This place is amazing. Food is delicious and the service was great. I loved the scenery and decorum of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and I will be back again.

This rating does not reflect the food at all because I was never able to try the food. We were seated outside, and brought waters. 15 minutes pass and we are only brought more waters. No one asks for a drink or app order. After 20+ minutes of no actual service, we leave. I really wanted to try it, but obviously on the day we went they had their D-team working that day. Shame, really had some whisky I was interested I trying out.

The only person worth their salt at this restaurant is the bartender. The cheese sauce with the fries tastes like nothing. The veggie burger that appeared on best thing I ever ate falls apart and lacks seasoning. The drinks are freaking excellent, seriously the bartender is very good at his job. I just wish I could say the same about the chef.

The cuisine was top notch; however, I made the mistake in ordering through Uber Eats. My delivery person travelled to 18th race from the restaurant, which is at 20th and Sansom, but my address and Target delivery point was 30th& Walnut. I ended up having to microwave it. Shame. Lesson learned. I can never get into Village Whiskey, because it's so popular! I wish the restaurant continued success, but Uber Eats will be history, at least for me.

The service was great, and we really enjoyed the ambiance and set up of the restaurant. The burgers are big and clunky and doesn’t make for a great eating experience. I got the classic and my partner got the vegetarian burger. Both were good but hers was absurdly messy. The drinks were scrumptious so shout out to the bartender the other night. It’s a pricey spot since items are sold a la cart. (Burger no fries? Sheesh) would definitely come back for the drinks however.

After reading about this spot in and article about the best burger places in every state this was the place for PA. I must admit it did not disappoint. Small restaurant but very nice clean friendly staff. I ordered a Rob Zombie cocktail was done very well. Village burger and duck fat fries. I would definitely put this up as one of the best burgers I ate however the fries are the real winner with the duck fat making the most delicious crispy done fries I've had in a long time. I would def recommend reservation as the seating space is super limited and I waited over and hour for a seat. That being said it was definitely worth the wait. Word to the wise. If you order the duck fat fries with short rib don't plan on getting and entree you will 100% be full.

Service was outstanding. It's small and can get crowded, but there are some first come first serve seats in the back past the bar, so always check those out. Awesome whiskey list, and a cool food menu. We just wanted something to snack on while having a few bourbons, so this pickled tomato plate that comes with whipped ricotta, olive tapenade, and toasted sourdough was perfect.

had a very nice business lunch here. we were 1st customers when it opened, so not to busy. nice selection of beer. had a few local ones that were very good. The signature burger was had by my companion who loved it but couldn't finish it. We split the short rib fries. very unique and plentiful. the 2 of us did not finish. I had the Hot Brown which was very good. I make my own so was interested in how this would measure up. it was very good without being overpowering with the Mornay

Enjoyed this place very much. Spent the day in Philly with friends and this was one of the stops. Bartender was friendly and the place had a cozy feel to it. Had a decent Neshaminy Creek IPA. This is a whiskey focused place so don't expect a vast beer selection. Even so, it's a great place.

I know no other place that offers an extensive whiskey menu as this place. You should come with deep pockets though. If you want to drink multiple whiskeys outside of the flights you will be spending a whole nights wad of cash on 3 mid tier whiskeys.

Saw Village Whiskey on a food program in the UK. Was visiting Philly so decided to go. Pictured is the bar area, there appears to be limited covers, we went on a Monday lunch time, so walked straight in, I would think you need to book at weekends. 3 of us shared the short rib duck fat fries as a starter and there was plenty, these are very rich as they have a cheddar sauce on too. I had the most expensive burger, the Whiskey King, which has foie Gras and blue cheese on, all washed it down with a old fashioned cocktail, all pictured. Food and cocktail was excellent and Village Whiskey had a really cool feel about it. The bar has a large selection of Whiskey, as the name would imply. There is a picture of the menu too. Definitely worth a visit.

The burgers were delicious but as far as the whiskey goes it was pretty standard fare. If you're a casual whiskey drinker you'll probably like it fine, but if you're a more distinguished drinker or like trying something new you'll need to look elsewhere.

Excellent whiskey bar. A huge selection of whiskey and some very solid cocktails as well. The food is quite good - it's not cheap but not too expensive either. Duck fat fries are better than I could have hoped. It's got a nice brunch that usually isn't very crowded also, which is great for the area.

Food: A Service: A+++ Drinks: A Soundtrack: A+ My family walked in with a side by side stroller (that we could not collapse because our boys were napping) and thought we wouldn't fit and the staff was very accommodating. With a smile they moved tables and chairs to squeeze in our massive stroller without any trouble. The smash burgers are incredible. If you like burgers and whiskey this place is a must!

Showed up 4:30pm on a Friday, waiting for the rest of our party of 6. They set us up with a corner booth and pulled together some bistro tables. Worked out great! Got crowded, but not real noisy. Great hipster, comfy vibe. Food was very good: tater tots were great, oysters delicious, burgers voted Best in PA, duck fat fries were something different and very good. Mixed drinks were excellent (I'm a beer, wine person, but I tried everybody's and they were delicious treatments of brown liquor). Service was fine, hostess stepping in frequently to make sure we were good, as did a busboy. We'll definitely be back. We also really enjoy The Good Dog, but here the food is a bit more upscale and the vibe a bit more laid back. Plus an open air parking lot across the street.

I was skeptical because of the limited amount of items on the menu. But I was pleasantly surprised and GREATLY enjoyed my chicken sandwich. Food was delicious especially the short rib fries. On the expensive side for burgers but I am sure it's location can command those prices. Small yet quaint on the inside. Servers were helpful. The only complaint is the server refilling water glasses let his bare arm dip into the order of short rib fries and he didn't say anything ...just kept going.

What a great happy hour! I had a really nice time. We showed up around 5-530 and it was pretty quiet and empty. Then as we sat a little longer the life really picked up. The cocktails were expertly crafted. The bartender knew so much about his liquor and available mixes. I ordered a penicillin. The happy hour food was really good too. Definitely worth getting the fried shrimp.

Great food and drinks. This was one of the few places to have Stagg Jr bourbon and the food was awesome. My only issue was the size. This place is tight so expect to be close to others. Otherwise the drinks, bourbon selection, food and service makes this a great place to be.

It was so awesome! Our waitress got us a table outside so fast despite us not having a reservation. This was our first visit and we weren't too knowledgeable about the types of liquors served but our waitress spent time with us recommending and describing many drinks. I wish I knew her name but all the staff I came in contact with were delightful.

I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday, hoping to try out their brunch menu. Unfortunately, we happened to stop by during Restaurant Week and they were only offering their lunch/RW menu at the time. In the end, I went with the pulled pork sandwich and my boyfriend got the burger. Both were delicious, but a bit on the expensive side for lunch considering neither option came with a side dish and we had to pay extra for cheese (and all other toppings) for the burger. I'd like to come back for dinner one time-- and maybe try out some of their lengthy whiskey menu-- but am in no rush.

The food was fair. The service was fair. The menu wording was ambiguous. The air conditioning was broken. The hostess failed to inform us that it wasn't working. The hostess stand was in the vestibule and it was difficult to discern on your own. It was insufferably hot in the restaurant. If we had known we would have made a different dining choice. The complimentary mini vanilla shake was a nice gesture.

Oh, how I loved visiting this place. Give me a oldie style tile floor, tall tin ceilings, whiskey and a burger and I feel very much like I'm in the middle of civilized living. The burger is so gigantor it is unlike anything else around. Let them pick a whiskey for you. This bar is one of the places we don't have on the West Coast.

I absolutely loved it here! They have fantastic service, the people who work here are so great. The atmosphere is warm and comforting. They have good happy hour specials on drinks but no happy hour specials for food. We had to wait for a table but there is a nice area to wait in the back and we got seated very quickly. I loved their appetizers I would like to come back and try more!

Had a nice date night with my wife, Excellent Bourbon menu for starters! We both had burgers for or meal and they were quite good and large. Cooked as ordered, Fries were a little tasteless for being duck fat fries. I normally expect a lot more savory if something is being cooked in duck fat. Overall I would return again.

Had a great time at this little spot! So they did lose a star because it's a little tight especially when they have a full house but dont let that put you off cause its definitely worth the squeeze. So when you first go in the vibe is just beautiful bar and this bar is having an affair with a gourmet restaurant! So I went with my girls for restaurant week for dinner. We had cocktails of course and no matter what you like, you will find it here. They have an impressive and extensive line up of Scotch and Whiskey among other things. We had an appetizer for the table that included deviled eggs, a loaf of sourdough, thinly sliced country ham, pickled beets, and a variety of spreads. Everything was delicious, fresh and beautiful. So after that we all had the Village Burger. I ordered mine medium and it came out PERFECT! I haven't had a burger this great in years! Paired with perfectly seasoned duck fat fries. Dessert was simple and not too sweet and a great way to end the night. And I can not forget to mention how GREAT the service was from the hostess to the bartender, to our hardworking all-star waiter! Will definitely be going back and I would recommend it to everyone!!!

Pretty cramped. But, to be truthful, if you manage to sit at the bar or grab seating this place's tiny size shines and a cozy atmosphere pierces through. You can converse with others or meet someone new without having to raid your voice, dodge elbows, or worry about someone awkwardly hovering over your shoulder to place an order. Unexpectedly, it's pretty fantastic.

If I could give this place a zero star I would. The customer service I received the other evening was disgraceful, actually it wasn't service at all. I am 22 years old out celebrating my boyfriends 23rd birthday with our friends which was going great until we sat down at the bar. It was about 11pm and one of the bartenders he had a beard asked us for our ID. This is typical because we do look young we are all in our early 20's so with no hesitation we all begin to take out our IDs. My friend hands his to the bartender who than looks at it and says and I quote "Do you have a second form of ID I'm not allowed to serve anyone who has a license that says under the age of 21 until in red." Now lets keep in mind that every person from around the age 20-24 has this on there ID. or until they receive a new one after they turn 21. None the less my friend was 23 and it clearly stated he turned 21 several years ago. The bartender refused to serve us and walked away. Confused and annoyed we decided to leave and take our money elsewhere. As we were leaving my boyfriend asked another bartender why you weren't allowed to serve anyone with "under the age of 21 until (date you turn 21)." His response was that wasn't the problem my coworker said your friends ID was expired if that's not the case your welcome to come back in and get a drink. FALSE his co worker never once said that my friends ID was expired. I don't know if he didn't want to serve us because we are younger and maybe he thought we wouldn't tip well. I am not sure what the problem was but it was an awful experience and I think it was handled very poorly by this establishment. I have been to this place on several occasions and have recommended it to many people but now ill just share the awful experience and make sure too tell people to NEVER go here. This bartender was arrogant and they need to fire him ASAP.

Great cocktails. The staff is knowledgeable for the most part and the environment is intimate. This place boasts, or at least its patrons do, one of the best burgers in the city. It’s good to be sure, but at $24 or $26 (apologies I don’t exactly recall) it’s not one of the best enough. Would happily return just for the cocktails.

The burger and fries are legit on a very short list for best in the city. Like deserve a 6 star rating. The space itself is kinda cool but small and cramped and not really my speed. Even if you give the atmosphere 3.5 stars still averages out to 5 stars on the back of the burger/fries.
