Just went here for dinner tonight. The service was great. The food was ok. The cream of crab soup was pretty good and the salad very nice. However I had the crab cake. It was very small and had little flavor. I should have known not to order a crab cake outside of maryland.

We went for lunch around noon and the waitress gave us the brunch menu. I asked if we could have the full menu but she said they were only doing brunch, but the family that came in five minutes after us got the full menu. Food was good, but not sure why we weren’t given the full menu. I really wanted some wings!

Went with a party of three on a Saturday right during peak lunch hour. The restaurant was quiet at first but picked up and the bar had a great crowd. Service was great, server very friendly. We were very happy with the food: two ordered the cream of crab soup which had lots of lump crab and tasted very good though maybe could have used just a bit more flavor. Other items: Caesar salad and BLT both good though nothing exciting, burger was excellent. You can tell everything is prepared fresh and desserts are house-made - we had a round of their creme brulee - yummy. The menu had a good variety to choose from that focused on quality without trying to do too much and compromising their standards. I much prefer local places over chains and this place is a winner. I'll definitely return.

The dining room is more private and a slower pace for an extended meal. The sports bar is great for viewing sports but I find the beer selection and the great food and service the best part. We try to go a few times a month and always have a nice meal.

I've been here multiple times. Some of the experiences were great. Others have been awful. I would reccomend going during an off peak times and then only if you have a lot of time to spare. Food always seems to take awhile to come out but in my experience has been good. My biggest concern with this place is the wait staff. If you go when its busy its an absolute disatrous mess. Most recent I ended up walking out as I saw people walk in be told there was a wait but would just walk to open tables. I saw people getting seated out of order and others just getting up and walking out after getting too frustrated. Wait staff seems a bit rude and off putting in the slow times but its taken to a whole new level when its busy. This place would easily get 5 stars from me if there was perhaps some retraining of problematic wait staff and maybe some more thought put into where people can stand while waiting. Also might help if people were seated in the order in which they come in (talking multiple parties with same number of people). The food is good and I don't mind waiting but it makes it hard if the experience while waiting is awful.

I stopped in tonight for a drink and to sample the local cuisine. To my shock, I was not served food here. I am from out of town in business, and had to find a menu on my own, yet no server would acknowledge me. I was well dressed and quiet, but simply had to give up and walk away from this place. The reno looks neat and clean. Nicely done. Food was good, but had to order from lunch menu. Dinner is served at 4pm. No exceptions. Ordered @230PM when total party arrived. Was not told this when booking a belated Mother's Day dinner. Live and learn. Crab cake was bite size and mostly filler.

Probably my favorite spot to eat in town. Beer menu is always loaded with something for everyone. IPAs, dark ales, blondes, sours, etc. I had one of their specials which was a burger with a cranberry sauce. It was one of the best burgers I ever had. The servers are awesome and really know the menu and the brews. I always take my out of town guests here and schedule business lunches here as well. I can’t recommend enough.

First off Paige was a wonderful server! Second off this place needs to decide if it wants to be a nice restaurant or a bar/restaurant. The bar area was busy and very loud in the dining area. Sooo the food was mediocre at best. We started with the fried calamari which was extremely salty! 2 of our party orded bugers which were over cooked and tasteless. The crab cake was nothing to talk about (for $19 I want to talk about it!) The chicken oscar was tasteless and dry! Needless to say we were very disappointed. This restaurant is very close (we could walk faster than drive) and being new to the area we had high hopes. I would maybe go back to sit at the bar and have a cocktail but beyond that it's a no. And for the love of God if your children are not behaved and screech the whole time stay home and have mac & cheese or get a babysitter!!!

Call ahead seating. Said the restaurant was recommended and were coming to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was our first time coming. Asked where we wanted to sit and said since we have never been whatever would be more appropriate for the occasion. Was told 40 minutes and we would get the first available seat. Get to restaurant within 40 and told an additional 15 minutes. In the meantime another couple is upset because people that arrived after them have been seated and they are forced to wait an additional ten minutes. Our wait turned into a half hour. There didn't appear to be a place for someone handicapped to wait. Finally seated on the bar side. After 15 minutes of watching waiters walk back and forth and no one acknowledging us a waiter asked if we were being helped. Seemed like it was this isn't my table but I'll take care of you. The service from him was good at least once he started. Ordered an appetizer and steaks for dinner. Rib eye was straight up raw. Filet was cooked perfectly though. Both were bland and salt just didn't seem to help either. Crabcake had a fishy taste. But the beer selection was excellent but seemed a little over priced. By the time we were done with our dinner there was a different waiter sitting at the bar drinking. Overall just wasn't impressed.

4 stars because of the salty food. Otherwise, you gotta eat here atleast once. It's a bit pricey, $10 to $21 for burgers. Everyone is friendly here. Booth, bar, or bar table seating. Gorgeous brick work inside. It's hard to see from the road And looks very unassuming from its old exterior but once inside its comdortable and nice. Great beer selection

To be honest, if it was possible for me leave zero stars , I would . We chose this restaurant for our first double date night in Hanover based upon the overall high reviews. Upon arriving, I could tell that this was very popular spot , as there was absolutely no parking , and even less room to stand. We had called ahead for seating , which thankfully for the most part was provided as requested. We only had to stand for approximately 15 minutes blocking the entrance to the establishment, the entrance to the kitchen, and the bar. Not to mention that while we were waiting , we were basically standing on top of other patron’s tables due to the lack of space. When we were finally seated , we had the most undertrained / unqualified waiter I have ever had the displeasure of working with . We ordered drinks , however he brought us out the wrong beers. As it was so busy , we decided just to drink them . ( He cleverly failed to mention the prices , one of which being $10 for a beer on tap , which on its own is obnoxious and inflated ) After looking at the menu and deciding what to eat , I asked the waiter if the restaurant was able to make accommodations for those with dietary restrictions. He replied yes , they would provide double vegetables in place of the potatoes ( Which I am unable to eat ) . Eventually the food comes out and my " blue cheese encrusted " 12 oz rib eye with " double vegetables" is presented to me . I can quite clearly see that there are not double vegetables as the plate appears largely vacant . The waiter states , that yes this is double , however he can get me another side . ( It turned out he doubled the wrong individuals order). The steak was ordered medium rare , but it was barely medium and the blue cheese , well that was no more than a pathetic handful of crumbles. Additionally , all dinners were supposed to come with bread / dinner rolls but those never arrive either. Conveniently , there was no manager to be found to address these issues with . During diner , my girlfriend ordered a mixed drink . It required 3 prompts from him in order to get the drink , and when it finally arrived it was incorrect, and she had to go the bar to correct it . When we were finished with dinner , the checks were brought out and not unsurprisingly they were calculated incorrectly. My friends and I settled the discrepancy amongst ourselves rather than spend any more time in this establishment . To put it quite bluntly , I will never dine at this restaurant again as the service was unacceptable and the prices are unbelievable for what you end up receiving. Perhaps it was just a bad personal experience, but it is one that I will not be forgetting anytime soon and has permanently tarnished my experience in Hanover.

Travelling for work from Alabama and always try to eat local. Sometimes it's a total bust, but this time I nailed it... or better yet, they nailed it! Great food! Fun, clean, and well maintained from the front door to the dining area to the bathroom. The wait staff was very pleasant and fun to talk to, and never let my drink get half way gone (sitting at a restaurant with an empty glass annoys me). It was also Tuesday night, so it was trivia night, which might annoy some patrons, but to me it was better than watching TV! The crowd was involved and the DJ done an excellent job on playing the right music at the right time. If I'm ever back in Hanover, this is where you'll find me!

What a surprise. We were out and about and stopped in for dinner after running some errands. The food was great and the service was even better. They have a good craft beer selection. I would have taken a picture of my ribeye but I devoured it. Same went for my wife and the swordfish special she got. Definitely glad we found this place for whenever we go to Hanover.

Saturday night at 5:45. Was extremely busy. Used call ahead seating. Got seated fairly fast. Waitress was the slowest around. Tables all around us ( with different waitress) were getting food much faster. Took 45 min. to 1 hr to get clams casino and two soups for appetizer. At one point, thought maybe waitress had been abducted, didn't see her for long period of time. 2+ hour dining experience. Maybe ok at upscale New York restaurant but not in Hanover, PA. Food was good, however.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant 3 stars is because our server was amazing. I believe her name was Asht but I'm not 100% sure but she was amazing. The food on the other hand wasn't even diner quality. Meals ordered were 2 crab cakes with mashed potatoes the crab cakes were maybe 1 step above diner quality, the mashed potatoes came out cold. 2nd meal was the chicken carbonara and the pasta was hot but the chicken came out cold and so overcooked it couldn't be cut with a knife and fork. 3rd meal ordered was kids pizza I've seen frozen pizza with better quality. 4th meal ordered kids burger and it was burnt. Very disappointed with our $90 meals. Service and Ranch dressing were the only things good at this restaraunt.

Since my wife got a new job, we're not in Hanover much anymore. Staub's was, combined, our favorite place to eat in town. It's her favorite, period, and might be tied for mine depending on mood. We always had great food and great service. It can get crowded and a bit noisy at peak times, but we were usually there at 5 on a Thursday so that didn't matter much. Large selection of bottled beer. Tap rotates things you can't find most places. Multiple times we got extra food, not from mistake, but because we got something like soup right at the bottom of the pot, so they have us the extra that didn't make a full serving, that sort of thing. My server was a townie and was very focused on the usual visitors and making idle chit chat rather than focusing on customers, seating them and getting both their drink and food order. Our server was who was an older woman white woman with glasses and a ponytail. She was very focused on discussing with 3 other patrons at the bar her daughter's underage drinking at another person's house and how she prefers her to drink underage at her home and how her daughter was currently employed at the same business and continued to idly discussing the illegal activity and poor parenting in a loud voice so that other patrons could hear also. I had to ask for refills and actively ask to place my order because this female server was so preoccupied with divulging her parenting story that she wasn't taking care of other patrons including myself. The food was expensive, the servers sucked and apparently they are loud mouths with poor parenting skills. Would not suggest eating here.

NO CHANGING TABLE!! Very frustrated that there’s no changing table in this restaurant - they claim to be family-friendly and have a kids menu, but yet don’t even provide the basic necessities for small children. Had to go to the car and change my child’s diaper. I complained to the staff, and they said they have been complaining to management for a long time about not having a changing table. Will never come back.

I'm torn on this star rating. The serving staff was exceptional. The food was fantastic. When it came out it, it was hot. Here was the problem and the reason for the star rating...It took our table of three one hour and forty five minutes to get our food. I finally went to tell our server to forget it and cancel our order and just at that time the food was coming out. I guess the gist is if you have the time go and enjoy the wonderful food. If you are in a hurry don't bother. The server was kind and felt bad so he sent us home with two slices of dessert.

Update June 16 2018: Waited 30 minutes for a burnt burger with a rock hard bun and the place wasn't even full. The craft beers are incredibly expensive, most are around $8-$10, even for draft. I'm hoping this was an off night maybe? Because I've had the same burger here before and it was amazing. Though that doesn't have anything to do with the crazy beer prices. Probably won't write the place off entirely but it will definitely be a few months before I consider going back again. Original review: The menu is kinda on the small side but the food is definitely good and there are a lot of good craft beers to choose from. The new renovations were much needed and give the place a more open and modern feel.

We drove from Baltimore on Father's Day to try the brunch at a friend's recommendation. There were 9 of us, two families, and we are foodies. Let me just say... It was delicious! Absolutely worth the drive! Crab dip - flavorful and a great mix of crab to cheese. Pretzels were great if a bit salty for some Crab/Avocado Benedicts, Stuffed French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Plain Cheese Omelet, onion soup, and Waffles were ALL perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Trust me... I'm brutally honest in reviews and there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. Not one. Oh... And did I mention the Bloody Mary bar? We will certainly be back... Going to try dinner. Service was impeccable too.
