Love this place! Food is phenomenal for the portion and price and the people are the sweetest!!
Curry goat nice and tender The Taste is spot-on good dish so I had to get the stew chicken to go damn am I glad I did it's even better than the goat only because one is spicy and the other on the sweet and you get plenty of food for your money ..they have like three other dishes I need to try so I will go back again and again..
Great authentic island style Jamaican food. It shot! :-p
Food is delicious
Great atmosphere Good food and overall nice place to eat at, being from Boston I was excited to see they expand out to this small state..
Def my go to spot had some ackee n saltfish it sort out
Great selection, service, music and atmosphere in general. Meat cooked to perfection
Great fast food Jamaican.
Amazing food and friendly staff
Perfect place to get a home cooked meal. The flavor of their food is always on point and you'll remember it for months. The service is just as amazing as the food.
Food was just okay. Rice was sticky avd chicken wasn't fresh.
Soup is amazing!
Ok, Disrespect in past
This is a Jamaican restaurant chain with roots in Boston, Mass. I liked this location in Providence, RI. The lady server was nice and the food was fresh. They carry many traditional Jamaican dishes, snacks and beverages.
fiya fiya fiyaaa! lol foods Great
One of my favorite restaurants ever. Fantastic, traditional Jamaican comfort food! Warm, friendly staff. Great vibe... Flames is FIYA!
Curry chicken, Jerked Chicken is always Great! Oxtails & coco rice is my fave & its fire even tho yall could have gave a few more oxtails lol but jokes aside i'd recommend to anyone needing some authentic island taste from the Caribbean in lil' Rhode island!
Outstanding...the portions are way bigger than the price you pay...authentic, staff very nice, super atmosphere.....
They have the best beef patty's I have ever had.
Oxtail the best
Great service & food!
They are so funny and cool. I wanted Jerk Chicken and a side of Plantain.... the owner said no
The meats are especially tasty, the rest kinda average or slightly less.
When i have last went their, there was no menu were i could see the prices so it cost me a lot of confusion. This allows when there is no menu for the price to be change at anytime without you even knowing.
Food was just Ok
Always fun place with delicious food
The food was so so so so good!!! The guy behind the register was so friendly and awesome! He picked out a drink for my husband and I (with no reference to what we like) and the drinks were perfect and delicious. I would highly recommend this place! Respect!
The food was hot and fresh the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful . handsdown the best!!!
Cheap and really good
Awful customer service
I wasted $20.00 of my hard working earned money for an upset stomach and throwing up. It tasted so damn good until my stomach started bubbling. Someone was lazy back there on the temps/sanitation &/or cooking I am disappointed and traumatized.
Food is bad don't give you alot for the price, way overpriced, flavorless and the sadess thing is they are very ugly acting, unfriendly, bad attitude having people. Poor customer service. In my book they are wack food gives you a roaring case of heartburn and a tore of stomach I rate them a -10 for heartburn alone, good Lord have mercy.
Flames is definitely authentic Jamaican fare, toned down, just a bit, for the American palate. Great variety. If you already know about jerk chicken, try the salmon...or the sweet chili wings.
Good place to eat
Came here today for lunch, and I'm so glad I did. I had the stew beef with rice and beans and collard greens; it was amazing! So many great flavors.
Okay food, much better Jamaican style restaurants around providence. The most upsetting experience is the lack of cleanliness with one employee. The young man serving food in the morning/afternoon does not wash his hands properly..clear view of black dirt caked up under his fingernails. Nor does he wear gloves..eww. I will not be going to that location unless the 2 older gentleman are there after 4pm.
Not well seasoned and over priced for nothing. Also the women in this establishment have a poor attitude.. How dare i ask what is in the pan in front of me.
1. The restaurant is clean and it looks nice inside. *parking is a little tricky so be mindful* 2. The staff was courteous and pleasant to speak to 3. The portions and price are very good. 4. The food tastes amazing. It definitely hit the spot for me and reminded me of back home. 5. This place has a laid back vibe with many options to choose from. My new home away from home Jamaican restaurant.
Awesome food I love there curried goat. Best place in town in my opinion
I’m giving them a 3 solely on customer service . The food is great and I have no complaints on it at all . They are very unprofessional , slow and borderline harass women . Myself and a friend of mine couldn’t sit down and eat because the older gentlemen who rung up our order was spending majority of his time flirting and now paying ANY ATTENTION to the rest of the customers . I went on a different day and the same man rang my order. He kept trying to hold my hand while I gave him my debit card and trying to get my number. He also kept biting his lips at me and I was so annoyed that I have made the decision to not go back there . I felt bad for the rest of the customers because he spent literally 5 minutes harassing me that the line started to build up and no one started their orders .
Went there with my boss to pick up supper for our crew. We ended up being the last customers of the night. Super great people. Had no problem with us taking our time with the food order. Great price, super big take out container filled with outstanding food. They have multiple sizes for containers. We got mediums and to be honest I would say the amount of food in the med sz was like getting 3x that sz. Great food..
BEST stewed beef and green beans Got a good rubadub after I drank the sorrel juice but not by the white boi who got it for me! Sticking with the Jamrox who can rub that ish right . Great food and BEST service. Beautiful people and lovely personalities on everyone who works so hard to.make that food 100%+++!! Will definitely be back soon... Thank you!!
The food is bomb BUT! they open 3 hours before they have any food ready to sell you Me an a friend woke up at 8am an waited till 9 witch is an hour after they open It took ya 20 mins to walk there That’s an hour an 20mins we Gave them to cook the food when we get there there’s rice an greens layed out but we was told it would take another 2 hours till there food would completely done Why would this restaurant open at 8am an not have there food done till 11am This was a surprise to me because I have been there around the same time before an they had food prepared around this time so my friend an I tried to look up other restaurants but we only had a taste for there food LONG STORY SHORT!! we had noodles for breakfast and they missed out on a lot of money because we was going to order a lot of food
Best Jamaican food in new England and the singing guy is such a great part to the establishment. Highly recommended across the board.
The food is great, I'm always going in on the jerk chicken, rice and cabbage!!!!
Great Jamaican Food
The food is really good and one large plate is almost enough for two people (1 adult & 1 child). Parking is minimal so be prepared to park on the street. The variety of Jamaican food is amazing and so far no matter what you choose it will be awesome.
Great little Jamaican restaurant. Awesome food and drinks. The one negative is its small dining area, it's better to grab the food and leave. There's just not enough room if you have more than 1 person with you or they're busy to actually sit down and eat. Otherwise, great spot.
Really good Jamaican food!
Good food and pleasant staff
Authentic Jamaican food best in town.
Food is hella good
My favorite place for Caribbean or Jamaican cuisine. Fair prices good variety and friendly service.
Oxtail was overcooked and not very flavorful. They didn't have sweet plantains so I was very disappointed. I've defitnetly had better Jamaican food.
Amazing food!
This place was one of the most amazing Carribbean restaurants I ever visited. Right near RI Hospital too. The flame broiled taste of everything was great and the sauces were all homemade too. Late hours make it a special treat for the convenience. Plantains, pulled pork, rice and beans.. all well prepared and right across from LabCorp and the Emergency room.
I love going here food id good they're always smiling and singing
Very good West Indian food.
Good food good staff great environment best place to eat
Great food and great service!
Excellent Jamacian food
Love the food, and the customer service
Uhhhhhh.... This food is trash. Articulately speaking, I was famished and bpindsighted and sidelined by this atrocity. Thank you My boots on this grill. No one put their foot in jack.....
These people are rude. They treat you like you are bothering them or begging. I wont be back.
Good food
Good food and large portions.
food is great. bun and cheese is great. my suggestion is to get oxtail on side for it tends to drop inside the bag. also... the oxtail can be cooked to a lower temp so it can be tender... i ordered a large with curry goat(which was fine) but the oxtail was a little tougher than usual.
Best Jamaican restaurant in Rhode Island
Food was excellent! It was nicely seasoned. Easy to get to off the highway.
Good Caribbean food
Beef paty's are great, curry goat is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Too slow too much confusion and they get the orders mix up
Love my sweet chicken!!! Be prepared to wait in the line for a while.. their pretty slow, should definelty have another cashier and have more of a sense of urgency .The dude that rings in your order is something else lol.. be prepared! it's either you love him or hate him , either way it won't bother him. lol
Wonderful service! Great portions! Fair prices! I'd post a pic but I inhaled my food... literally
Great food!!! Guys are funny and clean environment..
Great food and they have faster service now. Love to hear the men serving sing the Jamaican songs.
Great food. I would have given a 5 if customer service was better. They are nice though.
OMG!! They take jamaican style oxtail to the next level. ALWAYS on point. Curry chicken or shrimp is also great. I cannot complain at all. Every time is super delicious. Guaranteed!
Love love this place! Great variety and portions, reasonably priced!
Good food and services
Seriously amazing food. Workers a bit odd but maybe that's just a cultural difference? Huge portions!
Food is delicious and service is great love this place
Got their jerk chicken (sauce on side) and salmon. Sides of cabbage, mac and cheese, green beans. Also tried the yellow rice and rice with beans. It was all so delicious and definitely gives you a feel you are in Jamaica! Would for sure go back anytime we are back in town!!! D&G ginger beer!!!
Nest Jamaican food in Providence . Reasonably priced. We drive across from time to time just to eat!
I love the food and they have great service
Great food but alittle overpriced and not alot of parking or dining room space. They put their food in styrofoam which takes away from the flaver. My favorite is the ox tail and mac & cheese.
Best Jamaican food in town!
Love this place
Good
Great food. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! The music in the restaurant is deafening so do not try dining in, you can barely make your order without shouting. The Cashier was cashing and sharing food at the same time while an older man returned from what appeared to have been his smoke break and began flirting with some female customers as opposed to assisting the Cashier with the line. The service is extremely poor and unless you are deaf and have all day to wait for a plate of food i wouldn't suggest. P.S I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE BEING POOR, MANAGER OR OWNER OF THE ESTABLISHMENT NEEDS TO INTERVENE ASAP! Or do you not value your customers??
Very good
Excellent food great costumer service and great
Sir Fox & Company - di food SELL OFF!
Food was tasty! Kind service. My daughter is a very picky eater but she loved the oxtail! Thanks
If you love Jamaican go here. But be prepared to.... 1.) Have to shout your order because the music while nice is too loud. 2.) Wait for a server because they are busy doing their own thing in the kitchen. I actually felt sorry for the girl who was trying to serve and cash out while...... 3.) The old guy who thinks he's young outside shouting on the phone while the shop fills up with customers. . 4.) Have some dude walked out of the kitchen see people waiting and wonder back in the kitchen. Good food bad bad bad service and attitude. Too bad there isn't another place in the area.
Great Jamaican food selection. The food is seasoned nice and isnt spicy. The music and atmosphere gives you a cultural feel of Jamaica.
The food is amazing and the people are even better. Every dish is out of this world.
Not enough staff at busy times. The line was going out the door, so it took 30mins just to get some food. The music was so loud they could barely hear my order. At least after all this, the food was good and so was the pricing.
Excellent food and always service with a smile...mac and cheese and sweet chili wings are fire....never mind all the other food...I love this place
Great classic Jamaican food, exactly what'd you expect from a mom & pop.
This is a nice place to visit if you're interested in jamaican food/Caribbean food
Great food and very nice staff
Excellent Jamaican oxtail meat and the salmon was superb!
Value for money, good portions of food with good variety. I have been surviving on their meals for the last two weeks and so far so good. Play more reggae music please. Keep up and do even better
Great food and great vibes. Nice to eat in as well and listen to some great reggae music while you dine on the best Jamaican food in RI.
I'm giving one star only because there's no option for negative ten star. While the food is reasonably good, it is not worth the horrible customer service you'll experience here. Today, the rudeness and harassment was just so much I walked out to never come back again. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. Truth be told, you can probably make better version of the dishes yourself.
Not that great severed me cold chicken 12pm
I love the food. Each and every plate
I'm Jamaican and I think the food was really good, but they didn't have everything that was on the menu. I wanted to order Patty and Cowfoot, but it wasn't available. Other than that and the kinda rude customer service, I think Flames was really good.
Y’all need to eat this place!! My very keeping restaurant for my curry goat dinner plate!!! PULL UP!!
Goin again n again
Great food
Very good I'll go back
The service from one guy in particular is amazing, hes always friendly and pleasant.
Nice food but poor customer service. Older lady server is mean and rude to customers.
Had 3 items... everything was tasty!...I enjoyed my saltfish.... curry goat and curry chicc... only thing i had issues with was the green beans... they were pretty tough tough to chew and the younger girl, server... she seemed to be upset I didn't know the routine being it was my first time there!... otherwise food was pretty good
Great flavors. Good price. Large portions!
Awsome food Excellent service and prices
good food but after a couple visits its gets kinda redundant
Ras star very delicious
Some of the best Caribbean cuisine I have ever tasted in my life, and I'm almost thirty so that should count. Atmosphere is fire maybe that's why they call it flames. I also did the music they play.
Best brown stew chicken I've ever had! Food is authentic Jamaican, and the atmosphere is very upbeat. Accept no substitutes!
It’s ok, the one in Boston has a little more flavor and spice..
The food and service is amazing! I go there most of the time. The amount of food they gave me is great! Its definitely worth the price. The employees are nice to me as well..i enjoy interacting with them--they're funny and cool.
Food was fresh and expertly seasoned meat , the vegetables (callaloo) was delightful ,Sophie as usual was friendly charming and a warm host I make a point of going to Flames in the morning when she usually is there
Foods good the people are nive quality varies day to day but overall enjoyable
Caribbean cuisine. Modest take out restaurant with extravagant flavors. Highly recommend the curry chicken.
Delightful staff and delicious food. Tried the coconut cake and reminded me of my Grandma's! ;)
Love CV their food
The food nice!
They never disappoint their customers
Superrrr friendly staff and the food is amazing. My favorite beef patties ever, you pretty much can not go wrong with anything they have on their menu.
Great food. Music playing to set the mood. Great customer service as well.
Food is amazing!!! Try and park on the street if you can. Parking lot is super small.
Flames is very good
Good food, good folks
There is literally no better spot in Providence to get delicious and authentic Jamaican cooking. Super friendly staff and the prices there are more than resonable. If I could eat there everyday I would.
Good food, fast service, nice staff
Best of jamaican food.
Lovely food. Good for everyone
I like this place. like jamaican food n theirs good.
Very good food, great selection of Jamaican food.. curry goat/chicken/crab & shrimps, jerk chicken & pork, chilli jerk chicken, stew beef and a other dishes to water the appetite. Service is great and owner is always in a true island mood...love eating there...eat in or take out
Best King fish in Rhode Island.
Delicious food, cant say it enough. The place is small so you cant sit down to eat with a large party. And the parking is rather horrendous.
They're only getting 2 stars because the food is good. The people who worl there are SO RUDE its not even believable. As the guy was making my plate i asked him to put an extra scoop of rice and he did, but then he put like a half of a scoop of cabbage on my plate. I wanted to say something about it but i didnt wanna be difficult so i just looked at it and frowned and let him keep going. I guess he noticed i was disappointed because this man literally looked me dead in the eye and said "fix your face." Not even like whats wrong, or, is there a problem... "Fix your face." Is that not rude in Jamaica?? So i told him he dont need to worry about my face, im a paying customer, all you need to concern yourself with is my money. Then when he was making my friends plate we asked if she could have the collards instead of the cabbage, he tried to charge us extra for collard greens! I went there before when the two ladies who usually work were there and they never tried to charge me extra to have greens instead of cabbage. And then when we checked out, with three very full plates, the guy at the register put everything into one bag. So i asked if he could double bag it because we're walking and we dont want the bag to break. He started shaking the bag and said "its fine it wont break." So what?! Its a 15 minute walk from here to my house. The handles will weaken. Just give me an extra bag! So i told him ill pay for the extra bag if its that big of a deal. He said "dont assume." My friend was confused but i knew exactly what he meant. He thought i assumed a bag costs more. And he was right. If you give me a hard time for asking for an extra bag you must want more money. This is the 2nd bad encounter ive had there. I wont go back. Which is sad, because the food is really good. But not good enough to make up for their nasty attitudes.
Best Flames in New England. One of the big differences is that they serve breakfast all day.
Foods good but with the customer service being as rude amd condescending, place will not last
Always good food mon
Food is good but young lady serving food is RUDE. The cashier charges me for things I did not have. So look at your receipt.
Great food every time everybody's finally good reggae music and food is always good jerk chicken is Off the Hook cover chicken bang in Kingfisher slamming
Convenient. Decent prices. Appealing, appetizing food. I'd recommend you try it. Great that as a college student, there's a reliable spot to get Jamaican food
Great selection of hot Jamaican food
Jerk my tummy this food is flavorful and has me doing the jerk
Very delicious food and price is right.
Food good,,Ask the owner if there's coconut milk in the rice and peas ,he will get a kick out of it1 love..
Most authentic Jamaican restaurant around. Fun environment and people. Portions and price are right on. Stop here on a weekly basis. Be adventurous, try something different, maybe cow foot soup?
