REVIEWS OF Matunuck Oyster Bar IN Rhode Island

Peter Kendall

Great food and experience. They have a very good waiting area, which is good since the wait is long to be seated, and your car is valet so you have nowhere else to go. However, as soon as you are sat (albeit very snug to other tables) the service and food is great, as well as the drink specials being very gracious. Serving size is also perfect, large enough to be filling, but small enough to be prepared with care and artistry. A definite spot to hit in Matunuck.

By Far one of. My most favorite places to dine. It's the freshest food you'll ever have. The oysters are grown right there..you can see them from the beautiful waterfront dining area. Also they also grow all there own vegetables, which is amazing. I've never had anything there that wasn't fantastic. Service is great friendly and fast. You can dress fancy or come right from the beach. Check it out you will love it!

Monday-Thursday Buck a Shuck 4-6 pm for Matunuck oysters. Delicious! Very crowded for a Monday, but got us in quick, great food and great service!

Jeffrey Gardner

Great place, people and seafood - worth the wait!

Cynthia LaRose

King Crab was HUGE, delicious had to bring half home which they packed in ice for me. Oysters were small but they were a sampler, so delicious also. Service was outstanding based on the hundreds of people waiting patiently, enjoying a glass of wine or beer knowing that soon they would be rewarded. Parking was limited but the young men working there were totally dedicated to getting each car parked as FAST as possible, literally running as fast as they could. My family was so impressed. Virginia gives a 5 Star approval!

Bill

This might be the best oyster restaurant in the world.

Peggy Brown

Such a great restaurant! I had the salmon and it was perfectly prepared! My appetizer shrimp were huge and delicious! Great atmosphere. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. I also liked the way they handle wait time. You can see how many parties are still in front of you. And the waiting area is huge with plenty of seating. Easy to get drinks while you wait.

Bobby Butcher

Very busy when we visited but we had a chance to grab some drinks at the bar while we waited. Food was amazing and service was good and fast in contrast to how busy it was. Perfect summer location dinner

Alice-Lynne

Absolutely fresh from the bay to you dining. Several varieties of native oysters, steamed little neck clams, as well as other non-ocean offerings. Expect to wait but it is SO worth it!

Kate Smith

Excellent food! Great location.

Vicki Hood

Was excellent bartender ..blackened tuna was great too

Marvy Uchida

The best seafood restaurant in RI. Awesome setting with enclosed patio overlooking the salt ponds. Food is fabulous, unpretentious, and reasonably priced. The owner is always out there, bussing tables, seating folks, and generally checking on how folks are doing.

Melissa Alexander

Love this restaurant! We live an hour away and stumbled upon it after a beach day in Narragansett last Oct '18. We've been back 4 times since! Excellent quality food and great service. We've enjoyed every meal. Even the desserts are delicious! So glad to have discovered this restaurant...If only we lived closer...sigh....

Ravi Banerjee

Excellent local shellfish & seafood. Outstanding local clams and oysters, raw & cooked. Fresh seafood, good drinks, good service. Nice outdoor bar in season and great sunsets. Reasonable prices. Always busy, be prepared to wait...

jonathan wright

If you are willing to wait over an HOUR and a half to get a table, you are more patient then me. I have waited less in my entire trip at Disney World then I did tonight. That said, if you do wait, it is a fantastic restaurant. The location is perfect, sitting at the edge of a little cove, where the restaurant grows their own fresh oysters in abundance. The outside patio was beautiful with plenty of space and overlooks the cove and marsh. A retractable roof is a nice option when the patio gets a little windy or if it rains. On to the food, the appetizers were excellent. It is safe to say, I have never seen cocktail shrimp that huge in my life, over 3-4 inches long and meaty. A meal in itself. My family is big into Appetizers vs Desserts so we had 5. The Clams Casino and Stuffed Quahogs were very tasty and filling. The steamers were excellent, sweet and salty and served with drawn butter. Their New England Clam Chowder was very good and had a unique taste to it provided by small chopped pieces of celery. Regarding the entrees, of the 7 people in my party, everyone was very satisfied with their meals; Salmon, Blackened Tuna, Jumbalya (2), Broiled Lobster, and Pan Seared Scallops. My meal, however, was the talk of the table. Reason being, I was served the largest , thickest Alaskan King Crab Legs I've ever seen!!!! Everyone wanted to try it and was highly impressed. Each leg yielded a huge amount of pristine delicious crab meat. This meal was so filling I had to take half home. I and everyone at my table had never seen such monstrous crab legs.. EVER. On the pricey side but totally worth it. Highly recommended. Overall the food, atmosphere, and setting/location was fantastic and very memorable. I will, however, not attempt to get a table for 7 on a weekend between 5-8 pm... Ever again. Go with two or three people, and enjoy the full menu at the surrounding table and save yourself an hour.

Lively and fun, the Matunuck Oyster Bar offers expert service and seafood done to perfection. The seaweed salad with sea urchin is crunchy goodness and the beet salad is oh so fine with seared scallops! Have lobster or shrimp, but don't leave without trying the peanut butter cheese cake! They have a stellar wine list, too.

Morgan Bizeau

Pricey, but absolutely delicious. I tried king crab legs, I tried the ahi tuna steaks or whatever, I tried the stuffed lobster. It was all so good. The cocktails were also amazing.

Janice Ruszczyk

Oyster were amazing as well as the New England Clam Chowder. So delicious

Fortnite Player04791

Great oysters and lots of fresh seafood. Best chowder and tuna I’ve ever had.

Kasey Pipes

Our server Makayla was fun and chose the perfect wine pairing to go with the food which was excellent. Best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back! The oysters, cocktails, pesto swordfish special (with perfectly paired and prepared sides- loved the unique crispy yet smashed red bliss potatoes). Can’t say enough positive things. Also great jams by Phish and the Dead! My new favorite date spot!!

Ed Osediacz

If I could give 10 stars I would that's how good they are.

Joe LeClair

Great food and service! Best mid-day during the week because it's BUSY nights and weekends. Valet parking. Inside and outside seating.

MG U

Good vibe. Great food. Wonderful service!

Dr. Barbara Mullen

Best oysters ever! The grilled trio was my favorite! I had a warmed lobster roll. So delicious! Simple and savory. I topped it with a glass of Rose'. I will be back!

Peter Mitchell

The oysters are kind of small but very tasty. Overall a great meal with good service.

Craig Kleman

Sat outside at the bar. Had a half dozen oysters, a couple of beers and the fish and chips. It is a bit pricey. Place was packed for a late lunch. Bartenders were personable.

Edgar Chavarriaga

The food is always fantastic fresh and well prepared! The drinks are proper and delicious with a very courteous and attentive staff. Matunuck Oyster Bar never disappoints and is why when ever your in RI it is a required stop.

Jeff Glidden

The absolutely best restaurant in RI.. never disappoints

Ashley Keenan

Always worth the wait! Great drinks and amazing food. Dockside parking available if you call ahead and can fit under the bridge!

Chelsey O'Brien

Always great beer on tap and amazing and fresh oysters. Their hot menu is also fantastic! Out door bar is fun but can be busy on nice nights!

Ronald Dery

Food is amazing! Super busy place. If you get there after 5, be prepared for a wait. We got there at 430 and got to sit with no wait. All the food coming out looked delicious. A must for seafood lovers!

hamish ewart-smith

This is it. People doing the best they can with the best available. Well done! Top Notch.

Elizabeth Biechler

Nice place. Decent menu. Valet parking was unexpected. Had the salad with Tuna. Would not get again just because the "salad" part was mostly cut up celery but the tuna was good. GREAT warm rolls!

John Rebello

Always a great place for some of the freshest seafood in RI. They have their own oyster farm and the oysters are excellent!! Great water view and location. Sometimes the wait can seem lengthy during busy summer season but they have a large outdoor bar and seating area with great service and before you know it your table ready

Sharon Reniere

Great day to enjoy fresh, native seafood in a beautiful location. Food was delicious

Kate Donnelly

The food and service were excellent and I would definitely go here again. Unfortunately if you come at the wrong time during the summer the wait can be as long as two hours, we went mid afternoon for a super late lunch and had no wait at all. Definitely worth the odd eating schedule though. Dont miss out on the Oysters, some of the best I've ever had. And don't worry vegetarians, there are some delicious options (I recommend the ravioli).

D C

We went last night. Waited for one hour and 15. No problem with that because they told us. Everything was good but the oysters were tiny and they should not have been served. The smallest oysters I've ever had. What's the deal with that, oysters are their middle name.

Paula Dancause

Was in Georgia when a post came in from MOB. Fiddlehead salad! Grew up with this as a kid! Much better as an adult... Drove from the airport straight to MOB! Best way to end a vacation!

Richard Rylander

Just a wonderful restaurant. Nothing but the freshest ingredients, expertly done!

carol gauvin

Love the Matunuck grown Oysters. Like they say great things come in small packages. You font judge an oyster by it's size you judge it by it's taste freshness and overall quality. We have been here on many occasions and have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. As with any quality Restaurant there is usually a wait time to be seated. Bit it is well worth the wait.

Siobhan Powers

We dined here last Friday and it was one of the best meals we've ever had! The oyster stew is an absolute must try! The service is also excellent, especially our server Charlotte who was perfect in every aspect--she was warm and kind, paced out our meal perfectly and totally knew her stuff when discussing the oysters with us. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Zark Mellers

Best and most fun restaurant in Rhode Island sustainable farm and aquaculture. See the owner’s Ted talk. Perfect food and service every time.

ana zilli

Is always the best place to eat the BEST food.Great services. Clean and organized. Thanks

Eileen Baker

Always fresh, always delicious. We had a dozen oysters and they were fabulous, shocked perfectly (no pieces of shell!). Had the lobster roll - not diced pieces of lobster but whole claw meat tossed lightly with mayo packed into the roll. Best fries, salted perfectly.

peter dale

Great oysters excellent IPA charming bartender!

Benjamin Chapman

One of the best meals I've had recently. Highly recommended. RI clam chowder was superb, the oysters world-class, and the scallops were sweet yet savory. Worth the wait.

Robert Beiter

It's the best. Go once and you will be hooked. The food is great and so are the staff.

Jeff Robinson

Quick valet parking. Fast polite service. Tasty oysters. Good drinks. Local sourced food where availble.

Elizabeth Striegl

Awesome local seafood right on the water. Gorgeous location and great food

Laurie Arshonsky

Delicious lobster roll and salad. The staff is friendly and professional! Go when it open to obtain a good table! It fills up quickly and they don’t take reservations.

Nicholas Mynuk

...one word...HOLY SEAFOOD KALE SALAD! Theres nothing like grilled tentacles in the morning! Cailin rocked the service and the house lemonade made the girls happy! THANK YOU MOH!

jacquiwolf

Seafood is the star! This is a difficult to get into restaurant. They no longer accept reservations, just 1st come 1st served. We were told this is a must visit when visiting, passing through or just craving fresh seafood. We began with a selection of 3 different local oysters and then ordered a dozen of our favorites. All were fresh and delicious but we preferred the Brinier Sunkissed oysters. I ordered the steamers which were as good as I recall from my LI childhood but not as plentiful. Lastly I selected tuna tartare taco's which, as I'd hoped, gave me the opportunity to sample their farm to table philosophy of fresh herbs and produce to perfectly accent the locally procured fish. Our friends had lobster rolls which looked perfectly stuffed with lots of lobster. I can say that the french fries served with the lobster rolls were deliciously crisp, salted and fresh, not frozen. Don't go or we may not be able to get back in! We went at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed!

Cheryl Vintaloro

Very organized. Food was great. Service was great

mookkkoo

Absolutely fresh, delicious, mouth watering oysters are offered here creating lines out the door pretty much everyday. The clam chowder was so creamy and freshly prepped I think about it even after a few weeks. The scallop ceviche will melt in your mouth... I’m definitely going back.

kathleen oller

The best lobster roll my entire New England stay. Going back for another as a matter of fact, an hour drive out of my way!

Kathy S

Excellent water front restaurant. There is an outdoor bar area and indoor and outdoor eating areas. They do not take reservations. We went around two o'clock right after the lunch crowd and before the dinner surge. There is a plethora of cheery and polished servers. I had the fried oysters.... fresh from the restaurant owned oyster farm. The were divine. We were also served bread with a basil dipping sauce. All in all a wonderful while experience.

Melissa Devine

One of the best restaurants in Rhode Island. The oyster farm is out back in the salt pond so you won't get fresher oysters than these. Excellent selection of raw seafood, and perfectly cooked mussels and other fish dishes. All greens are locally sourced through their farm nearby so everything is top notch. Perry Raso, is a local graduate of the University's aquaculture school so he a lot of expertise in the farming of oysters, and has done an amazing job with the creation of Matunuck Oyster Bar. Tough to get a seat most of the time, because locals and tourists alike are onto just how great this place really is. Located right on the salt pond, outdoor seating gives you a nice view of the pond. Valet service is needed here because of a very busy, and limited size parking lot. Really enjoyable dining experience. You'll remember Matunuck oysters and will see them on menus throughout the United States.....they're just that good. Nice salinity, but sweet too. Rhode Island has the perfect minerals and salt marshes to make the best oysters!

Karen Dwyer

This place rocks!!! Both food and service were amazing. There's usually a short wait, but it's well worth it. I mean there's a reason the place is so popular. Beautiful setting!

Antonio Posada

I ate the Lobster Roll sandwich... chilled lobster meat, lightly dressed with mayonnaise & chopped celery on a grilled buttery split top roll, also the Rhode Island Cup of soup, and Beet & Goat cheese salad, plus 3 oysters. Everything was just delicious. Great server. She was very helpful and cheerful. Every time I come to the area I stop by and eat something new. They never disappoint.

Sandra York

A notable exception to the usual rule that a place with a view won't have great food. Fantastic seafood in a lovely setting!

Ken Oliver

Great place for local seafood. Good service and excellent oysters and lobster. The weather was perfect so managed to get a seat outside with a nice view of the water.

Perry Robbin

Excellent variety of incredibly fresh seafood, including raw bar, baked and fried dishes. The overall environment of the restaurant is truly impressive - seeing the same pond where the seafood comes from through the window while eating is amazing.

Steve Weathers

The food was great but the seats were pushed way too close together. For the money they charge they should care about the customer's Comfort level. Waitresses had a hard time maneuvering around the tables they were so close. Even though the food was good it will be a one-time visit

Joan Faria

Food, service excellent. Only comment I have is enclosed patio was close quarters and loud.

Joanne Goode

Great service. Oysters to entrees are all delicious! Love the view and the staff! It is worth the wait!

Brenda Bowman

Wonderful portions & great food server was pleasant & did not rush us through dinner. Photo of lightly battered clams with bellies. Couldn't eat it all. Would go again.

J O'Brien

Outstanding service. Well loved among the locals and and tourists. Oysters are fresh, young and grown nearby

Jason Michael

We love it here, great food and atmosphere, plan to wait on a weekend in season though. We come early and sit at the outside bar and have a drink while we wait. The salmon is awesome!

Cori-Lynn S. Webber

My favorite in the area. I go there every year for my birthday. Other times too in the summer. Food is excellent. Service great, and this year was every bit as good. In the summer the wait is excessive, off season its fabulous.

Shantia Fry

My daughter has worked here as a server for 4 years! Amazing food and people!! Perry is great! I always knew in high school he would end up doing something amazing in life!! If you have not treated yourself to Matunuck Oyster Bar, please do. You won’t be disappointed!

Dan Davis

Beautiful day to be eating outside on the covered patio. Food and service was excellent! The wait staff really did a great job, place was packed and they were hustling. As busy as it was, our food arrived hot and normal wait time. Our family stopped for lunch, everyone enjoyed their meal. Our first time eating there, will stop by if we're ever in the area again.

Marianela Benutto

Loved the atmosphere and the food was GREAT!

Alexis Thompson

Went for dinner on Saturday evening. Quickly seated. Waitress was amazing. Great food. Recommend the oyster sampler and calamari.

Lynn Schwartz

The restaurant has a bunch of different places to sit, so each has its own vibe. We sat upstairs which is completely enclosed and has great water views. The have an outdoor bar area which would have been my first choice had the weather been a bit warmer but loved the upstairs too. Food was fresh and delicious- ! Wonderful fresh oysters right from the bay They valet park only! Pricing was very reasonable .

Alison Duva

Farm to table at it's finest! So worth the wait to get in.

Loc Dao

Good and fresh oysters. Nice setting

Chuck Sacrison

We were visiting friends in Charlestown from our home in the Seattle suburbs when they took us to the Matunuck Oyster Bar for dinner. Absolutely wonderful food and outstanding wait staff. Swordfish special was excellent as were the oysters. We can heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal and a pleasant time.

Pete Darnell

Tasty food, good drinks, best oysters outside row 34

Erik Josephson

It seemed like the hostess had no idea what was going on. We had a reservation 4 weeks in advance and they still didn't have a table ready when we got there. When they finally sat us they said we were called multiple times even though we were standing right next to the hostess booth. My calamari was very bland, though the lobster roll was pretty good. There is also no parking so you have to use a valet service to even park. Overall I much rather go somewhere else then deal with the hassle here.

Luc Decker

I drive 30 minutes out of my way to make it here every time I’m in Rhode Island. It’s just a great spot for really delicious seafood in a nice setting.

Rachel Courtemanche

Awesome is all.I ha e to say abiut Matunuck Oyater Bar.

Jason Showell

Awesome local oyster farm, with full tour. Amazing local food.

Karen Davis

Had a lobster roll at Matunic Oyster Bar and the very next Da Five people were hit by a car in the parking lot

Nick

Food is top notch, go on a beautiful summer day. Doesnt get mutch better!

Lorna Huestis

Very good service!! Valet service spot on!! Only one thing for owners some dishes you need bread crostini bread would go great with pasta dinners as my husband clam pasta he said he wish he had bread to dip in broth..

Damian Kasprzyk

A top notch seafood eatery. Great service, fresh and well prepared seafood and good prices.

Michael Uttley

Awesome food, awesome service, awesome atmosphere, free valet parking.

Cathi Gulliksen

Delicious meals and awesome staff. Great cruise ride to their oyster farm to see how they grow and harvest them from ocean to table.

Anthony Loffredo

Hands down the best seafood I have ever had. I strongly suggest the Matunuk oysters and a stuffy as starters. Stuffed lobster is incredible with big pieces of shrimp and scallops inside! Everything is fresh and the staff is great.

Robert Chambers

Food was decent and served hot. Service was good. A little pricy but it's a tourist hotspot. Mandatory Valet parking (not a huge fan of that) but they have limited parking.

Terri Thorp

The setting is wonderful so open n Airy ! Service is always the Best our server Paul not to be forgotten.... so caring n accommodating to the max throughout our experience with a strong food background a complete joy to talk to. Remember not to be missed.

stephen spranzo

Food was outstanding, excellent raw bar options and quick service despite the fact that it is always so busy there.

KAREN LESLIE BARRY

Food was awesome! The staff is very personable and helpful with menu items.

Nicholas Barboutis

The seafood was fresh and very delicious. Awesome and friendly staff. Great view from the deck also.

Stephanie Walsh

Always delightful and the staff is always on-point. From the valet, to the host, to the bar tenders and servers, everyone takes their job seriously to deliver a great experience. It is also refreshing to see people dressed for a nice evening out sitting next to those on vacation just coming from the beach. All seem welcome and everything is delicious. Just beware of the wait on busy evenings, and plan to enjoy a drink at the bar before you are seated.

Joseph Pryor

Extremely well run with Valet service and friendly staff. I had the clams and linguini. Someone else had the clams and chorizo which was even more outstanding. Bought fresh steamers to go which they packed in ice.

Shelby Krause

Have been here numerous times. Every time I come I am even more impressed. Amazing food and drinks. They harvest the oysters themselves and if you come at the right time you can witness it yourself! Valet parking is very convenient, car is always ready to go when I walk out to leave.

Jeff Leveille

Great atmosphere being right on the water. A little pricey, but the seafood is fresh and tasty.

lisa lewis

Lobster roll and fries were amazing, right on the water, great service! A new favorite! Highly reccomend

Victor Sardelli

Great food. No more expensive than anywhere else. Nice venue by the water. Great service.

Paul Pezza

Always a great experience here and you can tell that’s consistent based on the crowds frequenting this place. The food is amazing and locally sourced and the service is excellent. I enjoy the patio seating overlooking the salt pond.

Peter Travers

My go to restaurant for shellfish. The restaurant is right on the water with active tides. I've been told that the owner has oyster beds and mussel beds that he uses for the restaurant. Seafood and shellfish is top shelf here but the wait on a busy night can be daunting yet I've never seen anyone leave before their table was ready so that speaks highly of the restaurant.

clark vocke

Top shelf, soup to nuts. You can go in there and wolf down some clam strips, or you can ball out and course of a fantastic dining experience. Food is incredible and the service matches the food. 10/10 would recommend

marian gordon

Consistently good. Fresh, good service, valet parking, good view.

Michelle Denault

If you are in South County, stop by Matunuck Oyster Bar! Sit overlooking the salt pond, knowing that your oysters were in the water recently. Great food, great ambiance! Fresh fresh fresh!

Carolyn K

Outstanding food, service, and ambiance! The efficiency of the bar staff on a busy weekend evening was very impressive. Such a pleasant and delicious way to spend a summer night. Can’t wait to come back soon!

James Ryan

Best place I have ever been in my entire life ever

Clarence Button

TUESDAY EVENING. One and a half hour wait in the outdoor bar. Clients around us were rapidly getting inebriated and bumping into us. We were ignored for 15 minutes after being notified our table was ready. The dining room was incredibly noisy....I MEAN A ROAR.....probably a function of the amount of alcohol served in the bar, prior to being seated. Good quality ranged from mediocre for my guests to my swordfish which was quite good . I might go back....but not in Summer.

Reid Burch

I knew we were in for a long wait when I drove up and saw a police officer directing traffic coming in and out of the parking lot. We ended up waiting for about 45 minutes, which was crazy for a Monday evening. Food was really good, I had the Stuffies as an appetizer and the Lobster Roll for my entree. I would recommend both of these. Others at my table had the fish tacos, Calamari, Mussels, and oysters and they said everything was really good.

Gretchen Wilson

We shared a dozen oysters in half shell to start, we had them bring the tray with the 3 sizes of oysters. They were wonderful. Tried a cup of clear chowder, we shared this and everyone liked it. We had 2 different seafood entrees and one pasta. We shared all of the food we ordered, the food was excellent seafood tasted like it was just caught. This was a wonderful experience, great food, great service will definitely go back.

Ellen Pearce

Fantastic views on the deck! Excellent food especially for seafood lovers. However, it has a limited menu if you don't care for seafood. Excellent drinks! But expect to wait for a table; it's always crowded.

Grace Hait

Not impressed with the service here at all, hence the 3 stars. Food is good (not ridiculously expensive for the area) and drinks are well poured. My advice is to make a reservation in advance.

Kathryn Coles

Doesn't get any better!! Amazing oysters, fresh seafood, great service and perfect location... We will be back again very soon!

Paul Coles

One of the best meals I have ever ate. Make a reservation it's worth it. Staff where excellent. Restaurant was spacious but very busy. They farm there own oysters and grow vegetables. Plenty of parking and if that's full they have valet service. Huge menu great atmosphere. I would have to say you get what you pay for, great location, staff, FOOD.

Todd Jackson

Excellent seafood! A must go if you're in the area and have expendable income.

Amy Delmonte

What a view! Our waitress was awesome...the food phenomenal! Perfect portions!

Annmarie Noll

Excellent find! We went for lunch this past weekend and WOW!!! Excellent food, stellar service, pretty surroundings and beautiful views! The lobster roll was excellent as were the local oysters. My son had the clam chowder which was deliciously cream with loads of crab! We also tried the sesame tuna over salad that was excellent. The tuna was cooked perfectly and the salad was delicious with their homemade dressing. Overall, excellent outing!

Connor Devine

Amazing food, and amazing staff!! Highly recommend the Blackened Yellow Fin Tuna, medium rare! I would've had a picture of the dessert but it went too fast! Thanks for the suggestions Lucia!

Ashish Kumar

Good food, Good location. But it was very crowded, staff looked overworked, service was very slow. First waited 20 minutes to get seated, then waited another 20 minutes for the check after finishing up. This hampered the overall dining experience.

Sue Breen

Fabulous food, outdoor seating with great views and service was incredible!

Jonathon Bock

Great atmosphere. Good food. Attentive staff. Great place.

PC Gam

If you like true farm to table, this is it. They raise their own oysters and have their own vegetable farm. The preparations highlight the quality and freshness of the food. Get the Matunuck vegetables. Sit back, relax, and allow your meal to take awhile. 2 hours for a table of 4. If you want to hurry, do all of us a favor and go somewhere else. If you want to sit on the patio while the salt pond runs in or out with the tide, to enjoy leisurely, and savor your food, Matunuck is your spot. Try the drinks muddled with their own fresh herbs.

Janet Whitley

Fresh oysters. Promo friendly service.

Paul Schwartz

First time ! After a nice day at the beach we went for dinner, We waited and had appetizers and the calamari and mussels in a butter sauce were wonderful. The young lady who waited on us was equally as wonderful. Honestly I expected a tourist trap but found that it is a quality restaurant that charges fair prices and the waitresses are well trained and do a great job. Needless to say when we sat our main course was excellent and the night was perfect. We will make this a must go to restaurant.

Sarah Kenoian

I called at 8:00 and asked if they were doing takeout and they told me they were doing full menu. I requested to call back to confirm an order before placing and the hostess laughed at me and hung up the phone. I called back multiple times after waiting to get an answer and after 5 minutes of repeat calls I finally reached a person who stated they were no longer offering full menu takeout. I inquired what changed and they again, laughed, and told me that they were on an hour and a half wait and that’s what changed. It’s shocking that in five minutes that would change and the hostess would be that rude. Disprespeful service will never be tolerated. Zero stars would be preferred

Cherie Hersperger

We have been there several times, both day and night, and have consistently enjoyed every meal. Not only has the view and the environment of the restaurant been beautiful and inviting but the staff have always been knowledgeable about the menu, fun personalities and never have rushed us through our evening! Thank you for a wonderful dinning experience.

Wayne Church

Very expensive small Matunuck oysters. Matunuck oysters had no "cup". Local Oysters from salt pond and Watch hill were decent but expensive. People expect to get a deal when going to an oyster bar not pay more than double retail at a mid level restaurant Fried whole belly clams were good. Calamari was outstanding. They must have a lock with hardly any restaurants close by

VGofRI

You can always count on great food. Great service. Fun times in the summer on the open patio. A must try.

Josiah Strandberg

Good food and great atmosphere. Good service. I t was crowded on a Saturday afternoon; the wait was 30 minutes.

David Crawford

Excellent food, efficient service and great feel. Highly recommend.

Thom Masse

What can you say? Great service, food, scenery and Devon P is very happy to serve with a smile and to assist with an unforseen incident. Thanks Devon!!! God bless you.

Diane Armstrong

This restaurant is highly overrated. For the prices, there are many other restaurants that have better seafood, namely Champlins, Aunt Carries and others. My friend and I went there for Buck a shuck. What you don't find out until you order is that the only oyster you can get for $1.00 is the Matunuck oyster which is the size of a nickel. The strawberry shortcake, which was on special, $9 was very small with about 6-7 strawberry halves. The only positive is the deck seating with a view of the salt pond.

Kaleb Singleton

The best food and atmosphere ever!! Favorite restaurant and it's not even close.

jo ann lewis

Wonderful fresh delicious farm to table restaurant where they even grow their own oysters! Have eaten here four times With various groups and have always been happy with the food and the wine choices. Service is inconsistent. They don’t take reservations. They have valet parking, which makes the crowds and lines easier to deal with. Tonight for the first time it was noisy. We sat down around 7:30PM and we guessed people who came in late had too much time at the bar while waiting for a table. So. Much. Noise. If you’re older, like us, go earlier than you think you should. With the normal crowds you’ll eat at a reasonable hour, before the young drinking crowd comes. We’ve had lobster, scallops, various types of squash, mashed potatoes, raw oysters, fried oysters, fried clams, and roasted beet and goat cheese salad. Our extended Rhode Island family go more often - they agree it’s worth the wait and the drive.

Fresh, as seafood should be. Wonderful staff!

Food prepared carefully, presented artistically. Truly enjoyed our Dinner at this Outpost in Point Judith. I had the Salmon, skillfully prepared, cooked just perfectly. Sticky rice was delicious with the peapods. My dining partner had the scallops, full of praise for them. Free birthday desert for your birthday. Definitely a broad menu. Featuring the farm raised oysters that the restaurant farms. Will try them next time!

Martina Niebrzydowski

The food was absolutely amazing!!! Best seafood I’ve had in awhile... calamari was one of the best that I’ve had in awhile. The lobster and scallops were perfect!!! Would definitely go back when we’re in the area. It gets very busy there though.

Michael Jerz

Serves the freshest seafood ... Harvest and serve their own oysters ... Absolutely delicious !!!

Ashley Scalise

Fantastic seafood selection. Loved the free oyster with a Narragansett Fresh Catch!

Stopped by here for lunch while on a road trip. We were seated quickly and given a choice as to where we wanted to sit. Food was very good if just a bit pricey. My chowder was excellent. Dessert was superb. My only complaint is that our water glasses were not refilled once the entire time we were there. Service could have been a bit more attentive especially given the fact that the restaurant wasn't even busy when we were there.

Patricia

Wait staff (Patrick) was beyond superlative! First time ever there was no wait. Probably because it was 3:00 in the afternoon. Salmon with sticky rice was a bit spicy which I truly enjoyed. However, not for someone who doesn't like a bit of heat. If you have never been, you should take the time to visit this summer.

The best oysters I've ever had! Get the sampler. Everything was fresh. Sat outside with a great breeze overlooking the water. Good service, great atmosphere, and awesome food...what more could you ask for?

Daniel Coburn

Great place on the water. Covered patio seating. Indoor seating on 2 floors. Inside and outside bars. Harvest their own oysters in addition to other local oysters. Great service. Entrees around $25. Food was fantastic. Blackened seared tuna was soo good. Oysters very good. Expect long waits in season.
