This Restaurant is classified in the category of Korean restaurant.
Revelry is an interesting bar/Korean fusion restaurant. There is some great Korean style fried chicken here. I would say come here with coworkers or friends who don't mind splurging to have excellent flavors and interesting soju.
It was okay. It's definitely a restaurant on the hipper side, as evidenced by the shared screen wall with a clothing store, tiny water cups, and DJ. I wish the food had as much personality as the space, especially considering the menu is fairly short and the items are not cheap. The kimchi didn't taste like anything I couldn't buy at a store. The chicken was moist and well-fried, but I could have done without the peanut brittle. The drinks were great, though! I probably won't come back, but I would suggest coming here for happy hour to get bang for your buck.
We got there and the music was so loud conversations were impossible. The music was also intolerable and we had to leave
innovative tasty food here. service was excellent as well, highly recommended!
Tofu was good.
Fun restaurant with great Asian fusion. DJs sometimes
Go during happy hour on the weekends, or their Tuesday deal, and experience some of the best food our big little city has to offer. Plus, order the Gods Plan with the Fortune Cookie soju.
Amazing flavors! Fried chicken, dumplings, greens, Dan Dan noodles, short rib bowl, rice pudding = all delish!
The pan seared rice cakes had an amazing depth of flavor. Best description would be that it was like a Korean gnocchi in terms of consistency. The black bean and Kalamata olive sauce was smooth and delicious and the leeks added the crunch and crispness in taste. The bartender was also very nice, and although I went late they did not seem bothered.
Great food fusion for a fun date night. Excellent music and relaxed atmosphere. In the later part of the evening will be a live DJ playing some old school tracks for some trendy lively dining. Delicious drinks all around (I am a big fan of the Fortune Cookie Soju). And a diversity of plates to share with others.
Food is great, portions were small for the price.
Good food and music . Long wait for our reservation.
Very flavorful healthy food.
Small place with lots of great shareable plates and fun atmosphere. Not much space for bigger parties so make a reservation or be prepare to wait while sipping on an excellent cocktail. DJ on weekends and generally great music at all other times. Get the fried chicken and the rice cakes!
Best kimchi I've ever tasted. The other dishes were delicious but seemed very Americanized. I was hoping for some kal-bi, meat jun, seaweed salad, or spicy squid. The music was really good too but it was so loud my friends and I had to yell at each other and it was still hard to hear what they said. The staff were all really nice and attentive too.
Upscale Korean bar, with seafood pancakes, KFC, and other snacks. I’ve mostly enjoyed my meals here, but many of the dishes tend towards the sweet side.
Absolutely delicious. Mrs Chang's crispy chicken peanut brittle and crispy fish chips appetizer
Spectacular Fried Chicken with nut brittle
Fried chicken is as good as advertised. Leave the friends and kids at home, just big enough for two.
Great food, good service.
The chicken is that good. Surprises were the chips and the sautéed greens with pickled garlic - both excellent.
Great food, those noodles hit the spot Everytime! The service is always wonderful. My favorite place to go in Portland!
Some interesting dishes and tastes, but they're a bit too in your face with flavor. If they served most things on a bed of brown rice the sum would be greater than the parts. The drinks are very sweet, but they're willing to mix them for you. Add some water to the old fashioned and it starts to taste like the lid didn't accidentally fall off the spice shaker into the drink.
Best chicken in town
Fantastic food and drinks. I really appreciate the menu indicating allergies. Fun atmosphere.
Awesome Korean fried chicken. Good service. Awesome 90s hip hop music with live DJ
One of the coolest places to go to. I love the music and the place is so nice. Tucked in and connected to a couple other cool shops. Their fried chicken with peanut brittle is off the chain and their seared ahi tuna poke bowl was amazing for the price. $$ and absolutely crazy. Go there for happy hours!
greatest place in portland
1st time here, we came for the Spicy Chicken with peanut brittle (so good!) & stayed for Fortune Cookie Soju & Somaeks. Great happy hour, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. I recommend sitting at low bar near kitchen to watch plating. We will be back to taste more of the menu!
Great food, fun atmosphere and really accommodating for different dietary restrictions.
A touch over priced, but damn delicious
OMG the Fish and Chips are out of this world great! Service is tippity top too!
Everything we ordered was good, especially the fried chicken and the seaweed bowl. We went on a crowded night, but food came out fast. Cocktails and plenty of food for $25 a person.
Always great food, the chicken and the cauliflower are especially good!
Blackened rockfish ceviche - summer rotating item. Nice spiciness to it, but not overly powerful for those less than enthusiastic for the heat. The shrimp and mushroom dumplings (3 per serving) were my favorite. I would enjoy an entire meal of these, but im a sucker for dumplings. We always get the sticky rice cakes and they never disappoint. Perfect amount of crispiness and chewy. The weakest item was the blackened tuna with rice. The 4 pieces of tuna were great but the rice and veggies didnt have much flavor. The dish picked up too much of the vinegar from the pickled cucumber/squash. Might want to add one of the 4 sauces available tableside to that dish. Drinks. Since my first visit here i have always enjoyed their old fashioned (served with the correct ice cube btw). Also tried the thai basil and orange soju which is almost too easy to drink. Think hint of basil with orange Tang or tictacs.
Great food and awesome service!
Good food, limited beer
The food was outstanding! We shared our plates and every dish we ordered was taste and unique. Definitely recommend the fried chicken & seaweed noodles!!
Eat here. Explore the menu for yourself but the fish chips and tuna rice bowl are flavor nirvana. Service is excellent, music is kickin, and the chefs who run this place really have something special going. If you are really adventurous, dive into the fortune cookie soju.
Seaweed Dungeness crab noodles we're amazingly flavorful!!! The DJ was great, playing throw back R&B/hiphip. I can't wait to go back!
So delicious. A nice scene with vintage boom boxes on the wall. A slightly modern feel inside a semi-old historic building with exposed wood joists yet sleek new finishes near the bar and seating areas. Takes reservations but a bar seat is quick on a weeknight. The Seaweed Dungeness crab dish is delicious. Don't hesitate on the spicy chicken starter. It's fantastic! The kimchi starter is also really good plus the housemade chips are so good. Come in during Portland Dining month for a nice 3 course meal and a $9 special cocktail! Nice staff and all the food was amazing. Highly recommend.
By far the best food I have ever eaten. The staff here is incredibly sweet and professional and the atmosphere is young and fun. I love this restaurant so much! I recommend this place to anyone who asks. The food is out of this world-good! Even while writing this review I am starting to get hungry thinking about their food. I highly recommend taking the time to come here multiple times to try everything on the menu. I have never had a bad experience with the food. God Bless Revelry.
The food was decent. The service was terrible. Our waitress was rude and had a bad attitude from the start. She also didn’t know how to split our tabs and added an extra item that we did not order. It’s very obvious that the staff was not happy to work there. In fact, we saw a staff member at the previous bar we were at order 2 shots and a beer before they went to work their shift at this restaurant. Now I realize why that is.
this is the kind of place that gives new portland a bad name. oblivious waitress. two kinds of competing lousy raucous music. super greasy, not very tasty. go to toji, sokongdong or nakwon for 4 times the food, tastier with better service.
Tallboy Tuesday, where you can get a tallboy of Rainer and the best friend chicken for $5.
This place isn't super cheap but the food is very well prepared and delicious. I didn't try any drinks as I was on my way to work but the meal I had I believe was at the top of the menu was a flavorful treat. Highly recommend for the atmosphere as well it's very modern and they have uncensored rap so like don't bring racist ol granny.
Edamame hummus was surprisingly the star of the show. Seaweed noodle with crab was also exceptional. Cocktails were amazing.
The rice is insanely good. Great cocktails too!
Big Boi, fermented food, delicious beer and cocktails.
The decor was very fun and the chicken I got was good.
Amazing. The five dollar chickenand Rainer was a great deal and our server Mel was great!
The wait was incredible, and I wait for tables regularly. The rest of the experience was also incredible, so ... still 5 stars. But be warned! Show before you're hungry and go to Produce Row for drinks ONLY.
The food and service was great! It was shockingly more expensive than I was expecting.
Sit at the end of the bar by where they do the prep work closest to the kitchen for a great show. Delicious Korean inspired food in a fun atmosphere and creative cocktails.
The only thing louder than the live-DJ'd music is the explosion of flavors in the shared plates. It's an intense experience — don't come here to catch up with your hard-of-hearing, culinarily unadventurous grandparents — but the staff is friendly all the same, and the prices are standard for "Portland fancy."
Super dope spot with good food and good music, good vibes!
Once this section of town comes around, this will be the place to go. The fried chicken and seaweed noodle with crab are excellent, and their music taste is phenomenal.
Modern atmosphere. Nice staff. Excellent drink and food choices. Tasty
Good food! Vinegary taste, but that's to be expected in Korean fusion. I wish that it would be more of the southern side of the fusion. Great atmosphere tho!
Ordered tuna fish bowl. The tuna fish is very similar to half cooked tuna steak you get in Japanese restaurants. Rice had good flavor. Do not expect big portion though. Service was not as good: Waited for long although we had reservation and could not get separate check. Service quality gets lower time to time for large enough parties when the tip is automatically included. Overall, I would say service was poor but the food was good.
For”bar food”, the flavors were very Asian forward with the greens and fried chicken of special note (must try). The corn tea infused Old Fashion is a wonderful smooth take in the original. Would rerun esp for happy hour - at least I was VERY happy with the inventiveness and spice (high) level.
I love Revel (the sister restaurant in Seattle), so I knew I had to come to revelry when I was in Portland. The crab noodles were almost as perfect and the fried chicken was so amazing we had a hard time not ordering seconds.
Service was good. Good was okay, didn't seem that fresh. Tried the kimchi wedges and tuna bowl. Neither was remarkable.
fried chicken was awesome very small portion of 14 $ , I had to get extra food after
The fried chicken! When you order breaded fried chicken, this is what you're looking for: moist chicken, crunchy breading, zesty sauce and their sweet twist of peanut brittle crunch. This signature dish is part of the appetizer trio for Portland Dining Month (March 2019). So many delicious appetizers to choose from, this place is perfect for happy hour and a great starter for a night out.
Best fried rice of ALL TIME - scallop fried rice ‼️Diane should stop being so modest and move this from "starters" to "features"
Good food, quick service, complex flavors. Revelry feels like fusion going for fission, and may cause fissures. On the ground floor of an office that may go up in flames due to the greasy quisine frying below, Revelry offers large portion sizes, complex flavors, and an assortment of hipster accommodations from soju that tastes like urinal cakes to soju that tastes like cough syrup to jalapenos. Interesting take on fusion by the founders of Revel in Seattle.
good, quick dinner. more expensive than most restaurants this side of the river, but the food was good, and the cocktails were exceptional.
The food here was great, the service was good. I would have given five stars if they had a bigger craft beer selection.
The spicy chicken with peanut brittle was amazing!
Super loud but the food is worth it!
It was over hyped. The food was average at best. I ordered Mrs. Yang's Chicken and it was not great. The peanut brittle seemed almost like a forceful addition to the chicken. Did not marry well together. The blackened tuna bowl was just okay. Lacking in depth and flavour. It was very bland. The seaweed noodles was good. Worthy of a repeat order. The curry sauce was flavourful, and the cilantro offered welcomed brightness. Overall the food is edible, but not good. Soju was great. I ordered the flight and it came with 3 flavours. Other than the fortune cookie which tasted like a cupcake Yankee candle, the apple fig and orange Thai basil were enjoyable.
Nice atmosphere but the food is not really Korean
Great food and very friendly staff.
So good! Spicy fried chicken, dumplings, crab noodles - so yum!! Cool little space, live dj, all that!
Really like this spot. Environment is fun, great music. Menu is focused and well done. The fried chicken is slamming. Strong drink menu as well. Location is a little away from most things but well worth checking it out.
Overpriced, busy and desperate to be trendy. Excellent kimchi.
Went here for Valentines Day and hadn’t eaten that well in a while. Wow. Surpassed my expectations. Also, play really good music. Great atmosphere.
The Korean fried chicken is unbeatable. Two, three, four portions will never be enough!
Solid portions of crazy flavorful Korean street food. The sauce and the pork in the noodle dishes is unmatched. The atmosphere is chill, fun, and modern. Great DJ set while we were there. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for and then some in a dish that will want you coming back for more
Went for the ranier and chicken special added garlicy greens and rice. It was fantastic! The staff were friendly and vibe was cool. Menu is asian inspired.
I guess I expected a little more from a $18 seafood noodle dish. As in a little more crab and bokchoy. Should be called noodles with sauce. The creme fraiche was a nice touch.
Mmmmmmm... So good!
This store front Evo and Korean fusion restaurant duo is one not to be ignored, I drove by this hit too many times before finally stopping to walk in. The Fried was absolutely delicious! Definitely a go to item. I loved the late night music playlist I could resist bopping my head while happily enjoying my cocktail. They ambience is on point. Love love and love. * make sure to make a reservation if you have a group three or more, wait time is long with out one.
Loved this place! I can wait to make it back.
THE BEST KOREAN CHICKEN ON EARTH!!! Chillin atmosphere and good vibes.
This spot is hip, fun, and delicious. I was so impressed with the space and how awesome our food was. We had the korean fried chicken with peanut brittle which was so crispy, tender, and moist. We also had soft shell crab and a greens salad in miso dressing. We had two of the specialty cocktails which were creative and yummy. To top it off, they have a dj on friday and sat nights spinning great music to add to the dining experience. My new favorite spot.
Not worth the $11 price for their promoted wings, tasted like store bought sauce on top of mediocre cooked wings. Good for a late night snack but on par with Mac D's for food quality with a premium price tag.
So good; modi tofu with braised kale- tender & spicy, pork belly pancake crisp & delicious!!!
Great vibes and truly unique food. The staff here is attentive, very kind, and welcoming. Since I was just visiting the city and short on time, I came here right after eating a giant meal and only had room for the summer+winter melon pickles and the little fish chips. The little fish component is actually a traditional Korean ban chan called Myeol-chi bokkeum. I was pleasantly surprised to see this here!! And on top of chips! Haha. I wish I could have tasted the shishito and the seaweed noodles, maybe I'll try to find some time before I leave to squeeze in another quick visit here. But thanks again guys, and belated suostei to the friendly Khmer lady in the kitchen!
Great happy hour food and drinks
Amazing flavors!!
Besides the fact that the place reminded me of a set piece for 'YO! MTV RAPS' in Korea, the Food is amazing to say the least with tasty dishes that will make you straight up smack those taste buds into a coma of awesome. If that even makes sense. Be prepared to share with friends or else you'll have a ton of the same food. Will be back soon. With pictures next time!
Get the fried chicken!!! That and the drinks were fantastic.
Everything I put in my mouth was delicious; ahi rice bowl, fried chicken, gin cocktail and beer. Staff was welcoming and answered all of my questions without pretense. Will return.
Go on a Tuesday. $5 chicken and tall boy is stealing
Wow! That food was amazing. Got the appetizer sampler and the bulgogi beef -- rocked my world. Now I want to go back to get the dumplings and rice cakes
Not a huge fan of the Korean style food in general but I like this place cool interior and the chicken was good
Nice environment and great food. Very tasty. The "pancake" is a must.
This placed surprised me.. few new trendy haunts hold my interest like this place has.
I liked the signature dish (fried chicken with peanut brittle) and the chocolate sponge cake for dessert was nice too.
Amazing food (Mrs. Yang's Chicken and the crab noodles) and delicious drinks. A go to spot on a night out, and even ok with kids :)
For the prices they charge the portions are way too small. We ordered a round of shots for our table and they served us half shots which were also ridiculously priced. My cocktail was $12 but maybe only 3 oz and tasted like cherry cough syrup. The food was good but I probably won't return.
2/16/19: really cool atmosphere. DJ was playing some great 90's tunes. Order a carafe of the orange Thai basil soju w/Hite beer, seaweed noodles, fried chicken, and kimchee pancake. The soju was really refreshing! Loved the crispiness of the fried chicken. The sticky sauce has a nice sweet spicy flavor. Chicken would also have been great without it. Seaweed noodles were ok. It was a bit sweeter than expected but really liked the bite of the noodles. Kimchee pancake was ok. Really liked the texture but lacking a bit in flavor even with the pork belly. Service was prompt and friendly.
The blackened Tuna was really good. The seaweed noodles were good but the sauce a little too sweet for my taste buds.
Creative Korean-inspired small dishes and street food served over a hip-hop soundtrack. The "wall o' boomboxes" is a nice touch, reminiscent of Cildo Meireles's 'Babel'.
The food was AMAZING. A must-try destination.
This new Korean restaurant offers really great dishes. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the falafel, pickled melon, tuna rice bowl, shishito peppers and kimchi pancake. Love the environment and fun vibes.
My friend and I found this place by accident while walking to a cafe. We stopped in because their DJ was playing really good music. We had some happy hour snacks at the bar. Their drinks are great, and their food is pretty delicious. Above all, DJ Bazooka played some awesome music - 90s and 00s hip hop and R&B. It was such a fun time!
I finally tried Revelry as part of the Dirt & Dinner outing with EVO next door - and wow, just incredible food....flavors and dishes I haven't had in Portland, great service, really fun interior....just an exceptional experience overall. Looking forward to going back to try some more items on their menu (and cocktail list) soon!
Unique take on Asian cooking. Each dish was original and tasty. We went with a larger group and we were able to sample a lot of the menu. Absolutely worth it.
Just a great spot all around. We had the fried chicken, sauteed greens and scallop fried rice. All we're delicious. And the service was friendly and helpful! A new favorite has been found!
Absolutely creative dishes! Loved the menu! The service was attentive yet lacked personality. Overall, very good and very tasty.
Cool spot. Really neat walls. Food was good bust seamed a little over priced. Not mad would totally go back but a cut in food processor would get a higher score.
Only been here once but the food is great. The ambience is hip and fresh!
Great food, drink, atmosphere, and genuine staff. I highly recommend Revelry.
Food was bomb! Great cocktails too!
The food are really really nice, and the waitress are super kind and nice, we ordered a lots of food, and ending up with To-go, I will come back for sure!!!!!
Unfortunately thoroughly disliked the food: everything was too sweet. We tried basically every recommendation Revelry had to offer and from the Fried Chicken to the pancakes, everything was very sweet and not very good in my humble opinion. The place is cool; nice design and very nice hip hop music (don't take your grandma') but the wine list is inexistant and the cocktails ... all sweet as well. Good service and good décor, the food was maybe not my taste at all unfortunately.
Great cocktails (get the Pilot John) and the food was all terrific. Very friendly staff as well.
Amazing food - Crab ramen was awesome. Peanut brittle fried chicken is a must. Great bartenders and nice social vibe.
Fantastic menu options, especially "fusion" recipes that don't seem rehashed or contrived. I had the fried chicken which was breaded and the lightly coated with some sort of hoisin sauce, then dusted with crumbled peanut brittle. They do a good job of seating as many people as they do without rubbing elbows with your neighbor.
High quality food and friendly staff. The drink selection is scant, especially the wine. Also, the restrooms are located up and elevator and down an office building corridor.
kimchee tastes like raw cabbage dunked in spices for a minute. no draft beer. very nice ambiance. expect $$$$
Hipster is absolutely how I would describe it. Food was fantastic.
The hype is true. The Korean fried chicken with peanut brittle is really something... in addition to the nice cozy feel the place has. However for $14, it's a bit much for 8-9 chicken pieces. The pork belly pancakes were uninspiring and salty. Def would come back just for the chicken.
Yummy. So many good restaurants in Portland these days so holding the 5 star for the best of the best.
SHAME on this restaurant. We had dinner here recently, one of our party has a severe, life threatening allergy to tree nuts. We informed our server, stressed it's importance and were told that without a doubt everything that we had ordered was tree-nut free. All of our food and our bottle of wine had arrived at the table when our friend with the allergy started feeling off. We had only eaten the fried chicken appetizer at this point, and not yet started eating the rest of our food so we were able to clearly identify the problem dish, we once again asked the server to verify there was NO TREE NUTS thinking possibly it was a spice in the dish giving her a similar feeling and were once again assured that there was no nuts other than peanuts in the dish. Then it happened. She started to have a reaction, turning red, throat closing. An extremely terrifying experience that she had not experienced for over TWO years - we told our server that we needed to get her to the ER asap. His response - would you like me to box up your food? He then brought us over our check for our uneaten food and barely touched wine - asking for us to close out our tab before we headed off to the ER. Disgusting, repulsive and outrageous response. I was in complete shock that anyone could be so oblivious and lack this amount of empathy OR take ANY responsibility for causing this situation. I waited 3 weeks to post this review and to give them a chance to right this horrific error they committed - Revelry has not responded to 4 phone calls at this point, they have not refunded our uneaten dinner and they have also not once followed up on the offer they made later that evening (we had to go back in our rush to get our friend to the ER we left our computers at the table) to cover her medical bills. Luckily, our friend is OK although for the next 72 hours she had to every 5 hours day or night take a dose of medicine, she was unable to return to work for the rest of the week and this on top of the super fun ER room bill. Not that anyone at Revelry cares. Please, do NOT eat here if you have any type of allergy at all. Or, if you prefer to give your hard earned money to decent humans who feel feelings and take responsibility for almost killing people.
Came in for happy hour, had a couple cocktails and a couple snacks, everything was great. Mrs. Yangs spicy fried chicken is a must try!
The food was amazing, the server knew what she was talking about, the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing. 5/5 we will be back for more
Great vibe, food, and service!
Amazing meal! Absolutely worth spending extra on a night out.
Great food, great service. Weird encounter with the hostess, but after that all was great.
Great place for cocktails and Korean food. Love the presentation of both. Service is top notch as well.
We had spicy fried chicken. It wasn't the same as the ones we had in Korea but it tasted excellent! Little spicy and sweet. It is boneless chicken btw
Chicken get the fricken chicken and you'll never look back
This is a hip, small plates spot with an Asian flair. Try the peanut brittle chicken, and kimchi pancake with pork belly.
Was skeptical when I walked in, but was recommended so went through with it, and was magically surprised. A little on the swanky side for Portland, but well worth it. The fried chicken is worth the price of admission. The noodles are delightful and the atmosphere feels more comfortable after you realize rainers are still 3 dollars. Would go back again, and would recommend this as a great date spot. Super clean, great food, and warm, attentive and friendly staff. The Seaweed noodles were divine!
Everything was tasty and service was impeccable.
Fanatic food. Simple ingredients and extremely tasty.
Went during restaurant month. Each bite of food was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Kind of loud though.
The tuna rice bowl looked nice, the tuna itself was tasty, but the rice was undercooked.
Nice Korean-Asian dining place. I was so excited before I’ve been here. This place was so nice and delicious. Foods are good and service also great. Beef bolws is really good and I recommed. I will be back! 맛있는 코리안-아시안 음식점. 포틀랜드에 잘 어울리는 곳. 셰프 레이첼 양이 이끄는 곳. short rib rice 추천.
Wow! Just really describes my experience at Revelry! Fantastic tasting food, great service and presentation.
Super good! Came here for dining month. Fried chicken was delicious, tasty cocktails, cool atmosphere with a dj. Also some very fun desserts!
Stopped by to see what they offered and was amazed. The crispy chicken it's a must try. The drinks were well made with good liquor. The staff was friendly and prompt.
The menu is a little daunting but I came here with a group of 5 (1 vegetarian, 2 pescatarians, 2 meat eaters) and everyone was so pleasantly surprised and left full and happy. Some very interesting food choices. Our waitress was so helpful! Plus they had a fortune cookie infused drink that everyone was stoked on. Would absolutely come back.
Tasty morsels and beverages with Korean street food flair in an urban decay setting makes for an adventurous dinner, date night, or happy hour.
