This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience dealing directly with owners. Owner, Heather, has recently taken over catering and unfortunately service has deteriorated immensely. After many weeks of being unresponsive and then finally verbally committing to a 100 person catering event (during an in person meeting I had to request to try to create some accountability) Heather sends an email 4 days before the event stating they no longer have the staff to service the event. She states she had other signed contracts come up in the less than 48 hrs since she committed to our event. with "paid deposits." We had been loyal customers of this restaurant for 6 years and had built a genuine rapport with past management who worked on several catering events for us. Really surprised by the lack of integrity and professionalism by ownership, going back on their word after years of working together. Cannot support a business when the owners do not value the customer experience. Very, very disappointing.
Amazing modern Indian food. Every single item I tried here was too good. Do not miss out on the spinach Chaat. Our waiter was very friendly and he recommended food for us that did not disappoint. His service was exceptional. Their drinks menu is great as well with interesting options. I like the ambience of this place. We also tried crispy cauliflower, eggplant Ratatouille, stuffed peppers and paneer toast. Don't miss this if you're in the neighborhood! Special mention for the lemonade - so minty fresh!
The place was a bit crowded because the restaurant is somewhat small. It can be perfect for dates because the place gives off a romantic vibe. It is recommendable to vegetarians too. Many veggies to choose from. Food was amazing. No wonder the place is crowded.
Outstanding staff, friendly and knowledgeable. I have been looking for a good Indian restaurant in the US since moving over here and can safely say this place tops the list! Treat yo’self and get the Sea bass, it’s amazing. If I lived in Philadelphia this place would bankrupt me.
Went for lunch on Saturday, some what busy, really slow service and food was ok. Ordered a rose lassi, got a mango one instead. Got a lunch thali to share. Lots of staff around but took a while to get their attention. About 10 mins to get process payment and about 15 min from being shown the menu to the waiter coming over to take our order. Would I go back?....not in a rush to tbh
Beautiful restaurant, good food and friendly & accommodating waitstaff. Already planning to go back soon!
Great food with a nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Pancake, and the build your own omelet. My cousin got the stuffed long peppers and a veggie skewer. It was amazing.
The food delicious the staff extremely courteous. Bathrooms clean and elegant
Great food
Everything here is great, and always attentive service. The happy hour is one of the best around, and the portions are good. Try the brunch on the weekend for something yummy and different!
Been here many times and have yet to be disappointed. Though pricy, it is worth every penny for this delicious fusion menu. I highly recommend the spinach chaat and the stuffed long hot pepper as an appetizer. The entrees are great whether you want to get traditional indian (makhani, malai kofta, chicken tikka) or a fusion dish (chicken tikka wrap, goan paella). They also have such amazing and creative cocktails. I highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting center city philly!
Love it!!+ Gourmet Indian food
Delicious Indian food and hip atmosphere. We go everytime we visit Philly.
I’ve eaten here several times now and each time has been excellent. My only complaint is that the place is so popular that it can be difficult to get a table! The staff are very attentive and friendly. The chef came by and checked on me (and some other tables). The owner is onsite and making sure things are working right! In Philly? Go here! I’ll be back.
This place is awesome! Their happy hour is the best
Great first time experience. Food was fresh, flavorful and terrific. Our server Josh was awesome. Definitely will be returning.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants ever... I love Indian food, and this place is phenomenal. Been here more times than I can count and everything is always fresh and delicious!
Danielle at the bar was fantastic and very attentive. Definitely give it a shot especially for the endless mimosa brunch.
Great food, AWESOME friendly staff, get a reservation
Amazing food and service. On the pricey side but completely worth it. The house made pumpkin ice cream with almond crumble was to die for!
Pricey but worth it Definitely want to go back here
The best Indian food in Philadelphia! I've tried their brunch, happy hour and dinner. The food is not only great but so is the service.
Tasting menu items are really good. Good ambience and service
Had a disappointing first experience here today... there was 90 mins wait so we decided to order take out. the girl at the front desk didn't know anything and had to go into the kitchen to ask every small thing. The food itself was very ordinary.. chicken was leathery and the rice was very dry... the only thing that was good was the stuffed pepper.. price was reasonable though and you need to find parking on the street
Outstanding Indian Restaurant Indeblue has a different innovative take on Indian flavours. And they have gotten in right in every item we ordered and everything was absolutely delicious . First Indian restuarant offering indian take on Cheese platter. Our server recommended Brussel sprouts fry. Both appetizers were different and delicious. The entrees were perfectly made. The presentation was beautiful. The service was very attentive. The decor is pleasant. This is the best Indian Restuarant in Philly.
Love it love it love me and my friend go here every time we got some extra money. Im a little disappointed to hear they took the walnuts outta the mango lassi. But food is amazing
Outstanding service and very decent food! Right from entering the restaurant the greet the service was absolutely top notch. Kudos to owner/management to not only train the staff but also keep them happy that they genuinely seemed to be enjoying serving every guest! I am in restaurant operations myself so I know how challenging it could be. Special shout out to Bennett our server, he was genuinely enjoying serving every guest and always suggestive and knowledgeable! Manager was taking time out of busy routine for table touches! Great job by the whole team!
Saturday & Sunday brunch options are good. But dinner menu is pricey and the portion size is small.
I had a great experience with the food and service. We met the chef and his and our server's recommendations were on point. The spinach chaat (insanely good) impressed a Delhi-person and the dal tadka impressed a Punjabi. Those are both high praises. I don't usually write reviews. That how impressive this food was. Looking forward to returning soon!
I think This is best Indian restaurant in Philadelphia, ask madras chicken and Kashmir nan and have it with there ritha ,, you will just love.. and appetizers drums of heaven and crispy cauliflower this are the best,, if you love spicy food ask for very spicy food,, enjoy the slowly so that you will love the food. Tea is best fully authentic.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal with friends. The service was excellent and so was the food. Since we all have kids we don't get out often. So it's important that we have a nice time when we do and Indeblue didn't disappoint.
The most amazing dining experience! I went to Indeblue for the first time for my 21st birthday and right off the bat, the head waiter helped my parents and I celebrate with champagne. We decided to do the tasting menu and it was certainly worth it! All the food was beyond expectation, especially the crispy spinach chaat. My mom, who doesn’t have an adventurous palate loved each course as well. The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. The service was above and beyond! They gave me the most perfect birthday dinner. Highly recommend for amazing Indian food!
Staff and food amazing!
I visited it once on Saturday evening. There's usually a 40 - 60 mins wait on weekend evenings. We reserved the table over the phone call but still we had to wait for about 10-15 more after reaching there. Staff was polite and friendly. For price - $$ As this place in downtown, it's very difficult to find parking. Parking on street. Food: good
Indian flavors combined with multiple influences. Modern for sure, wouldn’t call it fusion in a derogatory way. There’s class to what’s happening. Trusted the server and got the specials and they were great. Definitely coming back to try out some other menu items.
Came here for the first time yesterday for lunch with a large group for lunch, and was really impressed with both the food and the service. The location is gorgeous inside, and Josh handled our party perfectly. Get the thali for lunch....promise you'll love it!
Great fusion restaurant with excellent service!
Magically delicious Indian right in center city Philadelphia. The cauliflower and chicken drumsticks are solid go to options and all curries are delicious and Sunday’s dosa are well done. I would highly recommend Inde blue and I would classify myself as a highly seasoned connoisseur of Indian food offerings in The tristate area.
Great ambiance and great food. The service was quick. It might seem a little expensive but it is worth it.
It was really good for what it was. I wish they had more traditional dishes. We had lobster rolls, chicken and waffles and chicken tikka chipotle. We didn’t have any alcoholic beverages because we went so early. The water, I’m sure was straight from the pipe, eww. The owner and servers were great. The logo didn’t stick out we walked by it twice.
This place has amazing food and cocktails!
Went to happy hour to this place. It’s right in downtown. Loved our drinks and appetizers. Indeblu martini was really good. Chicken drumsticks were tasty too. Papad and chicken tikka masala was okay. Very friendly service. Would definitely recommend this place.
Wow! Lori is probably the best server I have ever had in a long time here in Philly. Just friendly. Attentive and just all around amazing. Food was really good as well First time here and thanks to Lori I’ll be back! Thanks Lori!
What a treasure! Such a great atmosphere, great bar offerings, and the brunch menu was fantastic. I had the sampler and the flavors were distinctive and not overpowering. Justin was our server and he was outstanding. His food knowledge was incredible! Go here - you will not be disappointed! ❤️
IndianRestaurant with attitude. Went for my birthday, we lucked out with live tabla music during our meal. Food was great.
Excelente service, and enough patience to explain the different dishes. Food very good in taste and amount. Moderate spicy food.
HORRIBLE food! The server was nice but the food was terible and the food is very over priced
It was ok. I think it could have been better if the dish was prepared well. Mushroom were dried and burnt. Meats are over cooked. Naan are lukewarm and the waiters did not tell us which one is regular and cheese. It was a big group but I wish they would accommodated better.
Food is delicious and staff is super nice
Lori (Laurie?) was the bestest server that I could ask for ever. So fast with the mimosas. The real MVP.
The food is simply amazing! The owners personally greet you to make sure you're satisfied with your meal. Butter chicken (Tikka makhani) is my favourite.
The best Indian food that I have had in years
Always a reliable spot. Great staff and can't beat the location.
Bought a grilled chicken
Excellent food and ambiance for a date night. The food serves authentic Indian food with a slight American twist. Spice levels are available according to your likeness/capability ;) Also the deserts are phenomenal, don't forget to try the stuffed Gulab Jamun. Will definitely visit again to try other things on the menu.
We went from Atlantic city to Philly to try out this place for Mothers Day. Food was delicious. Parking is a hassle.
Lori was our waitress and did a great job. Food and drinks were fabulous. Great atmosphere as well. I highly recommend this place.
Anytime we travel to a city we venture at an Indian Restaurant as there is not one where we love. This place was awesome! Food, service ... all top notch.
Good Indian food I like this place
Indeblue is one of the top if not the top Indian restaurant in Phili. You have choice of authentic Indian and of fusion Indian food, Service is excellent. is conveniently located in downtown area. Enjoyed the food and Ambiance.
Food at this place is definitely unique, different but tasty!! It is not very authentic Indian food, but kind of modernized version of Indian food. I tried spinach chat here for the first time and it was way beyond my expectations in terms of both taste and appearance. The place is very ambient and the service is really good. Chef came to our table and talked to us about the food options - that was a very gesture by them ! It has a bar as well. Overall, it’s a nice place to go for drink, have dinner and enjoy the food.
Good food, small space, slightly pricy but worth it. I recommend their version of chicken and waffles!
Service is excellent even when they are busy. The staff was very friendly and kind. Not so close to my office, unfortunately.
Nice change to the brunch experience. I went for brunch and it was enjoyable. There was live music with a traditional drum. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Would go again.
Solid, classy selection. One of my favorite Indian places in Philly.
Great food have the Spinach Chaat. Staff where great. Will go back
Had brunch w. my friend, Seth, today. Food was excellent. Incorporating Indian inspired elements in Western forms; e.g. omelets and wraps, which was what we had. We were both highly pleased. The service was friendly without being cloying. Service was fast but not rushed. Prices are very reasonable.
Most items are good and are a modern twist on Indian staples.
Delicious Indian Thali. Best one i have had in a long time!!
Delicious Indian food in Philadelphia. Loved their vegetarian thali.
Great service. I was there during restaurant week (unfortunately) so who knows what was going on with the menu. Really good service, decent food. Not traditional Indian but incorporates the flavors. Curry soup was excellent, lamb kofte ok. Poutine was decent but again not terribly Indian. Vibrant neighborhood.
One of the best place in this area. Quality service, excellent staff and waitress.
The service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was lovely. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. I would certainly come again!
Great service and kind staff. Helpful with explaining dishes and giving recommendations. The food was delicious and I will definitely come back again. The 'spicy' labeled entrees could have been spicier, but still tasty nonetheless.
First time trying Indian food and absolutely loved it.
Good Indian food. Went here for Philadelphia restaurant week. Remember they validate your parking. For appetizer their chili mango chicken wings is a must try. Their samsoe chat was fine but nothing wow about it. Crab kofta something different, nothing like in had tried before. I must note their tomato, mustard and curd soup was awesome. The waiter was kind enough to get us more of it free of charge. The service here is excellent.
July 7 2019 lunch with p and m, 2nd place today. Just ordered masala dosa and veg thali. Dosa was overdone, but taste was good. The curries in the thali tasted alright, dal makhani was really good. The server was nice, decor is alright. The prices are towards expensive side.
I am usually not a fan of Indian food, but the food was delicious; from appetizer to dessert. Cocktails were also presented nicely and our server was great and friendly! We will definitely visit again!
Wow, everything we ordered here was unique and tasty. This is not traditional Indian food, but I would call it American/Indian fusion. Especially at brunch, some dishes leaned more towards American, while others more Indian. The service was also wonderful. Gotta try the crispy cauliflower and the spicy chicken and waffles.
A modern take on indian cuisine. Excellent flavour. Portion size sufficient for 1 person only. Make sure to get a reservation before going as it is difficult to get a table even on weekdays at times
You can experience the delicate cooking that goes into the food here. The best fine dine Indian fusion place!
Wonderful food and fantastic service, along with a beautiful setting. It's not had to miss it on the street, but make sure you look hard for it. It's definitely worth the effort.
Absolutely wonderful and authentic Indian food. Great vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommend
This place deserves full rating! If you are in Philly / visiting Philly, this place should be on your cards. Even though the portion size and ambiance has mix of Indian and Western hints, you do get the authentic north Indian flavor in the food! The serving ideas are eclectic and carry great inspiration from distinct cultures. This was my second visit with my family, and realized they have different brunch and dinner menus to provide you diverse choices. Coming back..
This place has the best Indian food in Philly!!
The food was tasty and delicious.
The nicest people. The happy hour has great apps. Try the wings of heaven.
Had a wonderful evening last night. Our reservation was ready when we arrived and we were sat immediately by a wonderful hostess. We ordered several starters including the spinach chaat and the bbq samosas which are my absolute favorite. I enjoyed a flavorful rendition of a classic paella which included a lot of mussels and shrimp. I also enjoyed the raja cocktail which was very citrusy while my friend let me try his desi rose gimlet which was great floral aspect that mixed well with the gin. Finally I barely had room to fit the chai chocolate pot de creme which was a nicely spiced, deep, dark chocolatey mousse. Our server Nitesh was absolutely fantastic and his descriptions of the specials and menu items were very helpful in our decisions.
Fantastic Indian cuisine. I haven't done Center City Sips in years and really enjoyed the appetizer and drink offerings. For my entree I got the Makhani. So so tasty. I'll be back for sure.
You had better get in here and experience some good Indian food or die without ever knowing what you are missing.
Laurie was amaze! Kept my party’s mimosas filled and super on top of our large party’s needs. Definitely will come again!
Enjoyed the experience. Spice level not to my mark. But in general great taste.
Atmosphere, personnel, food: all good!
Service is very good. Food is "modernized" in a good way. The Saag lamb entry is very special and the naan is the best I have ever eaten. The only problem is for the serving speed is too slow for lunch.
Had a great experience. Friends and I were exploring Philadelphia and had a great time here with their endless mimosas and delicious food. Josh our server was very friendly and made our first time here a splendid time
Wonderful! This restaurant has such a relaxed and calm atmosphere. I went for brunch, which was more American-Indian fusion. That food was fantastic! The menu was expansive and it seemed to have more authentic Indian food on the lunch and dinner menus
Gorgeous food and the staff were very friendly. Our waiter was very nice and helpful, the food was really good, we enjoyed every piece of it. I'd recommend going here to anyone who enjoys an Indian with a bit of an American style twist to it as well.
Went during restaurant week. Food and staff were exceptional. Great flavor and inventive dishes.
The food was great and our waiter was awesome. Went here on a date. We got the shared menu which is about 44 per person. It is def worth it. If u want to experience the full menu I highly recommend it. Everything tasted great!!!
Good food and excellent service
Their brunch is so delicious with $6 mimosas or a pitcher for $22. They have American options for brunch as well as Indian so it was a nice balance. I got the makhani and a friend got the chicken till wrap both delicious. They also had chicken and waffles, omelettes, or pancakes if you're looking for something more traditionally brunch like. Server and hostess were very friendly.
Indeblue is the talk of Philadelphia and for good reason. This restarauant is an epic dining experience. Chef Rakesh and his team run the place like a Swiss watch. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere fantastic. My wife and I are looking foward to our next visit here.
Not that I hope for. Ambiance was good, staff and owner are very nice and polite, plating of food was beautiful. But food wasn't up to the mark. 1. Ordered lemon-mint drink first. It was very sour.. couldn't finish it. 2. For starter we ordered shrimp, spinach chat and cauliflower dish. It was very average and only 3 peices in shrimp dish. $$ 3. Biggest disappointment was 'paneer-makhni'. It wasn't anything like makhni gravy.. it wasn't creamy and flavorful but hot and sour. 4. Dessert was 'Gulab-jamun' which looked way better than it taste.
I just ordered delivery for lunch, and overall had a positive experience! I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo (requested extra spicy), which was very flavorful, definitely had a kick, and was generous in terms of portion size. My only qualm was that the rice was a bit dry. The delivery fee was only $1, and the food came in a timely manner. Overall, would consider ordering again!
Non vegetable thaki is awesome and the guys there are very friendly. Sunday lunch close time 3 but @3.35, one of them told me relax and enjoy ur food, no need 2 hurry.. i ordered food @2.55 sill no problem. I vll go back again if get scope 4 Indian food in PA
Best Indian food I've ever had. This is perhaps a bold statement from someone who typically orders out, but I LOVED it. Great cocktail menu too! And to top it off our server was beyond delightful and so helpful. I'll definitely be back!
Great happy hour at the bar!
Really good food. I would suggest the sampler for brunch! Both the veggie and the non-veggie ones are good.
Unbelievable!!! You will not have a better dinning experience...
I went with a good friend to have brunch on a Sunday. The food was amazing! They had live music and the wait staff was impressive. Definitely check them out!
Wonderful food. Comfortable ambiance
Outstanding lunch! Had the brussel sprouts and the make your own thalis and everything was perfectly prepared and tasted amazing! Our server, Josh, completed our experience and made it memorable for us. Thank you Josh and thank you Indeblue!
Great place, great food, great service and great owners. Went for my birthday and were really treated special. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
I went to the place because it was highly recommended by a lot of my friends but I wasn't as impressed. I will say walking into the restaurant and reading the drinks and food menu, I was really excited to try what was offered. However, after receiving the food, I did not see a correlation in the food description and the actual taste. The drinks on the other end were good- so I would go to check those out because they're really unique. The service was overall great and had no complaints on that end. Just the food wasnt as tasty/satisfying as expected because of the high recommendations but the vibe was cool/chill.
Love the extended happy-hour at the bar...5 p.m. until close, very nice. Tasty food and welcoming staff.
Fantastic and authentic Indian food with wonderful service
The boyfriend and I stopped in for a late snack and drinks this past week. The ambiance was really nice, the service was great and the food was delicious. But the drinks were the best part. We ordered both sweet and a savory drinks but they were both incredible. Definitely will be back for a proper dinner.
A little too dim for the tine of day (we went for brunch) but the food was delicious and the service was good. Very little down time between placing your order and food being brought to the table. Coming back for dinner real soon.
Elegant decor, exceptional service, and absolutely delicious menu. We go here for special occasions, and when family and friends are in town. All around great experience.
The sauces are the stars of the show. Great place for vegetarians. Meat dishes were excellent as well.
Just had lunch here as part of restaurant week. Fantastic food and service. The spinach appetizer salad; to die for! The rest of the meal was deluxious. Our server, equally excellent and friendly service. Great place.
This place is fantastic! I keep going back. Nitesh is our favorite waiter when we do not sit at the bar for happy hour we are happy to sit at his table. The food here is outstanding. I’m not a vegetable person but everything here is awesome. The spinach chaat is wonderful. I enjoy seafood so usually have the moilee for dinner. The paav bhaji on the happy hour bar menu is so good. The garlic naan is also wonderful. My favorite drink is the anjeer deliciously sweet. You can’t go wrong eating here!
Came in on a busy night but we were still seated right away. The wait staff there was attentive, yet not pushy. Our waiter was well-informed on the menu items, which was helpful for a first timer. The atmosphere was calm and the decor was beautiful. I will definitely be back.
Went for brunch on Sunday with friends and we loved everything we tried. We sat at the bar and the woman who served us was super attentive and kind. I can’t wait to go back to try more things on the menu. I raved about this place to everyone at work the next day!
Truly awesome dining experience I didn't get the waiter's name but he was unbelievably friendly and energetic through the whole course and all of the food was stupendous
Great fusion Indian food mixed with a few classics. The only real upscale Indian in Philly now that Tashan has closed
Came for lunch today with a friend. First time here and it was truly worth every penny! Had the vegetarian thali, and was full halfway through my meal, but I couldn't stop eating! The atmosphere was inviting, softly lit and tastefully decorated. Our server, Josh, was a charmer, and was excellent in every way. Highly recommended!!
Michael Owens The Artist We had an amazing time And enjoyed some of the best Indian Cuisine in Philadelphia so make sure to come check them out.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Philly downtown area.
I wanted to like this restaurant more than I really did. It smelled amazing as we walked in and was packed to the brim on a Friday night. The wait staff was phenomenal but the food left me wanting for something a bit more traditional. I was given a speech about how the menu is a 'autobiography' of the chef's culinary life but at the end of the day it just came off like any other fusion restaurant. The food itself was fine but I would have loved more traditional Indian flavors in the dishes.
Highly recommend this place!!Delicious food with great atmosphere. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Will visit again soon.
The ambiance is very nice but the quantity of items on the menu might not be sufficient for some people.
What a place! I love going there! Very cozy atmosphere, super friendly staff and amazing food and drinks... What else? The location is divided in tow parts, one for the restaurant: the Indian food is excellent there! And one part is for the bar: you get happy hour every day from 5pm to closing time, which is amazing: their cocktails are splendid! Highly recommend the indeblutini! And appetizers at the bar are excellent and not expensive.
Myself and 3 friends stopped in for an impromptu Sunday brunch after our plans elsewhere fell through. Their tables were all booked but we managed to find 4 seats at the bar and we were so glad we did. The food was great! Two of my friends had the spicy chicken and waffles which has an amazing presentation. It’s definitely a crowd favorite. I tried the create-your-own-omelette. The cheese they used was soooooo good. It completely made the omelette. This is one of the few places in Philly that has bottomless mimosas also ($22). All of the employees were very friendly as well. This would be a great spot for a boozy brunch with friends.
The food was delicious (we had lamb chops, lamb poutin, brussel sprouts) and service was top notch. Great cocktails as well.
Awesome food. Loved it
Good service and food was mostly great. Both starters (shrimp toast and tandoori wings) were excellent, and the crab kofta was beautiful, but the polenta masala was rather bland. I understand that it was restaurant week (incidental, not intentional), so I'd hope the dishes on offer would be better under normal circumstances. Good experience, would love to try the full regular menu.
This resturant is perfect. It’s a new inventive take on many classic Indian dishes, and love the fact that they worked with us to make them have no hot spice for a member of our party who doesn’t care for hot spicy food. Our waiter was extremely friendly and made the experience just that much more unique. Can’t wait to be back again.
This place is a hidden treasure. I went there twice. Love the creative menu. Indebluetini is my favourite. I will be back!
We celebrated a birthday here and the staff made it special! The crispy spinach and lollipop lamb chops are fantastic! The menu has something for every palate.
Awesome food and drinks, even better with happy hour deals
Visited this place a few days ago. Here are a few things I tried and how they tasted: 1. Crispy Spinach Chaat: I had heard a lot of good things about it so I decided to order it. It tasted the best among all the things we had but if reviewed individually, it was average at the best. The taste was okay but it was so oily you could taste the oil. The kick usually associated with chaats in India was missing due to a lack of the spice element. 2. Stuffed long peppers: This did not taste good. Mainly because of the way the peppers were stuffed. The lower portion did not have any stuffing so when I bit into it the only taste I got was the bitter taste of the peppers. The chutney too did not complement the dish very well. It was a little better when I finally reached the stuffing but it wasn't good enough. 3. Malai Kofta Bukhara: The kofta was good. A little firm but I prefer it that way. The gravy though was disappointing. The gravy for malai kofta is generally a little on the sweeter side but this one was bland. I could hardly taste the spices or anything else that was added to it. There were a just a few pieces of cashew nuts for a good mouthfeel but other than that it just fell flat. It came with rice which was beautifully cooked and tasted great. 4. Provencal: This is a herbed naan with rosemary and a few other spices. I generally eat garlic naan when eating out but I decided to try something different. It was okay, nothing special. Maybe I'll stick to my good old garlic naan the next time. 5. Stuffed gulab jamun: Gulab jamun is my absolute favorite sweet in the world and the ones at Indeblue were decent. They were stuffed with some midly sweet rose cream, on a bed of slivered pistachios. The size of each gulab jamun was huge but these weren't exactly the 'melt in your mouth' kind. There was also some cardamom (elaichi) in the jamuns something that I personally do not prefer but was okay with since the taste wasn't too overpowering. The service is great and so is the ambience. The restaurant wasn't too crowded because we went on a week day but the overall atmosphere was likable. Final thoughts: The food is highly Americanized. Yes, I understand they want to cater to a wider audience but what is the point of it being an Indian restaurant when the very essence of Indian food, the taste of the spices, is lost. I had been here before and hadn't loved the food even back then but because I heard good things from a lot of people I decided to visit again. I also felt quite heavy and queasy after eating the food, especially the gulab jamuns maybe because the food was rich in dairy products. For the price that I paid I wasn't too satisfied with what I received. Maybe I tried the wrong things. But I doubt I will go back unless someone is paying for my dinner or I just don't have another option.
Went for my bday, never had Indian food. Lori our server was fantastic, helped us navigate the menu. Food was wonderful. Really enjoyed. Will be back!
Such a disappointing experience. Food was expensive (dinner) and flavor was lacking- if you’re looking for Indian food remember this is Indian FUSION which I should have taken into account, but this restaurant was so hyped up by others. They do not begin to cook your entree until appetizer plate is cleared- but wait staff doesn’t pay attention to know when to clear the plate. App plate with 2 chickpeas on it sat at our table for 30 minutes while we waited. I would try their happy hour (which you can’t get at the regular tables despite my asking this on the phone prior to our reservation) as its cheaper but dinner? Never again.
Food Delicious. Drinks outstanding. Service was the best. Will go back just to eat eat from MD
Delicious food and amazing customer service. One of the best spots in Philly
Indian Fusion. Pretty light on the spice compared to traditional indian but that would be too spicy for me, so if you are not into hardcore spice, this is very acceptable and accommodating! I went here for the restaurant week to try the place out and I would definitely go back.
Favorite Indian restaurant ever! Very creative menu and the food is super flavorful. Most try palak chat and their chai is so spot on! Their paneer curries are out of the world and their bread basket is so fresh and delicious!!
We had a great evening at Indeblue. Love the decor, drinks and food! The spinach chaat was amazing so we ordered another one! Our waiter Nitesh was friendly and attentive. Loved the crispy cauliflower, bbq samosas and my entree of sea bass! Chef Ramola came out to greet us and we couldn’t thank him enough for the wonderful food and time we had here. We will be back for sure!
Best ambience! Even though, items are a bit costly and food comes in little quantity, its the place i would recommend for really tasty food.
Excellent music, decor, menu, flavors, service, location. Honestly, best Malai kofta I ever had. Restaurant week lunch deal is $20/person!
Highly, recommend! Most pleasurable atmosphere. Great services, delicious food. attractive interior decoration. I would love to visit again.
This place was great and so was the food, and this is coming from a person who is spicy intolerant! Andrew was our server and he was EXCELLENT: not only super polite, but also so respectful and thoughtful. Best server I've had in a long time to be honest. Please give this man a raise! If you are like me and can't handle spicy/hot things, try the chicken makhani for your entree as it seems to be the least spicy of all and I agree, I could tolerate it. The environment is so calm and the ambiance so relaxing, I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely come back given the opportunity!
Very good food and service. Try this place!
Excellent food and service!
This place was amazing. If you are looking for an authentic traditional Indian cuisine, this place is not for you. If you are open to try traditional Indian dishes with a twist (some call it fusion and some call it experimental), this place should be on top of your list. Be it salads or appetizers or entree or specials or desserts - they've come up with their own variations of a wide array of Indian cusines. They serve dosa with a twist - crab dosa! A soft samosa roll with berbecued pork - the taste and ingenuity of it - fingerlicking good. In entree we tried one from their daily specials and from the regular menu and both were good. The laal Maas dish was served with a Malabar paratha. Those cubed soft boneless mutton pieces - heavenly. The color was perfect, smell was perfect and the softness of the succulent pieces - mmm. The Malabar paratha complemented the lal Maas with due diligence. From the specials we ordered a lamb kebab with battered egg on Malabar paratha. We thought it might look like an egg and kebab kaati roll. Instead it looked like lamb kebab taco with egg battered Malabar paratha forming the taco. All in all the experience was great. The interior is upscale, the waiters waited professionally and were eager to help whenever we had questions regarding the menu. There's also a bar so in case you're not interested in Indian cuisine the bar will still standout.
I had mixed emotions about attending a business dinner (6 ppl) here but was very pleasantly surprised at both the Dodd and the service. Our waitress walked us through all of our options and explained some of the dishes that we weren't familiar with. Everything was absolutely delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed the array of food that we ate. I'm unsure of all of the dishes names, but the spinach, lamb, chickpea dish, chicken kabobs, peppers, naan, rita, etc....absolutely incredible. The owner came out at the end of our meal and thanked us for our patronage and expanded that her husband was the chef. Definitely expanded your horizons and give this place s try.
This place was an absolute dream! The layout is nice, the atmosphere is charming (though we did notice about halfway through our meal the music that was playing stopped and never resumed). The food is i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e! I highly recommend the tasting menu- it is absolutely the way to go. The tandoori tuna is one of the most amazing dishes I've ever had. I also really liked the sea bass which was a special- so be on the lookout for daily specials as they are an unforgettable experience.
