We went all the way there just to get Johnny Cakes. There were awful!!!! I asked the waitress if they had been premade and then reheated. She said yes. Omelet was terrible. It said sautéed spinach and I asked if the onions were raw or cooked. She said the onions were cooked. They were cooked for probably 2 minutes at best and the spinach was clumps of thawed frozen spinach that had also been “sautéed” for about 1 minute. Terrible! I told the waitress it was all terrible. She offered me a new omelet, which I declined. Why would I torture myself further? But she could have taken something off the bill. She did not!

Good food, friendly atmosphere, though all this quality only earns it 3 stars due to the high cost of their food and my most recent experience with one of the waitresses. She forgot all of our silverware, maple syrup for our pancakes, and the check for a while. The quality of the food is amazing but the long wait for it and the cost limits the frequency with which I attend it.

Oatley's offers breakfast food that you can't find anywhere else such as johnny cakes, homemade sweet potato corned beef hash and fresh baked bread for toast. It is a cozy little breakfast place, great to stop at on the way to the beach.

Great eggs Benedict, pancakes, hash, eggs, jonnycakes, and home-made bread. Expect a wait on the weekends, but they keep it moving as best they can. Bottomless coffee is appreciated. There is seating at the breakfast bar too. Prices are reasonable. Family-owned, locals favorite. Country feel to it.

Waitresses don't really acknowledge you when you come in. It's hit or miss when you get there. Never know how long you're going to be standing to sit down when they are packed unless you waive down a waitress. The food comes out pretty quickly. It's usually very good quality. Their homemade breads are amazing. Johnny cakes are not the best I've tried in New England I wouldn't order them again...tables are always cleaned well. Price of food for quantity/quality? Hit or miss.

My order of western omelet with homemade honey wheat toast and a banana pancake on the side was a large portion which I couldn't eat and brought home for what will be a second meal sooner than later. And speaking of home, the taste and quality of everything on my plate was just as good as I've ever eaten or made at home! Then to top it off, all of the service was "country style" excellent filled with caring attention, courtesy and an obvious desire to make us feel welcome and unhurried even though we arrived just one half hour before closing time. We'll definitely be returning again and again! This is my new favorite place for breakfast and lunch.

If you get a chance to eat here do so this is the number 1! breakfast place in this state homemade everything from bread to hash to all they offer wish I lived closer I'd be a regular here. They are so gluten friendly, there gluten free bread is epic tasting, there breakfast is wonderful portions, friendly service. You get what you pay for. Some may say it's pricey, but for home cooked fresh style breakfast I have paid more for less...If you are looking for a nice breakfast place ..this should be on the top of your list...also must try sweat potato hash.

Oatley Family once cared a great deal for this family business.... But just like most family businesses, thenchildr n ruin it. Convenience store closed( not another within 2 miles). . Closed drive thru, ... All hail! Restaurant still alive..barely. Staff is bored, quiet, subdued, and the food is same. Not recommended for any meal..unless no other option. So the ONE good thing I could say is that the food didn't kill me:)
