An amazing little cafe with authentic French food. I love the PB&J crepe and their bacon. You really can't go wrong here. I recommend coming on a week day if you can or as soon as they open in the morning on the weekend.
Well, I love this place. I love their food starting from savory crepes to sweet crepes. You definitely should come to try my favorite crepe which is Super Belgium.
Small, intimate space with friendly staff serving delicious crepes. The smoked salmon crepe is delicious especially with an egg added!
Light, tasty breakfasts and lunches, as well as some deliciously decadent sweet treats. Friendly service in a funky little cellar setting. One of my favorite morning spots in the city
This is one of my favourite places for breakfast in Pittsburgh, I visit it several times a month. It's a wonderful place to sit and have a nice relaxed breakfast with a friend or two. Seating is limited, however, and it's a small place, so …
Everything's delicious - this is our weekly brunch spot. Never any leftovers
Great crepes, comes with a really good side salad.
Lovely French Cafe, reminded me of my visit to Paris. And they have good coffee as well!
Delicious food. Great environment and friendly staff. The coffee and crepes were excellent.
Ordered via Postmates so don't know what the interior was like. I got the Amsterdam french toast with turkey sausage and eggs. French toast wad great, though the bananas were a little too ripe for my liking. Eggs, sausage, and OJ good too. Excited to stop in and fully check the place out.
Awesome crepes! The Sofia is DELICIOUS
Rather small but very cute. Great food!! Highly recommend
The best breakfast restaurant in Pittsburgh especially in sbady side. It is French restaurant, and they are making thear food by French way, if have not been there before you are losing a big chance to try Europe breakfast. I really recommend this place for breakfast only. And easy to find a parking lot outside or near of this place.
Great quaint and cozy atmosphere. Such a hidden gem. I recommend the classic French toast and the vanilla chai tea...especially the tea. Stop in, say hello and while you're at it treat yourself to some amazing food. You'll be glad you did.
Yummy crepes
Incredible breakfast food, coffees, and service
We visited this establishment on a weekend morning. We had to wait half an hour to get a table but since it was off of Walnut Street there was plenty to do while waiting. They gave us the option to share a table with another small party and I jumped at the chance as I love meeting new people. We both ordered different sweet crepes and they hit the spot. They were perfect portions and intriguing ingredients. I got beef sausages as a side, I forget what they are named but they were delicious and not something I had seen in any other restaurant. Space was a bit tight, but that was because this joint is so good!
Friendly service.
exceeded expectations both in decore and food. hit all the right notes of savory and sweet.
I had a breakfast bleow cheesecake. It was great. I wanna a visit again.
Fantastic food, great service.
There can be a wait but the food is awesome. Also good coffee, I'd definitely go back
Simply delicious. Clean, calm and friendly. We had crepes with ham and cheese, with salmon (alaska) and a belgian one... all perfect. I wish we discovered this place earlier.
First visit. Small place. A bit tight, but very tasty food and drinks. Worth putting up with closeness.
Fantastic menu items, great service. I opted for savory crepe and a few rounds of coffee. Showing up early, I had the place nearly to myself but it did fill up fast.
Best brunch place in Pittsburgh
As a French guy I came into this place with expectations...not automatically expectation of tradition but expectations of taste...good crepes have been part of 'pleasure meals' since I am a little kid. And the place delivered. Originality, decor, service...and just great food at a good price. We will be back
Great, relaxed atmosphere . Friendly efficient service. Good food! Not an inexpensive breakfast however.
Delicious crepes and cafe latte!
Nice place to dine
Great 'underground' little cafe. The latte was delicious, the crepe was good too.
Nice Ambience and amazing food. Staff was very polite and managed the crowds well. Wait was 15 mins on a Sunday and well worth it. Parking can be an issue, but it is true for whole of that area.
Cute and cozy little place, very friendly staff and good menu selections. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because my food was just okay and I was pestered by fruit flies a bit.
Fantastic food... Wonderful atmosphere. Great old world charm.
Cafe Moulin, located in a basement, has a relatively cozy atmosphere. Their crepes are made with fresh ingredients and are pleasant to the eyes with very good to excellent presentation. We were greeted by a gracious host and enjoyed …
Friendly waitstaff and great selection
Good crepes, great place for casual dressing
Delicious food, great service!
Walnut French toast was amazing and the coffe was delicious!
I loved this little cafe. The salad and the crepe were both outstanding. These people obviously know what they're doing! I beat the rush, so I didn't have to wait for a table, but shortly after I got there I did see several people waiting. Get there early! The food is worth it!
Good breakfast at a solid price. Limited space and menu but very friendly service and quick turnaround for food. I recommend a visit.
The crepes are amazing. Cozy atmosphere and coffee is exquisite!
Great place!
It was first time we came here. I liked this place because of super nice employees, very yummy crepes and amazing coffee which is even better than in Starbucks. If you love coffee, you need to try it here. My latte was perfect for me
Amazing crepes, quality is authentic but still Pittsburgh enough for my tastes
It's got the best crepes I've had in Pittsburgh.
I loved the atmosphere this place had but I have to say, there wasn't much room to sit at, and the bathrooms are small. I had to wait 10 minutes before I could use the bathroom. But overall, the food was great, the service was awesome.
Lovely little hole-in-the-wall cafe with proper and authentic French crepes as their specialty. We lived in Europe for three and a half years and this truly is the real deal. Very friendly and prompt customer service. Be prepared to wait, as this is a very popular Cafe. Copy braces are also very good. I tried the Turkish coffee and it was excellent. Only complaint was that they serve the Turkish coffee directly in your espresso cup, rather than bring you the cast iron carafe to keep the coffee warm longer.
Holy smokes this place is good! The place itself is very cozy- love the entrance and the fact that the restaurant is underground. Had the ham and Swiss crepe which was delicious- having the side salad along with it was extremely refreshing and I have to wonder why EVERY SINGLE breakfast place does not serve the same? All of the positive reviews for this place are no joke- check it out!
Best breakfast place in town so far, I have had all items on the menu. very cute and cozy place, servers are friendly, super nice and helpful. Delicious and well designed coffees:) I definitely recommend this place
Cafe Moulin is a cozy breakfast/brunch place right off of Walnut Street. The seating is tight, so couples do well and groups of four, but it's not really for larger groups. A friendly waitress immediately noticed I was there and I got a table for two quickly. The coffee was good and kept coming. I had a savory crepe with smoked turkey and goat cheese. It was delicious and I had some to take home. We lingered a bit over coffee and were not hurried out.
Perfectly delicious!
The food was excellent and the service was good too. The place is small inside so big groups might be difficult.
Awesome crepes! Everything is fresh and made from scratch and made to order. The servers are extremely friendly and take the time to get to know you. We like to go as soon as they open when it's not as crowded. Super busy closer to the noon hour, very difficult to find parking and a pretty long wait to get seated.
I ate at Cafe Moulin, and it was delicious!
Crepes are delicious, service was very good and the staff is super friendly.
Love this place.
WHATEVER YOU GET, ORDER THE SAUSAGE WITH IT
One of the best breakfast places! Went with two kiddos and they loved it! Will highly recommend this place!
Small, yummy menu. Friendly, attentive service. Cozy atmosphere (all but 2-3 tables are 2-tops), perfect for catching up on quality time with a loved one.
Long story short, the food and location was mind blowing. However, the service was sub-par. The waitress barely came by through the duration of our visit. She only came for the orders and the check. She never once refilled our waters. Nevertheless, my date and I loved the food and the restaurant itself has a great cozy aesthetic to it.
If I could do so, I would give this 4.5 stars. However, I cannot. So, I will give this a very positive 4 stars. This is a great place to enjoy a wonderful taste of something different at an affordable price. The staff were attentive, and …
Busy, as expected on a Sunday in Shadyside. The service could’ve been better, but the food was great!
This is quaint french bistro with a great atmosphere and an excellent menu. The food was fresh and great quality.
The crepes here are delicious and perfectly sized, with plenty of variety. My personal favorites are the Bristol and the Halle Berry.
The BEST breakfast & crèpes in Pittsburgh by far.
The crepes are amazing and the price is right. Alex was our waiter again and he is just amazing! He is extremely attentive and he can make the best cup of Turkish coffee. I highly recommend his service AND his coffee.
My only complaint: Only scrambled eggs. Why?! Anyways, French toast was fantastic. Lattes were good. Would return.
Very disappointed. It was good but so many better places especially for the price.
I went on a Friday afternoon around noon. I was seated immediately. I had the Bristol Crepe ( $10 total including tip) and it was AMAZING! I’m not a Crepe expert but I’ve had them at a few places in Houston and in Washington. This was hands down the best one I’ve ever had. It was filled the perfect amount and was the perfect level of fluffy. The service was great and I wish it was local so I could go all the time.
YUM. Delicious crepes with the fluffiest eggs. Decadent sweet crepes and french toasts (some of the best french toast I've ever had). Delicious coffee. You can't go wrong at Cafe Moulin.
Too busy, 4 why??
Service was a bit slow, but was Saturday morning Rush. Good food. It looked like there for most dietary restrictions
Top notch food and a lovely cozy ambiance. Impressive coffee selection as well. Would and have recommended to a friend. Service was average, and it can get a tad busy, but they work hard to make up for both. Still a solid 5/5 imo.
Best crepes in town. Get there early because it gets crowded fast and the place is small. Worth the wait though
small cozy basement eatery. worth finding parking for!
Their savory crepes are too small and not that great. Too expensive for the small portions.
Crepes to die for. They close at 4. We'll be back.
Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful
The Belgian chocolate crepe is pretty good
Great selection of crepes!
Great food! Found my new favorite place for breakfast/brunch in Pittsburgh!
Known for their wraps, this French Toast would have benefited from more time in the custard, but it had really good flavor... The Turkish sausage was great!
Wonderful crepes!!!
Probably some of the best crepes I've had outside of France. The ambiance is warm and intimate but casual. Both our savory and sweet crepes tasted delicious. My latte was beautiful and smooth, and I'm very picky about my lattes. My son had the Nutella hot chocolate and basically everyone at the table kept trying to steal sips of it. Highly recommended.
Went here this past weekend for breakfast and it was very good. The service was quick even with just one waitress and the food was good. The price was reasonable for the size of the dishes. If you want to save yourself from a massive sugar rush, stay away from the fresh toast with the strawberry sauce and goat cheese (not to mention it was just a weird combination in my opinion). Just go with the classic french toast and have the toppings on the side as you want them. Also, if you order OJ ask for ice in it if you like your OJ cold.
4.5 stars. A quaint little shop with kind staff and tasty eats. Runs a bit pricey, but is expected for this area of town. French toast was impressively fluffy and they didn't skimp on the added fruit. Worth checking out.
super i really love it everyone should try it
I had the salmon crepe. It was delicious and not too pricey. The basement dining room is cozy and we got a seat immediately on a Sunday morning, which seems like it might be an anomaly, but it was great. The service was a little slow, but it was good food. I really want to return to try more of the sweet and savory options.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Loved the place and had been going there for years. It is one of my parents favorite breakfast place. I recently went there and pretty much felt rushed the entire time and towards the end as my dad was still finishing up his coffee, a staff person came to my family and I and told us that they had a long line and to pretty much get going. Did not appreciate feeling rushed and did not feel welcomed. Hopefully, customer service is something that they will improve in the future.
great place! very friendly owners/employees & food is AMAZING. if you haven’t come here for breakfast you’re missing out.
They sat us really quickly even though it was crowded, and the food and coffee was excellent. I was sick with a cold the day I went, and noticed that the servers were also busing all the tables, and touched my dirty plate before immediately serving someone else's food. I'm sure this happens all the time in the industry, but I was especially conscious of it because I could have got a lot of other people sick. Something to keep in mind.
Great spot for Breakfast. i will be bringing friends next time.
Charming little French crepe restaurant. Refreshingly different on the food end, the secret gem is their cafe drink selections. The wait staff is always friendly as well, a definite must go if in the area.
Stopped in with a friend showing me the city and I loved it! Lively little Cafe with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered the Sofia and a Cappuccino and both were phenomenal. Would highly recommend for a quick bite to eat!
Perfect food at a really good price. I had to take a star off because the hostess mis-represented the wait time. If we had known it would be 45 minutes we would have gone somewhere else, but we stayed and sat because we were told 15-20 minutes.
Good food, price is a little steep for what is offered though.
Cozy little local place. Great French toast and crepes, really good sandwiches too. Good service. Moderately priced.
People are very nice. Food is overpriced and crepes are sparse. Sandwiches are good
THE BEST BRUNCH restaurant in Pittsburgh. Frankly speaking, this place is one of the best brunch restaurant that I've ever visited during my whole life. Its egg-travaganzas are great and crepes are excellent as well. You can have all of these at a reasonable price.
Absolutely delicious!
First time there. Wonderful wonderful food. The service was friendly and fast.
What a great hidden treasure. Wonderful food, and the service to suit it . Loved it . Will be back.
Fair. Food: 4 stars. Too sweet, but delicious. Service: 3 stars. Two only. There are so many things to do, and they are overburdened. We seat for a long time waiting for them. Environment: 3 stars. The noise from open kitchen is annoying, and you can clearly hear other people’s conversations. For people who want to enjoy their time, it’s not a good place.
First time I have ever fell in love with the crepes I ate. Delightful underground feel to the place. Some outdoor seating as well.
It's all crepes and some french toast. I was invited to give here and I usually wouldn't due to the food options, but I had a decent time. The coffee was nice, and my crepes with goat cheese was okay. Not my kind of breakfast food but it's not a bad place
Fantastic French cafe! If you like tea you will love theirs. Variety of crepes, sandwiches and salads. Fruit was incredibly fresh. Service is attentive and friendly. Best brunch/lunch in Shadyside!
Delicious food & friendly service.
Gluten free Classic French toast: Delicious
I came with my friend on a Monday afternoon and got to sit down with no wait. We both ordered the Super Belgium (I believe, the one with the cookie butter) It was very good, wish I could've substituted the chocolate sauce for caramel, but I still enjoyed it. And usually when I order something with powdered sugar, I expect winter-is-here amounts of it on the food, but no problem. If you ask for a straw they provide compostable ones, environmentally conscious! It's a small-ish place with a very casual feel. I loved the playlist playing in the background, good experience overall. Thanks!
We have visited Cafe Moulin on several occasions. We have never once been disappointed with the food they have a great mix of savory and sweet crepes, along with some other items as well. However, one problem is that they are wait only no reservations. Furthermore, they have very little wait room inside the restaurant which is fine when the weather is nice. During the winter though you have no choice but to stand out in the cold. Otherwise a great location for Brunch.
Delicious ham & swiss with eggs
Went there for brunch. Delicious food, small portions, very busy. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Four stars because it is a bit overpriced- especially considering the portions.
Best crepes & great atmosphere!
Their foods were amazing, and the servers were friendly and helpful.
On a visit to Carnegie Mellon, thought we would give this place a try. Food was good, but extra $.50 for ice coffee on top of the $2.99 cost for coffee? Apparently our waitress didn’t know about it either and no mention of extra $.50 for ice on the menu. Don’t mind paying but would be nice to see the extra cost on menu somewhere.
Cool spot with unique food, great service. Feels very "Euro." Great for brunch or lunch.
