You will be able to see the reviews of people who are buying the products and services of Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille on Federal Hill (Restaurant) in Rhode Island area.
At the moment this firm has a score of 4.3 stars over 5 and that score is based on 155 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is very positive, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Italian restaurant.
Being from Boston this is the North End at it's best!!! Jenn was excellent, vallet parking service the best!! A for the lunch we had great portions well prepared and delicious.....a must go to restaurant !!!!!!
Tavolo was a great stop tonight. They had the doors and bay windows open. The wine was good, a little pricey. The food was delicious! They also had a good selection of sports on the TV. Definitely will visit again!
The food is already fantastic & the staff are great!
Have had several great meals here. Christmas eve was a little disappointing, but pleasant enough.
My special was amazing! Food is great! Staff is very friendly! Cool atmosphere!
Fantastic food, beef shank pasta was amazing! Great wine list!
Atmospheres wonderful food is great
Ask for Victor. He is so knowledgeable with his drinks my wife and I had a blast. Top shelves service.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service, (Ryan was the man!) great music. Great place to go with friends to have a relaxing time
First time at Tavolo and definitely won't be my last. Waiter was amazing with his wine recommendation and service. The food is unsurpassed. I highly, greatly recommend this spot.
We had awesome day for our Christmas party
We shared a nice salad for an appetizer and then had excellent Seafood dinners!
Exceptional food and service. Cozy atmosphere. Stopped in for a late night dinner date. Wait staff was attentive and happy to offer wine suggestions. Highly recommend this place.
Love this restaurant
TL;DR: Great food with great service but the price is pretty steep. Came here for Italian and had a great time. The best thing on their menu that we've tried has got to the the Frutti de la Mare (not sure if got that correctly but it's basically seafood linguine). The texture and taste and portion was amazing, and the sauce has a very "seafood" taste (I know, I know that's the point, but you'd be surprised at how hard it is to get a good seafood pasta). Very impressed with it. I had the steak frites, which was cooked the way I like but otherwise, not very impressive. They also have a huge selection of wines and cocktails. Took a star off because the price is pretty steep plus parking is a pain around this area (complimentary [but really, not free] valet).
Food is excellent! Very accommodating in making some changes to my wife's dinner. Service is outstanding! Our waitress was also the bartender and hostess. Worth her weight in gold.
We tried Tavolo during restaurant week and it was delicious. The service was great and the good was so good. Would 100% recommend this place.
My first visit and what should’ve been my last visit here was very upsetting. I was pleased to find their beautiful patio with plenty of shade for my dog and I to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon after a long week of work. What I wasn’t pleased to find was a manager who didn’t even greet me but rather asked me how I got my dog on the patio??? So he clearly he wasn’t watching “his” restaurant for the entire duration of my stay there If he didn’t even notice me walk in with my dog in arms and go directly to the patio after saying hello to the bartender mind you. He then had the bartender ask me to move up front to the patio outside since I had my dog with me. He didn’t even have the decency to approach me himself and isn’t that the managers job? The manager should be dealing with any and all guest relations and any issues that arise instead of sending his employees to do his job for him unless he’s just incapable of doing his job which clearly Victor is. When I walked out to the front patio I realized it was completely in the sun with absolutely zero shade so I asked for my food which had just been brought out to me to be boxed up to go so that I could take my dog and find some shade elsewhere where we could enjoy the rest of our Sunday afternoon off. I gave the bartender my card and was holding my dog in my arms, he’s 11 pounds by the way and very sweet and quiet, and was waiting for my card to be returned to me so I could sign it and leave. Victor was running food to a table and looked at me and said I really needed to get “the dog” out of there right now. I don’t know if any fellow dog owners are reading this but the term “the dog” is very upsetting as my sweet little Elvis is my family. After leaving the restaurant completely upset I decided to call the Smithfield location and ended up being connected with the owner who was very kind and listened to me and also very upset at how I had been treated in his establishment. He also informed me that their patio is a dog friendly patio!!! This is something I think a manager who considers it to be his restaurant should know!!! ( management 101 learn the rules of your restaurant Victor!) And if you want to be treated with respect you need to treat your guests with respect or at least some decency. Against my better judgment I did decide to go back because the owner was kind and said he would take care of the situation. And because of the menu and wine list. A friend of mine was having dinner with her mom so I met up for a drink without my dog. When Victor the so-called manager saw that I was there he gave me a snide side look and said oh wow you’re back. So after that comment I said yeah I’m actually gonna be coming in on Sunday with my dog to sit in your dog friendly patio is that gonna be a problem? He then said to me really? You realize you’re in “my” restaurant right? He then proceeded to ask me how much I’d had to drink as if alcohol was the reason I was standing up for my rights. He offered no apology for kicking me out of the restaurant with my dog when it’s actually a dog friendly patio. And he proceeded to further insult me with his attitude and snarkiness! I have dined in, worked in and managed restaurants all across the country from Rhode Island to Georgia to California and I have never ever seen a manager with such a high opinion of himself who lacks the skill set to back it up! One thing I recall with every management training program I’ve ever gone through is that day one they put you in the dish pit. They do this for a reason, to teach you humility and ensure you understand and realize that everyone in the restaurant has a job to do and that the guest is the main focus. Victor needs a lesson in humility and the fact that the guest is the main focus especially when you kick someone out of a patio because they have their dog when the rules allow a dog to be on the patio! Not to mention Rhode Island passed a law saying every patio should be dog friendly. He lacks a skill set to manage, he doesn’t understand the rules of his restaurant or the law!
Good food but the one in smithfield has GREAT food. Federal hill is a great location & they valet for free.
Just love this place. Complimentary valet. Nice embiance. Great selection of wine. Food and service up there too.
Good environment and awesome bartender
Great place. Great food. Great service.
Each and every time we've been here for dinner the food, service, atmosphere and experience have been outstanding! Can't wait to bring our friends tonight.
Went to dinner here tonight. We had been for drink about a month before and I liked the atmosphere. We had a 6 pm reservation and the meals came after 7. I got the special - Sword fish. The swordfish was very good, potatoes and asparagus were room temp (I think the menu said it was supposed to be green beans) My daughter got a chicken pesto pizza and asked for no tomatoes but it had tomatoes. My husbands bolognese was unimpressive. He gets bolognese alot so his standards are high. I could tell by looking at it that it would not be great. It was not very meaty. My son and other daughter were happy with their pasta and chicken parm. Slow service from the waitstaff. He kept reassuring us it was coming but it didn't. We won't go back. There are too many restaurants on Atwell to try to go back to a mediocre restaurant.
Great service!!!
Nice atmosphere for drinks and company
Good service and decent food.
Great food and great service
Food was good. Waited 25 mins for check and then another 20 mins after we submitted payment. Would rate better if service was better.
Great food, so so on the service.
As a local business owner this has to be the worst service I have very seen. Made reservations and waited 16 minutes. Once we sat down it took our Waiter 11 mins to acknowledge my party and I. After ordering beverages, 10 minutes later we received our drinks. Slowly sipping them because we knew the service was unsatisfactory. After ordering our food we waited over an hour! My waiter Victor, was very defensive and non attentive, walking by my table repeatedly with lack of professionalism. Empty drink glasses for over 20 minutes. Basically told me without using the words that I was making this all us. Spoke with near by tables that victor was servicing and receive the same complaints. Food was wonderful.
Nice Place
I like the Smithfield Tavolo... Staff and Ambiance needs..
Food and service were very good.
Consistently delicious preparations
Evan is a great server at the bar. Great food and live music

Great service. Great ambiance.
Visited for their monthly wine tasting!! Excellent food and wine. They had gluten free pasta so that's a win. Great waistaff also
I ordered the "Sunday dinner". Sausage was completely burned and impossible to eat. They told us that they were going to comp us a drink to make up for the fact that the sausage was inedible. In the end, we were not comped the drink and all we got was a voucher for a future visit that includes a free dessert. Very disappointed.
Good food and atmosphere, service is hot or miss.
Loved It!! We went for my husbands birthday and because we had a Groupon. It was a fantastic experience. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. My 13 year old son said it was the best pizza he's ever had. The drinks from the bar are just as wonderful. I plan on going again and again, with or without the Groupon. It was worth every penny (not that I think it's all that expensive) especially for the quality and selection of great food and drinks, you get.
The best pomegranate margarita ever. Nice live music entertainment
Absolutely, great dining experience, enhanced by the outstanding service provided by the charming and affable Victor. Everything from the cocktails we enjoyed at the bar, to the appetizers and main courses were spot on! The evening was topped off with coffee and desserts around the outdoor fire pit. A memorable dining experience!
First visit this past weekend to the Providence location. It was very busy and they had some live guitar solo which was great. The kid playing looked like he was in high school but he was amazing! Our server Amanda was really helpful and wasn't rushing us. Our food was delicious and really like the decor in here!
Order was delay
Mad slow. I wasnt greeted for 10 minutes.
We had a 7:30 reservation and we're seated fairly quickly after a drink at the bar. Nice bar area with comfortable seating. The interior is low lighting and comfortable. We sat at a cozy two set table. It was a busy night with graduations. My girlfriend ordered the chicken parmesan and I ordered the Sunday pasta with meatballs. Both meals were very large portions and very very good. The Tuscan style bread with olive oil is delicious. I would give 5 stars but our server was sub par and not very attentive. We'll try again hopefully when it's not so busy.
We visited the restaurant by causality, and we have been positively impressed. The menu, although limited in the offering, is, well assorted and offer an interesting experience. The food was perfectly prepared and the ingredients were absolutely fresh. In my opinion, this restaurant could achieve much more with little improvements as: - a menu with more description - a service more accurate, today the impression is that it's too fast, it's ok but without soul. Overall a suggested try. Prices more than reasonable.
Awesome food
You definitely get the right amount of alcohol for your money. I haven't eaten at this restaurant yet, but I have had drinks and I have never been disappointed.
Ended up going here by accident, but we are glad we did! Our waitor was excellent, very friendly, very pleasent. Before we left, he even showed us their back patio, which was very nice. It has tables and great seating around a small fire pit, very cool place to come and have cocktails. The food and drinks were both great, can't wait to come back and sit in that patio!
Great food and atmosphere definately a must go to this providence location. Plan on going back.
Food was great!
Went during restaurant week for lunch. Food was amazing, price was great for what we got. Service was super slow, but everything else more than made up for it.
Great soup. I ordered bolognese which was great in and of itself, but that white bean soup! Just give a bowl and bread and I could have it everynight.
Great food and service.
I had the Zuppa Di Clams and Meatballs app w/Shrimp Putenesca. Nice portions, homemade pasta. Great bartender.
Haven't had a bad meal or experience yet.
Excellent bar service!
Best shrimp scampi I've had in a long time. Amazing wine selection, great bartenders and live music. Worth the visit!
Me and my friends like to try a new restaurant every Sunday. We looked at the menu at Tavolo and it did look good. We arrived on our scooters and parked them on the public side walk not blocking anyone. We were immediately yelled at by the manager of Tavolo and swore at us for leaving them out in front of his restaurant. Being caught off guard we moved them to another location which the other restaurant did not mind. Even tho we wanted to go to Tavolo we neglected to enter because of being approached that way. We went to an alternative place which was fantastic and went to our scooters and saw the men. He gave us a very dirty look and I wanted to discuss with him about how we wanted to go his restaurant but he made us feel uncomfortable. Short-time after he told me to go "kill my self" and that he has friends in the mafia that can take care of me. He is best friends with the owner and the valet person said that are really similar. Disgrace to the beautiful foundation of Fed Hill!
This is my first bad review ever. Worst Ahi Tuna I have ever had. Could not finish it. Our server was nice but all the food left a lot to be desired. Someone recommended the place to me but, I guess they have never had Italian food anywhere else. I had heard good things but was horribly disappointed. It was like they had seen pictures of certain food but had no clue on how to make it or what it was supposed to taste like. Try some place else and hopefully it will be better.
Great food; we did the Providence restaurant week menu. Nice flavors. Excellent in house infused olive oil, spicy.
Excellent place to eat also. Great food and great service!
Our server Kayla was awesome, we noticed that she and one other server was taking care of all the tables, and they did an amazing job communicating with each other on who has which tables. The guy in the blue Tavolo shirt (which I am assuming is the owner) helped out with seating, and serving food/drinks, which is also great to see (if he is the owner I wish he introduced himself though). We had the fried risotto balls, shrimp scampi and braised pulled beef shank.. EVERYTHING was delicious (especially the risotto balls). It was our first visit but definitely not our last! P.S. wine selection was great!
We enjoyed an excellent dinner. Service was great (Michael B). I would recommend this Restaurant. Very pleasant 1st experience. We will definitely go back.
I don't recommend Tavolo. There are many other restaurants on the Hill worth your hard, earned money.
Great food Service is Amazing Friendly Atmosphere
Had a Christmas party there... this place is amazing!
A wonderful dining experience! Truly a gem on Federal Hill!.The Bolognese over Ravioli was excellent!
Romantic dinner great Italian food amazingly great wine book.
Excellent atmosphere, food and service.
Average food for Atwells. 80's musak constant in the back was quite unfortunate.
Phenomenal Chefs make great authentic dishes served by knowledgeable and personable Wait Staff. A+
Awesome food! Friendly wait staff is very attentive. We occasionally go for lunch and always come away happy. My only complaint is that the ladies room hasn't been cleaned prior to opening for lunch. At times we arrive when they open and are their first customers of the day, yet the restroom looks well used every time. My husband reports that the men's room also needs attention. That said, Tavolo has become our favorite restaurant. I definitely recommend it.
Amazing experience. GREAT service. Would definitely be a regular customer. A must try
Food and staff AMAZING
Pricey but good food
