Holy cow this place is good. The Rubicon Mule was fantastic, such great flavor profiles. The steak is great. The accompanying potatoes are not great. I certainly suggest substituting them out. Honestly, the steak is so large, you won't even need to worry about the side item.

Went there to celebrate getting engaged. Requested a table, and the waitress brought us 2 free glasses of champagne and said congratulations which was not expected or asked for but it was so kind! She took the time from her busy shift to make us feel special and welcome and asked about our engagement. I was really flattered by the friendly, prompt, and professional yet personal service of the staff. The food....OH...MAhhhhh....Goodness so good! Ive never had a kitchen or a bar tender get quality food and drinks to me that fast! Second story of resturaunt is awesome. If you're considering between this place and another....pick this place. It's awesome!

My boss brought me here to discuss a company issue. We sat on the upper tier. I could barely concentrate. The food was so good, the restaurant so beautiful.

Yongguk Is Ultimate Daddy

Very nice mood and ambiance for close friends, family, or romance. And food was prepared well. Music not overpowering (Sorry for the photos, we're not a really "Take pictures before eating" bunch) For appetizers, I ordered the Pommes Frites Poutine. The fries were very crispy and the cheese curds were great. Maybe needed more gravy. The fries are very very thin and crispy. If you prefer fries with a chewy inside, this might disappoint you. My entree was the Beouf Bourgignon. The meat falls apart so beautifully and though the potatoes were slightly dry, why were seasoned great. The veggies on top were cooked well. And it all still tasted great the next morning. Everyone else ordered the Poulet Colombo (beautifully cooked veggies, though a on traditional spin on basmati), Saumon, and a house special (Ribs fell right off the bone and it has crepes. Cannot get better than that. Dessert was a chocolate lava cake. Perfect amount of cake to liquid ratio. Reasonably priced for a fancy night out and I went home stuffed and satisfied.

Michael Alvarez

Food was excellent as well as the service and the ambiance was to die for.

This is my favorite happy hour spot! Amazing food, great drinks, and good beer on tap. The dollar happy hour oysters are fresh and fantasic. Highly recommended!!

Rubicon is an incredible gastronomic experience in Harrisburg! Sitting at the bar, you can fully take in the dazzling ambiance, as well as experience the wonderful service of their skilled bartenders. The cocktails are varied, unique, and delicious! However, the star will always be the delectable food, the highlight of the night. I would highly recommend Rubicon to anyone in the Harrisburg area, as well as their sister restaurants, Suba & Mangia Qui.

MARTIN IRVIN

Two thumbs way up! The food is perfection, and the service is wonderful. The owners make regular visits to the dining room, and actually served our main course on multiple occasions. Meeting them was all my pleasure, and we will definitely make another visit the next time we are in the area.

Erik Tanner

It was a mutual meeting place for three different groups looking to spend Easter together. There was a limited brunch menu for Easter; however, there was plenty to choose and all of the items were very interesting and different. The only knock was the Espresso machine was out of service. We got some great desserts anyway, but those wanting cappuccinos and espressos were out of luck! In general, the food and service was excellent; I'm glad it was not disappointing after my three hour trip from NY. If ever back in Harrisburg, I would definitely eat here again.

Greatest ever.

My boyfriend and I went there for dinner on a Thursday night. I loved our sever. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We had the french onion , turtle soup and I believe a artichoke soup. Very good.

Went tonight, Thursday, for an event and we tried a few drinks and appetizers! Such a beautiful place with great staff who are very knowledgeable about the menu items and drinks.

Barry Snyder

As a foody who frequents 5- star restaurants, I can say without hesitation the Branzino was TRULY the finest preparation I have every had anywhere.

Mike Scheib

I have never been able to eat at this restaurant, but not for a lack of trying. Every time we took time to drive into the city to eat here they were closed for private parties. Our third try was our last and final attempt. The first of these failed dinner dates the hostess let us stand at her podium occasionally looking over from a table she was serving before telling us they were closed for a private party, but not before we waited for close to 10 minutes. There was no sign indicating the closure and the door was unlocked.

Chrylann Fons

Unique food offerings that are well prepared.

Erin Geraci

13 for $12 raw oysters for happy hour. Interesting take on French cuisine.

John Deiter

Excellent brunch. Great staff and venue

Reagan Reynolds

French food and the setting here is excellent. Good place to relax and unwind. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. This place has a good design.

Emily Zeigler

Our office is taken to a surprise restaurant location every year and this year we ended up at Rubicon! This place has an awesome atmosphere and really neat decor. The waiter and waitresses were great! We got to sit upstairs and had a view of the Capitol right outside the window! The food... the food was outstanding! I got the Faux Pho and you should definitely add the siracha and all the garnishings! Also, one of the others in the group ordered the porterhouse! Oh... my... word... to die for! When they say steak can melt in your mouth... this steak literally melted in your mouth! Phenominal! Thank you Rubicon!

Douglas Preston

Dinner was outstanding. The fava bean appetizer was creative and delicious. For the main course, my spouse has the N.Y. strip steak topped with caramelized onions and tarragon; we were totally spoiled and don't think we'll ever want N.Y. strip steak served any other way. I had the duck in bechamel; it was delicious, and almost too rich, but it was perfectly paired with a salad that included bitter greens. Our server, Drew, made the recommendation for the duck-salad combination and was both friendly and attentive during the meal. I heartily recommend Rubicon.

Nuk's New

We went here for date night and I have never been so breath taken in my life from the ambiance, the food and the vibe. It was Puerto Rico night and all the dishes on the menu were Spanish. Being half- Puerto Rican, this was so exciting and even more heart warming to know that some of the proceeds went to help the current crisis. Enough of that and back to the food; I had the red snapper, rice and yuca mash. My fiance had rice and shrimp served in a pineapple (cute) We've been out to eat hundreds of times and always bring home leftovers. Let it be known that this past Friday there were no left overs. None. The chocolate tres leche cake was to die for. I've been praying that another night like this will occur in the future the food was amazing!! And if not, know that this will be our favorite dinner spot!!

Steven Crossin

Fantastic food and service.

Christine Vasiliades

The devine picture of Buttermilk pancakes, fresh mango and pineapple, macadamia nut brittle and chantilly cream I saw on their Facebook page made me get dressed and run right over for brunch! ( my server asked if I purposely matched my clothes to my meal)

Leo

Great food. Excellent decor. Good drinks. We'll come again. Brooke was excellent.

Justine Brill

Every plate we ordered was fantastic! Couldn't beat the happy hour special of $5 a glass of wine and $1 oysters, we took the bartenders recommendation on what to order and she led us in the right direction. I really enjoy French food to begin with, now I want more. I would absolutely try this out if you're in the area.

Monica Perez

Had their Coquille St-Jacques (sauteed Bay scallops, shallots, Kennett square mushrooms, Gruyere in light cream), Saumon (Roasted Scottish Salmon) and their chocolate dessert. Their portions were small, but so TASTY, you didn't mind. Great place to celebrate an anniversary or take a date. My complements to the chef!

Marc Tenan

Outstanding food. Great service. Recommend sitting upstairs.

Judy Riddell

Great food my son is the chef

Trish Frintzilas Frey

Awesome food

Mike Lehman

Really neat looking inside! Food was ok, not great. I don't know. Maybe I should have just chosen something else.

Scott Hodgson

Would be nice if they had more happy hr drinks . Love the oysters

Tina Slater

Beautiful place to eat. The atmosphere is so elegant, the food is to die for and the wait staff is impeccable. One of the best French restaurants I have ever tried. I can't wait to go back again.

Miracle cooper

Very nice! Waiters are pleasant! Food and drinks are great! Some might say pricey but worth it!

Mary Klaus

Experienced Shucked oyster @happy hour are a good deal, was little underwhelmed with order scallops. Might have read menu wrong thou.

Brian Bowser

Went to Rubicon for date night with my wife. Great food, interesting cocktails and a really nice atmosphere. Why only 3 stars? Our server was inattentive and barely even superficially friendly at best. It was a relatively slow Sunday night so maybe she was just unhappy she wouldn't be raking in the tips or having a bad day, but that shouldn't matter, especially at a restaurant representing itself to be top caliber. Instead of going through all of the details, I'll just say what could have been an exceptional experience was a disappointment. The other server seemed top notch and we loved everything else about our visit, so although not in any hurry to visit again, I think we'll eventually give Rubicon another try.

Andrew Wong

Great food, nice ambience. Good menu choices and French wine selection. Prices very reasonable for the menu and selection of wines. Would easily pay much more in other metro areas. A great find.

Jeremiah Chamberlin

Beautiful restaurant with amazing menu.

Jacqueline Schindele

"The best Croque Monsieur you'll ever have" didn't even come served with ham! And it wasn't just my order, same thing happened with the table next door. Drinks took a while to come to the table. Food didn't take too long, I wouldn't classify the menu as strictly French but more French inspired. The servers are nice but a little awkward and shouldn't hype up the food as much as they do. The music playing did not fit the environment they're trying to establish.

Andrea Mac

This restaurant is a gem.

kelly fisher

Amazing food, drinks, staff, and ambience! My favorite restaurant in the area.

Daphne Moore

Classy downtown restaurant with interesting flavor combinations and an AMAZING bar selection. Pricey, but a very pleasant dinner, especially for a date night.

steve alexander

Food is extremely good. Need to work on the wine list and the music. Fix those and its a 5!

Zach Feig

Cute atmosphere, good food!

Joanna Rzeszotko

Cathy Pratt

Good spot for delicious French food. It has an awesome atmosphere.

Sarah Meacham

Amazing food! Mussels were huge and broth was delicious. Curry chicken dish was awesome too! Love the atmosphere and decor. Brought clients to dinner there and they liked it. Service was ok not stellar.

Heidi Slack

Always good but the bar is what I love about this place. The food has never disappointed. The staff is friendly without being overly attentive. They have the best burger around

Joy W

Rubicon beef ribs are the best

Les Patton

Great food, wonderful oysters!

Primo Disanto

Outstanding

Tyler Honey

Literally the worst. About an hour 45 for the whole meal, waitress didn't know anything and was out of everything. Complete waste. Bon apei-rather not.

Jason Scanlon

Great food, good atmosphere, perfect service. Thank you for the awesome date night!

Julie Kowalski

It's a little $$$. But the food and atmosphere are nice.

jwtrautman

Slow service. Wrong service. Absolutely terrible first impression. Watched other tables get a server twice thrice.... just want to leave and make the best of this night.

Joel Hansen

French themed restaurant. Had some very good food, quite pricey, however. One of the menu items, labeled as meat and potatoes, is actually steak tartar and a loaf of bread, which was a little off putting

Josh Etterman

delicious

Nils Wendel

Was here for Halloween. Love what they did with the place, putting up a series of 90s commercials on a projector behind the bar and playing 90s hits was pretty great. Can't comment on the food though, didn't have any.

Christina Hoke

Amazing brunch!

Amanda Mize

Great food, great service! Very cozy and good for date night.

dweisspac

Fantastic dinner! Mussels were excellent as an appetizer, entrees were prepared with love. Wine selection was great. Highly recommend Rubicon

Jami Rohland

We were there for a wedding reception this evening. Food was dynamite and the staff were extra friendly. Free valet parking Friday and Saturday nights!

ser david shaulis

Fabulous

Elena B

Really good food and a very nice atmosphere.

Andrew Finkenbinder

French-inspired cuisine and great cocktails. The venue itself is charming, with an open center that provides views between the first and second floors. The staff are friendly, the food is up to the quality of the price tag, and it's within walking distance of much more in downtown and midtown.

Stuart Mcconney

Great atmosphere, great service and the food gets 7/10.

Brian McDaid

We had a private party here. Very fun venue and the bartenders were great

Tony Moore

The food was great but the waitress wasn't cool at all. Just sort of pretentious in a way that made me want to trip her and pretend I didn't. She also, and this really got under all of our skin, didn't mention that gratuity was included in our bill (due to our party having 6 people), so everyone added a tip until one of us caught it. It was new year's eve, and you just know she thought people would be drunk enough not to notice and she'd make double tips all night. Probably did, but not from us.

Bob Barnard

A wonderful experience, friendly staff anticipated our needs, a hidden gem!

Shawn Price

Angela Shuler

Best mussels in town!!! Excellent food!! Superior service!!

Susan Tatge

Decedent food, great specials at happy hour, friendly service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Jason Hing

Great food, fresh oysters - happy hour special, cozy atmosphere, everything we ordered was delicious. If I am back in Harrisburg will visit this restaurant again.

Bobbie Van Buskirk

Rubicon is a nice place to enjoy a quite night out. I would love to see them add a very basic meals, they try to add some many flavors that it's hard to select if you have food allergies and dislikes. The food is always flavorful and taste but very limited

Rick Marks

Very nice bar tender

Norris Waddell

I can't say enough good stuff about this place. The food is great, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff has always been attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The beer list isn't great, stick to the cocktails and wine selection.

Vinayak Sparrow

Great service. Knowledgeable staff who actually know what's going on with the food.

Always amazing!

I would give this more stars if I could. Ambience service presentation all top notch. Waiter was excellent. Was supposed to meet a friend but he wound up at the hospital. I have had a couple of stressful weeks so decided to go out anyway and dine alone. I ordered a lot and took a lot home that was my game plan. Charcuterie was excellent but menu said it had pate on it. It did not. Still it was great especially the dollop of country mustard. Next was a Nicoise salad. Nicely presented , fresh, crisp ingredients, and not thank goodness overwhelmed with dressing. I could taste each individual ingredient. Then the escargot. This was the only dish that I finished. Everything else that I got I took half of it home. If you get the escargot you would understand why I ate it all. It was heaven on a plate. Goat cheese spread in a thin crust of bread with escargot and mushrooms all In a garlic Herb sauce. Unbelievable. I finished with the steak frites. I ordered it medium rare. It was perfectly seasoned tender a not one scrap of fat on it. The pommes frites were outstanding and needed nothing except a little pepper. I like savory food so I finished my meal there no dessert no coffee. I did order a drink. I got a chantilly tini. This is the only negative to the whole evening. The description said it was pear, absinthe, and champagne. It tasted like they poured half a bottle of absent in the glass and added no other ingredients. Hopefully someone will see this and will change the recipe. It was awful. But that's one small thing compared to how incredible the food was. This is easily my favorite restaurant in Harrisburg I have been many times. I urge you to make it 1 of yours as well

Yann Wester

Eggs benedict, for brunch, a must

Richard Abel III

Ernie Schreiber

Excellent menu prepared with quality food, gracious service, reasonable prices, especially at happy hour.

Jeffrey Horgan

Great service and food. A real gem

Dina Pope

As a French person, I enjoyed tasting some cuisine of my homeland! Very good service, nice ambiance! I recommend it!

PA Moomaw

Went here for dinner with friends. Every dish we tried was superb- onion soup ( not salty tasting, just great flavor with a little ham and cheese sandwich-lette on the side), mussels, that famous beef dish that I can't spell along with the salad special and dessert. Wait staff are knowledgeable and proud to work here, which tells you a lot. The building is full of character and quirks+ a wonderful experience overall.

Peter Wilson

I go several times a year for brunch. It's always excellent, frequently amazing, and not infrequently perfect. Service can be slow at times, but it's worth the occasional wait. The room is gorgeous, also.

Eric Selvey

Beautiful dining area with a unique menu of food items and drinks delivered by a friendly wait staff

Elisabeth Casale

Excellent food and menu plus atmosphere

Gregory Kauffman

Delicious cocktails. Attentive and professional staff. Excellent oysters.

Mohammed Raj

Stunning restaurant. True professionals, the waiter treated us perfectly. The food was beautiful and high end. A truly lovely place.

Nissa Kelly

This place has the best food in the city, always fresh, always delicious. The service is top notch, they always go above and beyond.

Liam Darr

Great chic atmosphere and some excellent French inspired entrees. Interesting selection of shellfish and seafood dishes, unique to the central PA area. Classic steak frites and American burger. Great cocktail selection. The purple rain is highly recommended.

Drea Anandi

My favorite brunch spot. Drinks and food are always fantastic. The space is absolutely gorgeous. Service is top notch.

Jenn W

This place is beautiful inside, but we found the food to be somwhat average. We got escargot as an appetizer & we both chose the lobster roll. For us, in the future, it would be a cool place for drinks! But we would probably choose to have dinner somewhere else.

Timothy Beveridge

Excellent food, great staff.

Patricia Carey

Great service by Alex and delicious food.

Sean M. Kelly

Great experience!

Joshua Meyer

Fun times as always.

Jeffrey Labe

The oysters were great but the service was abysmal. It took over forty minutes to get 18 oysters and 3 oyster shooters. Then we sat with our check until I took it up to the bar to cash out. Not sure what was going on but it got to the point where we felt like we were being held hostage.

SueB 360

Enjoy the fantastic drinks

Tracy Horgan

Awesome place. Great food and atmosphere. We'll be back!

MeChelle Hawkins

Delicious food, service was great. Nice atmosphere. Parking was confusing though.

Chris Hicks

Terrific staff and service. Great food and atmosphere.

tuxnader

Always have a great meal and service here. The raw oyster Happy Hour is always a must and the Miche cannot be beat. If you're going to spend the time and money to eat out you cannot go wrong with Rubicon.

Brandon Ozard

The food is good and the service is excellent.

nolongerinserviceify

Nice staff. Great atmosphere! Good food!

Corey Kurz

Joan Eckard

This is one of my very favorite restaurants! Kind of expensive, but well worth it!

The Oncoming Storm

Very nice restaurant. The food was delicious. They had Foxy Panda as the DJ tonight. I would suggest you dress appropriately for this restaurant...at least a button down shirt if not a coat as well.

stephanie yingling

The best restaurant in Harrisburg. Great oyster happy hour, fun nights with live music, and spectacular food.

William Butler

Very cool atmosphere and is great for a nice night out. Menu is generally french and while my and my wife's dishes were good, they weren't outstanding enough to warrant the high price. Would I recommend this place to friends? Yes, but with reservations (and I don't mean hold-a-table). Will I return? Maybe if there are some interesting menu changes or I get some sort of coupon to make up for the price/expectations discrepancy.

Valerie Hubbard

The food, atmosphere and staff are top notch.

Isaac Hayes

Great food and fanatic atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more date nights

Joe Leopold

Fantastic menu. Excellent service and wonderful drinks!

John Larrabee

This is an ambitious and stylish venue for a city that isn't known for culinary panache. The two story design with seating upstairs around a railing that opens to the bar below is nicely lit. The food is imaginative French bistro fare with fancy cocktails and a small but pricey wine list. Oysters and cave ripened cheese for apps, then a coconut curry chicken and pork cutlet for mains, then oddly latin desserts like Tres Leches and Flan. The final result is surprisingly satisfying, but there are nagging issues. Getting the food and drinks upstairs seems to take a long time, and food can be tepid once it reaches you. The upstairs veranda is a tad too narrow, so the wait staff must navigate very close to the tables and dodge each other.. The final result is frenetic and not too relaxing. The kitchen and bar seemed overwhelmed on the busy night we were there. Still, for sleepy Hburg, it's a very good choice. Perhaps unlike the famous namesake in San Francisco, this Rubicon will last - be like Caesar and cross the Susquehanna to try it!

Christine Reinhardt

Awesome!

Jme Jazzi Welsh

Brook was our Server, and she was wonderful! Great Happy Hour Raw Oysters! Steamed clams were delicious too. Happy Hour wine for $5 a glass! Awesome, great french choices. Loved my frisee salad, but my boyfriend didn't love his sliders, so Brook took it off of our bill with no questions asked! Her kind efforts were tipped upon. Thanks Brook, I'd love to come back for another dinner when I find myself in Harrisburg. Also, located right across the capital and makes a nice post dinner walk around town on a hot summer day.

rapmantheoneman

Must have caught them in a very bad night- after reading reviews, this was a place I had to check out ( visiting Harrisburg for my first time)-But from the time we got here- found out they were out of multiple food options— this being only told to us after we were waiting for quite some time on the original orders. Manager offered an alternative then said she would make it happen- but later found out they were also out of the alternative- but she never came back to let us know they were out- no apology. When we requested for certain for things to be done- such as no cheese in soup- it came with cheese any way. Waiter never checked in to see if I needed more drinks. The worst- it’s cool that it’s next to the the capital but not worth the money- clearly not fine dining- I would not recommend if you happen to be in Harrisburg. This place is a dive- but again, might have caught them in on a very bad night. Waiter drops off check and no thank you for coming and no asking about how the meal was- We’re all entitled to that (I guess)

Dawn Happney

Mitchell is the best!!!

Katie H

Fantastic food and service. We had a party of 6, 2 of which were vegan. The kitchen created special dishes in line with dietary restrictions that were more than just salad or a pasta. The regular menu offers a wide variety of delicious foods that cater to any palate. Definitely one of our favorite places!

David Daigle

Oh, yes. So good on all levels -- food, service, ambience. I need not say more. Addition by subtraction

Liz Casale

Really good food and drink and service! in a comfortable way in Harrisburg. Especially Sundays , 2-6!!!

Dane Wallace

Three hours from start to finish which would have been fine if the food was hot and tasty...unfortunately it was neither. The Good: atmosphere is very rustic chic and comfortable. The Meh: waiter forgot to place appetizer orders, said "they were missed," had to repeatedly request items (such as refills, silverware), dirty plates remained on the table for long periods of time and water bottles not refilled...some of the basic tenants of good service. They need to learn to deliver an experience not just food... The Ugly: I ordered steamed clams for an apetizer, a quarter of which were unopened and the remainder were stone cold. Over an hour and a half later, the faux pho arrived which was luke warm and had 3 pieces of beef in it...one of which was a hunk of fat. It was the most bland and unappealing soup I have ever eaten. Four spoon fulls later, I decided I would rather go home hungry than continue. The waiter asked me if I wanted a box...seriously? Within a span of 3 hours I had 8 steamed clams and some soup...don't you think to ask if everything was Ok? Guess not. Verdict: Will not return.

Marcus LaManna

Good food, drinks and service!

Jason Brenner

We went last night for dinner. The food was great as always but the service was horrible. It took 40 minutes just to give our dinner orders. The manager asked us to be patient because they were short staffed, which was not our fault. Every table was full with reservations. They knew they would be crowded so why not call someone in or pull someone from the 2 restaurants they own next door. They screwed up our drink orders, repeatedly. When I attempted to talk to the bartender, Brooke, she was extremely rude to me as if it was my fault she made an old fashioned wrong twice. Completely disappointed with our dining experience. I don't think I'll ever go back. There are many great restaurants that have better service in Harrisburg.

MJ deCoen
