This Restaurant is included in the category of Gourmet grocery store.
I purchased 3 balls of provolone cheese and it was fantastic! Excellent smell, taste and texture! The provolone was delicious on pizza and in a sandwich!
This was my first time there...I have to admit I usually go to Venda...I really wasn't paying attention to the prices per pound so shame on me...$20.00 for four stuffed shells? $15 for a small piece of lasagna...I'm sure it will taste delicious, but the price has left a bad taste in my mouth before I took a bite. Never again for this rookie....
Love Tony's foe all things Italian.
I had Italian grinder it was great, every thing in store looks great
food is superb. quality requires you to pay more but they take advantage and charge ridiculous prices for items that are non imported and basic. 16.99 a pound for panko breaded chicken breast is extreme
(Translated by Google) the food and sausages are very good, everything is delicious (Original) il cibo e le salsicce sono molto buoni, tutto è delizioso
Food was very great
The best authentic Italian foods.. Yummmm
Store smelled amazing. Made you feel like you had just walked into Spain or Italy. We purchased some fresh salami that was so good. The longer it was in your mouth the better it tasted.
An icon!! FABULOUS
Wonderful selection of imported foods. Excellent sandwiches, cold cuts & cheeses. The lines can be pretty long, especially at lunch, so leave extra time.
The selection of fine cheese & meats is incredible! Friendly folks too!
Great Italian grocery store with fresh fast and delicious subs and other prepared foods
The atmosphere is 5 stars, exactly what you want in an Italian grocery however the food was only 3 stars. Got a veal parmesan sub and it was mediocre.
Love this place. Food is amazing!
Been there since I can remember I am 60 now food always great
Love everything about this place. The service and selections are outstanding.
The real deal!
Amazing Imported Italian specialties on Federal Hill.
Always enjoy a trip to Tony's whenever I am in Providence. Introduced my son's friend from SC to the delights of the deli case.
Went here by chance and it was awesome. Angela made me 3 sandwiches and they were all great. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go again.
love the authenticity and friendly staff!
So good! Just go! It's the hill so parking can be a challenge but the food is amazing!!
Authentic italian foods - Only place I will ever buy prosciutto!!!!!
Amazing food and great people
If you love Italian you must go there OMG there cold cuts, and the smells are unbelievable!
A true classic Italian deli and shop. Fabulous sandwiches and Italian TV while you enjoy your food. The shop is extremely clean. There wasn't even a speck of dust on the overhead vents. You'll enjoy practicing your Italian with the proprietor. She is wonderful!
Good Italian food. But the service was really slow. I guess they rely on the store more than the restaurant.

Nice place to go
This is a real old fashioned Italian deli in the old Italian neighborhood of Federal Hill. When this place is open you will find the owners, either the husband or the wife, both in their 80's, manning the front counter every day. A must have is any of their sandwiches. Be sure to say Ciao.
Excellent service.
Don't shop here hungry. You will need a wheel barrow.
Sandwiches and food is wonderful, love the owners but the prices are a little ridiculous
Yum yum
Tony's Colonial Food has quite the selection of expensive Italian (mostly Southern Italian) foods. It's all good food, but you're paying a hefty price for it. And here's the thing, my family who came from Italy wasn't paying these prices to make their outstanding meals. All that said, if you're okay paying what Tony's is asking you to pay, then it's a great spot for you. You'll have a good meal or you'll be able to find some enjoyable treats and you'll be satisfied. Just go in expecting to pay a bit for the experience.
AMAZING italian subs. If you like stuffed cherry peppers and "charcuterie" i.e. delicious cured Italian meats, then just go. also great prepared foods. I also had a really good veal parm sub there the other day. Take your mom--she'll feel like she's back in the old country!
Great food! Cannot complain at all about Tony's! Get the stuffed banana peppers.
I miss Tony's. One of the best cheesemongers in the city and they have stuff you can't get anywhere else. Sadly we moved cross country.
Worth the 2 hour drive for the sopressata alone
Came here because we seen this place on The Zimmerman List yesterday. Got two Italian grinders. Paid $22 for both. They were very small subs with not alot of meat. This place is highly overpriced. You can get a better Italian sub elsewhere. There is nothing special about this place at all. Very disappointed and will not go back. The staff is very friendly though, no complaints about that...just highly overpriced food.
Best italian deli around

Thanks Gina! Great market, friendly staff and the cheese selection is bar none.
Quite possibly the most authentic Market on Federal Hill absolutely love this place
The Italian grinder was one of the best I've ever had. Great place very nice staff
Delish! Authentic Italian
Terrible experience! Miserable people! Not like it use to be. Sorry but I have had better experience at stop n shop. Time to wrap it up and retire.
Get your Italian heritage on ! Great, friendly staff. Love Gina! Cool stuff for cool prices.
I’ve only had the Italian sub and it’s probably the best I’ve ever had.
Love Tony's Colonial Food ... Not as big as others on The Hill but same high quality and more personalized service.
Very nice cookies
Smaller than some other shops on the Hill but no less authentic or delicious. They have tables inside so you can sit down and enjoy some of their fresh sandwiches or espressos.
Good prepared food and Italian delicacies. I like the stuffed mushrooms.
Awesome selection of meats, cheeses, & wide variety of Italian imports
Only place to go for real Italian foods
Great Italian grinders on homemade bread!
Very slow unfriendly service and the prices are way too high for the quality of food. I don't know what they're thinking.
Quality, expertise asks perfection!!
His ziti and sausage was out of this world.
Food its amazing!!!
Best around
Feels like home back in the days of my grandma and grandpa
Great food and people
The best
Great Italian grocery. Many choices of meats, cheeses, olive oils, aged balsamic, and many other speciality items. Fresh grinders made while you wait. Dont miss Tony's while in the area.
Lemon ricotta desert was devine!
We used to live in Northern Italy and being in this store, sipping delicious cappuccino and espresso has us feeling nostalgic. It’s a great store with such a variety of snacks, ceramics, meat, cheese, baked goods and more. The customer service is superb too! We will definitely be back soon.
We ordered for lunch & for later. Italian grinder was perfect. Fresh, light bread and thinly sliced, generous portions of meat. Eggplant parm is so flavorful and doesnt feel heavy even though its very filling. Also ordered some Italian cheeses and olive mix. Prepared foods all looked so good that it took me some time to decide! Everyone is friendly & helpful. We'll be making this a monthly trip.
THE BEST MARKET IN RHODE ISLAND
Best Italian sub on the Hill. Great chicken parmesan too.
I can say I been travelling an nothing comes close to tonys I miss it so much my first stop when I get back to prov always the best by far nobody 's come close to tonys
Some of the best food on Atwells!
Italian imports, pasta, chocolates, great assortment of terrine, cheeses and meats. Some prepared foods.
Amazing Authentic Italian Food. The Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and priced well. The closest thing to being in Italy. We shop here every time we are on Federal Hill.
Good food, interesting cheeses, good Italusn bread, deli items, ...
This market is wonderfully authentic and the selection is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. It's like stepping back in time when as a child, I used to visit our local Italian market, the scents of the Italian food bring me back. Keep up the great work!!!
I love this store. Everything is great the people are fantastic and there spicy homemade italian sausage is out of this world.
Was amazed with how much they had to offer will be coming back again
top quality
Amazing place
This is the place. Best Italian specialties without excess pomp and circumstance. Family atmosphere and service, federal hill at It's best.
This market is a must to visit if you get to Federal Hill in Providence. The market/deli is small but has tons of delicious food of all kinds. The selection of olive oil, pasta, sauces and, you name it, is incredible. And then there is the deli where you can choose from a great selection of prepared foods, meats, sandwiches, cheese and other delightful food to eat at the market or bring home. And you do not have to be Italian to enjoy the Italian food.
Great pizza !!
Great Italian food.. Old world style! Like being in the old country!.. prepared foods, & all kinds of imported food from Italy!
You can find very nice Italian food here. . .
Food was great so much to choose from. On the pricey side for tuna couple pieces of chicken and cucumber salad I paid 25 dollars. Not much food for the money
A store
Love there snail salad!
Pricey! Sandwiches are very good . Cooked food is okay but expensive.
This place is amazing. We visit every time we travel north.
This place sucks
Best Italian grinder around
Old school Italian food
Good but expensive
Great sandwich
Vergy good quality productts, excellent selection of charcuterie (their home made sopressate is delicious), italian cheeses and prosciutto. Friendly service and staff. Some items however are way overpriced though. I would not buy DeCecco pasta there as it's almost twice the price as in a regular supermarket. For everything else, worth a visit.
A must to visit and shop. Great selection of prepared foods, deli, pastas, dry goods house/kitchenware etc.
The one shop place to go to I love this little convenience Neighborhood Grocery Store
Going here is like a small store in Italy. Small friendly store w a variety of things to choose from
Love it good food
Tony's colonial food and Deli has been around as long as I can remember. It's it's at the end of Atwells Avenue right across from another Deli called Roma. Tony's Cooks the food right in front of you there or prepares food and usually has a couple really nice people serving you from behind the deli. This is Italian at its finest for Federal Hill at a deli. You can get quite a few varieties of olive oils spaghettis Italian spices breads, and much of it is ready to eat. A definite Stop on Federal Hill.
Bread is awesome needs more meat in the sandwich
The best
Very expensive but worth it all the deli meats have been imported
I went to Tony's Colonial today and had the best Italian grinder and a side of antipasto. Everything is always fresh and delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I will definately be going again soon!
What a selection! We could have bought one of everything. As it was, we got pepper and wine biscuits the are wonderful. And almond biscottis that are perfect. Will be ordering more from their website when we get home.
رائع واخلاق راقيه جدا وحسن استقبال ومعامله/عراقي مقيم
Small, quaint...delicious! A small but delicious selection of prepared foods, Italian salamis, cheeses, fresh baked bread. Lovely staff!
My go to place!
Good food
Best place to shop for authentic Italian specialties. Top quality.
What a cool shop. So hard to decide what to order.
Awesome Italian food and gift shop
Nice place
I grew up on the hill and to this day I come to see Tony and his lovely wife to get the best grinders, snail salad etc on the hill go and enjoy..you get what you pay for
Most delicious espresso...lovely place!
I grew up on Federal Hill-Tony Colonial's has always been my favorite!
Hi Tony!
When they see a tourist, they charge double. We paid $30. For two 6 inch Italian sandwiches. Watch out. Go to Roma across the street, much better.
Wonderful food and a nice selection of deli items.
Amazing food. We chose sandwiches and an assortment from the cold case. Excellent service without much of a wait time! The perfect recovery food after my husband's surgery.

Best lunch meat in RI hands down.
Best deli in federal hill RI
Great Italian Market in the Federal Hill neighborhood (Little Italy) in Providence. There are a few exceptional markets in this area, so I grab a few items that they do really well here, and then grab a few other items from some of the others.
Just like when I was young and the neighborhood store was where you went for daily food supply and the smells and avaounce brings me back ,a little Italy in everyone ,close your eyes a second and breath
Best prepared food
Delicious food.
It's the Best
Truly a gem in Federal Hill. Tony's is a classic Italian market with a great hot lunch counter and a variety of take home entrees, as well as a market of dry goods, pastas and authentic Italian supplies. Sandwiches including chicken parmesan, proscuttio and mozzarella, and sausage, peppers and onions are quickly made for eat-in or take out. A full deli with specialty meats, cheeses and olives, as well as cooked meals like sausage with broccoli rabe, and eggplant rollatini are available in different sizes for single or family-sizes servings. Highly recommended!
Awsome baked goods.
Best Italian market in New England
Tony's is the spot for fresh and authentic food and gifts from the old country!
The place is always packed so you know it's good
A nice, clean place, but 4.99 for a baguette? Rip-OFFFFF. I only went here because Venda was sold out. I will not go back.
Love Tony's. Best place for fresh Italian deli meats, cheeses, bread, and olive oils. It's been my Saturday morning tradition for 20 years.
Good food
Friendly staff. Great food selection. Little Italian treats everywhere.
