This restoran was highly recommended to me by a few people. I've heard that it was the best place for stake lovers. And they didn't lie - Probably the best stake I ever tried. Yet, not just stakes... Everything from appetizer to dessert was amazing even biscuits. Atmosphere there is something special. So if you have a special occasion definitely check it out. Our dinner was about $200 (1 appetizer, 2 stakes, 1 side, 1 dessert and 1 glass of wine).

This place was distinguished. I cannot even begin to explain but what I can put in words was that the ambiance was great. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The wait staff were on point with details. They really took dinning to a different level.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I don't think there are enough superlatives in the English language to adequately describe an evening at Butcher & Singer. This restaurant is a throw back to a gone by era, of beautiful woods, low, ambient light, and fabulous background music that creates the feeling of class, romance and intimacy. Even though the restaurant was full, we never felt a "crowded presence, " or rushed. It was a perfect place for a little family celebration. We had a reservation (of course), but graduation festivities didn't take as long as we expected, so we were an hour early. We were politely directed to the lounge, where we were made to feel like honored guests, enjoying drinks and biscuits and before we knew it the hour had passed and our table was ready. Our server Marshall, never missed a beat. The food was a culinary experience of a lifetime! Appetizers, oysters on the half shell, with incredible cocktail sauce creation, and shrimp cocktail (enormous shrimp) were delights to the palate. Then the steaks, not a better, more perfectly prepared steak on the planet. The sides, stuffed hash browns, creamy creamed spinach, and asparagus were phenomenal. Not sure how they accomplish the stuffed hash browns, but I am glad they did, because they were out of this world amazing. Sadly we didn't have room for dessert, but that just means we definitely have to go back, and I can hardly wait. If you're in Philly, this is worth every penny. It's not just a restaurant, it's a dining experience!

They must have had a bad moment with us. $150 worth of steaks (2 porterhouses) were both a good bit over cooked. This was validated by our outstanding server and the Maitre'd. We were offered replacements but the 45 minutes we already spent at our table made that a no go. As stated the service was outstanding and the sides were fabulous (roasted cauliflower, creamed spinach, their stuffed potato hash). The Maitre'd did comp the steaks.

Fabulous Food and Service, Lovely Evening. We ordered appetizers including Escargot which was very good, lobster also very good, Eastern oysters excellent. Surf and Turf was fantastic. Steaks and lamb chops wonderful. Potato pancake must be ordered. The chocolate fudge cake was incredible. Knowledgeable waiter helped with wines. Fantastic evening, great ambience.

Amazing food and service. We went for mother's day and every dish from apeatizer to dessert was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. The thing to order is definitely the Delmonico as it is delicious especially cooked to the chefs recommendation. Lovely place to eat although the music was a little loud I would definitely go back.

Group from conference gathered for dinner. Biggest complaint were rib eyes weren't prepared as requested. Overdone and dry. Water only half filled and no ice. Otherwise, it was very enjoyable and great service.

This was suggested as a friend (and former local) as the best steakhouse in Philly. It did not disappoint. I would come here for the biscuits alone, with their incredible flaky, buttery, pillowy wonderfulness. But the you would miss out on wonderful seafood appetizers, perfectly prepared cuts off beef as your main course, and Singer fries. Unfortunately, we were stuffed after all that and had no room for dessert which looked equally awesome. We would love to come back.

Was on vacation, so i knew i had to take Patco over to Philly one of those days, and have a butcher burger. Unfortunately it's only served at lunch time, so i can never get it when I'm working. Don't get me wrong, their dinner is amazing to, but there is something about the butcher burger that I crave. Maybe it's the special sauce, the fresh, top grounded up beef, or the fresh house made fries. You just need to try it. Price has gone up quite a bit from when i first started going, but it's still worth it in my opinion. If you're in the city, and haven't been there for lunch, then what are you waiting for! Don't let it's high end surroundings keep you from going.

One of the best steaks we’ve had ever! You can tell the seasoning on the steak had been done to perfection, with no need for a sauce accompaniment (though you could request if you wanted to). Meat was tender and melt-in-your-mouth. Must order the stuffed Hash Browns (basically Swiss rösti stuffed with sour cream)! Dessert was also great - key lime pie is highly recommended!

Service, food, and drinks are all executed flawlessly. I've tried every major steakhouse in the city, and this has to be my favorite. The steaks are obviously great, but the French onion soup is an unsung gem on the menu. From the bar, the Sazerac is the best in the city. It's hard to get one made with the right balance, but they nail it every time.

From the moment we walked in without a reservation, the employees of Butcher and Singer made our last evening in Philadelphia amazing! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on recommendation on the menu. The biscuits are absolutely spot on delicious and the food made to perfection. Between the wonderful personally treatment and conversation to the best meal we've had, seven stars seems right for a rating here.

Nice place for a special event night. Top notch service and excellent menu. Best porterhouse that I have had in many years. Enough choices and specials for most every pallette. For 6, drinks, appetizers, salad, entrees, sides, and dessert came to $500 + tip.
