So, normally I wouldn't write a review for mistakes...but the handling of the mistakes was so superior, I want to point it out and assure anyone this is worth it. I ordered the summer special, Caprese salad...which comes with sliced Heirloom tomatoes, sliced mozzarella, balsamic maple glaze, lemon vinaigrette, shredded basil on top and a spring salad. I was ignored at the bar, in order to place my order, so I spoke to the two hostesses and they absolutely helped me. Then I got home, and the order was missing half the ingredients..so it appeared. The salad was soggy (so it turns out, they mixed it before and didn't put it on the side, like they should)..it was a mess and unpleasant. So I stopped by, after dropping my food off at my house and asked the hostesses for the items that were missing. They were so nice and asked personally for me. As I'm walking out to the car, I keep looking at the items, and they still don't look right. Turns out, the kitchen gave them strawberry jam. At this point, for the 3rd time walking in..I'm not happy, but the hostesses were so nice, I asked again. this time they went to the cook directly, got exactly (EXACTLY) what was missing...too easy, right? The Head chef knew what was missing, but the other staff is struggling, I think. After all that, I would normally give a 1 star, and not return. But wow, their hostesses were beyond professional, courteous and kind. I wish I'd gotten their names, but today is 7/31 and they were working between 1200 and 1300, while I was there, back and forth.

I love this place but today I actually saw the manager (bald guy) taking food off plates and eating it before it went out to the guests. He never washed his hands. Then went to the next plate. I know you are supposed to check temps, etc. But not sure how I liked seeing it out in front of everyone.

I had the corned beef hash and it was ok. Some of the potatoes were way undercooked. It had good flavor. Also, the server was very inattentive and it wasn't even really that busy.

One of my favorite places to visit while in the area to see my brother and family. Quite the extensive tap list, and I recommend the flight in order to try more than just one! My favorite would be the Rasmussen Imperial Stout, which does come in a smaller glass due to the content. As far as food, the Scottish Eggs were amazing, however, I wish there was more! It would have been plenty if I weren't sharing and once you taste them you won't want to! I've ordered the Fish and Chips each time only because they're to die for! Fried to perfection. If I had to complain about one thing it would be that it is too loud in the restaurant and hard to here the rest of the party. Always has been packed, but we've never had trouble getting a table after long.

Enjoy the food, and good beers, service was exceptionally poor. Went on a slow Sunday night, plenty of staff on, but never really saw our server. I get it if the place is swamped, but getting through an appetizer and 3/4 through my meal before a second beer is delivered? The rest of my party was never even asked about drink refills. Approx. $100 for four of us, could have been a bigger bill if the server ever came by. Won't be in a hurry to head back.

I love coming to this charming restaurant for special occasions. I always start my Black Friday shopping by starting here with breakfast and a bloody marry. I would recommend there cheese soup and if you have never had the Scottish eggs they are a must! Good food good drinks at a reasonable price. The bathrooms are nice and clean as well.

We love this place. The atmosphere is great. Over the years we have ordered a lot of different things off of their menu and have never been disappointed. The closest we got was ordering the spicy Mac and it being really spicy! The drinks are good. I love that they have a great seasonal menu (March is best!) The only complaint I have is that they are fairly pricey sometimes. You can definitely get away with getting one of their cheaper options and be totally satisfied, but if you get an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks, expect to pay $50-60! That being said, we still love it here and continue to go for date night every once in a while.

Upscale spot, with food and drink selection to match. The ambiance is more relaxed, with the bar is in the middle of the restaurant- and has several TVs with sports or music videos going. Food has been consistent, and really great table service

A lot of places have good food. Thirsty lion has great food! The service is always on point and they are eager to provide top customer service. (The one time a mistake was made they took care of us. They went above and beyond to make it right. Really makes a person want to keep going back.) For a gourmet, high quality, sit down restaraunt, it is very well priced. Only negative is it can be a little bit loud at peak hours - not an issue for my family.

Very good rare burgers: nice flavor and texture. Quality beef. Good mild slaw: it doesn't have a strong mayo flavor and just a hint of sweet. I'd prefer more vinegar, but it was crisp, cool, and enjoyable. Tuna roll was a bit chewy, but that's common with most raw cubed tuna (tender raw tuna is expensive & hard to find). Patio seating is limited but comfortable. Dark interior has a cozy pub vibe, and clean/modern decor gives it an upscale feel.

I love this place. Have been going here for over 3 years. Only removed a star because they keep removing the most popular dishes, which just so happen to be my favorite dishes that I get every time I go. Now I have no favorites so I go there less. It's a real bummer.

I could not rave about this place enough. Staff is beautiful, interior is rustic and we'll kept, has the elegance of an upscale restaurant while maintaining a casual vibe. I've never had a bad thing as many times as I've eaten here. I would suggest the spicy Mac n cheese though. MY FAVORITE. Too many beers on tap to count. You won't be disappointed. Great happy hour specials too!

Very cool Gastropub, a lot of TVs and beer to choose from. Located in a nice open air shopping center with retail shops, restaurants, and plenty of parking. The staff were very friendly, and the place was clean and inviting. Super busy with a little wait when we arrived for dinner, but you could definitely grab a drink and watch some sports while you wait. The food was pretty good and service was on point, they have upscale bar appetizers, gourmet style burgers, pizzas , salads etc. All in all this is a great place to grab a casual meal or watch some sports while you eat well.

We had a very nice late lunch. We were promptly greet and seated in a nice quiet corner. Our waiter was friendly and quick. We recieved our meal in a timely fashion. I tored their Impossible burger and was suprised at how much I enjoyed it as I'm not a vegetarian but trying to eat less meat. When we finished our meal we were asked if we wanted our check. The waiter cleaned up the table, returned, and charged us out. Seamless, relaxing, and satisfying.

What a fantastic meal tonight! We had the seasonal pork loin and it was beautiful! The polenta and veggie mix that came with it was out of this world. The customer service was outstanding once we for our server to the table. Only reason its 4 stars instead of 5 is because of our initial wait time after being seated.

The Thirsty Lion is a great place to go for lunch or after work. They have a large selection of drinks and amazing food. The bison burger is juicy and is accented perfectly with cheese.

I ordered the Korean Chicken, the spicy was right on, but the sauce was too rich, it tasted like it was right out of the can. I tried to choked down the second half of the plate but I couldn't do it. The whole meal seemed to be out of the frozen box. I've had better airline food. The atmosphere here is a place to drink, and then have some food while you're drinking and so far, yes you better have 3 beers in ya before you start eating or you might notice the food just ain't that good. Next time I'll stick to a burger. I had nothing complain about the burger last time I was here and the beer sure made it taste better. The crowd looks a bit yuppie and the waitresses seem to prefer serving the people who appear more yuppie, so get your yuppie on before you walk in the door.

Really great food, best fish and chips I've ever eaten! The beer batter was light and crispy and the fish was perfectly cooked! Also had the seasonal strawberry rhubarb white chocolate cheese cake, which was to die for! Didn't have any alcoholic drinks, but some of their concoctions sounded amazing! Service was excellent! My highest recommendation!

The seasonal menu compliments the regular menu so well, that you will love your dish no matter what you choose. Also, the brunch menu (now expanded) is perfect for starting/continuing your weekend plans.

Good service, make sure the grill gets the order correct. Otherwise, the good tastes good with a little price to it, but nothing unusual for dining. There is a 2% service fee to every order.

Appetizer artichokes with cheese, was very nice. Ordered season burger wagiou beef, was good. Salmon was good, not the best but ok. In general food is more salty than you would expect. Beers were nice. Service was kind and fast. They do add a 2% service on the bill.

My family went here to try the Impossible Burger. They were out. I get it. BUT the big problem was that we ordered a glass of wine and a beer. The prices on the menu reflected a 6 oz and 16 oz pours respectively. We were given 9 oz pour of wine and 20 oz of beer instead and NO ONE ASKED. So we were charged $12 for a glass of Rose and $7.50 for a beer. I suspect this is a managerial decision...If the customer doesn't specify then give them the larger option. This is so wrong. A customer expects a standard size of alcohol and if you have a larger size you should offer either one. NOT give them the more expensive option. We felt deceived. We paid, we tipped %15 and we gave them a thumbs down on the receipt

I had the Gastropub burger. It was fairly good. If you don't like raw onions let then know to cook the grilled onions longer. The staff are pretty friendly so feel free to ask questions.

Service took a little long for being at a nearly empty bar at 2:30pm on a Friday. Ordered the summer special burger medium. It came out well done. No consistency to the ways the fries where cooked. Some are crispy others are soggy. Food tastes good though. Just not what was to be expected for a $16 burger. If you don't plan on cooking it the way the customer wants then don't offer a choice. Atmosphere is nice and they have a great selection.

Terrible experience today. It was our favorite restaurant not anymore. They play the football game outside so loud very annoying. We don't like football but can't believe that they discriminate people- we left from there unbelievable. I spoke with their manager and no results- she explained me that she can't because of people that like that game. What about people that they don't and wants to have a normal relaxing dinner.

Fantastic food. Awesome service. Great atmosphere. And $5 mimosas and bloody Maries!! Came here for brunch with a friend. Sat at the bar and ordered a breakfast burrito and he had the French toast. Wow! The burrito was massive, Full of flavor and they definitely weren’t stingy with the meat! I tried some of the French toast as well and oh man was that good. They use crushed corn flakes in the batter to create this crispy shell around the French toast. Top it off with some whisky maple syrup (must be 21+ to get it!) and this French toast went to a whole new level of deliciousness ! Definitely going back!

Inconsistent. Last week I had the most amazing hot grilled turkey sandwich, golden brown, hot, delicious. Today, I had a pale, cold, sad excuse for a grilled sandwich, the cheese was no where near melted. The server explained to me (as the kitchen told her to) that the sandwich is not normally served hot. They just grill it enough to put the marks on the bread. 14 dollar cold grilled sando.

In my experience, the Thirsty Lion always has great food and great service. I'd definitely recommend the Scotch Eggs. My family likes to order multiple appetizers instead of entrees so we can share and get a taste of everything. Also, we've been there for 2 birthdays and they've given a free dessert large enough for us to share each time. Overall, the atmosphere is inviting and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the music. The last time we were there it was pop/ hip hop/rap, which I don't mind but my family didn't seem to enjoy it much and it doesn't seem to fit the feel of the pub to me. It's not too loud though, so it's generally easy to tune out if you're conversing with someone.

Everybody raves about this place. so think it's average at best. Decent food. nice atmosphere, Greeters and then the service goes down after that. I don't know if its the layout of the tables or what, but I joined my friends for a drink and waited over 20 minutes. Both of their beers ran so by the time I was finally going to get a beer, I ended up buying a round or I would have been drinking alone. Maybe they planned it that way?

Disappointing at best from the food, to the service, to the actual availability of beverage items. Mac n cheese didn't have the cheese combined into the sauce, and was greesy. Fry batter on cauliflower and Korean chicken was so thick it was hard to taste anything else, and this caused it to not be crunchy at all. Our daughters food came out well after ours because the kitchen didn't make her food.

Came here for lunch with work colleagues and was extremely disappointed, would not come back. It took over 30 minutes for the waitress to even take our order, when we looked around to find her she was chatting it up with another waitress at the bar. We ended up having to go over and ask her to take our order. When we finally got food, it had been over an hour, food quality was mediocre, drinking water was served hot, and poor service. Would recommend trying something else in the area and definitely don't come during your work lunch break.

Read through all the positive reviews and decided to hit the Hillsboro location for brunch. It was meh. I got the standard breakfast - bacon, potatoes, eggs, toast. Bacon was thoroughly under cooked. Potatoes were frozen jojos deep fried with no seasoning. Service was so-so, especially considering the extra 2% "Service industry" charge. Would probably not return.
