We have all the reviews of people who consumed the products of Masala Bistro (Restaurant) in the state of Pennsylvania.
At present the business receives a score of 4.0 out of 5 and that rating is based on 390 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite good, and it is founded on a high number of reviews, so we may think that the rating is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
One star, yes!! Wish I could give lesser. Horrible service. Racist treatment. Food quality is worst. Not sure how this place is getting 4 star rating. Went there once and was big mistake of my life. Never going back again.
Super quick service, large portion size, great prices, and the staff is very friendly. The mango lassi is awesome, and you can ask for more heat if you enjoy that kind of thing. It's small, but it feels cozy and it definitely has a "date night" vibe.
Cant beat the prices and the food is delicious!
My boyfriend and another couple went there for dinner at 7pm. The waitress seemed very nice at first but soon our opinions about the restaurant changed. We were not served our food until 850pm. We tried explaining that the almost two hour wait was too long and we were leaving. She insisted our food was ready and going to be out. Our friend ordered a soda and didn't receive it for an hour. I ordered the Mango Salad with the rest of my dinner and never received that either. There were 2 large (6 to 10 people each) families that came in after us by 30 mins and they received their dinners before us. I do not plan on going back. There was no compensation for the wait. The food is alright.
Delicious food and friendly service. We felt very welcome. The prices are reasonable and they have a good selection of dishes. We ordered off the menu. Do try their masala tea—it’s delicious and refreshing!
Best Indian food I have ever tried. Has been my favorite Indian restaurant for the last 6 years. Great place to bring friends for a new gastronomic taste. Best food selection is weekends as they also have lamb.
I have visited every Indian restaurant in Central PA and this is by far the best. If you are visiting the area and like this food, it is a must go for the buffet.
Awful service. We waited an hour for our food and were over charged. The staff is unfriendly and rude. Awful experience all around. Would not recommend.
Delicious food and friendly staff
Awesome, fresh, authentic cuisine
Average Indian food not great but not awful
This is the best indian food in the area. The buffet is great and the regular menu is just as good.
One of our favorite restaurants. Food always good and service friendly.
Excellent Indian food. So sad to be leaving Lemoyne. Gonna miss this place.
The food and service here are excellent. I have gone for the lunch buffet and for supper. It's not fancy but I've never been disappointed by my meal.
Absolutely love the food here. My bffs and I always have a relaxing delicious wonderful time here. Highly recommend!
I would like to rate this place in negative. My kid was urgently needed to go to toilet but the lady owner here didn’t allowed us unless we buy something. The owner SHOULD BE AWARE THAT BY LAW RESTAURANTS CAN NOT DENY USAGE OF RESTROOM.
Last Saturday we had a small party with masala bistro we all tried fish or shrimp with cold weather awesome arrangement thanks to masala bistro
Good spot for lunch or dinner. Perhaps a few less options on the lunch buffet than some other, larger places offer, but what they have is good. I especially enjoyed the saag paneer. Service is attentive but laid-back; atmosphere is casual.
Exceptional service and amazingly fresh food!
Weekday lunch buffet is great and cheap. Spice level is wayyy less that traditional Indian food to suit the tastes of the area but still has the other tasty flavors that you get from Indian food. It's a culinary miracle!
Great deal on the lunch buffet. The food is good. Convenient location.
We came in late from out of town and were looking for a place to eat. We got there after closing and instead of turning us away they invited us in and let us order food to take out. I don't know if that's just the way businesses are around here but it's a characteristic you don't see much nowadays. The food was good and would definitely try again.
Really Great food. Better than Passage to India.. The best dal ( lentils) I have ever had.. Nice variety of desserts too. I am there once a week. !!
Great Indian food, buffet is amazing. Been going here for a while.
Very bad service.... dirty tables.....desserts are badddd
A smaller selection of buffet items than most Indian restaurant offer, but amazing quality and service.
Lamb chops for very good. The na'an bread and butter chicken was fabulous.
Decent buffet for reasonable price. Went there for a lunch buffet over weekday. Good options for appetizers and main menu. Desert options were weak. Gulab Jamun were refried. Kadi pakora was really good. Dal makhani was good too. Tandoori chicken didn’t seem fresh. Almost all buffet places I have noticed the same for tandoori chicken. Service was prompt. Overall good experience.
Always very good! They have a great lunch buffet and when we pick up dinner it is always a wonderful treat. The Lamb entree is amazing!
Great place with great food. The staff has been wonderful every time we go. They have even remembered us after just going in a few times. Highly recommend!
Masala Bistro serves the best Indian food in the area, we have eaten at many different places and this is one of our favorites! The owner/chef and the lady who serves the tables are both very polite and friendly. I don't know where the negative reviews come from, we have never had a bad experience there, the food is always fresh too.
Good ambiance... OK food. Could spice up a little.
Amazing Indian food...and I have extensive experience. Any bad reviews for this restaurant on Google are from bitter competitors, who cannot hope to approach their quality. Or, of course, from unenlightened hilbillies who have no idea what Indian food is supposed to taste like. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the service is prompt and efficient.
I dont care abot fod i just want to say greetings to my fellow GUPTAAAAAAAASSSS
LOVE LOVE LOVE the buttered chicken and the rice and milk dessert !! 100% reccomend. Very nice service!
The place has good vibe but I went there for food. First of all it took forever to bring them, and once the food was on table it was reheated.
Delicious food. Excellent service. We will be back again very soon
Good lunch buffet
Very delicious food, and nice customer service Thank you I'll come again with my friends that time
They don’t even deserve to name it a Indian restaurant...They treat indians very cheap..I had a bad experience and then I realized many have the same experience based on reviews..
Excellent food, delightful atmosphere, friendly staff. The butter chicken and the chille chicken are my favorites. If you're unfamiliar with Indian food I recommend you stop by the lunch buffet so you can try a selection of food instead of having to choose one thing from a list of unfamiliar dishes.
Great for lunch buffet (at only 11$). Actually one of my favorite Indian buffet, with homemade Gulab Jamun.
Buffet was good. I probably would have rated it a 5 if it was a little less spicy. Having said that my son and daughter LOVE it. Just a bit warm for us old folks.
Excellent restaurant I really like this place. My kids do too. Fantastic brunch especially on Sunday. We get take out here regularly and the owners are always super friendly and nice. Food is consistently excellent. Love the ambiance of the decor inside as well.
Great Indian food and a wonderful staff. Lunch buffet 7 days a week.
It was very very very good. I absolutely love this place it has GREAT indian food. It was all very authentic and delicious. Not all was spicy which was very good ot semed to be family owned so we are helping local bussinesses. I would highly recomend it wqs also fair price for a buffet. I will say it again everything was greta food, aesthetics, and service.
This place is such a gem! The service is superb and the food is absolutely scrumptious!! They had plenty of vegetarian options as well as some of the best Indian desserts you will ever taste! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lovely buffet at an inexpensive price!!
Great food!! I would highly recommend. I was there last evening and took one of their chicken dishes & rice and some assorted roti and naan home. My wife and I both thought the everything was excellent.
After having stopped in for the lunch buffet today I'm inclined to believe that the 1 star reviews for this restaurant must be fake reviews left by local competitors. This is a wonderful little family run restaurant. The owners were very polite and friendly with every person that came through the door, and the food was excellent with a wide enough selection that I didn't have enough room in my stomach to try all of it. As well, the price was reasonable. I strongly recommend trying them out. I will certainly be eating here again.
Honestly one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. Wonderful atmosphere as well.
Our first time eating at Masala was amazing. The staff were great and explained the menu helping us make our choices. We were grateful they accommodated our party of 8. Our group will be back.
What a fun delicious experience. Went with a Group of friends, most of which never had Indian food before, Sonny, our waiter was so attentive and suggested a sampling of food. He explained all the food we ordered. The best meal and service ever. the food and Sonny made you forget about that. Thank you MASALA BISTRO for a great evening
Had buffet today. Same great quality as the dinner fare. Would recommend.
Worst to Worst Experience. Already heard from so many people about bad experience about this restaurant. But still, Today I tried Veg Buffet. 3 out of 4 veg. dishes were sour and looks old made from so many days. About Sweet Dishes, Kheer( Made of Milke & Rice) was overcooked. Gulab Jamun looks very old. And Gajar Halwa was also sour and looks very old. Never recommend to anyone.
Great tasting food for dinner and amazing service. Has a very nice family owned feel to it. Very good experience!
I was driving from Oregon to NYC and got stuck in snow. Pretty much everything else was closed but I am glad Masala Bistro was open despite the weather. Then, the owner was super friendly and welcoming. He mentioned he was the chef as well and could prepare the dish as according to what I like. I ordered some Garlic naan and some chicken dish. The portion sizes were so awesome that you could take your meal for morning breakfast as well. And of course, Delicious.
Delicious food. Reasonably priced.
There were more choices on the buffet than I expected. The desserts I tried - rice pudding and gulab jamun were excellent.
Rude staff, needs more training on courtesy and hospitality. Very dirty and dusty restaurant. Not returning.
Fabulous. Excellent service and a wide variety of excellent dishes. I went with my wife and 4 kids 9 and under. Everyone was very welcoming.
I wanted to believe the 4 star reviews over the many 1 star reviews for this place... my mistake! We ordered one garlic naan and were served and charged for two, and ordered vegetable pakoras and were served and charged for the appetizer sampler. The server never asked for our spice preference and each item was much spicier than expected. I ordered butter chicken and it tasted like it was tomato soup. A quick google search reveals that using tomato soup is a "cheater" way to make butter chicken. You might expect this at someone's home but not a restaurant claiming to make indian cuisine. Service was decent aside from incorrect charges and a newer employee who kept awkwardly hovering and making eye contact with me while I was eating. The hand calculated bill was also $1.50 more than what we calculated when we put it into our phones and added tax. Overall, bad experience and we will not be back!
Great food and service
First time eating here. Stopped for dinner. I had naan with garlic, raita and chicken tikka masala w/rice. All items were served quickly and very delicious. Portions were generous and more than I should have eaten in one sitting, but I did. Next time, I'll take some home for later. Waitress was attentive and personable. Appears to be a family owned and run restaurant. I would eat here again.
For being on the West shore this is very good Indian Restaurant. As getting a place to sit and eat it's been pretty quick even on weekends during the lunch buffet which they have a lot of good food to pick from which all is very fresh and very clean place. Restaurant Noise- its very low your able to talk with loved one to co-workers without any problems Food Price - its very moderate a lot of affordable food
Always great service and great food!!
They probably are racist because he followed me the whole time for my take out buffet!! I paid almost $15 and I was definitely was going to get my moneys worth!!! Nothing to crazy but I wasn’t going to short change myself because your standing in front of me.i would give this a negativ 0 if possible.
Hostess was awesome. Super sweet lady with a sense of humor. Food is awesome, and the location is great with good hours. Will definitely be returning often based on the service alone, the food being a plus.
Terrible experience all around. From the moment we walked in we were treated poorly. My friend ordered a mango juice (which was on the menu) and was given a mango lassi instead which she could not consume as she is vegan. When we informed the waitress she was very rude about it. The food also took over 55 minutes to come out and while decent, was not worth the wait and terrible service. Parts of our orders didn’t even come out however I assume we were charged for it cause when we went up to pay we were overcharged about $15 which we didn’t realize until leaving the restaurant. When we called to ask them as to their reasoning for it we were hung up on after being told we are “bad customers”.
I have been here 5 times and it's time I put this review up. I had the Goat and everytime is leaves me coming back for more! They offer 3 degrees of spices so no one dish is limited. Deserts were out the world! I can't wait to visit Indian. I have some Indian and Pakistani friends and they said the food just as good as home! Friendly staff I cannot wait to come back again. You must try the different kinds of Naan. If you like traditional middle eastern food not just Indian this is the place! It averages plates from 9 to 15 a person. Worth it! !!
Really tasty food and quick service.
Excellent and authentic Indian cuisine.
The Service was extremely slow! Not enough staff members, very rude waitress/hostess/manager. We waited about an hour for our food! they Didn't bring everything we ordered to our table! We were over charged and when we called to get our money back they hung up! We were also told we weren't good customers and had mean faces! Over all not good experience! Food was decent but sadly the service will prevent us from ever returning!
Great food and great service
The food was average. Not the best Indian food I have had. We ate at the lunch buffet and had my 5 year who was charged the same price as an adult buffet. It was too expensive for the food we got.
First visit, won't be last. Great food appropriately priced; quick and very friendly service. Started out with the Assorted Appetizer offering - it was wonderful, very satisfying; hubby had the Tandoori Mixed Grill, I, Saag Mushroom -- both very good. I have absolutely no complaints re our experience at Masala Bistro -- we will be back. This restaurant will now be our 'go-to' restaurant for Indian food.
Excellent buffet is great and reasonable.
I usually don’t like to write negative about anyone unless they really get on my nerves. I’d have rated this place 4 stars for the food if not for the lady at the front. She was very rude towards us. I regularly do take out orders from this place . However, we went there for dinner along family friends with their 3 year old kid a few days ago. First, she was being rude while taking the order showing too much attitude. I’ve mentioned my name to her as I’ve ordered with higher spice level many times before and asked her if the chef can make the vegetarian version of the entree with same spice levels, and her response was she gets so many orders and she doesn’t need to remember people’s names who orders with them. Second, my friends 3 year old kid felt his food little spicy for him (even though we ordered mild spice level for the kid) and we asked for butter for him and without even checking with the chef she instantly said she won’t be able to get it. My friend even insisted her to check with the chef as the kid is not able to eat his entree and she looked very unhappy about that and just went away. Third and worst, when we asked about a 50% discount coupon from their website the lady instead of giving a little detail about the coupon, she just threw 50 cents to us at the counter. We felt very humiliated gave back 50 cents to her told her this behavior of hers was unnecessary and we decided never to come back to this restaurant. I heard about her rudeness from my colleagues at work as well. Many say she is very rude mostly towards Indians. This kind of rude attitude towards any customers is not acceptable and will bring any business down. I hope the lady realizes and changes her behavior. Update: 5 months after our bitter experience with the lady, we ordered take out from this place, a man picked up and took our order, may be her husband. He is decent, talked nicely and said it’ll take 10 minutes. When went to pick it up, the same man was at the counter, he was nice, took the payment and that lady came from behind and handed me over the order and asked if I understand Hindi. I said yes, and she stared arguing about the review and venting out her frustration in Hindi , probably because she don’t want Americans to understand who were eating at that time . She kept talking really fast for over 30 seconds. I kept quite and listened to her as I thought if I let her talk first, she would listen when I talk. But no! When it’s my turn to talk, she said she don’t want to listen to what I have to say, said we are doing them any favor by eating at their restaurant, told me to never come back and walked away. My wife and I asked the man if this is how they behave with customers and tried to talk to him about our experience last visit. But he denied to listen and said he knows full story what happened that day. I asked him if he was not there at the scene, how can he claim to know the full story by not listening to other side. He didn’t say anything and walked away from us. We said don’t want the food after what she said to us, but the man said we take it or not he will not return the payment. So, we left the food on the counter and walked out. Honestly, I don’t like to write negative reviews about anyone and shoot in their foot. But, it’s their behavior that enabled me to write this review. I don’t disagree with people who wrote positive reviews, as they didn’t experience what we did and I hope they don’t. I wish this business all the good luck, because they really need luck as well to go along with this attitude.
I just tried the lamb roganjosh the spolice level was good
Yesterday we went to masala bistro . I loved the decor . Server she came very rapidly served me seat , food was awesome spice level was perfect I loved it service was so good I am from Virginia but whenever I am crossing Pennsylvania definitely I love to see these people again
The cuisine is not authentic at all. They put bell pepper in every dish even ghost kadai/chicken kadai. I will not recommend to anyone.
Food was below average for a 1-star restaurant. Paneer was sour, vindaloo was too spicy and parantas were under baked. We were not asked for level of spice. I guess it was too late in the evening for them and they must be tired (6:30 pm *sic*). In addition to the bad food, the hostesses was haughty, dismissive and condescending. Pennsylvania, we are disappointed.
This place is the best Indian food around! Everyone giving a "1" for a review are way out of line. My husband and I have been going there faithfully for the past 7 years. The food has never been bad and the owner (yes you negative "1'ers"...the lady) has never been rude to us or anyone around us. This sure is one of those times to NOT let the majority of negative reviews hinder your decision to go. GO eat there...you'll love it.
Last Sunday i went to the masala bistro and I tried the buffet they have a large collection taste was so fresh . They have really good desserts collection too and I took some dishes take out too saag paneer and butter chicken awesome experience
Vegetarian review. Warning: The 'spicey' level here is REALLY spicey. You have been warned. We went to Masala Bistro on a recommendation and so looked forward to the culinary experience. Although the staff and server were friendly and accommodating the food felt too short at my table for me. Let's start with the background: According to the personable manager, Preeti, the cuisine at the restaurant is styled towards northern Punjab. The chef-owner prepares all the gravy bases himself and also cooks many of the dishes. We ordered the following: Punjabi kadhi: It was lacking gravy and the pakode were dry and cold on the inside. It had not soaked up any of the kadhi. Shahi paneer: The paneer was soft. This gravy however, was too sweet but it was one of the more acceptable dishes on our order. Baingan bharta: This was good. Their style was different from my typical experience of the a bharta. The Malai Kofta was a total puzzler - being completely unidentifiable. I am not sure in which universe it qualified as a malai kofta as it lacked the signature flavor, cream, nuts and chunky base for its gravy. The naans: they were disappointing - especially from an owner that is Punjabi himself. I would never have sent these out to the table. The naans were, completely flat and did not have the signature crispy 'bumps' that indicate a properly leaven dough, with the right amount of freshness that was flattened correctly before going into the oven. The mango lassi was clearly prepared and sitting in the refrigerated as there was a layer of water on the top with ice. It was also too light in flavor. Insufficient mango pulp in it?
The staff was super friendly, and the food came out promptly. Not to mention it being delicious. I love this place.
Tried this gem today for the first time. Owner was very welcoming and the service was excellent. The food was amazing and the prices were amazing. We will definitely be dining there more often now that we know about this restaurant. This place is authentic and 5 star!
Delicious. Never a bad or even mediocre food day. Love this place!
The food is really awesome. We are big fan of below dishes. We go here regularly and owner is very humble/welcoming. Butter chicken Gobi Masala Punhabi curry Chicjen tikka masala Bhindi masala Tandoori chicken Chilli chicken
Very good lunch Buffet. It gives you a chance to try different kinds of Indian food.
Variety of options and food is good in reasonable price.
Best Indian lunch buffet in the area. And the friendliest service. Fresh, tasty dishes - always something new as well as tried and true standard dishes. Chicken Methi and Butter Chicken are two of my favorites.
I'm shocked by the 1 star reviews! I've been going to Masala Bistro for 3 yrs. Sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. I have NEVER seen "the lady" Pretti treat anyone (Indian or American) rudely. She has a smile, hugs and runs around like crazy getting drinks, special requests, seating people, cleaning tables, filling the buffet, there at the register to pay the bill. Yes I would agree she should have additional help at times but she still does a great job on her own. As for the food.... FABULOUS! I drive from Carlisle for this food. Always fresh! You see the staff adding new food to the buffet always. Not old heated up food! Those reviews have so many holes in them I can only believe they are just hateful people. The food is flavorful and not so much spice one is unable to eat it. Beautifully presented. Many different colors. Not just brown & yellow as I've seen at other Indian restaurants. The additional sauces on the side can kick up the spice level if you like. Not me. I'm American. As for certain dishes having or not having certain ingredients..... Every cook knows everyone makes things different and has their own twist. Even within the different cultures. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Beautifully decorated. I will continue to be a customer at Masala Bistro! Definitely not disappointed yet!
Nice range of dishes in the buffet. Perhaps not as "spicy hot" as I would prefer but bound to appeal to many diners. Only dish that disappointed was the goat curry which needed less bone and fat and a bit more meat. Prices were good and the accompanying tea (they don't do coffee) was excellent.
Avg Indian food.. seems like running the business for White folks only.. Bland for Indian standards!! went there around 6pm hoping to have an appetizer since my wife was shopping at the mall.. 6pm is too early for dinner.. the boss lady refused to serve me just the appetizer.. She said "I can't serve you just one item.. I dunno what to say".. I stood there awkwardly in a shock.. and she eventually budged.. but the intent is equally rude and unethical..
Great food (I've had the butter chicken and saag chicken). Place is BYOB. It is relatively small, but rarely too crowded. There is a lunch buffet as well. The owners are the most personable bunch but the food is all that really matters.
Very good food. And it was not spicy..will return
One of the best restaurants in the area. The food is always outstanding and the owners are the nicest people
Last week I went to masala bistro food was awesome really happy with kadai paneer with chicken naan
Flavorful food. Nice lunch buffet.
I wonder if they have different menu for people with different skin colors, because their behavior definitly is. I will not recommend anyone from south asian or eastern country to go to this place even by mistake. The hostess is rude, as has been pointed out by several people. Bad customer service. I am giving this star for the only hospitable person in that place i.e. chef.
It's best if this restaurant is open only to Americans. Totally rude towards Indians and the difference can be seen. The "Boss Lady" response towards Indian folks is unbelievable and it's so sad to experience this at an Indian restaurant.
It’s so surprising to note the server was not able to give basic things about the food. She says that she is vegetarian. Also she is very ignorant attitude was bad . Food was horrible. I would not recommend.
I eat here fairly regularly for lunch as I work nearby. I almost skipped coming here the first time because of the bad reviews, I am so glad I did not. They have a wonderful $10.00 lunch buffet, and while the meat dishes are limited to chicken (I would love to see a lamb dish but I understand they can't while keeping the buffet price down) everything is delicious. I have eaten at a good number of Indian restaurants and the food here holds its own with the best of them. I have also seen comments on here about how rude the staff is, this has NEVER been my experience. I have never seen anybody working there be anything but exceptionally polite and helpful. They were willing to answer questions I had and are attentive (refilling drinks when they get low without having to be flagged down). As for the food, it is most definitely fresh, not as some have said frozen or stale. The Naan is hot and fresh and the food on the buffet regularly refilled. I have never once had it..... disagree, with my digestion. I absolutely think that some of these bad reviews are slander from other Indian restaurants in the area and let me just say, that is a crappy way to do business. Don't let the bad reviews dissuade you, come check out this place for your self, I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
Info here occasionally for the lunch buffet. Absolutely delicious, fair on price, and a comfortable atmosphere. Hands down 5/5. Will be coming back as long as I can.
Fantastic Indian buffet.
The lady owner didn’t have the courteous attitude towards Indian customers. She should have behaved better or be polite. Food was terribly spicy and they didn’t ask me for spice level when they had to take the order. When i complained, she was rude and hesitant to listen what i had to say. Later she gave me white rice to subside the spice levels.
It was good. I recommend it. Order spicy, you definitely get it spicy
Amazing food!!! Can't beat the price of quality and quantity! Spices and flavor is just fantastic! Even our waitress was excellent! Thank you for a great meal that my wife and I enjoyed!!!
Excellent service and food!
They are amazing. The buffet has a nice variety and is good to a custom you to their offerings. Dinner is always served quickly. They have the bEST naan of anywhere. The saag panerf is a good choice I also like there goat curry. Tandoori chicken here far surpasses a KFC meal. The owners happy and prettycouldn't be nicer. The mango chutney is a wonderful dessert. If you want Indian food this is THE place to go. Also conviently close to capital city mall. Skip the mall food get lunch or dinner here.
I wouldn't even give one star but had to give one to give review. I love Indian food but this place served worst Indian food. I been around Indian restaurants (US and Asia) never taste like that kinda nasty stuff and being a Fijian(indian)/American I wanna let people know that's not real Indian food you guys serving slow poison. All dishes full with a heavy cream. You must be learn 1st how to cook or hire a new chef and served. I was in Thailand & Vietnam before couple weeks ago and they cook better Indian food then I ate at your place even they are not Indians. One more thing you can pay to yelp to removed True comments but Please do not give people heart or Belly disease by disgusting food.Request to Indian food lovers eat healthy & stay healthy....................Be careful about what you eating.
Great indian buffet. Only one around camp hill.
I love this place. When I get there I feel comfortable and relax especially the music takes me away and remind my lots of good memories. Staffs and management are awesome. Thank you all
Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. This place has an awesome feel to it. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.
A very good Indian food that I have had after a while. The ambience, service and choices in the menu get 4+ stars Cleanliness 5+ I am a foodie and from NYC so definitely have more expectations but the quality of food, taste and quantity..all have impressed me :) I could feel No added artificial flavors and color. What I likes the most - the owner of the restaurant himself is a chef and prepares food so I could taste the flavors of authentic Punjabi(Indian) food :)
My fiancé and I ate here this evening. AMAZING food! The owner is super up beat and fun. His wife is beautiful and sweet. Great couple to be served by! We absolutely loved our time there. The food and spicy tea were so yummy and authentic! I can't wait to eat here again! Thank goodness they deliver to my work too!! I have not gotten excited about a restaurant in a long time. So glad we took the chance and stopped in!!
Friendly staff. I asked them for spicy food and they gave it exactly what I want. I will come again in my next visit.
Awesome food. Great service. Family run.
Simply homemade taste and real Indian taste in all the stuff i ordered if you around Harrisburg pa then this is ur best option, don't go to those fancy looking Indian restaurants they disappoint me everytime. This is best many thanks the punjabis for the lovely food they have.
Awesome place with awesome.people one of my favorites around I would totally recomend if you are up for an awesome food and service
Wonderful food! Staff is unimaginably happy and contagiously excited to serve- service is perhaps the most delightful part of this already delicious experience. Highlights of the menu for me were the samosas, saag, chili chicken, and as the highlight and perfect ending to the meal: the gulab. 10/10 highly recommend.
Went for the lunch buffet. The food was amazing and the service was friendly. We will be regulars!
Last 5 years we are going to this small bistro we all love their buffet and service its always a warm welcome with a big smile
I don't understand all the negative reviews. We went for lunch buffet and everything was great. Servers were polite and attentive. The food was excellent and we left feeling like we stuffed ourselves. We will be going back!
Only Indian restaurant in the area where Indians are treated so distastefully. Only reason for Indians to go is food, For buffet is good for a change. Management need to look in to this ATTITUDE ISSUE
All you can eat at a good price
Fresh food and delicious! I love Masala Bistro. It is always good... tons of flavor and great service.
Great, authentic food, kind and cheerful service, reasonable prices.,
I've been coming here since they opened. This is the best Indian food in the Harrisburg area. Consistency of quality, taste is excellent. Great family run restaurant
We stopped by at this restaurant while going back to Michigan . The staff was rude and does not understand simple ENGLISH... also they don’t know what’s in their own menu. The staff was in so much rush and did not have enough time to take correct order . Simple courtesy of asking for Water was not absent. When we asked for water with ice they provided us with a glass of water and another glass of ice. Probably they don’t understand that language . When we asked for high chair for my son, staff asked to get the chair from the entrance as it was my job to do so . Worst experience ever . I would not recommend anyone to go there ever.
My wife and I just had dinner here and had a very pleasant experience. We got the Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Vegetable Samosas, and my wife ordered a mango lassi. Everything was very delicious. Our server was extremely kind and sweet, she also gave her recommendations on the menu. Food was out within 7 minutes! Will be returning again soon and I look forward to eating here once again.
This place is FANTASTIC! The hostess was so warm and welcoming! The food was delicious and refilled often. Regular menu and a lunch buffet! The lunch buffet is out of this world!! Definitely a repeat restaurant! Can’t beat that kind of service and food!!
Rude staff don’t care about their customers. Make their food way too spicy. Mild food should not be spicy. Hung up on me when I told her the food was too spicy to be considered “mild”. Said she was too busy to talk to me. Rude AsF. I will be letting all my friends and family know, not to go to this place.
This place is excellent! You can tell a lot of the 1 star reviews are probably from competitors... The staff is always wonderful and warm, especially to my young daughter. The tea is excellent, and from main dishes (my favorite is the saag chicken!) to dessert (my daughter loves the lassa!), the food is top quality. We go back at least once a month!
Their veg stuff is amazing. They have to go a long way in providing tastier non-veg meal. Same applies to their buffet too.
Accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem when looking for the new Wal-Mart. Haven't been to another Indian restaurant in Harrisburg since. Friends and I go at least twice a month for the buffet on Sundays. We've also been in for a meal during the week. The hostess has never been anything but incredibly nice and wonderful. The selection for the lunch buffet is plentiful and all of it, delicious. I strongly recommend the spicy chicken, a personal favorite. Update: In regards to the reviews saying the hostess/staff were incredibly rude, please do not believe them. I've brought my whole family and many friends to this place and she has ALWAYS been nothing but incredibly nice and cheerful. The other staff, based on what little interaction I've had with them, are also very nice. I'm not sure who these reviewers interacted with to warrant such negative comments. However, the competition in the area is very steep for Indian restaurants, so purposely slandering other restaurants is a fairly popular tactic I've seen in person and on review sites. Just please ignore them and visit Masala, you won't regret it.
nice food , good restaurant
Owners are so friendly, food is delicious!!
Great service. Great food and drinks!!
I went at lunchtime and decided to have the buffet since I wanted to try several dishes. The buffet is small but it has a nice selection of dishes! The food was fresh and tasty. The staff was excellent and very attentive. I thought it was an excellent value and will definitely return.
Best Indian cuisine in central Pennsylvania.
Good tasting food and excellent service!!
The food (in the buffet) is very good and always consistent. The staff is extremely friendly. It is always busy at lunch, but not so much that you have to wait long for a seat. They have started to introduce new things to the buffet which is great.
Good food and great service Very friendly people and cozy environment.
I love punjabi food because I am truly Canadian I loved it their punjabi selection I tried Rajma Chole saag and bhindi with spicy aloo parathas loved it spice level was so good sardar ji the chef Happy SINGH made my day
Excellent food especially for the price. Truly a hidden gem.
Pleasant, quick service. Our favorite Indian food all around! Lots of delicious vegan options, plus expertly prepared goat and lamb dishes. All the stars!
Delicious food, great service, great staff. Love this place.
The food is good but not spicy at all. I wish they would make a spicy and regular version of the more popular items on the lunch buffet. Never had a problem with the staff like some of the other comments mention.
This place is really worth your money. great food. great management.
This is my go to place for Indian food. I wish they would run the buffet during the evening, but other than that, great food, great prices, comfy atmosphere. I always look forward to coming here.
Most worst hospitality and service.Owner is chef and behaved very rude with other customers also.Food quantity purposely served very small for big price because by ordering one order .We paid $20 and came out without eating food.Never saw in my 25 years of US stay ,a Resturtant like this who treats customers like this in very poor way and realize that we are beggers. On top no apologies or sorry from them .Not sure how they serving the business and running it
Amazing food. Very flavorful and spicy. The Garlic Kulcha bread was very fresh and delicious as well was the Mutter Paneer and Chicken Curry. The homemade cheese in the Mutter Paneer is to die for. I highly recommend this place!
