Best tasting Indian food! I think the Chef is the most talented Indian Chef in whole of MA and RI. I am addicted to his Ambur Chicken Biriyani! Not big on ambience yet homely and comfortable. Bit pricier than usual. It will be worth if you have shiny taste buds.

Absolutely fantastic food cooked by son and mom combo. This is the most authentic South Indian food (especially Tamil Nadu) I have ever had and that includes restaurants in Tamil Nadu like the once iconic Saravana Bhavan in Chennai. This is no understatement. Even restaurants there do not serve authentic fresh Aracha Sambar which is only cooked and served in homes. Restaurants always use premade powders. Jaya's kitchen serves 100% authentic fresh aracha sambar which tastes like my mom just made it. I have tried all three varieties of parotas with all three of the salnas and each and every one of them has been exquisite. When we ask the chef to serve us oil free dosa (regular or onion rava), he has done that without question and that is remarkable as many will not and will insist on using a little oil to avoid the dosa from sticking to the pan (which is untrue anyway). Last but not the least, the authentic thalapakatti mutton biriyani. Words cannot describe how amazing this is. It has to be experienced as the chef uses seeraga samba rice and not the run of the mill basmati rice that every other place uses. The service is warm and the hospitality is akin to being invited to lunch/dinner by a family. All in all impecabble place and hope it flourishes.

A nice place to have authentic food. All items that I tried was good. You get many items that you don't get in other Indian restaurants near. A great place for Rhode islanders. Do support this business to grow and come up with more.

Man if you happen to be Sri Lankan and your passing by here, you have to try the Mutton Biryani (the Tamil Nadu style version). It is so god damn good. Also get a goat vindaloo on the side to smother on top of the Biryani. Who would have thought in this random town there is such amazing south indian food. 10/10. The best Biryani I've tried in all of North America.

Justin Kahn

Really amazing food. Four more typically “North Indian” non-veg entrees, but the rest of the menu is indeed more “South Indian” (more specifically, Tamil / Sri Lankan food). The execution is sublime. Lime soda also available. 5 stars

I have been twice now and have been DELIGHTED both times. The food is CLEAN, spectacular in taste and plentiful. I am moved to write a review to drive traffic to the restaurant and make more food lovers happy for having the experience. BRAVO!

I will not recommend this place. More experience but not quality food. Ordered chicken 65 and veechu parata. Chicken is very old and veechu parata is like chapathi

There right now!! My 3rd time here and I must say it is better than any of the Indian restaurants in Providence!!!! I love the food, service is awesome, can’t say enough good things about it !!!!

Manoj Kumar

Parotta is a must try along with mutton chukka. The veg korma and idiyappam combo was top notch. The chettinad authentic mutton biryani here is one among the good ones in the whole US. The meat was tender, juicier and cooked perfectly. Found the place where I could order frequently and never get bored of the taste.

First time visiting this newly opened restaurant in Providence. I was completely surprised by the quality, quantity and the taste of the food that was being served. I would highly recommend this place for some really authentic Indian food.

Amazing flavors and lots of options! This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Rhode Island. The staff is friendly and helpful. The server was very knowledgeable and pointed out which foods are gluten free for the relevant member in our party (a large portion of the menu as it turns out).

Aruna P

I absolutely love this restaurant. All of the food we ordered was very good, service was friendly and professional. I don’t have anything bad to say, what you order is what you get. Overall it’s the best restaurant for those who miss their home food.

Went there after seeing the south indian items on their menu. Had medhu vada, chicken ghee roast, thalapakatti & ambur biriyani. The spice level and seasoning was spot on. Finger licking delicious and good sized portions. Over a weeks stay at providence, me and my sister tried 2 other indian restaurants - wish we had tried Jaya's kitchen sooner.

Mano vuddandi

Bad experience with goat biriyani, no goat piece in it. When I called them they are blaming Mexican in kitchen. As a owner Jaya should be handling all this training along with Chef. Running restaurant to cheat people and getting money is the motive of Jaya’s Kitchen. Food is way expensive when compared. Respect money automatically you will get it back Jaya’s kitchen.

Ashish Gupta

Food is good. Its real spicy here. Even Medium is spicy. Basil seed drink was too sugary with no flavor whatsoever.

Southern Indian cuisine - more vegetarian oriented. Good but a little pricy for its location.

Authentic tasting south Indian home cooked food. Original taste, neat and clean ambience, efficient and friendly host Jaya. We'll never miss a chance to visit again in Providence.

Do not order delivery through seemless! The food was cold, this was the second time the same driver got lost going to same place which added another 10-15 min to promised delivery time.. Also, the food was better when I picked it up and called it in myself- great the first time. I will say cheap on the rice, both times I ordered a side order in addition to.. never received. Asked for spicy vindaloo like last time.. was flavorless and not spicy. The samosas are great here (hard to judge tonight because everything was cold thanks to seemless driver). Disappointing when you drop $60 on delivery..

Amazing food and very hospitable hosts. Authentic south Indian food. This is my go to place for a home cooked meal.

Harish Sravani

Incredible south Indian food. The best south Indian restaurant I have ever been to in the New England area. Great service and absolute homemade food. Keep up the great work!

MohanRaj Somasundaram

Food was really good. We tried Parotta kurma and paneer tikka. Good food and good service.

Ranjeeta B

The food was very nice. We tried all vegetarian dishes. And I must compliment them as apart from this place, wherever else I tried pooris it was drenched in oil but here it was skillfully fried with not a single drop extra. The food came in sufficient quantity and people were very courteous.

Ramaa Srinivasan

LOVEEEEEE THE FOOD. Amazing hospitality. Right waiting time. AUTHENTIC. Ambur mutton biriyani, mutton sukka and chicken 65 are our favorites. Must try. There was nothing we didn’t like. When we said we wanted to adjust the spiciness to MILD, they respected that and made the food as we wanted. Not many restaurants “REALLY” do that, even though they ask us before making the dishes. Our go-to restaurant, any day!!! Bigggg THUMBS-UP!!

Fantastic place to experience a taste of India. Recommend that you try the chicken 65 appetizer and Hyderabadi briyani. My go-to, chicken Tikka masala is excellent...as well as the kadai chicken. Great meal!

Small place and overall the food is good and tasty. Mutton salna - probably the bad among all. Too much coconut and salty. Rest everything were actually good. Especially the parota was soft and fresh. Just don’t order the mutton salna. Talapakati goat Briyani was also very god. Overall we liked and good place to take out and very casual. also don’t forget to try the Nannari sarbath and it was amazing.

As an Indian, I could not be more grateful to have THE FIRST GOOD INDIAN RESTAURANT in Providence!!! The food is fresher and more delicious by a huge margin than all the places on the East Side (which, by the way, are a travesty: no restaurant that serves the kind of food that Rasoi or India or Not Just Snacks serve would survive a month in India). Jaya's Kitchen is actual, good, Indian food. Go try it out. Be patient: they are cooking things from scratch, which takes time and care. And be generous: these guys are giving us much better food than places that charge the same amount or more. Smaller portions of well-made food are much better than huge portions of swill that have been festering in the fridge or cooked without care. And to the management: please, please keep cooking the food you're cooking! We need you here!!!

Absolutely delicious, authentic,.affordable, and kid friendly Indian food. We got the medu vada, chicken malabar, goat vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and the paratha- all huge portions (we have enough for another dinner). They also had a very good looking kids menu, AND they deliver. We will be back!
