Over the years I have been fortunate to eat at some of the finest restaurants that NYC has to offer. Well move over Manhattan, Brian's has thrown down the gauntlet and more than meets the challenge. The meal was superb. From Crab Risotto to Duck Confit, each dish was executed perfectly. Each had a subtle nuance of flavor, which allowed one to taste each of the components. And hats off to Jaime for running a friendly efficient staff.

This is our #1 place. We have been coming here for over five years now. Staff is awesome and we have never had a bad choice in food. Steak is on point, the duck is perfect and try the tuna appetizer!! This is also in really cool town that is across the bridge from new hope. Great for a weekend trip or out on a warm night.

Really nice place to eat! Great food and service.

Great food, great service, great portions

Excellent meals in a smaller space. Open kitchen offers entertainment as you can glance as to how the kitchen and staff are operating. White table clothes create element of class but this is a two seating per night venue and you must be out by 8:00 if you chose the 6:00 seating. BYOB is the icing on the cake!

Good selection of food. Felt like vacation in Italy and France. BYOB to enjoy your own vine selection.

Brian's is an experience. The food is exquisite, the staff is delightful and location recently went through a renovation and is now even more cozy than before. I love Brian! Being a proprietor and chef you might think he would be a bit to busy to talk to you, however you often find him mingling and delivering the food direct to your table and taking the time to explain his course in detail. If you find yourself in Lambertville, NJ you have to make time to visit this eatery. Be aware, it books up quickly so call way in advance of your visit. The whole experience will leave you happy, content and yearning for a future visit! I'm off to Brian's new restaurant Nola's in Stockton, NJ another perfect location that you won't believe that it's located in such a small village. You might expect it in Soho or TriBeCa on a little corner but not so close to home. Thanks Brian, S.

We will NEVER return to this place! Hell no! My friend had a reaction to her food and got very sick. The “manager” was very argumentative & rude and showed not one ounce of compassion. Although I wanted to get my friend out of there ASAP so she could breathe some fresh air and be home to relax and recover, it took the “manager” more than 30 minutes to call Brian (the owner) to get permission to comp my friend’s meal and then figure out how to do it. Even after that, we still had to argue with her. She did acknowledge that she was aware that my friend vomited and stated “yeah, I know, now I have to clean up the bathroom”. No sympathy, no kind words. Horrible costumer service. With all of the wonderful choices to dine in Lambertville and New Hope, I would NOT recommend this place! My next call is to the Dept of Health. We’re really disgusted.

Small gem of a restaurant in Lambertville. Excellent food and service with a fair priced 3 course dinner. BYO really makes ut a bargain for such excellent quality food.

Two stars. The food was good, I took cheese ravioli and NY steak. The price 50$ per person and only cash... Excuse me, but if you charge 50 bucks and add 10 bucks for steak and 5 bucks for risotto hide these as a supplement ? Come on... You are so greedy to fix your AC but have impudence to chase for your customer on the street and yell about tips. Shame on you. Never come back.

Brian's has undergone some changes since opening. As of summer 2016, executive chef/owner, Brian, has put together a true "A-Team" of culinary stars to bring us what may be the best dining experience in the area - a real feat given the numerous fine restaurants around Lambertville and New Hope. Every meal I've had there has been delicious. Inspired by classic French cuisine, Brian's brings us dishes like sweetbreads which are simply fantastic. And his hand-made pastas are some of the most delicate and flavorful I've ever had. We're truly fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber in our area. Normally, you'd have to go into the city to find food at this level. It's definitely on my short list of places to go when I want the best food.

I was here for the first time last night with friends who are here weekly. Now I know why they love it so much! The food was amazing, everything was cooked just right and I actually took my time eating because I wanted to enjoy it. I'm very picky with what I eat but I was comfortable with the menu. I highly recommend the chicken, it was great!

Brian's of Lambertville is simply perfection. The food is unbelievable- Always beautifully presented with unique preparations, and most of all delicious. Great portion sizes - it really is a restaurant to impress. The single thing that brings us back again and again, whether it's for date-night or for a business meeting, is the STAFF!. More than efficient, the open concept kitchen allows you to watch your food being prepared, and the Manager/Waitress Jamie makes you feel like your family. She remembers your name, special food requests, and even where you like to sit - EVERY TIME! It's like eating with friends in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend Brian's !

Aside from a bit of crowding in the small space, the experience at Brian's was uniformly positive for our party of 4. All enjoyed really great appetizers, satisfying but not outsize entrees and truly memorable desserts. The white chocolate bread pudding was simply fantastic (and I'm a bread pudding nut, so that says a lot).

Brian’s is a small, casual restaurant with good, not great food. Don’t expect to be wowed. I found that the recipes were old fashioned, and not particularly healthy. The Prix-fix price of $50 per person was never mentioned to us when we made our reservation.

Our go-to place for hand-made food that is tasty and inventive. The staff is wonderful and makes you feel at home. BYOB aspect is convenient but the fact that they do not accept credit cards is not (you can pay by check though). We have dined at Brian's many time and have enjoyed everything there. You will not be disappointed.

All 4 of us in my family had a wonderful meal served by attentive warm and professional staff in a delightful atmosphere. All three prix fix courses were superb. We recommend the goat cheese raviolis for a starter - Our favorite entree was the wild salmon fillet with perfect risotto- desserts were delicious - I was so inspired by the hot poached pineapple topped with ice cold vanilla ice cream that I made the dish myself the next day. This is a winner in Lambertville , New Jersey. Enjoy!

We have been to Brian's a few times and everything has been great. Just went again on a Sunday. They charge more for the same food/prix fixe menu Fri-Sun. I realized that although I'm not sure why. So more money and yet, the portions were noticeably smaller this time. It still tasted good so we did not make an issue out of it. We eat, pay in full, leave a tip and walk out. The server came running out after us requesting (quite assertively) more money/higher tip. Really? That's tacky and flat out begging. We gave her more money to appease her inner hustler but that was a real turn off. That was distasteful, uncalled for, greedy of her, awkward and unpleasant. We will not be going back.

I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars. The food was awesome. There was four of us, and everyone of us did not have a drop left on our plates. We were a little early for our reservation, but had looked inside and seen there were at least 6 tables open. So we decided to go in. The server did not like the fact that we were a little early. From the server side it went down hill. We found ourselves asking for a lot of stuff that is normally offered. Like fresh ground pepper. We will be going back for sure because the food was really good and out weighted the service.

Went on Sunday evening. Food was wonderful, but the noise level is ridiculous. And it wasn't that folks were being loud, it's just awful acoustics. I am usually able to ignore sound levels, but not this time. Really impacted the experience we had.

Service is excellent, atmosphere is excellent, location is excellent. But the food is hit or miss, which is not easily overlooked given the high price point. Appetizers and dessert were well executed and truly delicious. For a main course I ordered Duck Confit with fried rice. The rice was cooked with an overpowering amount of soy sauce leaving salty as the extremely overwhelming one note flavor. The duck itself was dry - as if it had been well over cooked in a manner making it too crispy/crunchy - and bland. I was not expecting either of these to be possible for duck, especially duck confit, but evidently it is. I will say the other dishes served to our table drew rave reviews (steak and Monk Fish), and our waitress very graciously offered me a different dish which I declined. But my rating is based on my own meal and dining experience, which was poor. And especially disappointing given the price. All in all, I personally will not be back. The other members of our party did not agree with my stance, so I suppose the conclusion here is dine at your own risk. You will either be absolutely thrilled with the experience, or as disappointed as I was. There does not seem to be much in the way of a happy medium at Brian’s.

WoW! What a treat - On So Many Levels!! Hospitality 5/5: I made a reservation for our anniversary dinner at 7; they confirmed via phone. I then asked to change to 8 and received a text back again confirming. Our plans changed Again last minute and we arrived at 7pm anyway with bottle in hand. The hostess figured it out quickly and they were able to accommodate. The place was clearly busy, yet she had a *make it work* moment. We were essentially a-hole customers and they totally provided first class service. Ambiance 4/5: It's quaint, it's romantic, it's tastefully decorated but there is nothing terribly special. I appreciated the noise level for dinner conversation. I have been to some great spots only to have dinner ruined by excessive noise due to poor table configurations or (lack of) textiles. Even without riverside views, this place got it just right. Food 999/5: Prix Fixe. Where do I even start? The food was absolutely delicious. My wife had the tuna tartar which was very fresh. I had the risotto which was also dynamite. The lemon really came through without being overbearing and the rice was just tender enough without being too heavy or creamy. Risotto is hard to get right and the chef nailed it. Next up was the duck and the NY strip. Duck was super tasty and the accompanied rice/veggies were fine, but the steak stole my heart. I've had steaks far and wide. Filets, porterhouses, whatever... I eat a few times a year at Del Friscos and yet this NY strip absolutely killed me. It's on the top 5 steaks I've ever had - no joke. Dessert was two espressos (fab) and berries (okay) as well as bananas foster (magnificent). Downsides? uhmm.. check was a bit slow to come? but again we screwed up the reservation time, so can you really fault an extra 5-10 minutes? No. Seriously... unless you are picking nits over Michelin stars, there are no downsides. This restaurant is a wonderful wonderful place to have dinner. Thank you Brian's for a truly lovely evening!

Well prepared and reasonably priced French influenced American cuisine. Pris fixe menu, byob establishment. Cash only

Tara Gibbons

If you enjoy a high end food and dining experience, Brian's did not disappoint. I like that they have a prix fixe (price fixed) dinner menu that is actually pretty extensive. It's a BYOB which is nice because you can control the selection and cost of the drinks. The atmosphere is artsy/minimalist with off whites, woods and cool large scale art. At the back of the restaurant is an open kitchen with pretty lighting, gently showcasing CIA trained chef "Brian". He's usually busy almost like a wizard making all the meals. It's a small intimate space with wooden tables about a legs length away from each other. Once you walk in, the staff is attentive and professional, but remember this is not your typical Mom and Pop's, it's fine dining...so give the staff time to get to know you. Once they know you, life is good and they will go out of their way to make you happy. The bread is the closest I have tasted to the outstanding bread I love from France. Everything on the menu was presented artfully and was flavorful and tasty. I would surely go back again, with friends and family who appreciate fine dining with prix fixe prices and our own selection of favorite wines.
