I came here last night with my client. We were informed of a 35-40 min wait time by the host but we waited anyway. It was my first time here so I said long wait time means great food. I was right. My client was impatient (and I apologize for her behavior) but when we received our food she was happy. We both took food home. They brought her salad instead of the fries she asked for but when we mentioned it they brought out a whole plate of fries and let her keep the salad. I had sweet potato fries as well and they are by far the best fries I've ever had. They were hot and crisp and had great flavor. The sauce that comes with it is amazing! I'm definitely going to be a regular here.

Our usual "diner" (Pumpernick's) was packed the day after Christmas so we decided to give this place a try because it was right around the corner. The menu is big and the food was decent but I probably won't be back because of the service. I arrived with my child and let the hostess know that we would be a party of 6 but the party wasn't here yet and we would wait. She said it was fine and sat us anyway. After 15 minutes, the other half of my party still didn't arrive and the hostess came back and gave us an attitude because she said it had "been awhile.' Yes, I understand that, which is why I offered to wait. Our server wasn't any better. She acted like a simple request such as a beverage refill was an inconvenience. Upon leaving, we asked to speak to a manager and a woman in server clothes came out to speak to us so who knows if she was really the manager.

The food here is amazing. They also give you a bread dish when you first sit down. While sometimes this can be cold and unappetizing when it’s warm, it’s the most delicious bread. Every time I go I usually get the Crab cake Mac and cheese. This dish is absolutely delicious. You can also get breakfast all day I believe. I recommend the French toast, it’s the perfect balance of bread and cinnamon. Overall I recommend this restaurant 100%.

Made reservations for booth but seated at regular table 10 min. late. Wait staff was a relay of people all rushed and unavailable as drinks were ordered. We seemed to get a genuinely unhappy reaction after asking for bread plates when bread baskets were slung onto the table. Finally, for food order, one wait person was involved but was barely available after food came up. Second glasses of wine were desired, ordered but took so long that we cancelled them. Food is good here and place is busy ... wait staff left us wanting to have made a different choice.

Clean, nice staff, I diner menu with significant variability, but a higher quality. Anything from a fajita bowl to Pad Thai, burgers and flat breads, and a decent selection of beer and wine. Navigation directions aren't accurate as it is in a little hideaway in ther back of the parking lot of Cosco, but worth the hunt.

My wife and I had a rare opportunity to go out together tonight. So we went to the Metropolitan (which we have been to in the past) but we were fortunate enough to get Aaron for our server! Well that was amazing. The waffle that came on the Corque Madam dish was the best I've had. Pancakes were soft and delicious. The home fries were thin cut and cripsy. Sooo good. The kids meals are $6 which includes a drink, meal, and dessert. The kids pancakes are enough for 2 kids under 5 to share. Service was great.

We went as a group of 8, for dinner. Reservations were made the day before with no issue. The table was ready when we arrived. The atmosphere is nice as well as the staff. When looking at the menu it was apparent that there was a good variety of food to choose from. The portions are very generous, the food was wonderful. I highly recommend you give this place a try. P.S- the prices are very reasonable.

Everything we ordered was fresh, creative and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, the servers didn't forget us and the menu is extensive. We were four adults who ordered 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and a few drinks. Total bill was $85. The kitchen sets a high standard. I would definitely return.

This is definitely a gem. The menu is literally endless. If you have picky eaters this is a great place to go because there is so many different options to choose from.(Pasta, wraps, mac and cheese, breakfast...) I cannot believe I've only been here a hand full of times. I will most definitely will be back and will bring my friends and family. Service- awesome out waitress had some great suggestions Food- yummy (I ordered the Mediterranean chicken!! omg sooo good ) Cleanliness- yes everything looked good to me

This is a very elegant place. Very extensive menu. Prices are higher than a decent meal at a less fancy place, but not overly so. My wife and I were able to get vegan meals. We got the Asian bowls. Very good. Took half of it home. Not sure if price allows a weekly visit, but certainly every other week. We will be going back.

I chose this location for our son’s birthday dinner with a party of 12 the experience was a little underwhelming. Their menu is a small album which I believe probably takes away from the quality of food there is a lot of variety as they do serve breakfast all day and that might be one of the safer options to go with. I wouldn’t recommend the crab dishes, as they were subpar (my sister-in-law returned her’s). Our waitress was nice but the service was definitely a bit slow on our Sunday night visit . Unfortunately we will not be returning.

The place has a nice atmosphere and the bar is great. The wait staff is very friendly and nice. The food was average at best though. I got the fish tacos and it seemed like they were microwaved. The inside of the fish was stone cold and the outside was smoking hot. I'll give them another chance due to the wait staff but not going fish tacos again.

We have been Metro diners for years now and the food is consistently outstanding. The menu is varied and interesting. The sweet potato fries are a must have!! The breakfast sliders are a great way to start the day and the salted caramel pretzel brownies are a great finish to a great meal.

Not the usual diner. Definitely a few steps up from the typical diner selection. Vast selection that changes by season. vegan and gluten free options as well. Staff is friendly and wait time is minimal. Always clean and organized as well.

Was here for a small banquet. Staff was attentive and pleasant. Soup and salad was good. At our table we had steak and (crab) cake, and chicken and vegetable stir fry. The chicken was reported to be good. My steak was tasty but a little tough. I had to cut it up into small pieces. The crab cake was not so good. The mashed potatoes were good and well seasoned and the asparagus was cooked the appropriate amount and tasted very good. Deserts were excellent. Wine was 7.50 per glass. If you come here I would delve a little deeper into the menu. The atmosphere was calm and appropriate for a 2 hour sit down dinner. Coffee was good. There was a good selection of teas. Ice tea was reported to be good. Bon Appetite.

Had such a lovely time coming here for a late lunch with my family. The crab dip was so good! Big pieces of crab and flavorful. I got the spicy noodles with the peanut sauce and it was perfect. Lots of veggies and such a large portion. My husband ordered the blue cheese, mushroom, and bacon fritatta and a side of turkey sausage. He was very pleased with the combination of flavors, especially how gracious they are with the amount of blue cheese. Also, the waitress said the boss lady felt the turkey sausage took too long to get out so they removed the charges from our receipt. Totally unnecessary, but thoughtful! My toddler got the classic Mac and cheese and french fries, always a good choice! The waitress, Ashley, was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. She was sweet and hilarious. TL;DR Food was wonderful. The waitress, Ashley, was magnificent. Will definitely be back.

The last time I ate at this place, I ended up in the ER. It is possible that it was from their food or a bug I had.. I recall the waits here being unusually long for subpar food and I get the sense that the owners probably have minimal experience in the restaurant industry, based on the Montgomery County Inspection Report for food establishments (in this case, Metropolitan, Jan 2019). I had heard about their violations but wanted to check up on them before I returned - the atmosphere there is nice; the bar is lovely. I have concluded that I will not return to the Metropolitan, and if I do, it may be just for cocktails, if that. You, should go at your own risk; but I encourage you to read the inspection report. This place has 14 violations!!! Six of them are in the category of "Foodborne Illness Risk Factors". I believe I got sick because of the uncleanliness of the place and the fact that the management is very lazy when it comes to hygiene. Here is one violation noted from the Montco Inspection Report on Metropolitan: "..4 gallons of 2% milk with a sell by date of 01/23/2019 observed in walk-in refrigerator. Facility voluntarily discarded all 4 gallons during inspection. " The inspection was conducted on 1/25/2019!!! And... "4-601.11(B) and ( C ): Equipment, Food-Contact Surfaces, Nonfood-Contact Surfaces, and Utensils Mold-like growth observed in fan guard in refrigerator portion of 2 door over/under refrigerator at cook's line. Mold and expired milk. I will say the employees are polite, and once I enjoyed a very delicious meatloaf. I sure hope they have cleaned up the place. And I seriously hope they stop placing their customer's health in danger with all of these violations. You would expect to see this number of violations at a fast-food restaurant, but not a place like this.. Be careful.. and don't be afraid to ask about those violations!

I've lived in this area my whole life. Ever since this restaurant opened I have been a regular. I try so many different restaurants in the area weekly and I ALWAYS come back here. The food is always excellent. The bartenders there are extremely nice and make you feel comfortable, also they make great drinks .The best part is their consistentcy in quality. You can order a $7 sandwich and it will be fantastic or you can order a $30 seared tuna and it will be one of the best you've had .They nailed it. Expect to make dinner reservations on weekends. Come early it fills up quick.

The Metropolitan menu is diverse and varied. This is an elevation of the diner to much higher level. The good quality is excellent. We had dinner specials, dinner entrees and all day breakfast. The happy hour prices were enticing. The drink menus and choices were diverse. 6$ grey goose martinis at happy hour was one example of the great deals they have. I will be back soon despite the distance.

They offer smaller portions, which is great. Most of the food is better than your standard diner food. The Salmon dishes has been surprisingly good on 3 occasions, the pesto pasta pretty good, avoid the sliders, burgers have no flavor at all. Good food, good drinks. Cheesesteak egg rolls are among the best. I’m convinced, however, that they do not know how to cook chicken. Regardless of the chicken dish you order, it WILL it overcooked. It’s worse when it’s a breaded chicken dish, like chicken parm or bonesless chicken wings...the chicken is so overcooked the inside gets that “hay-like” texture.

When I received check she had added a 18% gratuity on the bill which was less then $50 and it was only myself and 2 children. I've never seen this before. Food wasn't good at all. OUTSTANDING PLACE!!! First time there for six of us. First, we made reservations and actually got right in - on time and seated. Get the heck out - make a reservation and NOT get told " it will be 10 minutes or so". Impressive. I can't say enough about the young lady who took care of us - Patty. So polite, upbeat and very professional!! Service was, again I must say, OUTSTANDING!! Now to the food - OUTSTANDING!! Are you sick of hearing the word " OUTSTANDING" yet. Too bad. I am telling you this is a great place to go to and enjoy really great service, food and price! We are definitely going back!! Enjoyable breakfast with my daughter. We were presented with two banana nut muffins upon being seated. She had hot chocolate and the cheesesteak omelette. I had excellent coffee and the Pearl Sugar Belgium Waffle Croque Madame. While I do enjoy sweet and savory together, I found the waffles to be excessively sweet. Both platters came with an ample amount of thinly sliced fried potatoes. I especially like that breakfast is available at all hours.

Husband and I enjoyed a quick dinner out before a little Christmas shopping ... and the Metropolitan is a place we always enjoy. Tonight was no exception. The place was very full but we only waited about 5-10 minutes to get seated. Service was not exceptional but it was fine. The variety of their menu dishes, the fact it is all local-sourced, the ability to eat breakfast all day, and the unique daily specials make it a regular spot for us. Partner had a lobster ravioli dish he enjoyed but my meal was the better of the two. I had the Cajun battered fish tacos -- and we both loved them! Nice flavor with some Complimentary bread is always appreciated but they changed their herb-infused loaf into a brioche (?) type loaf and it wasn't as tender or flavorful. Overall, it was a good dinner and we will be back, as always.

Hostess just told my husband and I we cannot sit at the half empty bar because the bartender isn't doing so well. So instead of giving us the chance to wait it out since we were in no rush. We were told we need to get a table instead. We drove the 37 min. to have a drink and soup and sit at the bar. So now we will be finding a new place to spend our money and enjoy our time together.

Been here multiple times, but never on a friday night. I'm really disappointed with their service. They lost our name on the wait list and had to remind them they we still needed to be seated. Ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes just to be seated in the bar area. Otherwise food was good. I'd recommend avoid this place when its busy.

Great craft beer specials on Sunday's. Their food is consistently good. I love that I can get their lunch specials at anytime of the day. I almost always leave with leftovers, even with their lunch portions. My favorite is their vodka chicken penne, but I've never had a bad meal here. It's the kind of place where I'm willing to try something I don't usually eat, like meat loaf, and love it! Service is always wonderful, as well!

The food is less than average. No one in my party was satisfied with their meals. My salmon was not fully cooked in the middle. The steamed broccoli tasted awful in soy sauce. I went there for pancakes in the recent past and even that was not good. It's always crowded there so maybe we are not ordering the right foods. The positives are the general atmosphere and that there is a gluten free menu. Would advise going elsewhere.

We really like the metro. Big portions I almost always leave with extra. Good food. Lots of options. My kids like it they have crayons and coloring stuff.

I hadn't been to the Metropolitan in a few years, and back then I thought it was a nice place to eat. However the menu didn't have a wide variety of dishes to choose from that I would enjoy. This time I went with people from work, and I was pleasantly surprised to find several options that I could choose from. I will definitely be returning to try some of the other dishes! The belgian waffle croque madame was delicious!

Beautiful warmy atmosphere, very clean and great customer service! Food was delicious! Even when we had a reservation and it was packed. It took no longer than 10 minutes to sit all 50 of us!
