Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The chicken is all dark meat and of average quality. There is no breast meat. Everything I ate was very greasy and a bit salty, not my preference. The mac and cheese was incredibly average and nothing really stood out to me.

I went with my family for what I proclaimed to be 'the best fried chicken' you can get in RI.. thankfully atleast the food was as I remembered - the lemonade and ice tea were also great. The experience was extremely disappointing, and the male that was cooking fried chicken decided to refer to me as a D-HEAD in front of my two children, because I asked the kind female cashier for an extra splash of iced tea, as my entire cup was filled with ice to begin with. I spent 60$ on food at this establishment today. The unprofessional and disrespectful cook has now tarnished this establishment for me with his lack of customer centricity and straight up ignorant remarks. If you enjoy good fried chicken and being called names by a guy cooking chicken, in front of your children and other customers, then this is the place for you. I WOULD GIVE A ZERO if it were an option.

Delicious food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service! The Catfish Po'boy was amazing. The breading was perfectly seasoned. It was cooked to perfection and the potato salad was as southern as they come! Can't wait to try more when I visit again :)

You will love this place if you like the hipster atmosphere in a ducked off area. You might not like it if you dont like loud rap music. You'll love the chicken...period. My family members loved their fried fish, oysters, and fried chicken biscuit. The waffle fries are addicting. And the sauce served with the tenders is to die for, kinda spicy. The women running it were top notch, I love to see all women workin a spot like that!

I went in looking for chicken breasts and found out they don't serve them. So I went with the tenders and fries, a side of Mac n cheese, and a side of slaw. The mac n cheese was ok, the slaw decent but a little too vinegary for me. The waffle fries were awesome. The chicken was perfection. A nice light batter, great flavor, and just juicy enough. The girl that took my order was patient, extremely helpful, and really pleasant. A really nice experience.

The service is great ....plus as you wait you can have a beer or wine...the wait is because they cook the chicken fresh....and I mean fresh....it's deeeelishously good....I recommend it to every one....I'm just happy with the service there....it's great....thank you bucktown

I dont want to slam this place the atmosphere was very nice and homey I really want to say the food was great but the fried chicken cant compare to the honemade chicken I get and thats not being biased i have tried a lot of fried chicken and someone i know has a certain way where its crispy through skin and all and juicy inside and the meat falls off the bone most fried chicken the outside is crispy but the skin is slimy rubbery and the meat is tenuious the staff was friendly and the hush puppies were great mac and cheese was dry I wanted to give this place a great review but I cant sorry

This place is mediocre at best . Chicken and waffle weren’t so good . Who serves legs with chicken and waffles ? The macaroni and cheese was dry . The potato salad Tasted bad , the shrimp had no flavor . Hopefully it will get better with time . Service was good !!

Best west coast style Double Bacon Cheesburger around, this is my go to- weekly!! Fresh waffle fries, tasty beer and fantastic service!! Egg Sando w/bacon on a fresh biscuit is second to none and a must try! Most visit Providence for the Italian food, but you should really be visiting for this hidden gem! My next trip will be for their Fried Chicken & Waffle. Keep up the good work Bucktown!!!!!!

First time there was last Friday and holy hell was that some good eating. Their Fried chicken is breaded perfectly and so deliciously juicy. Their Mac and Cheese was a joyful explosion of flavor in my mouth the same goes for their waffle fries. Their biscuits are on a whole other level of baked biscuits as well. The entire time I was eating this meal I just couldn't stop smiling. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back again soon.

Must visit for quality street food. The waffle fries are delicious and make sure to try the biscuit with fried chicken. Their sides taste good too! The selection of beers on tap is paired well to the food. The staff is so friendly and nice, it's a welcoming place and it feels good to be there. Relatively cheap for the quality of food! Perfect place to grab a quick bite in a relaxed and very informal setting.

Local joint in the middle of a neighborhood. Not a big place or menu, but what they do offer, they are great at preparing it. Very very good, southern comfort food. Chicken biscuit was on point. Green's and Mac & Cheese will rival your mother's cooking. Staff was cool and polite. Will visit again. These guys know how to cook.

Small and quaint place. They do have a few beers on tap as well as wine. Fresh squeezed lemonade as well. Their collard greens are by far the BEST I have ever had!!! The waffle fries were really good as well with a crisp. The chicken was alright but they put the me and pride in their food.

They have great sweet tea and hibiscus tea. Their shrimp po boy was great. The bread was flaky and toasted. The collard greens are just like home. Their cucumber salad is vinegary and good. It's like fresh made pickles with onions and dill. Can not wait to go back.

Do you ever have neighborhood gems you like so much that you question sharing how much you love it just so it won’t get more crowded than it already is? That’s Bucktown for you. It’s an unassuming, unpretentious, little place marked only by a vintage Coca Cola sign outside. They are churning out the most amazing southern eats you’ll find in New England. The were on Bon Appetit’s best new restaurants list in 2017, so you know they mean business. I’ve gone so many times I can’t count. The Cajun waffle fries are a must. I’d go as far as to say they’re the best fries in PVD. The shrimp and oyster fried po boys are perfectly crisp and served up on a buttery, griddled roll. Hush puppies with honey butter? Heavenly. Meat loving friends rave about the chicken and waffles too!! My advice is to hit up some of the bars nearby—Bayberry, Ogie’s, and Long Live Beerworks are solid picks—and then venture over when you eventually get ravenous later in the evening. It will feel like a revelation every time.

Bucktown was recommended. So, decided to dine at this quaint little spot. Located off westminister street in West End section of providence. I love the decor of the open beams and track lighting and the little accent pieces. The seating reminds me of earlier style diners, with bar stool counter seating. The wood stools are very comfortable. The menu is small but perfect. I dont like 2 to 3 pages of entrees. The pricing is reasonable compared to other restaurants in Cranston that offers same dinners. We chose captains dinner. It comes with nice size Fried Catfish. It had a nice coating and cooked perfect. Fried shrimp, Hush puppies that very tasty, and Oysters. We substituted the Oysters for extra shrimp. Our second entree Fried Chicken dinner. 3 pieces of chicken. The coating had a little too much baking soda, minor issue and could see the flour on the coating. Seasoned perfect!! Both entrees came with 2 sides. For the Catfish. We chose potato salad and collards. So, I'm sorry but I belive there is horseradish in the potato sald, and it did not taste good. Macaroni & Cheese which is excellent!!!! Just an FYI someone put their foot in them collard greens... wwwooo doggy please don't change it.. My experience rating: Highly Recommend Atmosphere: Inviting, comfortable Thank you for good comfort food.. God Bless and continue success. I will be returning.

I took my girlfriend out for her birthday and then out to eat at bucktown. It was her and my first time eating their, we were not disappointed we got waffle and fries it came out with very little wait and was made perfect the inside of the restuarant is a little small and parking is on the street with no parking lot but the food was definitely worth it 4/5..

Cool place, nice employees, and the food looks great. The fish is good not the freshest. The chicken is all undercooked. Fried are oversalted. Slaw isnt fresh. Potatoes salad way too mustard. I wanted to like this place but won't come back.

Absolutely incredible. This place is a little out of control. I recommend a Chicken Biscuit or a classic Chicken Sandwich! You must order the waffle fries; extremely crispy! The staff is great and everything all the way down to their special sauces is memorable! I have to come back.

No frills chicken joint offering made to order chicken, delighful biscuits, and yummy sides. The collard greens here are delicious and the cole slaw is tangy and light, a great accompaniment to fried fare. The waffle fries are crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. No need for salt, these are perfect as is. Finally, the chicken has a homemade quality to it, their brining process adds a nice flavor and ensures a juicy piece of meat. No crazy batter just a nice simple flour coating on the meat. Tasty stuff

I'm originally from Houston Texas I had a hankering for some authentic Southern food fish fried in cornmeal hush puppies and fried chicken this place knocked my socks off the sides were incredible cucumber salad is a must I had to order extra Hush Puppies because they reminded me of my grandmother this is a definite come back and try again place a little pricey but definitely well worth it because everything is fresh made to order even the iced tea and lemonade were Southern

If you like fried chicken this is the place for you. I actually had the fried fish sandwich, which is served with pickles and Coleslaw in the sandwich on a potato bun - VERY good. They take credit cards, parking is limited on the street. There's outside seating on a rail, but still very nice to sit outside on a summer's night. It's an old Neighbor with cobble stone streets and I felt very safe walking around with everyone else.

The food is unreal. Chicken, fries, potato salad are 10 out of 10. Hush puppies are 12 out of 10. Careful with the Coleslaw, it’s fresh and all but it isn’t mayo based, which I prefer. Definitely good but I just have a different preference. If you’re in town make sure to check it out.

Unless u are getting sandwiches or u are a single person this place is absolutely not cheap, now let's talk food.......fried chicken dark, slimey , an salty now I'm thinking brined chicken that's the only way u get really salty meat ( ok fried chicken is not ment to be healthy) but seriously......hush puppies an honey butter is very good , waffles soggy ( u need texture somewhere) an they were put of the only healthy thing there cucumber salad, which definitely would add a refreshing break to all the salt an fat. If ur drunk u would absolutely live this place but other then that no my cup of tea

Very hole-in-the-wall and unassuming from the outside. Smallish on the inside but well-decorated and interesting. The menu isn't long but I think that's a good thing. It keeps it simple and quality controlled. The food was great, we tried catfish and a burger with egg and bacon at lunch time. It was pretty quiet. Service was excellent. I would go again.
