Jessica Hammon

What a beautiful experience! A 102 year old church turned into a hip and delicious restaurant! From our engaging waiter, Sam, to the delicious mimosa and Bloody Mary, to the creative fried chicken BLT (adorned with a perfectly cooked piece of fried chicken, house made pimento cheese, and all the veggie fixing on a brioche bun with a side of fresh cut fries seasoned with tarragon), to the Art of War passages painted on the ceiling; one of the coolest places In Charleston. Do yourself a favor and go eat here!!

Andrea Caruso

Venue: great setting! Attentive service, good bar, fun food, and yes... late nite fine dining :)

Corey Hill

Great character in the venue. Fried chicken was delicious. Steak was cooked to perfection.

michael arnett

Interesting spot to try, good food, but possibly a bit over priced. It was good food, but they seem to value their food very highly. The service was solid. Big downfall was that it seemed like the AC was broken because I had sweat dripping down like Niagara

Lauren Curley

Service was good. The food was excellent. We got the Korean cauliflower and I ordered the fried chicken as my entree. It had a honey sauce on it. Delicious! The menu seems to change a lot, it would be great to go again.

Tammy Tyner

Although I'm a native Charlestonian I've never made it to 5Church until today and WOW, should come much sooner. The bar staff where attentive and entertaining. The atmosphere although a little loud was great. FOOD WAS AMAZING, especially the to die for Carrot cake, don't miss it. Thank you Charlie and Phil for a great birthday experience.

Pauline Kulka

Such a gorgeous place! We came for brunch and had a lovely time. Good food, but the highlight was our server Jared. He was so fun, and accommodating. Made our day!

Eugene Gilmore

We ran across 5Church - Charleston while looking for a good location to have brunch and selected this location based on the ratings from Open Table and Google. NOTE: We were not disappointed!!! The food, ambiance and service were exceptional. The server even took time to provide us with a very interesting historical map of the restaurant. Would recommend 5Church for any occasion!!!!

Gregory Peebles

A very unique environment that looks like a converted church. Took about 15 mins from when we sat down for anyone to come to our table, and it was a pretty slow night. Ordered everything at one time so we didn’t have to worry about getting g served again. Food came out before the appetizer and came to find out the appetizer was never made but the waiter did admit he didn’t put the order in. He gave it to us for free which was nice of him. Food was good and the prices aren’t crazy. The drink I ordered wasn’t made very well. Overall I would go back but there are a lot of great options around 5Church as well.

Electronic Professionals

Incredible service from an incredible restaurant. Many people were taking pictures of the restaurant which lets me know I wasn't the only one thinking this. Food was fantastic with plenty of food available. Manager came by twice to make sure that we were all being taken care of. Will definitely be back many times.

Jason Cage

Can we just stop to appreciate a public, high traffic establishment that provides real, soft, comfort from home...toilet paper? None of the cheap xerox one ply copy sand paper stuff. It really is the little things. Oh, the drinks are phenomenal as well and to counteract the feeling of blasphemy enjoying it in an old Church with the Art Of War scribed on the roof, say a little prayer before you sip.

Robin Caparell

Brunch is an absolute MUST!! Dinner is excellent as well! Creative cocktails, interesting & delicious farm to table food. Can't wait to get back here!

David Miller

Very salty! Waitstaff was good. Took a while (too long) for a 25 person group. 90 mins to get a salad. Probably a good resteraunt overall but tonight the food was slow and way oversalted.

Brannon Warner

Hands-down one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Really cool atmosphere, unique (delicious) dishes, and good drinks. Service can be a little slow but worth it for the food and ambiance.

Lucy Barna

Absolutely stunning place!!!! So glad we found this gem. Terrific service as we. Hope this place doesn’t get overrun by tourists and hipsters like so many other places in the city. This one is special.

Jeff Sutherland

Loved how the place was designed and the atmosphere was cool as well.

Donna Hennings

Stumbled upon this little gem for lunch. Beautiful old church with history and very cool atmosphere. There were seven in our party so the long high top table was perfect. Food and service was great! The fried chicken sandwich was delicious! Looking forward to going back for dinner .

Mike B

Great happy hr menu and prices. Bartender was great and friendly

Innocent Flame

5 star restuarant. The Holiest Restuarant in the world! I think angels are cooking in the kitchen because this food taste heavenly divine. Tysm.

V A Riccasola

Unique asthetic... good music... great wine line.

Tim Zimmerman

One of the most unique setups ever, amazing service and food

Sara Bonau

Absolutely amazing. My husband and I visited Charleston and I found this place on Open Table. The best meal we had while we were. The food was some of the best I have ever had and it was so fun and creative. Our waitress Katie was fantastic and the restaurant is just gorgeous. It is a must visit for anyone going to Charleston.

Amanda McGraw

Which I could give this place more stars. Food was perfectly flavored, service was first class, atmosphere was perfection. Waiter knew the menu inside and out, and made great recommendations, created by award winning chefs. Restaurant is beautifully crafted. If you want your meal served fast, I suggest fast food. These meals are obviously cooked as delicacies, so enjoy every bite. Love everything about it!

Alexander Kuhr

This place is an old church and turned into a restaurant You can start from breakfast until dinner and the quality and service is excellent The most impressive is the conversion of the building in a modern art space 5Church is perfectly located at the market street walking distance for people with hotel downtown or from the cruise ship

Wes Mast

My favorite restaurant that we went to while in Charleston. Great food, awesome service and such a cool atmosphere. Would definitely come back. Ty was amazing and the “60 second” NY strip was on point!!!

Rob Sanchez

One of the few places that does Saturday brunch. Highly suggest reservations.

Noah Cynkar

Very unique spot with a large variety of wines and cocktails to choose from along with some beer. Only went for happy hour at the bar and thought the specials were good for drinks. One thing is, I felt like there could have been better food deals for smaller snacks. Otherwise it was a cool spot worth checking out.

Sandie Whiteman

Wow, I am very happy to have made the hour long trip to dine at this establishment. I was vacationing in Beaufort, when I learned of 5 Churches. The interior was amazing and just over the top. The timing from seating thru walking out was spot on with one exception. Our server addressed 2 of the 5 of us. I repeatedly asked questions to try and get his attention during the drink/wine order. I didn’t speak out until dinner was over. At that time he finally addressed the whole table. A whole meal too late.

Carter Costic

5Church was absolutely splendid as my 5 star review illustrates. Since we first walked in the door, the service was unparalleled. We were greeted with a smile and then ushered to our table very quickly. We arrived before our reservation, but were squeezed in a beautiful spot outside. Our waiter was superb, as hinted at above. As for the food, it was fantastic. Presentation was amazing, with the taste even surpassing the bar set. We ordered the poutine at first which was delicious and came out super fast. The fries maintained their integrity while being doused in delicious gravy and cheese. It was a delicious dish. I then ordered the prime rib burger medium, and in hindsight medium rare would have been better, but it was scrumptious all the same. We also got the fried chicken BLT which was a little too saucy, but definitely proved itself as a top notch sandwich. Lastly, we ordered the signature lamb burger which was said to be pretty good. An especially interesting part of this restaurant is its history as a over 100 year old church. Overall, 5Church Charleston is a terrific place with superb food and excellent service.

Polina Sorokina

The food was unbelievable. We oped in for braided ravioli with meatballs and some classic fried chicken and did not regret it. The chicken was one of the best we've ever had with the killer breading. The coleslaw and Mac and cheese were not my favorite, but those, who are not big fans of mayo and vinegar would love it. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly, quick. And the interior will leave you speachless, highly recommend!

Wendy Nixon

The restaurant was fabulous. Food was delicious. High quality food. Our server was the best. Had the Mothers day brunch. It consisted of large peel and eat shrimp, crablegs, shrimp and grits, swordfish and breakfast food as well. Very relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely go there again!

Clive Wegner

Really good food. The atmosphere is fantastic. The art of war is on the ceiling.

Jim Parkin

Unique to say the least. Wonderful experience. Impeccable service and a fantastic menu! Try the scallops!!

Arnold Moore

LOVE this place! What a great spot for dinner and drinks. The building, an actual former church, was built is 1916. All of the original stained glass is still intact. The whole space has such a cool combination of new and old. I had the fried chicken. It was very tasty with a syrupy glaze. The Campanelle is just like mac and cheese.

Allison Dean Love

This was our second time at 5Church and it could be our last. I hate to be negative so let me explain that both times were with large groups and we had a hard time communicating because it was so loud. The food was great and the service was good so it really depends on if you like an especially vibrant atmosphere. Maybe it we only had 4-6 people it would've been easier.

Tyson Slater

Loved the ambience and vibe. Service was professional and on the spot. Food was above par.

Adriana Felder

Have been to 5Church In Charlotte multiple times so was looking forward to trying this place . Did not disappoint The restaurant itself is unique and breathtaking . We brought our 4 year old and 1 year old which made us apprehensive, but it was honestly totally worth it . Delicious food and great service .

Dawn Ramirez

Amazing service, very unique decor, and a wonderful menu selection. We very much enjoyed our visit. The food was divine, from the first course to the last. Will definitely make it a point to come back the next time we're in Charleston.

Jessie Nickelson

A New Favorite- My other half and I dined here on the evening of 12/20. I cannot remember the servers name, but he was very personable and attentive. I really enjoyed the twisted ravioli, but wish they would add a few more ravioli's to the serving. Overall, my first experience was 9/10. Would recommended to new visitors and residents.

Nik Sheasby

Amazing food in such a beautiful old building. I love the writing on the ceiling. Fantastic experience.

Josh Bowers

I rarely order chicken but did so last night. By far, in my entire life I never had as good a chicken and biscuits as I enjoyed at 5Church Charleston. The slight honey taste on the chicken was exquisite.

Ashley Henderson

Wow. You must dine here if you are visiting Charleston. The atmosphere is a 10. Hands down one of the coolest places I've ever been. Even more importantly, the food is INSANELY good. 10/10! We had the sushi tots and flatbread for apps, which were both amazing. We loved the sushi tots so much we ordered a second one! I will dream of these tots...

Peter Brainard

Wonderful ambience, the food is quite good. Excellent wine selection. Fried chicken was a little too crisp for my liking, but overall a great experience. Desserts from in house pastry chef were great

Sandra Hunt

Food was fantastic, drinks were good & our server was excellent! A very interesting atmosphere. Enjoyed ourselves & even saw a candle light by itself.

Brian DeRoy

Amazing service, atmosphere, and selections. Super great scallops and fried rice that has the right amount of flavor without being overpowering. Will definitely go again. Perfect location in historic Charleston.

Deoranie Sewkarran

I did my corporate event at this restaurant because it was recommended to us. At the night of the event we had paid for unlimited drinks for two hours for 45 guests. Let me say this restaurant is not cheap. The waiters didn’t ask my guest what they would like to drink we had ask for drinks which I thoughts was odd. Everyone received their first drink at 9:15. I went to kinda ask the manager Victoria to make sure that out unlimited started when the last person received their first drink, she told me that it starts from the first person who orders a drink. My first guest ordered at 8:45. Needless to say that they were not considerate to us being that we spent over $7000 in their restaurant on dinner. I do not recommend for big groups.

Sharla McAmis

So disappointing! Came from Texas and so excited based on reviews and website but left completely dissatisfied. Beautiful decor and concept but underwhelming service and food. Server was too busy talking to staff in corner leaving us waiting for coffee refills, getting my order right and the check. Asked for soft scrambled eggs and crispy bacon and got just the opposite. Hard eggs and raw bacon! Also, just wanted to order a donut as a side and they wouldn’t do it. Only comes with Holy Shit meal. I will say the guys that brought the water and cleared plates were super friendly and attentive. The manager did come by at the end of the meal to check on us but at that point it was a little to late. Our experience was already over. Maybe just a bad day for 5 Church but probably won’t be returning or recommending.

Eugenius Rowthe

We had really good service, food came quickly and hot. Good beer, pecan porter. Love the glasses the beer came in and I want one lol!!

Lindsey Walsh

Love the decor inside. The bartenders were awesome and the music was late 90's/early 2000's the night we went. Wasn't crowded, but definitely not complaining :)

Dave Marriner

Noisy, good food

Kristen Wilkerson

This is one of the coolest freaking bars I have ever been inside! Really fun interesting drinks as well that actually tastes good :)

Rowdy Grunt

Very cool place to gather and eat. Drinking beer in church makes the beer taste better!

Jackson Davis

First, major kudos for the environment - a converted church! and for excellent service. Second, a hurrah for the food and drink. I had their house red from their vineyard, my companion had a bar cocktail, both were pleasurable with our meals. We ate wonderful things - it’s a global menu, we had everything from Moroccan to Italian to Japanese flavors, all done right. I deduct for the surprising noise level. We dined late, so we maybe should have known there would be a nightclub vibe - but it was still a surprise when the DJ started his set!

Nick Dodgson

The building is a cool former church, the menu is small and not very adventurous. Service is slow and the drinks even for Charleston are crazy high priced. Food is OK but certainly not worth making much effort for. There are too many other great places around here to be bothered going back. Cannot believe these reviews are so good.

Kim Smith

Good food, great drinks. The waiter was awesome. Great location. Loved the building decor.

Rachael Susco

This was easily one of the coolest bars I've ever been in aesthetically, and the cocktail was crafted with such care that I wish I could have taken the time to try all of them. Try the Nod to Nothing, it was one of the best cocktails I've ever tried!

John Newton

Very cool place, we just stopped in for drinks. We ate at the 5church in Charlotte, and wanted to see how they compare. Excellent and friendly staff, cant wait to come back.

Taylor Baker

5church was amazing! We had a party of 13 girls for a bachelorette party and they were so accommodating! The food was amazing and the entire staff was so nice! Highly recommend for anyone visiting charleston :)

Mihir Patel

Do not order Fried Chicken. They are serving you Turkey. May be they don't know the difference between chicken and Turkey. Good luck guys. I will never go in this place.

James Hill

The restaurant is a repurposed church, and it has to be one of the most unique settings for a restaurant I've visited. The food was great, but honestly I really just liked having a beer in a church.

Sarah Boucher

We went for a Mother’s Day buffet- the staff was relaxed, the food was great and the atmosphere is great!

Crystal Riley

Very cool decor and atmosphere. The food and drinks were all delicious

Christy Drinnen

Good food and love the church feel

Paul McManigal

The food was wonderful. I specifically recommend the braised lamb... highly. The staff was wonderful, except the hostess. She ignored everyone except the person she was talking to. She was also in the way of the staff who were trying to help customers. Aside from that, our experience was very enjoyable and we will return.

Ramon Espiritu

An upmarket church-themed restaurant with quite out there decor. Food was good as was the service. Observing the crowd, it was a bit pretentious (which I don't have an issue with), however considering the surroundings I suppose that made sense.

Milana M

Definitely recommend searching for a better chef -food was heavily over salted. we had a big group and no one finished their food. I ended up getting something after this place I was so hungry lol 5 stars for the setting! And waiter was kind Food presentation pretty, but lacking something.. We found this place based on the many high ratings.. not really sure how they have them FYI don’t get the lamb burger, the cheese they use on it is not a good combination for the burger

Heath Corso

Food and wines are excellent, and pricy like most of the top restaurants in Charleston. It is extremely loud, with a younger crowd, ample libations and the accoustics of a church.

Chris Vinas

The food was amazing, I had the 60second NY Strip and my girlfriend had the Sea scallops. Great presentation and service was perfect. Can’t wait to go back!

Alyssa Drye

The food was amazing and the service was too notch. Everyone was super nice! The smoked salmon salad was so good.

John Kindred

Had cocktails with some out of town guests. Drinks were great and delivered promptly. Great atmosphere.

Ashley DePiano

The food was really really good here, and portions are huge! Decent prices for the area. My drink was nothing special though

Adventures with Stephany Queens!

Seriously best fried chicken ever!!! Been to Nashville and Louisiana and this was the best place!!! The NY strip was fabulous and yummy and crunchy as well. The staff was so so nice! Love this place!

Jason Jones

One of the coolest settings in downtown Charleston by far! Really enjoyed the brunch and list of specialty cocktails.

Bill browder

Great service and food. Had an issue with our table, Madison the manager hooked us up. These people really care about your experience! And Tye, great service.l, oysters were perfect!

Jennifer Cordin

The manager and the hostesses need to communicate with each other in order to provide the same information to their patrons. The back and forth of whether or not they could seat us for dinner 4 times was absolutely ridiculous.

Sue Mattucci

Went for lunch. limited menu but food was delicious. Server Oleg was very busy and also very attentive, knowledgeable and nice.

Danielle Barnes

Fantastic atmosphere. Wonderful food. This was our first stop on our girls weekend and it couldn't have been a better place. If I'm ever in Charleston again, this will definitely be on my list!

AVIS BLANTON

Just finished dinner. I had tha SALMON and a salad. It was GREAT! The place is beautiful. The wait staff is very good. The bat manager stopped by our table and said hello, gave a little history on the restaurant. All in all a very good dining experience.

Stephanie Mowrey

Restaurant set in an old church with a lot of the original stained glass and wood floors. Someone wrote the entire book of The Art of War on the ceiling. Super cool atmosphere! The Moroccan glazed meatballs were phenomenal as was the salmon...very tender and juicy, not dry at all! The pork chop with ratatouille was also quite delicious! Highly recommend!

David White

Brunch was great and it looks very nice inside.

Waylon Cameron

Beautiful church turned restaurant. Menu is created new every single day. Server was knowledgeable and attentive! Overall a bit pricey for quality of food, but the atmosphere, service, and ramen made it worth the trip!

Gabriella Tirone

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere!

Ken R

I enjoyed my time here. This was for a Father's Day celebration. I was also here for Mother's Day which was a fantastic experience I recommend anyone to have. On Mother's Day they had a fantastic buffet which was to die for. I found Mother's Day to be surprisingly affordable for what you received. For Father's Day they really didn't do much at all. The menu was highly expensive and many people walked in and walked out after seeing the menu. To me it would have been much smarter to adjust the prices and have a menu that was more affordable. Those same people who left would have paid you and would most likely return for a future visit. Finally our waiter was more interested and helping the 12 females who died in the middle of the restaurant then helping the rest of us. I had to refill my glass personally twice and it would have been four times had the pitcher of water had not run out. Because of this I will most likely not return unless there is some sort of special that warrants it. And for the $300 bill I would have thought the restaurant would have done more to ensure my satisfaction. I could have eaten anywhere but I chose 5Church. I certainly should not have had to go to another restaurant to eat after I ate here.

Kimberly DeCarrera

Awesome service and great food. Scallops, halibut, lamb burger, and the Poke bowl were all excellent and cooked to perfection. Cool location in an old church and at the Market.

Mike Fritsche

Good selection of drinks. They don't spare the alcohol in these puppies either. You will be leaving buzzed. Great setting. Who doesn't want to drink in an old church?

Amit Bahl

Don’t have enough words. Delicious food. Amazingly unique ambiance. Superb service.

Benjamin Verkamp

This was, hands down, one of the best meals we have had on this side of the Mississippi! What made it better than most was our server Randy. He shared venue history, menu recommendations, and was damn decent to talk to. Do yourself a favor, go here. Thank me after.

Paul Sorensen

My wife and I highly recommend 5Church. Both the poke bowl and beef tenderloin dish are fantastic. A special thank you to Madison and Ryan for their wonderful hospitality!

Bianca Rodrigues

I haven’t ever had such good food combined with such exceptional service in my entire life. The wait staff was beyond accommodating for our party of 13, and apologetic when they didn’t have a table ready for us in time for our reservation. Beyond that, our food was outstanding. Definitely order the fried chicken but really anything off the menu is great. The old fashioned was awesome.

Mark Ravan

Very hot inside but food was great. The drinks were good as well.

Cameron Thomas

Had some of the best food in the Downtown Charleston area that I have ever had. I had the swordfish and my girlfriend had the lamb burger and both were PHENOMENAL! We also had a delightful desert as well. And the icing on the cake was the awesome server that we had. His name was Pressley and he was very helpful and offered often advice for the menu. He knows so much about the restaurant and the food that I couldn't help but be impressed. Honestly, and awesome place to eat!

Matt Uphoff

Food here was outstanding. The Ahi Poke Bowl was spectacular and our waiter Anfarnee was a true professional. Highly recommend.

janyl sabyrbekova

Food was delicious but the service was horrible very rude

Nathan James

Really neat place with a unique atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Thomas Dobbs

Great service, great food, great atmosphere, and great vibes. A wonderful place to spend a special event or just a night on the town. Definitely a favorite.

David Andrews

A surprise find. I love the decor. The food is very good,as is the staff.

Chris Dempsey

What an awesome venue. We had a large party so they helped the person arranging the get together come up with the menu for our table, of twenty. Waitress was spot on, servers came out with all our orders at same time. Food was excellent and fresh. Heard more than one person saying best meal they ever had.

Michael McCloskey

Classy and eclectic. Had the Moroccan spiced meatballs and a glass of red wine during happy hour to warm me up for another restaurant later on for restaurant week. Very tasty and the staff is friendly. The building used to be a church many years ago. Still has the stained glass windows and tall ceiling. Very cozy.

Chris Haen

Just stopped in for a cocktail and to admire the beautiful setting. It's a unique, one of a kind environment. My cocktail was great to boot.

Kristi Buczek

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Brunch is so delicious - as are the cocktails. There are still decorations reminiscent of the church background. The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere is fun without being too wild. There is also a great outdoor market in front of it!

Lynn Silvern

We would give it 27 stars. Awesome! Such great service. (Julia) Mussels and Poke Bowl best ever.

Michael Kaufer

Overrated! The ambience was nice. Walk into restaurant and take photos then walk out. Totally not worth it. Made reservations for a special occasion and they did not honor it. The service and food was subpar at best. Too many other restaurants nearby to chose from that are better. The assistant manager and manager have zero experience nor etiquette how to treat patrons right. They didn’t even offer a complimentary appetizer or drink for our inconvenience. First time EVER writing a review. We will never go back nor refer anyone to this establishment. Customer beware.

Ryan Eder

This place is great. Awesome idea to take over a church and turn it into a bar. We were able to walk right in and sit at the bar. The bartender was great, he helped make recommendations for drinks as well as food. They were on top of empty drinks real quick so we never went thirsty. Food came out quick and was amazing. Big portion sizes, I went with the breakfast sandwich with home fries. Sandwich was great the home fries had a little spice to them but nothing over powering, just enough to let you know it was there. The wife went with the chicken BLT and fries. The chicken was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. If you stop by make sure you check out the reaper bloody Mary. Fun fact the reaper pepper is 3rd on the scoville scale behind pure capsaicin and U.S. grade pepper spray making it the hottest pepper in the world. Bloody has heat but nothing that will send you to the hospital. I will recommend this place to all friends visiting. Thought the Art of War being painted on the ceiling was a unique touch and good conversation piece.

The food, the service, and the location is great! We enjoyed brunch just after opening around 11am. At that time we didn't feel crowded or rushed - and the serving size was even enough for my two teenage sons (this is their new favorite restaurant).

I was shock to the prices on the menu, but I found interest in getting the Lamb burger. And it was thick and well done perfectly. AND IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!

Decent place. Had the flatbread - was on pita so not really flat. Someone else had the fried chicken and I had a bite - was not impressed... Ambiance was and service was good though - Jacob was awesome

Great location, great building and great food

Just eat at 5Church. Food was excellent and our server, Sam, was attentive but not pushy and I struggle remembering getting served better. The stained glasses windows in a restaurant were a first for me. Will definitely come back when I return to Charleston.

Took my wife here for her birthday. The GM, Madison went way above and beyond for us. The staff was so warm, so accommodating, I thought I might be dreaming. Every suggestion was gold. They paired the perfect wines with each perfect course. As a foodie and a frequent traveler, I have been all over the country and Europe. We had a TOP 3 food experience at 5 Church. The Salad came directly from the chef's garden. I ate it and felt healthier. My cholesterol probably went down 20 points. Then we had the best Ramen noodle stew I have ever had. My main entree was the beef tenderloin. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. Paired with a Justin Isosceles Cabarnet Sauvignon, every bite and every sip made me feel ever more filled with gratitude. After our meal, we had sampling of desserts. So decadent, yet so guilt free. (Probably bc the salad was so fresh.) I would highly recommend 5 Church. My wife had a smile from ear to ear for days. A week after, I could overhear telling family members how wonderful her birthday was. A huge thank you to the staff and the GM, and kudos to the chef for a perfect dinner experience.

Great atmosphere and incredible brunch.

A perfect place to believe you died and went to heaven. It was recommended that we try the “60 second steak”, we were hesitant due to the name, however, it was out of this world delicious! Another in our party ordered the scallops and couldn’t stop raving! We started with the charcuterie board and added the spring salad and very pleased we had. This establishment is outstanding, as well as our wait persons!!

Super cool! A bar/restaurant in an old church. What more can I say? Oh- the food is fantastic

Service is subpar at best at the bar. Staff seems a little rude. The decorations are very cool. Happy hour you can get a cocktail for $5 and drafts $3-$4.
