This Restaurant is included in the category of Italian restaurant.
Wow!! Cannot wait to come back. Octopus, scallops were better than most meals we've had in Boston. Be sure to check out the italian wine store next door while you wait for your table and they may have tastings going on.
Waiting staff is wonderful. Food is delicious! And Monday is half price wine by the bottle and glass!
We have been coming here for years now. Food is always spot on. Definitely make reservations as it fills up quick. The fried potato pancakes are out of this world. Chicken parm is always a classic and the gnocchi is also a favorite. We received a warm welcome the minute we entered the door. Our waiter was knowledgeable and most friendly. The food delicious with a homemade touch! I would return in an instant.
The food was amazing. We went in just to have an seafood appetizer. The bartender recommended the grilled octopus served over giant beans appetizer which was so good we ordered the sea scallops served over ravioli. Best seafood ever.
Best restaurant in RI.
Very good Italian restaurant in Federal Hill. Try the Rigatoni with chorizo, it one of their excellent specials.
This place was fantastic, we had a 8pm reservation but a few tables wouldn’t leave. The manager came over to my group multiple times to apologize for the wait and even gave us two free appetizers for the inconvenience. A+ customer service and the food was amazing as well!
Had our Christmas party here, the food and the service were amazing I highly recommend this place.
Reservations made for 715, not sat until well after 745. My date and I both ordered a glass of the same red wine to have with dinner. We received two completely different tasting glasses. We figured maybe one was poured from the last of a bottle and then the second may have been a new bottle? Unsure we advised the waitress whom then called over the manager. He was a gentleman and insisted that both glasses came from the same bottle and poured a new glass. The service was attentive minus the wait time, the food was mediocre, my dish was room temperature and his was steaming hot. Also the tables are extremely close together. We sat beside a group of three who were loud and impossible tune out. Overall a decent experience, however due to our wait time and mediocre food I don’t believe we will return.
First time there. Excellent.
Food was delicious. Had the Anatra which is duck confit with mascarpone raviolis. Highly recommend this dish. Service was great even on a busy weekend night.
Nick was my server tonight he was awesome.... I took my fiance there for the first time for Valentine's day the food was absolutely amazing every bit of every thing ordered and service second to none atmosphere is cozy and perfect ....We Loved it and it was a perfect night out on the hill. We will be back for sure this place deserves a 5 star all day without question just great food authentic and delicious. All the service was great from the valet to everyone involved we are very satisfied and happy. Thank you for an experience eating out the way it should be done.
Top notch, bold school Italian. A great place for a special occasion or just some home cooked Sunday sauce. When in Providence, make this a place to go on your list!
Food is amazing atmosphere is awesome
Great food and great service.
No atmosphere, food was less than "cooked" to order, veal parm was a disaster.
Food was delicious but I wouldn't go back because of the service and margaritas were terrible.
Venda has much better food
I wanted to like this place, but my experience was very disappointing. It was my first time, so I asked the waiter what the person next to me was eating. He said “the veal”, which I understood to mean the veal from the menu. I looked at the menu, saw it was $27, and ordered it. The waiter never told me it was actually the veal special, and that it was almost double the price of a normal veal. I didn’t find out until the check arrived. The manager, Nick Rampone, said that the waiter assumed I didn’t care about the cost, so he didn’t tell me. I find this upsetting, because the waiter shouldn’t decide what’s important to me. He knew that the special wasn’t listed, so it was his responsibility to tell me, regardless of his opinion. As a guest, I'm relying on him.
Awesome food. If you are visiting Area is really nice as well. They have gluten free menu. I had gluten free pasta with Alfredo sauce was out of the world. They served olive oil with fresh gf bread roll. Yes stick to wine cocktails are okay. But it's italian...
The best Italian food I've ever had. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the staff is warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. A truly outstanding restaurant!!
If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. There are a million reasons why I wouldn't go here ever again. "Specials" last for months, the food is subpar, the owners are horrific and extremely disrespectful, employees are miserable, ordering food to go? It'll just be scraps thrown into a plastic container. Also, I tried to use a gift card that I bought there at the restaurant and they denied it as payment. They claimed I had tampered with it in a way, adding points to get free food, and that the cops would be contacting me. This was extremely rude, insulting, unprofessional, and ridiculous! They threw away my food and told me to leave. Esther is the witch in charge. This place is a disgrace.
Outstanding. Meatball appetizer is divine as is the burrata and prosciutto. Lovely
Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Was able to get a drink while waiting for our table. The food was good, but definitely not worth the price. Very friendly staff.
Experienced good service including the food expediters. The food was excellent! Space is a little tight - expect to hear conversations at other tables and/or the kitchen/galley area depending on where you are seated - but don't let that deter you. This place is pretty great and certainly one of the best on Federal Hill.
Excellent food, the calamari is incredible. Service was top notch
Excellent dinner excellent service!
Great service and while the menu has some holes it’s mostly well executed.
We were there with a large group of people (over 30) after a funeral. Service was good despite the size of our party. We were glad they had one vegan option on the menu which was very good. More than one vegan option would have been better!
Amazing service. Delicious food. The best tiramisu. Must try if you are visiting Rhode Island.
Great vittles. Linguini with seafood in a tomato based sauce was wonderful.
The food was absolutely delicious! Very accomodating to my gluten allergy and Our waitress was great. It was a bit loud in the restaurant and we were seated about 20 mins after our reservation time.
Great food. Pleasant place for fine dining. Excellent wine list to accompany your exceptional dinner. You will return again to the best Italian restaurant in Providence. Enjoy!
Really good food and atmosphere, but be prepared for the hit to your wallet.
Monday half priced wine! Get the bread pudding, extra crispy.
Delicious food. Great service
Best restaurant in Providence. Love coming here.
Beautiful interior, right-sized and intimate. Spectacular, creative and delicious food. Competent wine list.
Great service. Good veal and swordfish. Over all extremely positive
We visited Pane E Vino for our anniversary. Our family surprised us with a gift card. Luigi was our waiter, he was amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional! We started with the Italian cheese plate which was amazing. My husband had Seafood Fra Diablo, the pasta was so fresh and tender and the sauce had a great kick to it. My scallops were perfect. This broke our streak of terrible anniversary dinners! If you're seeing a show, give yourself an hour at least to dine so you can really enjoy your experience, it's worth every penny!
The single greatest gelato I've ever tasted
Very good italian taste
Visiting home for a few days from Mississippi & found this cozy, Tuscan style gem. Impeccable service provided by Leo. Also enjoyed the perfectly prepared Mussels.
Great GF food, and GreaService
Fantastic experience. Service and food was wonderful
Incredibly sweet, attentive service and absolutely delicious food. They have an extensive gluten free menu and no problem navigating other allergies. Can't wait to go back!
Food was delicious ! Pasta with meatballs. Portions were awesome. Nice and clean. Staff were very attentive to our needs.
We went during Providence Restaurant Week and had a fantastic 3 course meal for $34.95. Absolutely delicious, from the stuffed zucchini flowers, to the entree ( linguini with tuna, anchovies, olives, garlic, etc) and the incredible dessert.... tiramisu! All get an A++
Warm atmosphere. Very good food. Great service. I'd skip the Eggplant Parmesan but everything else was excellent.
Great Food with Excellent Service
The food was delicious and our server was great. HOWEVER we had a reservation but were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. Our food took 1 hour to get to our table. You would think a restaurant would provide a complimentary appetizer, drink or dessert however this was not the case. Also, being apologetic for these issues would go a long way however none of the staff appeared to be phased by these issues.
Good food and wine, old fashioned decor, good service
What a delight! The meal (the Duck for me) was excellent and the cocktails were remarkable (Italian Old Fashioned and Amalfi Negroni
Luigi, who had only been serving for three weeks, was fantastic. Courteous, well versed in the menu, presented all the specials from memory. We come every time we are in Providence.
Great place for out of town guests
I made a reservation for one, which meant I had to sit at the bar. When I asked for a table, I was told I had to sit at the bar. Then bartender said the seat I was sat in by the hostess was reserved for someone else. Felt very unwelcome. Then I sat waiting to give order for 15 minutes. Mind you I decided in less than a minute and sat with my menu closed while I waited. Then the people who my seat was reserved for came and wow, they were treated completely different. They immediately got drinks. They were asked about ordering appetizers, and given bread. All before I got talked to at all, and while i sat and waited. Bartender finally said "do you need something?" I said, yes to order. I finally did. Food was good, not great. Service obviously lousy. Another regular came and sat next to me and was treated like a VIP. So I guess it was just me who was treated like I was inconveniencing the bartenders.
While visiting Brown University, my grandmother, mother and I stopped by my all-time favorite Italian spot. I had been dreaming of coming back to this place for two years since we last visited. As usual, the service, food, decor, and overall atmosphere were impeccable!
We took the commuter rail down for Boston after work one night specifically to visit this place. All I can say is that it was worth it. Started at the friendly bar, with a couple of generous cocktails expertly poured and garnished, and then took our reserved table in a quiet side-room. From start to finish, each course was flawless. Flawless delivery, pacing, and composition. The triple cream burrata was made from local mozzarella cheese, and each of the three pasta dishes we ordered to share were best-in-class. But the standout, the dish that makes me want to go back every week, was the Anatra, the roast duck with fig & walnut ravioli. Seriously one of the best duck dishes I've ever tasted, Highly recommend this place.
Fantastic, service was great, prices reasonable , will consume again
Awesome decor, romantic, great food
Very good chicken with mushrooms and the staff was fantastic.
Great family celebratory dinner with a large party. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The gluten free menu was excellent and our server had the kitchen make a special serving of gluten free calamari. Oh, and the gluten free bread—to die for. I ate an entire basket. Everyone was pleased with the food and service and we would love to return.
I had first been to Pane-E-Vino about a month back with my colleagues and our experience was great in all ways. So I had highly recommended this place to my friend and this past weekend our families visited for a celebration. We had made a reservation for a party of seven (4 adults and 3 kids) for 8:30 PM. We reached the restaurant at 8:29 PM and we were told it will take a few minutes for our table to be ready. There were a few other parties waiting for their table at the same time, at least one of them was a large party as ours. Within a few minutes everybody else had been taken to their tables and our party was the only one waiting. At about 8:45 pm we were told again that the previous party at the table is just about wrapping up and we should have the table in a few minutes. It was only at about 9 PM that we finally got the table, this was 30 minutes late in spite of making a reservation (all parents will know what a 30 minute wait is for dinner when kids are with you). I found this very unusual. Another unusual thing was that their website says "A 20% gratuity will be added to parties of 8 or more". However this 20% gratuity was automatically added even for us, a party of seven. While the 20% was deserved, I felt it was wrong on the part of the restaurant to add it automatically for our party. Food was great, but I felt overall experience wasn't.
Great dinner we had party of 10. They took great care of us. Food excellent!
Outstanding food, great atmosphere very family friendly
Amazing in every way. Best zucchini flowers, fabulous specials and also the main menu has favorites that won't disappoint. Our waiter was SO EXCITED about the food and drink he was serving. Lots of pride. A hidden gem at the end of Atwells... Can't wait to go back.
Service good, unobtrusive, food was a delight as was the atmosphere. A quiet corner room, with privacy curtains.
Service was phenomenal, and my waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The food was decent, but nothing to go back for. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious; however, everything else was mediocre. All in all, a bit disappointing.
Food, wine, atmosphere and exceptional service!
Very good food. Great service. Small surrounding, wish were bigger, but otherwise great restaurant, highly recommend it.
Excellent food and service. Good choices for Celiac's to have a real meal.
Pane e Vino is one of our favorite restaurants to visit on Federal Hill. They have a great wine selection that pairs wonderfully with and dinner you select. We probably visit 5-10 times a year and we're never disappointed.
Amazing chocolate cake. Bolognese is very well seasoned. The veal chop with lemon sauce is way too sour.
Delicious food, great service and the atmosphere was super friendly, casual yet elegant!
Came for a birthday dinner. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation. They offered us free drinks at the bar. Wait staff very friendly.
Air vents inside very dusty need to be clean. Food was okay nothing to brag about much better food on the hill.
PANE E Vino OMG!! At 365 Atwells Ave. in the heart of Rhode Island’s little Italy lies Pane E Vino a restaurant that’s a cut above the rest. Impossible to drive by without being captivated by this charming quaint building with cascading flowers from every windows flower box. The allure from the light of candles beckons you in. Once inside the aroma from the kitchen will delight your senses. Entrées exiting the kitchen are of the finest quality, beautifully presented, a masterpiece on a plate instead of canvas. All ingredients are bought fresh daily then prepared with the utmost care; mixing herbs and spices in such a unique way it leaves you wanting more. Each entrée is paired with a different vegetables made to complement the individual dish. Simply amazing! No matter what you select, be it Veal or Steak will melt in your mouth, the Seafood dishes are so fresh and clean tasting you can’t put down your fork and the pasta, well the pasta, goes without saying, “to the tooth”. Pane E Vino’s extensive menu has something for everyone. Portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. The menu created by Executive Chef Joseph De Quattro is a stroke of genius. Pane E Vino undoubtedly deserves a MICHILIN STAR! How do I know all this? I know because it was Mothers’ 90th birthday so my sister and I planned a very special event for her. Since we reside in Florida this was no easy task; except, we had the very good fortune to choose Pane E Vino owned and operated by Joseph and Esther De Quattro. I called the restaurant from Florida asking to speak with the event coordinator who happened to be Esther herself. Lucky us! To my surprise, Esther knew how to listen and when I explained what I wanted Esther simply replied. “I’m here for you please don’t worry I’ll do anything to help”. Immediately my fears were put to rest. Anything I asked of her from start to finish was never a problem. Even my decorating instructions, including the setting of the tables with the runners, napkins and flowers were handled impeccably. I couldn’t have been more pleased if I had done it myself. To my surprise the staff at Pane E Vino’s was NOT your ordinary, going through the motion workers; no, not at this restaurant. Every member exuded an air of pride in their job. All of them truly enjoyed working at this restaurant. Always smiling, happy to help in any way, and the comradery among them was sincere. They were as happy to be there as we were! Unbelievable! I can’t say enough good things about Pane E Vino. Now two weeks later and my family and friends are still raving about the food, the wine and the service. Some of them have already returned for an encore. Pane E Vino is an experience in dinning. This restaurant a must. If you are traveling, take the time and detour to this restaurant. I promise you won’t regret it. P.S. A very special thanks to Esther De Quattro.
Meatballs melt in your mouth and the sauce is wonderful. Highly recommend!
Great food, service and ambience
Wine, food, and service was fantastic! Recently moved to the area and Pane e Vino was recommended to be. Highly recommend the Arancini for an appetizer, lobster ravioli and bolognese as your main, and the cannoli for dessert. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. We will be coming back!
I have not been to this resturant but so happy my husband and I had dinner here tonight ! It was simply amazing. From pattie our waitress, the wine, lighting and food... was just incredible. I had the salmon and my husband had the lobster risotto. We usually stay away from the hill but glad we drove by and decided to eat at Pane e Vino. We will be back Thank you for a great dinner !
Very attentive service with excellent food.
Overall pretty great. Fantastic food and decent service. However, they stuff too many tables into their space. Not much room between tables and the tables are quite small- perfect for a cafe, but not ideal for a restaurant.
My favorite restaurant in Providence...extraordinary food; great service.
Solid experience, and the staff was wonderful. Mounds of mozzarella, or other cheese seem to,be used to cover up some of the less exciting eats. Overall tasty.
Amazing service. I dropped a fork and seconds later a server brought me a new one. Fully staffed so you never feel like you have to try to flag someone down. Really attentive. Our waitress was soft spoken but very sweet. I loved my dish. Perfectly done. Was seated, ordered, ate and paid within one hour on a Saturday at 7:30pm (we called in a reservation which is highly recommended here as it gets packed) My drink was just ok but this is probably the best Italian food I've ever had. I don't really like Italian food but this place won me over.
Really great. Will go again of course.
7 fishes dinner was great. Our waiter was polite and the place was great
Loved the whole experience here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic, especially their eggplant dish. Loved the steak special as well! We highly recommend trying this place out. This may be our new favorite restruant on Federal Hill!
Superb Italian cuisine. Very knowledgeable waiter and good ambience. Recommended
Amazing experience; the staff was lovely and the guacamole was handmade right in front of us! Would recommend.
Quiet and unassuming on the outside but inside you'll find incredible food and an attentive staff. When in Providence, Pane e Vino is a must.
Great food. Waiter Jason was great .Highly recommend
In a city with great American Italian restaurants, Pane e Vino is one of the best. Excellent food and hospitable service from the gregarious maitre'd to the capable wait staff can be expected here. The pasta dishes are tremendous, but don't miss the entrées, especially the veal chop.
I visited Pane e Vino with a group for a birthday dinner. Everything was exceptional. The valet made it super easy to get in to meet everyone on time, service was impeccable and the food was so delicious. The interior is super cozy and it really makes for an intimate experience. They have an extensive wine list and a huge gluten free offering. At one point we ordered a bottle of wine and didn't like it and they offered to exchange it for a different one. I wouldn't hesitate to book a table here again. It's perfect for special occasions!
The best Italian restaurant in Federal Hill. Truly Italian!
Probably the best restaurant I’ve been to in Providence. It’s a really classy place, the kind of restaurant you’ll feel like a pos if you wear jeans. Usually not my thing but their food was incredible. I’m from Colorado so most seafood here blows my mind but the halibut special was perfect. Expensive but absolutely worth it.
From setting up the reservation to the end of dessert this place was great. Shannon set up the res and was very pleasant on the phone. Our waiter Zach was attentive and came over at the right times to check on my wife and I without intruding or hovering. Everyone I dealt with was awesome. They all looked as though they enjoyed being there. Upscale, but reasonably priced. Food presentation was very good. I’m generally skeptical of trying new (to us) places as I’ve been to much more expensive restaurants that had poor service and mediocre food. Portions were of good size, we both brought leftovers home. The dessert was great as well. We had the cannoli trio. We will certainly visit again.
Incredible Gluten Free Menu! The buffalo mozzarella is a must have!
Had a very good dinner Amanda was my server at the bar !
Simply delicious! A little bit slow but it was worthy
Very good drinks.
Food is always amazing been coming here since they opened
Veal Saltimbocca SO good. Perfect portion sizes. Can't wait to go again.
Dinner and service was excellent. Our waiter was Jonathan and he was very attentive and helpful. He recommended great wines to go with our meals. We had the meatballs for an appetizer and couldn't recommend more! The place was crowded - definitely recommend reservations, but it wasn't loud and we were still able to have easy conversation. Husband got the Chicken Parmesan and I got the Bolognese - couple right next to us got the same thing, lol. Delicious dishes that weren't enormous - if we hadn't had the meatballs we likely would've splurged on dessert.
Food and service is wonderful. My second time here. Lobster ravioli is my favorite but tonight I had the special, seafood pasta dish and it was very tasty with Neapolitan pasta, wine and tomato sauce coupled with shrimp and lobster need I say more! Completely mmmmmh worthy. My friend had the pork chops, I'm trying those next. The chops along with the fig is divine. The service is immaculate and the staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and sauces. I look forward to going again.
Decent Southern Italian food and atmosphere. Service way very good and accompanying. For the prices, would expect better quality and quantity. I had the fra diavolo with scallops. The portion size was small and the sauce was pasty. I will try other area restaurants first before returning. Just too pricey for what you get in value.
Food awesome, service spot on. We loved it!
Love the food Especially the Lobster ravioli
Excellent Italian! My seasonal favorite ate the squash blossoms. Serve is impeccable!
What an evening! Delicious food in a warm and charming atmosphere--like being back in Europe. The Cosmo and negroni were perfectly made, Jason's service was attentive and professional. Ending with the bread pudding should not be missed! We can't wait to return for another wonderful evening!
Everything was perfect for my son’s birthday. There were decorations on the table and the dinner was unbelievable (best i have ever had and it didn’t break the bank!) Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent service, good wine list, ordinary food. Four of us had father's day dinner. Service from Patti was attentive and pleasant. Caesar salad was good. Beet salad had hardly any beets and small portion of arugula, below expectations for beet salad. We got 2 chicken marsalas, one pasta dish, and the veal osso bucco special. All ordinary, none well flavored. I read lots of reviews here with superlatives. Hard to believe. Maybe the kitchen had a bad night. At this price level I expect homemade pasta, but theirs is all imported from Italy. The super tuscan wine Patti recommended was perfectly fine. The salted caramel ice cream was very good. Noise level a bit high for conversation. I have had much better quality food on the hill. Do not plan to return.
Authentic, Creative, Delicious Italian Food. A great "can't miss" place for dinner. 5 Stars everytime.
Amazing food. Great selection. Servers are quick with orders and drinks. Can be crowded at times.
Delicious meals, great atmosphere and service, too bad we timed out dinner during some kids birthday party...
Delicious dinner. Excellent service.
