As "Authentic" as a restaurant can be! Thank you Candy for professional service as well as your welcoming attitude. My wife and I will be returning and making the trip to Federal Hill from Worcester very soon. Also when ever Marco Turo is doing his thing there you definitely must get there to hear him sing. Food was amazing, as was the service. Will definitely be visiting again when we come back to Providence! The eggplant was awesome. The sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The place was easy to find and there was parking available. Pros- quality of food, taste, and presentation. Areas for improvement- staff knowledge of menu items, raviolis were good but not as great as the rest of the meal. To be fair, the rest of the meal made the bar pretty high. I would definitely recommend trying this place! If I lived here it would be my go-to place for date night.

Anthony's was the definition of great Italian cuisine. This unassuming gem is located on the southern end of Atwells Avenue and embodies all that defines authenticity, fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding and pleasant thanks to Candy, our hostess and server. Well worth the visit, you will not be disappointed.

Comfortable, small place. One waitress on a Tuesday was outstanding, efficient, checked to make sure all was well. Had their Federal Hill sandwich with exquisite bread. Pasta fagiole soup was best. Will be back!

Had the white clam and home made pasta 4 dollars extra, sandy clams and very salty pasta could not eat it, they only took 10 dollars off. The rest of the things we got were good. But they should have taken not meal full price off. We did spend $180. So probably would not go back.

First of all the staff is incredible. Second the food is AAAmazing!!!! That chef is on point. This is my favorite restaurant on the hill. Super relaxed atmosphere. Live entertainment was great as well.

Service was excellent but food was questionable. I ordered the chicken parm even though price was a little high compared to other restaurants. The chicken was literally grey & rubbery. It wasn’t horrible but wasn’t great either. There’s a lot of other Italian restaurants in RI I would rather go to.

I had a good experience here. Classic Italian, can't go wrong! The prices are way more reasonable than a lot of the high end joints you can go to. I was impressed with the food and service. You get huge portions so I recommend splitting an entree unless you're REALLY hungry. I didn't have room for dessert but their dessert looked good too!

What a gem! We were pleasantly surprised buy the food quality. The reviews people have given so far are spot-on. The house gravy / red sauce is well-balanced and flavorful and the handmade meatballs melt-in-your-mouth. Bolognese stands up to the best in the state.

The name says it all-authentic! Our meals were delicious. The calamari and veal marsala were tender and cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and service was wonderful. This was our first time and now will be our go to Italian restaurant.

Two factors were the key drivers that landed me here: 1) The meatball with ricotta cheese and marinara sauce. 2) The reviews for this restaurant were top of the pack. Atwell Ave., the street where Anthony’s is located, is lined with Italian Restaurants and they are all good however, Anthony’s stands alone. I didn’t visit all see all of the Italian restaurants in the area but the ones I saw were cut from a different cloth. Anthony’s offers a lot more home style feel and traditional environment and the food is awesome! I took them up on the meatball and also had the eggplant rollatini, chased by a glass of vino. The cheese they use for both the meatball topping and rollatini is so smooth and creamy you’ll want and entree of just that. The marinara sauce was delicious and a-plenty.

Not a place I'd return to. The service was extremely slow, with only 1 bartender. Place is very small & very close fit seating. We got there earlier than the rest of our party of 9. We did have reservations. We were seated and it took close to 30 minutes before our watress came over to take our drink order, plus we asked the busboy to send her over prior to. She complained it wasn't her fault, there was only 1 bartender and she had 4 tables to service. She had trouble getting our drink orders right. No beer on tap, only bottled. The food was less than ok, tho people in my party said their food was good. I got the spaghetti & meatballs which was nothing to brag about. The sauce was nothing more than chopped tomatoes with a few spices. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant. Maybe it was just a bad night for them? Sorry I didn't snap an image of the food.

I will start by saying that the meatballs were absolutely delicious. Everything else was just eh. The fried smelts was just skin lightly fried, no actual smelt meat or fish flavor, the pasta fagioli was very bland. Service was very friendly and attentive. Not sure we would go back unless just for the meatballs.
