Went here last week and waited a pretty long time for the buffalo wings appetizer, and even longer for the actual meals. We didn't order anything extravagant....just a simple chicken pasta entre, and a ribs and fries entre. We waited a long time. I believe I even saw people get served before us who arrived after us. Not sure why this is. Also the AC was up way too high. Servers were friendly and food was good.

Yum yum yum yum YUM! Standford's is by far the best place for food in this vacinity. They boast an amazingly cozy atmosphere that welcomes you, and there are lamps at each table. The service is quick and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend Stanford's for a higher-class meal. Enjoy! :) Edit: Because Stanford's replied to this review, I must give them props for outstanding customer service, both in and (now) out of the restaurant. I didn't even know the owner could reply to a review! Thank you Standford's!

Had the Chicken Linguini and the chicken was like trying to chew rubber. The Linguini and cream sauce was excellent. Had a great server and she was very understanding and took my meal off the bill.

Wothout going into grand details...Stanford's manager, Amber handled a minor situation without customer service tactics. The situation became singled out and created unpleasant experience. I will NEVER dine at Stanford Restaurants given the poor service provided.

I have enjoyed the HH menu several times.When I recently tried "Prime Rib sliders" I was so dissapointed..About 1/2 of the "meat" was FAT..Wonder if the chef would have ate it? I expressed my displeasure, & was told, "some poeple,like the FAT, it has flavour" $11.00 for 2 "sliders", I prefer meat.

We went here with the expectation of a fine dining establishment based off of the menu and prices, our assumption was incorrect. The environment was clean and comfortable, or wait staff was friendly, though very slow service, and the food is considerably over priced for what you get. We both ordered Ribeyes, they were thin and overcooked. I would not recommend the garlic mashed potatoes, they tasted as if they came out of a box. The whole meal was more reminiscent of what you would get at a Denny's or Shari's for a lot less. We won't go again.

Had a really good steak, and I don't normally eat steak because I've never liked it. Thing was just perfect. The waitress was cool and very helpful and prompt. Overall experience was great. Would go back if I ever return to this area.

I had the soup and half sandwich lunch combo. I got the black bean soup and chicken club. Both were absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were perfect and larger than I expected. The soup had great flavor with a little hint of spice. The chicken club was on a grilled sourdough bread with a wonderful aoili, bacon and lettuce. I highly recommend both and will definitely be getting this again.

Our last visit was an absolute fail. Of our party of five, only one meal was without issue, and it was the mac and cheese. The prime rib was overdone and dry. The two rib eyes were very thin cuts and mostly fat. The top sirloin that was ordered medium came out halfway between blue and rare. We heard our server apologizing to multiple other tables around us for similar issues. The only reason I rated two stars rather than one was because the manager was apologetic and took two of the steaks off our bill. Still very disappointed.

First time to North West area. Very disappointed with this restaurant. Definitely not worth the money at all. Food was bland. They didn't have what I ordered (sirloin steak.) Service was friendly but poor. Made infrequent visits to our table. Drink glasses stayed empty for several minutes. It took a while to get the check too. Appetizer (crab cakes) was tasty, but you only got two and we had a party of 3. Will not return.

Update: Stanfords and I had a conversation regarding my experience and I am happy with the outcome. This was my first and last trip to Stanfords. The Prime rib was really tough and grisly, the salad order was messed up and the lemon aid was watered down. Very disappointed!

Our kitchen is being remodeled and so we've spent a few evenings eating here. The food is great and for the past few visits, our server, Kayla, has been amazing. She always wears that beautiful smile and even while busy, she made sure that we were taken care of. She even remembered our visit from several months ago when I had to return to pick up the cookie I forgot. We will be asking to sit in her section going forward!

Stanford's Jantzen Beach has delicious food and great staff. It was a pleasant experience from the first phone call to reservations all the way to the end at check out. We had reservations for two tables (a table for 4 and a separate table for 2) for Saturday night dinner. Both areas were ready when we arrived, dinner was fantastic, the bills were appropriately sent to the correct table to avoid any embarrassment. Our server was friendly, funny and polite. The young couple experiencing their first homecoming date said it was the highlight of their evening.

At first I thought the food was a little expensive but when I tasted it I thought it was money well spent. The menu had some interesting dishes that made me come back a couple times during my stay in Portland, and I was never dissatisfied. I am used to Canadian hospitality; so when the bartenders were too busy to talk (at all) I was let down, but it’s probably just a little more upscale than I am accustomed to. Definitely a place I would take my girlfriend but not my buds. Good chance I will return next time I’m sent to the city.

Stanford's restaurant is the quintessential first date steakhouse. With a wide variety of food from macaroni and cheese with bacon, to filet mignon, to fish and chips and many more delectable offerings something can be found for everyone. Usually when a restaurant offers a wide variety of types of cuisine, it seems to detract from the quality of all. Not so the case at Stanford's. And that's not all. Ask to see the cocktail list and choose one of the many offerings using natural ingredients and the finest of alcohol. Check out the cosmos! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and our meal and a comfortable attractive restaurant with a friendly and attentive staff. I look forward to returning.

OMG if you drive past this place on I-5 at Jantzen Beach keep going they put burnt bacon on top of my salad and had burnt and sorry bacon on my sandwich not a place I would recommend eating at all it was as if the bacon was cook the day before and use the next day

Food and service was great, nothing to complain about. Our waitress was perfect. Only thing to mention is they probably have the worst Old Fashioned I have ever had. It tasted like an extremely watered down bourbon and soda. Pretty disappointed with that, the only thing keeping this from being a full five star review.

Cross contamination happening everywhere in the kitchen. Watched cook grap a old towel that had been sitting there before we walked in and wipe down the prep area then grabbed some sliced meat and then wiped his hands on the towel. The towel should have never been on the counter it should have been in a bucket of sanitizer. The cook then grabbed a handle of a utensil and continue cross contaminating everywhere. Stay away. No gloves and obviously no training .

This place was outstanding on all levels the service was impeccable at the bar. The bartender's name was Ray Anderson I had oysters with green beans and the rice was perfect. We also ordered soup and fish and chips which could not have been better!

Our waiter was new but spot on with the service. He would check on us but not too much. The food is excellent! Compliments to the chefs. My pepper bacon macaroni and cheese with grilled chicken had a creaminess that took me back to my Grandmother's homemade.

This place has unfortunately gone down hill and I don’t think we will be back. Our server was honestly amazing, he was very nice and quick. However, having a great server doesn’t make up for terrible food. Everything was SO greasy. We got the fish and chips, yes I know they are deep fried. But the fries like soaked up every ounce of grease, the fish was the same. The batter wasn’t fully cooked so it was mushy on the inside. The halibut was SO dry and had no flavor at all. Later that night my husband and I both got sick. Our meal was definitely not worth the $50 price tag we paid!

For the price I paid, I wasn't impressed. I came here with a group of colleagues for lunch during a conference. Nothing tasted bad. No one had any complaints about their food. It just wasn't overwhelming. I ordered the steak cobb salad. My romaine was a day or two past fresh, as was the avocado. However, the rest of the components were, especially the steak, was very tasty. I would consider coming back, because I was definitely interested in some of the dishes my colleagues ordered, but it might take another occasion like today's to bring me through the door.

We had an amazing experience here. We had to made a late notice reservation for eight people, and they were more than happy to get us a table with little hassle or anything even remotely negative. The host staff was amazingly friendly and our waiter was amazing. He offered suggestions and had great descriptions of everything we had any questions on. The food was reasonably priced and tasted wonderful. Would go back here again for sure.

My husband and I dined at Stanford's tonight for our wedding anniversary, and we were quite pleased with the quality and presentation of our meal, and very much appreciated and enjoyed our waitress' attentiveness and service during our time there. We both ordered the 12 oz Rib-Eye which was cooked exactly to our specifications and tasted great; the sides were delicious, and it was wonderful that we could each get a pint of draught beer for only $6 apiece. The atmosphere of Stanford's is dimly lit, cozy and intimate, much like fine dining used to be at so many restaurants, and we loved finding a new place in which we might have time away together enjoying a meal sans our children, that was still family friendly without being raucous and crowded. Thanks for a wonderful evening, it was a nice way to spend our 11th wedding anniversary, and we will be back for more deliciousness in future!

Food as great. Seating is a little confusing. Seems to be no rhyme or reason, we just so happened to be the magnate for screaming toddlers. With countless open booths, the host surrounded us with families with loud kids. This place is nice, but a designated family room would be great. The restaurant layout definitely lends itself to that. I wish we would've known, we would've sat at the kid-free bar.

Met a friend here for lunch had the smoked salmon with risotto and mushroom squash it was absolutely amazing. The squash is cooked to Perfection not over cooked. Great flavor wonderful accent cinnamon just so slightly. Service was wonderful the place was clean and great location convenient to the freeway on and off and shopping. Not cheap but definitely you get what you pay for here! Definitely will be back again.

I had the herb crusted prime rib, the seasonal vegetables were brussel sprouts (with bacon) and whipped mash potatoes. I requested fresh garlic & the meal was absolutely delicious! Great dinner & we went early so we didn't have to yell to have a conversation.....we avoided the traffic & were back at our hotel to relax. We shall return!

Food was great, I'm very picky about the quality of ribs, and these were great. Lean falling off bone, great sauce. Giant onion ring was crispy outside, and well cooked inside. Nice experience. Mac and cheese was excellent. 5 stars for the type of restaurant it is, with reasonable prices.

The service here is second to non. I had 2 meals here. The first was a wonderful Ribeye steak. Baked Potato and vegetables. Every thing was perfect. The second meal was Halibut fish and chips .It was just ok. To much batter on the fish and way to salty. Could not taste the fish. The manager noticed I had not finished my meal asked if there was a problem. I explained and he removed the charge. Great Great place. Very good wait staff I will go back for sure!!!!!!

Its not bad. But it is glorified galley food. Good place to take the inlaws. Sorry stanfords wasnt quite done. I will eat here again because the offer a good atomosphere for family dining. The service has always been excellent, defintately can satiate a sweet tooth. Two times ive been there the dinners were a bit disapointing. They were seafood dishes i dont remember specifically, good presentation, they just werent what i was expecting. I will eat there again, as my exteded family frequents quite often.

I just had my second experience at Stanford‘s restaurant and bar. In both experiences, the food has been great. Nothing to complain about, and it’s a very robust menu for lunch or dinner with the family. That being said I must share the experience that I had with my server/bartender Melody B. When coming this afternoon, I seated myself at the bar where Melody was working. Her attention to detail was absolutely amazing! She is one of the friendliest servers I have ever experienced. She was kind of had a smile the entire time. Since I was sitting at the bar, I was able to see her interacting with the rest of the staff as well. Not only did she share her kind of demeanor with them, but was encouraging and helpful to everyone that injured her area. I hope that Melody receives recognition for the services she’s providing to both Guest and her fellow team members. I will absolutely be back because of the great experience she created.

Service was pretty good but food was very disappointing. I ordered shrimp scampi and it was clearly regular frozen shrimp out of a bag. Everything was made with mass amounts of butter to make it palatable. Would not recommend wasting your money.
