If I went fully vegetarian/vegan I could see myself eating here everyday. Then again, I could see myself eating here everyday and feel like I'm not missing anything in my diet. Delicious options and plenty of vegan choices. It can be busy at peak hours but it's worth the wait. You can also get a complimentary coffee next door while you wait for a table.

Not a great experience, and I probably won't go back. I was super excited because I am a long-time vegetarian, and there are so few places around me. When I finally got a chance to go to Garden Grille, I was first shocked by the prices. A meal to go and a smoothie cost me close to $16.00! I ordered vegan mac and cheese, and I didn't open it until I got home, but I thought it felt a little light. For the price, I got about a cup of food. That seems a little crazy to me. And it wasn't even good. It had little flavor, it was grainy, and the broccoli wasn't even cooked. The smoothie was good, but not worth the price. Disappointing!

I love this restaurant, I hate the location. I wish they would move to a bigger place. I dislike Pawtucket, I'm sorry for being so blunt, but it would be awesome if they would move this place to a different town. Anyway...... Food is always awesome, people here are great. I think this was the first Vegetarian restaurant I had gone to. Many, many, years later I still love the place. Food and drinks are excellent. It's usually pretty busy and there isn't much seating. I haven't been in a bit, but from what I understand now you get free coffee at the vegan bakery next door if you have to wait for a table. That's cool.

We visited for the first time on a Friday night around 7:30 and were told there was a 30 minute wait for 2. We headed over to the Wild Flower, owned by the same people and were offered free coffee but got juice and a pasty instead. It felt like less than a 30 minute wait but I didn't actually time it. Once seated, food took longer than I would have liked to come out (I was starving before we even left home to go there) but it wasn't longer than I'd wait anywhere else. I got the butternut squash quesadilla and my husband got the saitan rueben minus the cheese. He was amazed at how "real" it tasted, meaning like an actual rueben. We both had enough food to take home left overs (love that). Our waitress and bartender were both super nice, friendly, down to earth. We were offered and accepted dessert on the house, Pumpkin Cheesecake. I'm eating it now and it's creamy but much lighter than typical cheesecake. I dig it. Last thing I can think of to comment on is the atmosphere. It was cute, cozy, had cool lighting decorations, but poor barstools... not very sturdy and not much room for my legs under the bar. What else is there to say? We plan on going back for sure and glad to have found a place that's been around for 30+ years and off our radar all the while.

Epic portions, so many killer choices. Love their vegan/gluten-free mac n cheese and the stir fry bowl, but the winners of my heart are... the CAULIFLOWER-HERB RISOTTO CAKES. WOW they are amazing. We went on a Friday early afternoon (11am). It was not too busy when we arrived, but quickly filled up. The place is pretty small and has a trendy kind of vibe about it. The menu doesn't overwhelm you with a ton of choices (a good thing in my opinion), but is extensive enough where just about anyone can find something they would like. We had an appetizer which was delicious and perfectly portioned for two. For lunch we each tried the tofu BLT with avocado which was also ridiculously good. Our bill came to 35 dollars and some change which we both felt was more than reasonable for the portions and quality of food. We also both felt the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive which made the experience even better. I would highly recommend giving this place a visit!

great food, experience and atmosphere! Wish I had gone long ago! Gluten free and vegan foods that I can eat! I also avoid corn and soy. This has not been a issue. Besides I just found out the cook was someone I have known for years! And I would like to add b/c of people comments about the staff.. they are all professional. Some of them do not naturally smile like Barbie and Ken, but they are wonderful, caring, happy people if you take the time to talk to them. It is ALWAYS busy there..and things get full fast. It is well worth the wait. I just hope they can expand soon to accommodate special needs people, which right now is just outside. I find they do their best and beyond.

Vegetarian Restaurants can be hit or miss...Sometimes they feel so sterile in their striving to be so pure, but Garden Grille is the exception. It's so wonderful to find this sweet little space that has so many great vegan choices. Reubans and tacos with excellent garnishes and a cute little cozy ambiance made this a delightful experience. I really enjoyed the feeling inside of this place and the service was very wonderful.

The Garden Grill is still one of the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the Providence/Pawtucket area. Their Butternut Squash Quesadillas and Lentil Tostadas are excellent. If you enjoy vegetarian and vegan entrees I highly recommend it.

I have been to this restaurant about 5 times and every time I come in, it is very crowded, I sit down and the wait staff is terrible every time I've been in there. Its not me, I am very polite and patient, because I like the vegan salad and I don't want them to tamper with it. But they treat me very cold and are so rude to me for no reason. They seem annoyed if I ask a question, and act like they are better than me just because there vegan! They rolled their eyes at my mother when she asked for a straw. After they give the food they will not look even when were calling them from across the room.

Their extensive menu and nightly specials will please both vegetarians and vegans. The portions are generous and the flavors are tantalizing. I highly recommend the seitan appetizer with the wasabi dipping sauce that provides an invigorating kick! Service was attentive and the kitchen had our food out fast.

Good food, great cocktails, unnecessary wait-time When it comes to vegan/vegetarian food, Garden Grille does a good job with a slightly more diverse menu than its counterpart, The Grange. The cocktails are as delicious and innovative including my favorite one involving whiskey with cardamom bitters. The wait, however, is simply not worth it at this place. They funnel people into their “organic”-chic coffee shop two doors down, Wildflour (which, ironically doesn’t even have recycling!) prior to seating, even when the restaurant seemed to be empty. In our case, we had to wait an hour and five minutes. The ensuing dining experience (and cost) quite simply did not warrant such a wait.

If you are ever in Providence, RI, you need to have a meal at, Garden Grille. I have NEVER had a vegan/vegetarian meal that was good as the one I had last night. Absolutely incredible and the only way that their dishes can be prepared is with......sorcery. Next door is the Wildflower Bakery (owned by the same people.). I had a vegan chocolate chip cookie that was the best chocolate chip cookie I have EVER had. "This is not possible", I thought after one bite. An incredible experience!

Very good vegetarian food and decent value. Expect a 30-40 minute wait on a Saturday night. You can take a buzzer and go to any of the nearby cafes or restaurants while you wait. I ordered the portabella and kidney bean burger, which was delicious. My friend had the squash quesadilla, which she loved. We sat at the bar, and the service was good.

I have been extremely happy almost every time I've gone. Excellent food, lots of fresh things. They do have some cheese items, but can substitute vegan cheese very easily. They have lots and lots of business, so they do sometimes turn people away. For example, they don't usually make reservations for parties of less than six people. Service is good, if occasionally slow on a busy night (what do you expect?). Friendly and super helpful. EDIT July 27, 2009: With the downturned economy, the Garden Grille is often considerably less busy, so I've sometimes risked it even on a Saturday night. Awesome food, excellent prices and services, would totally recommend it to vegan, vegetarian, or carnivore (no meat, but every carnivore I've brought has found something they like). Be sure to ask how big the plate is. Some of their appetizers and entrees are somewhat small (to me), while others are HUGE. For example, if you order a plate of nachos as an appetizer, it's practically an entire meal all by itself.

In the realm of vegetarian restaurants, Garden Grille is one of the best. Simple comfort foods and healthy choices done right. The Korean tempeh tacos are amazing (though very sweet), the BLT is served on high quality bread with a perfect balance of flavors (add avocado), and their fresh-squeezed oj always actually tastes fresh. There are gluten-free options and they have an alcohol license. There is a small amount of covered outs seating-- no view (the parking lot) but it is quieter than sitting inside. There is often a long wait for a table because it is such a popular spot.

I love this place. It is so incredibly cute in here. It's cozy but also feels modern. I love the lights above the bar. They always seem to be supporting some sort of non-profit charity, animal cause, or environmental issue (only giving plastic straws upon request, etc.) which should warm the hearts of anyone eating there. Dishes I've gotten here/stole a bite of so far: Soup of the day (vegetable), sweet potato wedges, GF vegan mac & cheese, roasted butternut squash quesadilla, pastrami seitan reuben, and the classic veggie burger. I have LOVED every single one of these. My ONLY complaint was the mac & cheese desperately needed salt. The waitstaff is always super attentive even with a constantly full dining room. And since the dining room is usually full, there is sometimes a short wait. It's never been more than 10-15 minutes for me.

My daughter took me here while I was visiting her in Providence. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I love eating at vegan restaurants while traveling because it's a good way to eat healthy. I ordered the vegan Reuben and I swear it was so good I'd probably choose it again over real pastrami and melted cheese. This thing was awesome! I love this place, everyone is always super nice. My fave is the BLT, never disappoints! Our other regular order everytime we visit is the BBQ Seitan; In the past it has been phenomenal, unfortunately they changed the Seitan and I wish they had kept a great thing great! The Seitan now is large cut, not as flavorful and charred. We ask for it to be cooked well-done in attempt to recapture our old favorite, which improved and somewhat resembled the older recipe. However our last visit about 6 weeks ago; we asked for it be prepared the same and it was so dried and hard that it was hard to swallow..... bring back the old recipe... pleeeze

I went 6/23/17. My girlfriend is in providence hospital. She's been in for a week. We are vegan, and it took two days for the hospital figured out what to fix her. (I know it's not hard). A nurse to me about your place, so I went to get her something besides rice and beans for 6 days. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and a vegan burger. The Reuben hands down was the best sandwich I ever had. We live in Connecticut, but we will go back. Thank you for your amazing food.

So I am a local that eats here just about every week and I have never had an issue. I would still go back considering Saturday night was the worst service I ever received from them. The food is good, the staff are friendly but I don't know if it was a new guy but he was horrible. What makes it even bad is we had a party of 6 and out of that 6, 3 ppl that never been to the place, so I excited for them to try the place out. I was just very disappointed with the service that night. We sat down at our table we were missing 3 forks not a big deal we got our starter fairly quickly and we put our entree orders in. I ordered the night speical which I was very excited to try. Everyone's food came out and my was last to come out again not a big deal EXCEPT it was not what I ordered. I told the server and he said they ran out of the speical. So he took my plate away and I was waiting for a menu thinking I'll just order something else, never got one I have to ask the bartender for one. I was about to order something else when our waiter came back and said they're gonna make it for you...THAT should have been my clue just to say no thanks and order the Mac and cheese but at this point he didn't give me a choice so I said whatever. I still wasn't upset just hungry. I waited for my food maybe five minutes or so when it came out it was so sloppy looking like they literally just threw it together. There was so much water on the plate the food was swimming in it. It just looked disgusting I had maybe two bits and wasn't really hungry after all if this. At this point I just wanted to leave go to wildfour to get real decent food. Our bill came and he only took part of it off the bill my boyfriend paid so he wouldn't let me see it because he knew I would make a big deal out of it which I feel is only right because with that food and how it was presented and how long I had to wait it should have been taken off the bill completely. The waiter had no communication we had to ask for a drink 3 times because he forgot and finally ask the bartender that was walking around helping ppl. Again maybe he was new or didn't know how to handle a big party but i don't know if I'll bring a big party to garden grille again. I think you guys are just good for the two of us on our regular nights. So with that being said I do like garden grille and plan to go back but I hope this will be a lesson to them to have better communication between their waiters and customers. Have I told you this place has my favorite vegan Reuben sandwich? The noise level used to be intolerable so I'd avoid going when super busy. They've now remodeled the place with acoustic ceiling tiles that really help cut down the jarring noise. Pleasant waitstaff. Now has a better bathroom too. :-) Unfortunately, there was a hair in my sandwich.

My whole family loves garden grill and it makes you feel really good after eating it. I don't think the service is bad or unfriendly at all. The staff was very quick and nice. I almost would have preferred to sit there all afternoon reading instead of eating so quickly!

I've heard great things about this place and all the rumors are true, it's amazing. The staff is extremely friendly. The decor is consistent with a modern vegan/raw restaurant. The food is incredible. A little more pricey than what one may expect, however, it is amazing and worth it. I had a simple salad with add-ons. It was the best salad I have had in months. Their homemade dressing delivers new flavor combinations that I have never experienced. I will definitely be back, next time I'm bringing my friends too!

We go here all the time and love the food. It is delicious and as a vegan it is my go to restaurant. My non-vegan friends usually really enjoy it, too. I usually get the burrito and really enjoy it. My wife's go to's are the quesadilla and the BLT. They also have delicious brunch. My only complaint is that I've been going to Garden Grille for over a decade, and the prices just keep going up and up and up.
