Don't be fooled by the way both locations look on the outside... it's plain and simple as well on the inside but the Thai food is as good as if not better than the fancier Thai spots I've been to... I'm partial to the Chalkstone location...it's BYOB so plan ahead...the curried fish dishes are well prepared very fresh.

This place is better than a typical Thai restaurant. Good pad Thai, good fried rice, good curry. Large take-out portions. Vegetables were pretty fresh.

Some of the best Thai food that I have eaten at upside of Thailand. It is cooked the way it is done in a house, so the food truly tastes authentic. Maybe I’m wrong, but based on the home cooked meals I’ve had while visiting Thailand in the past, I’m confident in what I say. The atmosphere does strike you as a bit more fancy when you enter, but it’s not pretentious. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, as well. Will you have so much food that you’re u have enough for leftovers for two people, per entree you order? Probably not, unless you are as tiny as my wife. Will you feel satisfied and leave with a full stomach? Most assuredly. I never order the same thing when I eat here, I tend to jump between a few different dishes. My favorite has to be the pad kee mao, but I enjoy my super spicy drunken noodles. But it’s not so overly spicy that it’s painful, it hits the mark just right. The other thing my wife and I love here is the mango sticky rice. Sweet mango sliced over coconut infused sticky rice. Mango is cold, rice is warm. Very satisfying. The staff is very friendly as well. They always remember you, and the things you order regularly. Definitely a great date night spot.

My husbsnd and have been eating at Thai Star for a few years in Providence. It's so great to be able to go down the street in Cranston to enjoy our fav foods! Steamed dumplings...mango rolls, Thai icevtea, Tom Kai Gai...delish!

BAD, BAD AND BAD! THE WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN. VERY SALTY, AND VERY PRICEY. I GIVE THIS PLACE 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR. IF THE STAR RATING ALLOWED ME I WOULD LEAVE ZERO STARS.

Passing through the state, wanted to grab Thai for lunch, found this place and happy we did. Great lunch prices, and the fried rice was some of the best I've ever had. So flavorful! If I'm ever around again and in the mood for Thai food, I know where I'm going.

We all have a spot we take someone on the first date, this is my spot lol I love Thai Star and have introduced many friends and family tbh everyone love it. I have never had a bad experience with Thai star and I mean ever. The consistency of great quality food is what keep me coming back. I order literally the same thing all the time hahha no menu needed unless I’m feeling fancy which my sis introduced me to the mango desert omgawd it’s like orgasm in your mouth hahah. The server and owner is extremely friendly and very accommodating. I don’t understand why people complain about quantity or prices of authentic delicious home cook food while dining out. Just to set the record straight you’re paying for quality not quantity. I will continue to be a customer and recommend Thai star to those who’s looking for quality service, quality food!!!

We like this place a lot. I like spicy pad thai and they will make it however spicey you want it. The last time we ordered for take out and I ordered the pad thai with medium spiciness. They did not mix it in and just added it on the side. I wasn't too happy with that but it was still good.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find that a truly authentic Thai establishment was open near my house. Try the papaya salad, don't order anything spicy (my favourite) unless you mean it. Byob and I love this place!
