When we first moved to Pleasant Hills 4 years ago, this place was amazing every time and we went fairly often. Over the last year or so, the quality has slumped off just a bit and it's now just your average Asian buffet. You can notice this in the little things like how the last three times we've been there that the Iced Cream barrels are almost always empty even during dinner prime. The taste of the food has also had a slight decline, too, but maybe that's just us getting used to it? I doubt it. Would still recommend but only during cheaper lunch/off hours.

I've been here other times and the food was good. I've always enjoyed it but this time i was very unsatisfied. The food was dry and I'd say over cooked or maybe just sat there on the steam tables to long without being changed out. It was my sons birthday and he was really excited to go but like I said, this time was very disappointed in the place!

Beware of the charges to your credit card (debit) they over charged me $137.00 to my credit card (acted like they didn't understand English) when brought to their attention!!! With that said they corrected my account and sent me gift cards. The food is really good and I will eat here again.

Great food with a wide selection of Chinese and some American dishes. Dessert and ice cream were so good and fancy. Loved everything I tried (couldn't try everything). I drove 30 minutes to eat here, and it was worth it. I came a few minutes before 4:00pm and asked if I can pay Lunch rate $7.95 instead of Saturday Dinner rate $13.95, and the lady was super nice that she just told me not to eat from Special Dinner plates, which was fine for me. Nice staff who fill your water once it is over and take your empty plates without asking. By far the best Chinese Buffet I tried in Pittsburgh. Hope it has a closer branch to Downtown

The food is okay. It is nothing special. They don't tend to the buffet very well. Things that I wanted you could tell weren't touched for a long time because it was hard on top. The servers are rude and when you ask for a refill they act like you are bothering them. They also try and push you out as fast as they can even though they raised their prices. Next time we will be choosing a different place to eat. I can't imagine this restaurant staying open much longer.

My first visit. The place is typical of a large cafeteria, but a little more dimly lit. I visited during lunch time. While not crowded, there were a fair number of dinners. The buffet appears to be popular with the 60+ crowd, and those with young children. They had a good selection, and the staff were very friendly.

Great dining experience. There is a vast array of appetizers, entrees and a dessert assortment. Price is very fair and the food quality and taste are well worth the money and your time. As for children too, there is pizza, chicken tenders and fries just in case they're not open to Chinese food. I will return.

A huge assortment of food! Everything was fresh and delish. They also have a hibachi included in the price you load up everything you want cooked choose from fresh veggies, chicken, shrimp, steak, crab and more. Give it to the cook to grill in front of you. All the favorite foods and more. Sushi is included too and my husband liked their sushi better than a nearby restaurant. Great friendly service and lots of desserts too. All this and with 2 dinners with 2 beverages only $29.62. Nice place.

This was like the shriveled up day old leftovers of an already poor buffet. They didn't bring out anything new while we were there other than refilling the duck sauce. Everything was picked over and been sitting a while so it was slim pickings. The sushi had been sitting a while and the outer rice on it was hardening. I'm very sorry I actually ate there and suffered for it the rest of the night. It was the most over priced suffering I have endured in some time. Waiters were polite and good with drinks and plates tho.

The service was great. I barely put my fork down and the dirty plate was removed. I saw frequent exchanges of old trays of food for new ones and the bacon wrapped chicken was excellent. The raw items on the sushi/hibachi section however were not replaced the entire time I was there.

Went there for lunch today and the food was excellent! There's a large selection of Chinese food, seafood, sushi, and American food. They have a fruit, ice cream, create your own stir fry, and sushi bar. We had no wait, were greeted by a friendly waiter, and were welcomed back by a man specifically thanking people for stopping in. Everything was clean and our plates were quickly removed from the table after we finished each one. All of the food was hot and fresh! I'll definitely stop back!

Good lunch selection & price. Lunch for 2 is like $20. It also tends to be quiet & filled with mostly elderly people. Dinner gets a bit more pricey & brings a trashy crowd, so avoid that unless you're trashy or willing to put up with that crowd. Dinner service offers crab legs which bring 500lbs people that will literally take all the crab legs & leave none for everyone else. So yeah, lunch is where it's at here. A good bit cheaper & a lot less trashy.

Great service and great food for the price. Fresh sushi and hibachi bars as well as a stocked buffet that has something for everyone. Highly recommend their coconut shrimp, greenbeans and dumplings. Have been able to request custom sushi rolls made fresh. Always remember to tip your hibachi chef

The food is good. Not bad. For $7.95 for lunch is great. The choice of sushi is limited. The food is hot and always been refresh. The waiter is quick and clean as soon as your plate is empty. I love the sweet cream cheese puff. I give 3 because I wish the choice for sushi is more, hot sauce /siracha and the food is hit and miss.

One of the few Asian buffets left in the area, it serves a nice variety of dishes (including sushi) and it is pretty good overall. It's reasonably priced and very clean, with ample seating. Each time one of this type of restaurant closes down, another signature dish goes with it - I miss the steamed buns and crystal dumplings that were staples of some of their predecessors - but this place has a decent variety. I don't like their steak, but it's not a steakhouse, after all.

First time here and incredibly impressed. Lunch was only $8.99 and was superb! Fresh, piping hot, handmade, and delicious. The menu choices, for lunch, were well beyond my expectations! The bacon wrapped chicken, stuffed shrimp, Mongolian beef, stuffed potato skins that I am still drooling about!! Cant give enough compliments to all who prepared and presented such an incredible meal for me!! Counting the days until I can come back!

It's your typical Chinese buffet. We've been here a few times in the last few years and it's quality is consistently slightly better than mediocre. I will say the Hibachi is better than what's available on the buffet line. This time I tried the chicken wings and fries and was disappointed. The wings were simply not good. They tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The fries taste like anything you'd buy from the frozen food section. The General Tso's was a little chewy, but not too bad. Overall for $11 at diner time it wasn't too bad.

The FORTUNE STAR ASIAN GRILL IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT! THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD. I USALLY GET IT TO GO, BUT THIS TIME WE DECIDED TO EAT THERE AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS CLEAN AND PLEASANT. FOOD WAS RELATIVELY HOT, STEAK WAS TENDER AND EASY TO CHEW. AND ALL MY FAVORITES WHERE THERE TO ENJOY!

Usually, my boyfriend and I don't have a bad experience here. But this afternoon was different. It seems they've lowered the quality of the meat they're using. Dare I say it's Soylent Green. Every piece of meat we got was extremely grisly and chewy and completely inedible. It's very hard finding a decent Chinese buffet place anymore and this used to be at the top of the list. I think I'll just make Chinese at home now.

This had got to be the BEST buffet in Pittsburgh. I loved everything I tried and there are so many choices, I couldn't try everything. The sushi is top notch and the Mongolian grill has only the freshest food. The place is spotless, and the restrooms are as beautiful as the rest of the decor. I will definitely be back here, and would recommend this place to anyone who likes food.

The food is. Good but kind.of.watered down and Bland. The convenience of the location makeup for the food. The staff are friendly on a scale of 1 to 10 this food is a 3 with 10 being excellent however the cost was what I would consider a little high at $15 per person for the buffet on a Saturday evening including tax tip and a drink. The place was not busy and it was certainly better then any of the traditional American style fast food drive-thru restaurants in the area for Area I consider this one of the better choices

My 1st time there. My brother was there numerous times. We went for the lunch buffet. For $7.95 it was totally amazing! Service was wonderful and the food was great. I came home and told my husband about it and we went back a few days later. They never let dirty dishes on your table. Cannot say enough about this place. Our new favorite.

This place is bad. First off half way through meal we look over and the hibachi cook is standing there picking his nose while cooking . food on buffet not good at all. And then to boot 15min after eating massive stomach ache and had me and rest of family fighting for bathroom half the night. Never again. And to boot smells of cleaning supplies non stop cause wait staff has nothing to do they are cleaning the booth and floors around you entire time you are eating their booger infused food.. No thanks!

Well-sized buffet with an extensive selection of food that is frequently attended to in order to ensure that it's always fresh. Sushi selection isn't huge but comparable to other buffets. I usually go there when they're charging the lunch rate and get water to drink, meaning I walk out spending less than $10, which is nearly impossible to do at any sit-down restaurant nowadays

Because she knows that the only place I enjoy dining at is the Fortune Buffet, she follows her question with, let me guess, the buffet." Folks, let me tell you. The experience here is superb. The environment is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the temperature of the food is just what it should be to be enjoyable. Great food for a reasonable price. Would give caution if you have irritable bowels for the food could cause you to use the restroom shortly after finishing your food. Not that the food quality is bad, just might upset your stomach.

The buffet that was located here before this one was much better, but this one is not horrible. They do have incredible meatballs in the afternoon, and cream cheese puffs all day long that are delicious. Unfortunately their tilapia, steak, and ham are never very good. Dried out and lacking flavor. They also have a bad selection of sushi, which I don't eat very often because I've gotten food poisoning from them before. Everything else on the menu is fine though, and safe to eat. We do eat there often, and I'd eat there again, but I hope they follow better food handling preparations in the future.

Bad customer service! I ordered bottle water. Should have said then that they do not have it. They brought me a cup filled with city water. I already had my food at that point, so I had to go get my own bottle water from the car. By the time I got back my food was cold. And they wanted to charge me for wanting to get hot food. All of that could have been avoided if they would have said they did not have bottle water when I ordered it. Food is okay here. Not much of a variety in my mind. Nothing but beef chicken or crab meat......

We saw the restaurant and decided to trycit out. Very spacious and many seats. Many food selections for buffet, and their sushi and hibachi bar are included to buffet! You don't usually find an asian buffet restaurant that offers sushi and hibachi. They also serve American food (burgers, fries, fried chicken) for the children and for those not ready to eat fully Asian food. Also, they have a semi-private room for parties.

As far as buffets go I dont generally give more than 3 stars as there is little, if anything, unique about stuffing yourself until you cant move. That is definitely not a problem here. It is my second, and most likely last, visit to this establishment. I visited today, Saturday, in the mid afternoon. The place was half fully seated at best. The buffet was almost empty. Many of the dishes had a serving or two at the most and there was little urgency getting them refilled. Several dishes in the 35 minutes I spent were never refilled. The items I did sample were bland. I will say the staff were very quick on bussing off tables and keeping the place clean. Other than that, I'd rather have gone to a fast food place in the plaza and spent less.

I have gone to this place several times and I keep convincing myself that the last visit wasn't that bad and after each visit I remind myself that it, indeed, is that bad. The food appears to have been on the warming trays for an extended period of time. Upon tasting it, one realizes that it has, and should no longer be consumed by humans. They always have the same bland items, soups have no flavor and PLEASE remove the frozen pizza from the buffet. Great selection of entrees! The buffet seating is in a booth which provides a level of privacy. Ambiance: great lighting, be sure to check out the detailed scenery in the glass at the entrance. The fish was cooked perfectly. There is also a Hibachi and sushi station.

Pretty good service although a few times the food was raw or undercooked and I became sick. I do however have a great time here overall. Just watch for the steak and chicken and fish. They have a really good buffet and deserts. I will be coming here again. By the way you must try their friend rice and sweet and so it chicken it is the best.
