small menu. great food. nice staff
They don't have nonalcholic beverages!? "We only serve beer or wine" YOU MUST drink
BEST CLAM CHOWDER EVER! Interesting Beer selections and great menu selections. When possible, their "smoked" chicken wings are something to experience.
Great food and music, prompt service. The beer selection is to die for
Best wings in Newport, finest beer selection north of NYC
Great jazz. Undercooked chicken. Not flexible with menu. Underwhelmed with Bosto lettuce salad. Burgers can be cooked two ways- pink or not. Overall a big disappointment for our first night visiting Newport.
Wrong place, wrong time. Watched the table behind us order, get their food, pay the bill and leave before we got our food. Had to asked to be waited on. Had to ask why food hadn’t appeared in 40 minutes. Then got the explanation that we got into the restaurant at the “wrong time”. They made good by buying our drinks. Waitress promised to bring more bread and didn’t. Disappointed to say the least.
Nori's has a fantastic beer selection from around the worldworld's
Great place!
Outstanding beer selection. Its fairly pricey per pint (or 10oz/12oz pour, depending on the draft) so be advised that your check average might be a little higher than you were expecting. Food is pretty amazing too and the menu rotates fairly frequently. In all honesty, this is usually the place that we go to have a few beers and an appetizer before walking down the street to get dinner elsewhere. Don't let that stop you from trying some of the entrees though.
Amazing selection of delicious beer, great service, and the staff are super knowledgeable. Overall a very pleasant and satisfying experience.
I was at Newport Hospital for a few days and have been taking walks down the street to take a break from the hospital vibe. This bar looked nice so I went in. The 2 girls behind the bar were terrible. Probably because I had a hat on. I went in with a smile and left with a smile. I was told I wouldn't be served because I had a hat on. I said "OK thanks" and left. I guess that it's their policy. I wear a hat frequently, I also take it off frequently. If I am going to buy a beer at a bar I will do so wearing a hat if I please. They didn't want my hard earned cash and they will never get it now. Love Pour Judgement though that is the place to go, just a minute walk down the street. I try and give you money for a beer and you tell me I can't wear a hat in your bar. I will wear my hat in another bar, right next to yours.
Staff was super friendly. Great selection of beers and wines. House made pasta was delicious. You better believe we kept the bone marrow bone to take a bourbon shot out of later. Mexican Coke washed down the little necks real well.
Beer list is next level
Great selection of one of a kind beers.
A beer list that rivals most beer bars in Manhattan. If you like beer, you should be drinking here. Life is short, drink nice things.
This place is pretty tasty, especially if you are looking for some smoked wings. They used to only have one dry rub wing on the menu but just added three new varieties so of course we had to try all four when we went in. I'd say that all three are valuable new additions but if I could only choose one I'd pick the buffalo wings. There is a great craft beer selection to go along with the food as well.
Absolutely enjoying our time here, quality drinks, craft beer, amazing food - the owner and bartender are offering top notch service, dining, and drinking. 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely amazing food. Their smoked wings, pot pies and chicken and waffles are the best I've ever had. Would be 5 stars except the wait time is generally pretty long. If you don't mind waiting a bit and sipping on some of their interesting beer choices I would highly recommend.
This people didn’t want to serve me because i was wearing tank top just like other people in there, maybe because i’m latino. That’s pretty much it felt. The chef was the one with an issue Because the bartender was going to seve me until he showed up.
Good food and friendly staff
Great food great beer .... Love 80s Saturdays!
Love this place, definitely the best beer bar in town
Loved he food and service !!
Great beer selection and wonderful food as always!
Ridiculous and angry establishment where they insult you to patronize it. They seem to be ignorant to any service whatsoever. There is no help or knowledge in choosing food or beer and they will not help you in any way.
Great beer selection. A little strange that you can't do beer tasting for certain beers on tap. Some are very expensive and it'd be nice to experience new beer flavors but without the tastings, it gets too expensive. Service is fine. The best wings, though!
We had friends in town and brought them for dinner. The duck special was so good add were the ribs.
We are not sold on this place I would recommend pour judgement. Beer was good but could of been better if staff new more about the menu. Food was okay but out took too long to get our food. The owner needs to do a better job on the staff knowledge on the beer menu and hire some help in the kitchen.
Don’t just come for the beer. The food is here 5 star worthy with a variety of options. The beer list can be overwhelming but there are some intriguing options - let the staff guide you to your new favorite choice
True cooking from heart
Always crowded, nice atmosphere.
Waited over an hour for our food. Service could use some refinement.
Great beer options
Meh... Service could be better for you buck.
Norey's touts itself as a bar that will even challenge the greatest of beer connoisseurs tastes. To this, I agree but not as one would think. While Norey's has an impressive list of imported beer bottles, the biggest challenge is price. Many beers cost in excess of $20 each, with several costing as much as $60 per bottle. These prohibitive prices are an immediate turn off. The food quality is good, but like the beers, is incredibly expensive. For example, a simple spaghetti dish goes for $20. With prices so high, one would imagine that the service is top notch, considering how small the restaurant is. This was not the case in my experience. My drink sat empty for over 30 minutes while the server socialized with the bartender. The restaurant was not busy as we were one of three parties visiting. Bottom line. The food is tasty but everything is incredibly overpriced. The service was subpar on a slow Thursday night.
A great selection of unique beers. Things you generally can't get anywhere else! The venue was quite unique. Somewhat older looking, but not rundown or anything. They had the French Connection playing on the tv. The food was great. I had a softshell crab sandwich which was very good and chocolate mousse, which was excellent.
The selection of beer is unique and well-curated. Food was outstanding, the ingredients were mostly prepared in-house. Three stars because the service was among the worst I have ever received. Nearly 2 hours on a weeknight for 5 of us to have a beer and dinner.
The. Place. For. Craft. Beer.
Cosy spot, delicious food, unique beer selections, live jazz on Thursdays. Always daily special chef creations.
Very different beer selection. We only had the four cheese dip (quatro fromaggi?), and it was good.
If you like beer and treat this place as a bar you might be ok. We made the mistake of treating it as a restaurant and were very disappointed. They advertise having homemade pasta but the marinara sauce tasted like barbecue sauce, literally. And while the meatballs were plentiful, they were hard and dry. Really a terrible meal. The chicken wings we're okay, and that goes back to my point that this place is a bar. Stay away from the food and perhaps you will like it
Excellent beer menu. They are working on trying to makebthwir own beer. Foodenubis excellent and their food tastes amazing. They do not have a kids menu if you do try and bring your kids
Food was excellent went on there Monday night special. Service was great very friendly.
Large beer selection
Unique in its own sense. Great food, even better beers. Edited: I shouldn't say "even better beers." The beer selection compliments the food. The food is always amazing. Very hospitable staff.
Great bar with am eclectic selection of beers
Last week I had some friends from Colorado visiting. Knowing they are use to some of the best beer selections I knew Norey's would be the only place to offer these guys something special. I wasn't sure what the food was going to be like, but in fact it was delicious. I'd say it's one of Newport's best kept secrets for tourists. Now that I'm a local I'm understanding why so many people go there! Clean, too. Awe...just a good place.
Had a great visit to Noreys 2 weeks ago. Excellent beer list...I wasn't familiar with most of the eclectic beer list. The bartender and owner both really knew their beer and were happy to share some knowledge. Drank a few great European sour ales. Also was able to sample several others. Thanks again! Will be back next time I am in Newport. We didn't eat, but the food looked terrific.
Great beer selection and unbelievable food. We stopped in fairly late for dinner, around 10 pm and they were more than accommodating. The baked stuffed pumpkin is better than any pumpkin pie your grandmother ever made. Wings, eat them, enough said! Amazing. Grilled peppers are also very welcoming. All around a not so hidden gem in Newport. So do yourself and your wife a favor and skip the meal at home tonight. Come on down to Noreys for tonight's meal. Except Sara Nadeau.
This is quickly becoming our favorite restaurant in Newport! My husband loves craft beer, and they have the longest draft list around. But the wine list is also lengthy and amazing! The chef takes every meal to the next level, and everything is perfect for the season and the weather outside. The waitress is always knowledgeable on the draft, wine and food menus. If there were more foodies in Newport, we'd find them all here. If you want to cozy up to a unique beer and an incredible meal, look no further! Also, ALWAYS leave room for dessert.
Great food and good music
Great beer selection, they have bottled Chimay Grand Reserve
Best bar in Newport and great food. Staff is great. Love this place
Norey's has the best craft beer selection I have ever seen. If you are a specialty beer lover, the 150+ beers they have available will have you feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. The ever-rotating tap list is jammed full of the rarest and most desired beers available in RI, such as Stone Imperial Russian Stout and Unibroue's La Fin Du Monde. I work at a liquor store with what I thought was a good selection of craft brews, but I was blown away to find a bar that seems to carry only the best of the best. The food is great, decoration is stylish, music night on Wednesdays has some of the best band to show up in Newport...but seriously, this place is about the beer.
Great food, amazing and rare craft beers.
Best beer selection around
Live Jazz band and nice cold beer.
This place is amazing!!! Beers are always excellent and the food is beyond awesome. Tyler is so knowledgeable about pairings and has stellar pairings.
Good music Good beer Good food
Chef Tyler Cullen is an amazing beer expert and does an excellent job!
If you want some great brews, stop by Norey's. Located on the locals end of Boradway, Norey's offers a relaxed but frenzy atmosphere. With the great food added in this place is a good start to the night. I even vote this place best wings of Newport!
Norey's is my favorite spot in Newport for serious craft beer. It is tucked away on Broadway Street amongst dozens of other bars and restaurants, but it stands out once you step inside. Upon entering, you are greeted by nearly impossible beers to find on draft in Rhode Island like De Dolle (yes Stille Nacht!), BFM, and OEC. I was also there for their Stout Tap Takeover when they had Black Albert Russian Imperial Stout, KBS Stout, Bourbon County, Speedway Stout, My Blueberry Nightmare, and other tasty treats. The food is also very tasty, especially the Smoked Wings and Baked Quattro Formaggi. There are other bars serving decent craft brews in Newport, but the quality doesn’t compare. I'm not sure how they get this kind of selection, but I hope they keep doing it.
I took my girlfriend to Newport for a weekend getaway to celebrate her birthday, we had a great time. We stopped into Norey's on Saturday night minutes before the kitchen closed and ordered some food and drinks. We had a wonderful meal and then stayed and hung out with the owner, Tyler and his staff and did some beer tasting, what a great night, definitely the highlight of our weekend! As for food I got the Chicken Pesto, my Girlfriend had the Pumpkin Pasta... WOW to both!!! We will most assuredly be going back whenever we are near Newport!!!
Great food and a great tap selection of hard to find beers
Not your average beer list by a long shot. Many interesting and import choices. I had O-fest beers on draft from Weihenstephan and Mahr's, both excellent. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Burger and fries were good. Food service was a bit on the slow side but it looked to be a one man operation in the kitchen. Overall, Norey's had a great comfy old bar feel. I would definitely stop by again when in Newport.
The chilli was fantastic as was the service
Best tap selection in Newport.
Great place for interesting beers and good food
Awesome
great food, open kitchen, best beer from around the world
Ran into Mz Norey on St. Patty's day and she told me about the military discount. Been a regular ever since! Expansive selection of choice brews, and Tyler the chef is FIERCE on that grill!!!
They were freaking closed!
Always an excellent meal and a superb beer selection
We have never been here when it is full, but they have always given us great service. Nice beer list and the food has been delicious every time.
Classy establishment with friendly staff, creative recipes, a lovely atmosphere and wonderful live music!
Great local spot in Newport! They have a great selection of beer and other beverages. I really enjoyed the live music they have, and it was a great place to spend time with friends and enjoy some great music and beer. I definitely recommend this spot if you're in town!
Really quite a surprise. Excellent food.
The beer selection here is a must visit for any beer lover! Go here!
Great food and service!
Very good pork chop special. Local meat, wild rice and perfectly cooked snap peas. I will go back. I wish they had a full bar and it would be all-in-one for me.
Wish they had a full bar like everywhere else in the area. Empty on a saturday night.
Place is good for small groups. Good jazz nights.
I’ve eaten here numerous times. Atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and wine. I’ll be stopping in again soon since I’m in the area at least once a week.
The food here is the best food on Broadway. Excellent craft beer selection.
Food was interesting and good. Servers (Bartenders) were an absolute treat! The Chef (Owner?) was less than appealing, doesn't seem to treat staff well and isn't the best with customers either.
I started frequenting Norey's in Newport to see the CotePercussion Jazz Quartet and have since enjoyed going back monthly as well as on several holidays. The beer is delicious and cold, the food is phenomenal, and the staff is beyond friendly and fantastic. The desserts are freshly homemade each night and I enjoy the variety each time I go! The atmosphere and decorations are also awesome - warm and eclectic without being cluttered or rowdy. I highly recommend Norey's and always look forward to the next time I can go!
