Rang to make a booking, and got their voicemail. Left a message with my details, but didn’t receive a call back. Decided that maybe they were busy and didn’t take bookings, so decided to chance it and drive there. Get there to find that they are closed for a holiday!! Great, good luck to you, everyone deserves a holiday. How about you put it on your voicemail, so that people know your closed? Very lackluster indeed.

So happy to have found this exciting Mexican restaurant with the kinds of offerings you just don't find in other Mexican restaurants in the area. We were so pleased with the tamales, tacos, enchiladas, drinks and really everything we ordered. We did try out a little of everything and even were pleased when we asked for an horchata based drink to which the bartender paired gin and it was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try more of the dishes!

I grew up in California and was used to either having homemade Mexican food or having the choice of eating great Mexican. When I moved to RI, I missed having homemade Mexican food. I tried a few places, but didn't care for any of them and then I found Chilangos. It became my second home. I absolutely loved their food! It's one of the only things I miss about living in RI. Anytime I have friends visit New England, they make a stop at Chilangos and they love it too! I miss my huaraches!

4 years, FOUR! That's how long I've lived 4.6 miles from this amazing authentic Mexican food joint without visiting. Don't get me wrong it's been bookmarked for a long time, shame on me. When we walked in my first thought was holy moly it's tiny in here. We were sat at a table for two in the far back next to the bar. How cozy. The complimentary chips and salsa were spicy and crispy just the way I like them. We started with the sliders. They were served on the most delicious fluffy yet perfectly crisp rolls. The pulled chicken was so moist and flavorful. Uh, to die for. My husband ordered the Burrito Villa. The pork was so tender, smoked and then fried up on the grill to order-as we were told by the young man serving us. It was also pumped full of oogey-gooey oaxaca cheese. I ordered the enchiladas potosinas. It was covered in a savory poblano sauce, corn, and shaved carne asada. I'm personally not a fan of corn tortillas, but I do understand they are needed to uphold an enchilada. So I was pleased when I bit into my enchiladas and they were perfect. The cocktails are creative and tasty, there are also some beer sections as well. I had a hard time making up my mind on what to order which I never see as a bad thing. This is a family run and owned establishment and you can feel the pride they have in great service and food. I can't wait to be back, I have my eye on you pollo en mole verde.

Delish! Incredible! Wonderful! Amazing appetizers, entrees and drinks as well. Great margaritas, poured strong but tasty. Tacos, nachos, enchiladas and tamales were all so lovingly prepared. Tamales especially, melt in your mouth good! I was wow'd everything. Gluten free and vegetarian options too!

Huge selection of meats to choose from for tacos, multiple kinds of tamales, and amazing, unique selections you can not find in other places. Awesome drinks (both alcoholic and non) and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Food was very good. Close to a 5/5 Service killed it for me though, which is the reason for the 3/5. Walked in, took about 10 minutes before anyone even asked for a name to reserve a table. Long wait for a table (not really their fault, it was a Friday, so typically busy), when we finally sat, we waited long for our orders to be taken, waited long for food, waited long to get our boxes for left overs, and waited long for our check. Although it was busy, there were 4 employees waitressing, don’t know how they couldn’t keep up with orders ect, as the restaurant isn’t that big in size. I would probably go back if I was in the neighborhood and it was a weekday and knew they were slow.

Just returned from dinner at Chilangos this evening. There was four of us and we all loved our meals. The food was well seasoned, fresh and authentic. We also had the mango and guava margarita's. For dessert we shared a flan--so good, and a churro. I would absolutely go back. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning when we come back to Providence.

Incredible, just incredible. Run by three brothers and an uncle, this mexican joint will blow your mind. Recommend the hibiscus bloom quesadilla. Cocktails are on the more expensive end but they are interesting and delicious. Menu has appetizers, smaller plates, and entrees. Things ranged from $5-15, with affordable fillers available for your broke hungry days and more elaborate big plates for your fake rich days. Come and find a place worth sharing with your friends and loved ones.

Amazing! Seasonal menu! Got the something verda it was like really good pulled chicken wrapped and covered in cheese and beans to the right and rice to the left was really delicious! Also got a margrita with salt and that was sssoooo good! Will definitely be going back soon! Oh outside is misleading inside is cozy nice light beautiful bar comfortable seating!

Huge fan of Chilangos. Margaritas are great, enchiladas verde are phenomenal and the weekend staff is always very friendly. we come here from Boston, always calling ahead to make sure they are open, and it is well worth the drive. Prices are very reasonable too.

I go to an array of restaurants and always provide a good tip. It was my first time at Chilangos. The wait for the food was long (about an hour). The waiter took the carafe of water and never bought any water back. He never asked the infamous question “how is everything .” The chicken was dry and tasteless. He threw the check on the table and didn’t say anything. I was so upset, for the first time in my life, I did not provide a tip.

MANGO MARGARITAS! By far, no in betweens, the best Mexican joint in RI. I can't believe it took me 17 before discovering it. The host Hector is a 76 year old man with so much positive energy that I felt older than him by 10 years (I'm 47). From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked I was welcomed with open arms and when leaving, left with hugs. The food was absolutely delicious. With that said even if the food was not so good, I will still be a repeat customer just for the experience of a great evening! My friend, work brother, brought me and I can't wait to get back there with my wife and kids!

I was impressed the moment I walked in the door. Although it is dark with walls of an off black background, the atmosphere is light and airy. The decor had hints here and there of a Tex/Mex mix. Not overly elaborate. I liked the small black bulls horns mounted to a wall near the bar. The Server was pleasant and quick to serve. He also allowed us ample time to look over what appeared to be a specialty or Bistro type one page menu. I was amazed I didn't know about this restaurant sooner as I learned it has been in business over 15 years. What a find! I ordered one of the two salad items on the menu. I had the grilled chicken. It was excellent and I highly recommend it if you are being health conscious! Pammy had the Gordita which she rates from 1 - 10 as 9! We also ordered the Nacho... SPICY ..Good.. But not for the faint of heart! Very spicy beans, & Jalapenos! Put it on your "To Go To" list.

This is a great Mexican restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff, really generous portions and great drinks. I had the chimichanga and the first tequila cocktail on the list (with a very long name, that I could not pronounce) and both were fantastic. You will like this place!

Wow! The food is so good here! You would never find Chilangos unless you lived in the neighborhood or knew someone who did. But, once you have been there, it will be on your map forever. Best Mexican I have had in years and years. It isn't show off food, it is just superb. It is a family run place and everything I saw tells me this is a family I would want to know.
