We drove from Boston to try the food here. Nice place and the music was good! We ordered apps, Mango Habanero wings and Garlic Knots. The chicken was alright. I would have liked it to be a little more crispy, but still a large portion for two to share. The garlic knots were so great!! Definitely recommend them for appetizer. For entree we ordered shrimp scampi. A great dish entree! Things that make this restaurant a 3 star ... a dead bee was at our windowsill, the blue cheese that came with our chicken was no good, the food took a long time to come out, and lastly, they abruptly changed the hip-hop music playlist to slow-classical music when a certain type of crowd came in.

I ordered lunch, take out. When I picked up my food the cashier took my money gave me my receipt and dismissed me saying “we don’t have change”. I wasn’t feeling confrontational so I grabbed my bag and left but I feel this is poor customer service. Just wanted to let management know. Oh...the food...it was good but the service ruined the experience.

Very good. Fresh ingredients. Calamari was great and you can tell they Clean their oil. Chicken sandwich and burger were good-fried super crisp and again Clean oil. Drinks ok. Bartender was efficient and not overwhelming. The only negatives is it is very hard to carry a conversation and the fruit flies at the bar were annoying. Will definitely be back!

this place is incredible bloody Mary build your own station you sit at the bar the bots and the mix is it up for you it's absolutely incredible a great experience sweet potato regular potatoe home fried mix. Eggs Benny looked like to die for can't wait to go back Saturdays and Sundays.

As to be expected with live music on a Friday night they were super busy. But, the host was very friendly. I wasn't aware that you could reserve tables. So if you're going with a group definitely do that. The live music was GREAT!!

Gastro pub type fare. This place seems to have the Groupon offer pretty frequently, so check that out before you go. I'd stick with the burgers in this place, rather than ordering anything too fancy.

Great food and drinks in the historic "jewelery district" of Providence. Their award-winning pizza is for real and so are their chicken wings! All in a cozy but not stuffy atmosphere. Do yourself a favor, grab yr girl/guy and GO...(On weekends it's good to call ahead and make a reservation) and lastly, when you see the owner, tell her EJ sent you!

We had drinks, wings and pizza. It was a great experience- perfect spot for some tasty dinner with friends on a Friday. We had three flavors of wings- thai peanut, honey bbq, and mango habanero. The wings were big in size and deliciously flavored. The thai peanut was my favorite actually. The large pizza and wings was honestly enough for 4 people but we overate because it was so good and ordered another chicken bacon bbq. The service was quick and friendly and the space was open and inviting. I'd definitely go again

I found this place courtesy of the internet after searching for places to brunch while staying in Providence, and what a find! Aside from beer, cocktails, mimosas, etc, they have a build your own Bloody Mary bar!!! The jumbalaya grits were delicious, as was the breakfast pizza that my husband ordered. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Providence!

Seated by hostess and given food menus and water. After 5 mins of waiting, asked hostess if we could have a drink menu; got it and waited another 10 mins (I actually kept track) while watching the 6 people who came in after us get seated and served drinks. No one ever came to our table to take our drink order. Hostess was standing directly behind us the entire time....did she not tell someone that we were sitting there waiting to be served? As we got up to leave, we told her we were going somewhere else since no one was helping us; she literally said “ok, have a great night!” The place was not busy at all, totally ridiculous.

A great downtown spot to meet with friends or family. A cozy pub, or is it a gastro-pub? Enticing offerings from salads to sandwiches, personal pizzas and great sides. A very relaxed oasis to have lunch or dinner. The wait staff is attentive and personable.

Cool place with impressive plates. Relaxed but fun atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. I had a delicious open-faced salmon BLT. The home fries were just right and the fresh fruit was super fresh and tasty. Paper towels in the bathroom - I like it!

One of our favorite places in Providence, there's something here for everyone. We once participated in a wing challenge, we told the owner we would be back to try other types of wings and she suggested a certain flavor. The owner also gave us a free card to try the wings next time which was much appreciated. We love the different cocktails and friendly service here. Definitely try the garlic knots!

Picky eater approved. They didn’t seem to have a Children’s menu but they did have a grilled cheese special that they tweaked (was supposed to be grilled cheese with bacon, caramelized onions, mustard and a side of chili he had a grilled cheese with bacon and French fries). He was so happy with his food. I had the felony burger (so good, wish I had ordered it with a lettuce bun, my sisters burger can with a lettuce bun so we changed buns). Wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

I don't give out 5 stars freely. I have stopped here a few times for mid week lunch and evening drinks. It is one of my favorite spots in Providence to meet with friends or work colleagues. The environment is very welcoming, the restaurant, bar and restrooms are always spotless. The food is simple yet original and always great. I have had multiple items off the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. The beer selection is not huge but all my favorites are always available. The bar mixes quality drinks and the staff is always on point.

Had a cheeseburger yesterday and the meat was dry and tough like they overworked it. They stacked the double burger so high it was impossible to eat with my mouth, needed to cut it up. The smell of truffle fries throughout the restaurant made me nauseous. Prices are pretty high. Not a fan

We were on our way to Newport, RI on Friday and decided to stop for lunch in Providence. Having never been to Providence, googled and chose The District. Sat at the bar and Lea made us feel welcome in a way that reminds of a local pub. Ordered the homemade meatballs and margarita pizza and both were excellent. Lea told us about Sunday brunch and so on our way back from Newport we dropped in for brunch and were fortunate that Lea had take a Sunday shift and she was again our bartender/server. Brunch was great (avocado toast, eggs benedict, mimosas with personal iced bottle of champagne), but the experience is really elevated when you have an excellent bartender who is friendly, warm and professional. Thanks Lea!

Very average, unimpressive food, service and atmosphere. We went on a Thursday at 6:30, it was really hot inside. I ordered a salmon burger, specified that it be cooked medium-rare and it arrived dry and overcooked. Our table also ordered a hummus plate app, tater tots app, drinks, salmon dinner, and eggplant sandwich. Nothing was horrible, but not great either. I wouldn't return with so many great restaurants in Providence.

The food is generally good. However the other day we were served undercooked chicken wings. I understand things happen and they served us another batch which was cooked well. I don't want free food or a handout, however, I feel like in situations like this we shouldn't of had to pay for the wings. Honestly though, my first bad experience here.

The quality has definitely gone down since they opened. Brunch is blah... best thing is the mimosas, french toast is WAY too sweet. My husband liked the chicken and waffles. Our last visit I had the avocado toast... too much lime and just tasted like it was thrown in a blender..not really my thing. Pizza and wings are what they do best here (have had better)-- if you visit I would stick to this. Service is pretty okay... can't really complain. P.s. I have visited for their shows on Friday or Saturday nights... that's pretty cool.

The bruschetta was incredible. The mozzarella was the star of the show, as it should always be. The food came out fast and the portions were a very good size. Everyone there was very polite, and it was very clean. I'll definitely go there again when I'm in town.

The District is one of my favorite spots in Providence for great food and live jazz & neo-soul music. It has a super-chilled vibe with a friendly, diverse clientele and caters to the 35+ age range really well. If you go on the weekends grab a table early because it's a small space that fills up quickly. I only wish they had a dance floor... oh well... It offers great food with amazing brick oven pizzas, creative and healthy salads and wonderful service. It's a great place to meet friends after work or for Sunday brunch and is a good value so I highly recommend it.

Do yourself a huge favor and eat here. Randomly picked this restaurant because of its proximity to a nearby bar where we were having a party. Made a last minute reservation for 15...which they accommodated without an issue. Had drinks .. Amazing... With the best bartender and then had excellent service for dinner .. Which was served and completed in about an hour (for 15 people !!). The owner, Jen, greeted us and was so welcoming. And the food? Wings. Amazing. Garlic knots? Amazing. Pizza? Yup, amazing. Try the Buffalo Chicken pizza. I understand from others in my group that the sandwiches and burgers were also great. We loved it so much, we returned in the morning for brunch. Just as good. Three words... Chicken and Waffles. Go here. Seriously. We will be traveling back from CT to go again.

Yum! The pizza was super good. We got a half chicken bacon ranch and half meat pizza. Very good! One downfall, however it is not the restaurant's fault, one downfall is parking. The parking is horrible for not only this restaurant, but any nearby restaurants.

Unfortunately my experience was not positive. We tried visiting the place for the first time on a non holiday, July 6th I believe, and the place was closed! We had researched the website and google prior and there was no mentioning of the restaurant being closed. Finally we made it back a few months after for dinner. The waiter was Steve G if I recall correctly. We ordered a pizza and made it clear to the waiter we were strict vegetarians. We ordered the pink sauce pizza without the sausage. While eating our pizza , what looked like a piece of meat fell into the plate. When we ask the waiter what it was he responded "I don't know" and walked away. He never even offered to find out. When we finished our meal we pressed the issue further and asked him to find out what the small cube shaped piece was on each of our plates. Finally he asked the chef and he said it was sausage that was in the pink sauce and he was not aware of it. We left the restaurant disgusted and did not feel the rest of the night. I would not recommend this restaurant.

My boyfriend and I just ate dinner here. We had pizza and the crispy fish! I wish I had take a photo of the crispy fish! It was huge and tasty. The cod was so flaky and perfectly seasoned! I enjoyed the coleslaw too. The pizza was so delisciua. It is baked in a stone oven that heats to 700 degrees and spins in a circle according to our amazing bartender Matt. He was very attentive and served us with a quickness! They even had live music (every Friday night r&b). We will be back!

Had one of the most popular items there which was the chicken and waffles and it was good at all. The chicken was dried and unflavored. The coating on the chicken was not good either. There was no seasoning and very bland. I've had better Chicken and waffles at Rouge island which is located in the arcade in downtown Providence. Snce the district is so popular it has lots of business, I would like to try it again but I will definitely but not we getting the chicken and waffles again . On a positive note the service is fairly fast and the staff are very nice and efficient.
