This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
Great family owned restaurant. Nice vibe and good food. Prices are great too.
My mother and I are really big fans of Indian food, we make an active effort to scout out Indian restaurants in every city we visited. We were really thrilled with the service and food from Nirvana! You can tell it's a family run restaurant and we couldn't love that more - you can tell their customer's satisfaction is really really important to the workers. As far as the food goes, we ordered a ton and wasn't disappointed with a single dish. We even placed an order to take back to the hotel to eat as a midnight snack. I wish I could recall the names of the dishes we ordered but there are pictures on the menus to guide every patron along to a tasty dish. I can't wait to show my friends this gem!
This place is moderate.... items don’t taste that good... I tried the lunch buffet and there was very less to choose from. I didn’t like it. It was a waste of money. There are other Indian restaurants in the town offering better buffet options. I am not to visit this place again.
This is not good indian good, at least not the buffet during lunch. The rice is not basmati, the tandori chicken looked semi pink from too few spices and tasted like a plain chicken leg. The chicken makhani looked ok but tasted way off, severely lacking in cream and spices. The mint sauce was awful. The place is nice and kept clean and the employees are quick to tend tables. I think some of the efforts are misplaced.
We love the buffet and even when it isn't crowded the food is excellent!
Great family owned restaurant. Nice vibe and good food. Prices are great too.
It is a great buffet. Really helpful staff if you are new Indian food.
The buffet is great, don't get me wrong, but the dinner plates are what truly shine. I will definitely be going to Nirvana a lot more often now. The service was fantastic, they are so polite and my water glass was never empty. I was so surprised by the price. We ordered a chicken curry, a vegetable dish, and 2 orders of garlic Naan bread and it was under $25! I'm new to the Corvallis area so it was great to find this little gem.

The food reminds me of a meal I would have at home. The owner is very nice and pleasant.
Neither the most flavorful, nor the spiciest Indian food, but still enjoyable. I recommend their buffets for a nice variety.
Great food and service moderate prices and so much food! Many vegetarian options
Good food, great service.
I Love this restaurant. I have been eating at Nirvana for years, both lunch buffet and off the dinner menu. The two are different and I find that I have to add the right amount of hot sauce to amplify the flavors that are present in the buffet offerings. This is not the case with the ala carte options off the menu, but understandable because of the varied palates of the customers. I find the flavors succulent, savory and diverse and always want to eat more, but am sorely limited by my own capacity. The Chicken Tikka, yellow Daal and Sag Palak are definite favorites for myself and my family. Initially, as a novice to Indian cuisine, it took a while to gain an appreciation. However, now I can't wait to eat there. My daughters have found the same intrigue and choose Nirvana for birthday dinners; perhaps unusual for younger patrons. The family atmosphere is pleasant and we have found the service always to be courteous and gracious. The brief hiatus has given us a chance to try other Indian restaurants in Portland as well as locally. Nirvana is still our favorite and we anxiously await the opening of the new restaurant.
So So So So good. I've only ever come for the buffet, so I can't speak to anything else, but it is so good. The lunch buffet is every day and they have a dinner buffet on the weekends too. Plenty of variety and always lots of vegetarian dishes. The buffet comes with a drink too!
Have been for both the lunch buffet and dinner multiple times and it is all exceptional. Wonderful food and staff with a nice relaxed environment.
By far my favorite Indian place in the valley!
tandoorie chiken is dry u need water to gulp down rice is like homemade
The best thing about Nirvana is the food....No wait it is the friendly, prompt and attentive service....yea, but even better is the ambiance - the rockin' Indian music! I especially like the ice cold glasses they provide with a 22 oz. Taj Mahal. I've been to many restaurants over the years in Corvallis, but Nirvana has been my favorite. The friendly, high quality service is tops!
It has been a while since I had ate at Nirvana since we moved out of Corvallis, but I remembered it being good. I went hiking with friends yesterday and recommended eating at Nirvanas afterwards. I was not disappointed! All the food was great and the service was great. I didn't have to ask for a refill on water like a lot of places. Very attentive and the food came promptly.
We went first for the buffet. We were disappointed. While the food was good, there was very little spice or flavor. We thought to try it again for dinner though and I'm glad we did. We ordered our plates medium and there was the Indian food we had been missing. So good. Now we are slightly concerned that we live so close to a good Indian restaurant. My only recommendation to the owners is to make and maybe label some of the dishes on the buffet as spicy. Many of us go first to the buffet and it was unimpressive. I had to convince my family to give it another try. 4 stars only because of the buffet. If I were just rating our dinner it would be 5.
Good food, prompt service and reasonable prices. Over all my best Indian dining experience so far.
I came in for the dinner, and it was amazing. My chicken curry was so good, and we also got Okra, and it was stellar too. The garlic naan bread was wonderful as well. I really love Nirvana.
It was great! Delicious food, prompt service and friendly proprietors!
Excellent, friendly, personable customer service and great food. What more could you ask for? Good prices, too. As to the reviews that certain people affiliated with another restaurant are leaving, well, take those with a grain of salt. This place is great.
Love this place! Food is amazing and they are super friendly! Couldn't ask for better indian food
Always amazing! I've been there several times now with family and friends. I have celiac so require gluten-free food and I often go with vegetarian and vegan friends. They do a great job of accommodating all of us. Their buffet always has great items in it. They're chicken tandoori is delicious as is their lassi... and everything else we've tried! They're service is also very good. Not only smiling and friendly, but helpful when needing information about food items. Some restaurants make you feel bad when trying to get the food details for your diet, but they never do. If you love Indian food, or are looking to try it for the first time, check out Nirvana!
This place is moderate.... items don’t taste that good... I tried the lunch buffet and there was very less to choose from. I didn’t like it. It was a waste of money. There are other Indian restaurants in the town offering better buffet options. I am not to visit this place again.
Quality vs price is good.
Very enjoyable food and friendly staff.
Don't listen to "Pseudolocus X" he's obviously an idiot. Worst than frozen food? Don't be so disrespectful to others makes you look bad. The food here is flavorful, fresh, and delicious. Inexpensive good indian food with very friendly service and hospitality. I'm not Indian and I've never been to India so maybe there's better out there but I have friends who have been there and they its as good. Give it a try at least.
Not a good food. It's not authentic Indian food and I wouldn't recommend it.
Small family run place. Wonderful people. Good food! Great prices. Awesome. I want to try every vegan option they have.
Friendly staff and good service. The new location is better than the last. The food is tasty. The naan is fresh. The buffet is easy, but seems a little over priced.
Upon viewing the bright colors of the buffet and ample vegetarian options, I was hopeful. Service is friendly and efficient. The flavors of the food, however, seem watered down. One can vaguely taste what the dish could be, the flavor that could be exploding in your mouth but is instead simply farting there. The tandoori chicken is notably flavorless as well and the kheer, what I always look forward to, was also without spice and tasted of cottage cheese. I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone but an inexperienced American palate might find something satisfying here.
I love this place. The food is amazing, but the people are the best part. The customer service is amazing, they always remember who I am right away, what I ordered last time, what we talked about, etc. They're a perfect example of what you want to feel going into a local restaurant.
Food is so bad nothing taste good just waisted my money
Amazing food and service. Chef offered deliciouys suggestions for us who were unfamiliar with indian food. Will visit again.
The owner is kind. But the food is really bad. If you truly know authentic Indian food you couldn't possibly be impressed with this. What's with all the high reviews? The saag and curry is mostly tasteless. I detected none of the traditional Indian spices and there wasn't any heat to any of the dishes. To top it all off, I found a LIVE fly, as in flapping its wings, in my food. The Chai tasted like toilet water, which was disturbing. I wish people would care about using authentic Recipes and actually try to earn a good reputation. Its beyond me how people can opt for such low standards with their restaurants. Come on guys, you can do better than this!
I am a big fan of Indian food. This place is definitely the best in Corvallis and probably the best I've had anywhere. It's one of our favorite restaurants. It's run by a husband and wife team who come in to cook after dropping the kids off at school. The buffet is wonderful with a lot of vegetarian options but you can also order from the menu.
Small family run place. Wonderful people. Good food! Great prices. Awesome. I want to try every vegan option they have.
Chicken korma was to die for. This is an awesome place with great food with reasonable prices
Mediocre buffet food quality and limited choices, mostly vegetarian stews with two chicken dishes!
Great gluten Free options.
Delicious foods and clean interior!
Amazing vegetarian options you'll love. Great family environment.
Hated it! Oh yes you got that right! Worst Indian food ever. I am not sure where to start.Every dish that was served was very bad half cooked and tasted so bad! Shrimp vindaloo was the special of the day as advertised by them. But let me tell you it was the worst dish I have ever had till now.Prawns were raw and stale.Informed the owner and he was not even apologetic.Don't ever have food here!
My favorite Indian place. I've traveled the state to find others to compare and always come back here
It's fair food for a good price. The service was great. Overall the food was good my only real complaint is that the naan was a bit chewy and the battered fried veggies were a bit tough and dry.
Wonderful food and service!
The curry here is so good!
Awesome food! AMAZING owners, make you feel like family.
Good punjabi food and reasonable prices
Friendly staff and good service. The new location is better than the last. The food is tasty. The naan is fresh. The buffet is easy, but seems a little over priced.
Fills your belly, but not your heart. Something about the food left me feeling dissatisfied. To each his own.
The service was excellent, and the food was amazing. The cauliflower naan was some of the best I've ever had.
Love the buffet. Great Indian food
Bland Dali....decent saf rice and nan bread
Wonderful food, the lamb is Amazing BTW but the tandoori chicken was not very flavourful and definitely not close to others I have had and not a good representation of their other food because everything else was top notch. I will be eating here again for sure definitely a place to try. A+++
Decent lunch buffet. Everything was fresh.
Terrific food. Warm, comfortable setting. I will be back, and I'll bring a friend. They've earned the business.
First time having Indian food so I tried everything on the buffet. Only a couple things were a bit odd on my pallet but the whole buffet was good. We will be visiting again.
Super tasty food, friendly staff, casual, non-crowded atmosphere. Everything you could ask for, if you love Indian cuisine.
Went for Dinner Buffet and all the foods were stale, each and every one of them. Easily one of the worst Indian Resturant I've been to
Went to Starbucks
Wonderful! Very authentic Indian foods. The naan breads they have are very good and very well priced. The servers were very friendly. The paneer is much better than at other Indian restaurants. I will be coming here again with more people.
Nice ambience, food was good.
I love this place. Great Rogan Josh
I ate there for the first time since the move from Ninth Street. I think the world of the owners and staff, but I found the Nirvana Special (Chef's Special) to be extremely disappointing. I will try their afternoon buffet in the future (one of my favorites), but I don't plan to eat there again in the evening. The lamb was surprisingly tough. The Tandori chicken was sizzling and dramatic, but the taste was barely tandorish. The most flavorful food I had there tonight was the anise seed mixture just as you leave the restaurant. Sorry.
Fast, yummy.
Nom nom nom naan.
Went here a few months ago, forgot to review. Place was great! I'd never had Indian food before so I got the buffet and tried everything. It was very very good, place was busy so obviously lots of people like it!
Great food at a good price. Almost everything is gluten-free in their lunch buffet!
I really enjoy the food here. The owners know very well what vegan means and are happy to point out which dishes in the lunch buffet are vegan.
After experiencing a lot of Indian food over the years, such as Govinda’s in Eugene, Kirtan in various towns, the Hare Krsna restaurants from travels around the country, Bolly in Portland, etc... I can safely say this is hardly even Indian food. It’s like a poor adaptation with the wrong spices, small and large bones left in the chicken and other meat dishes (super careless prep), burned nan, greasy samosas, overly soupy and wet tandoori ... if you want to try Indian food, make it worthwhile and make the trip elsewhere like Gandhi in Portland or for sure Govindas in Eugene. Nirvana is truly not good at all in comparison.
Great food. Love their lunch buffet because it is a great value. Dinner is a little more expensive but well worth it.
Delicious, authentic Indian food from very nice family.
I love the restaurant and the people there.
One of my most favorite places to go. I've tried many other Indian restaurants, and I always experience the best service and consistently great food here.
Great food!
Probably the worst Indian food I ever had in the US, avoid at all cost....
Wonderful people serving wonderful food. A regular stop for me.
Very kind staff and delicious food!
I always appreciate the service at Nirvana! GREAT food, awesome prices, and quick, friendly service!
Hands down some of the best Indian food in the state. Owners are super nice and service is quick and accurate. I love it!
Decent Indian food. I thought some of the dishes didn't have enough salt.
What a nice bonus for the Corvallis restaurant scene. Was glad when this wonderful restaurant opened, because I have been disappointed with various other Indian restaurants in the valley. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The daily buffet has consistently good choices. The service is tops. I have become a regular, and one can always find Indian people eating there. That tells you something.
Please note that this review is only considering the lunch and dinner buffet. I will re-evaluate after ordering from their normal menu. My wife and I had previously tried the dinner buffet at there previous locarion, which unfortunately left much to be desired. After the move, however, everything seems to be much better. Both lunch and dinner buffets offer great selections and it is a wonderful value; ten or so bucks and it comes with a single serving soft drink! The service is also excellent. Overall, great food with great service at a great price!
Great new location, same great food!
Best restaurant in Corvallis. Buffet is always fresh and taste is always great.
Overall good and friendly people
So, we travel an hour to reach this place after confirming availability till 9PM. We reach this place, two families, parents and two babies, very hungry at 8.30 PM, only to find it closed. Upon calling, we are told that they had to go to the airport. We leave Hope there was no tragic emergency on their side. But if this was a result of being unprofessional, we have no more words
Usually get food to go. Chicken Tikka Masala medium spice.
Absolutely wonderful people bring equally wonderful food at Nirvana. Having frequented both their buffet and dinner service, their prices are fantastic for the quality you receive. Dinner service offers more variety in customization, and they are very mindful of spice levels for mild palates up to firetongue standards. Our family will be returning here many times in the future!
Only had lunch buffet a few times. Clean, good service, buffet is only ok. Had better in Salem but I am not in Salem.
Lunch buffet is sooo yummy for $$. Havent been to dinner yet, but looks twice as big!
Excellent food and attention
Loved it ❤️
Not much variety in the lunch buffet
The best! Moved to Albany 2 years ago from the bay area. Best lamb korma bar none. Thanks for a great dinner and we'll be back soon!
Pathetic food, not at all Indian it just look like. They made us it old tandoori chicken. Do not go there please. Better to go at Evergreen Indian restaurant on third street in Corvallis. Thanks
Dinner buffet was full of flavorful choices. The staff was attentive and courteous. Good price for quality Indian food. Dessert wasn't to my liking, but loved every main dish I tried, especially the vegetable samosas, and the sag palak.
Really love this restaurant! The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food tastes great! They will customize your order to your preference (mainly mild to spicy), and has a great quiet atmosphere! Prices great for what you get, and this will definitely be a go-to spot.
It's clean. The staff were friendly and polite, they served us quickly. I ordered onion Bhaji, it was not at all what I expected! The onion was cut into thick strips and fried, it was very salty. We also ordered Biriyani again not what we expected! They hadn't used Basmati rice, it was cooked with a short grain rice. It was cooked in a tomato based sauce....not white and fluffy rice but it was all clumped together. My friend ordered prawn Biriyani, again the same problems with the rice plus the prawns were very rubbery! Overall a very negative experience, we ate very little. I would definitely not recommend going here.
Love the food, and the people! Good prices..
Good, but not great Indian. Dinner is far, FAR better than lunch buffet. I very nearly wrote them off after disappointing buffet experiences. Went for dinner on the request of someone else, taste and quality are worth going back, at least for dinner.
Best buffet in town! With many dishes to choose from and great food this is a must visit for a great weekend lunch or dinner. Buffets only on Sat and Sun I belive
Delicious dinner buffet. Vegetarian friendly, the majority of the dishes were vegetable filled. We all really enjoyed the daal, various curries, samosas, all the naan we could eat. Very good, would visit again.
My all time favorite Indian food here in Corvallis. Fantastic buffet and very reasonable. Family owned and they are very lovely people.
Based on how varied the reviews are, I have to assume that Nirvana is inconsistent at best. Indian food is one of my favorite types of food, so when I moved here and found out there were two Indian restaurants in town, I was thrilled. Evergreen lived up to my expectations. Nirvana did not. Everything was over-salted. The chutneys weren't actually chutneys, but were super thin colored, salty sauces. The textures of the foods we ordered were off, too. I have friends who love this place, but I haven't been able to bring myself to go back. If you like good Indian food, Nirvana's not worth the risk. Go to Evergreen, instead.
Only had lunch buffet a few times. Clean, good service, buffet is only ok. Had better in Salem but I am not in Salem.
Worst Indian food I've ever had, I'm sorry - I honestly don't understand the other positive reviews and it makes me wonder if they've ever had Indian food anywhere else (which is confusing, since Evergreen in town is one of the best I've had - and I've lived in major west and east coast cities for most of my life and have eaten at a lot of Indian places, most just OK.). Buffet a few weeks back was watery, tasteless, incredibly bland, chicken tikka just tasted like salt + food coloring, chai was off and tasted like dishwater (bf's Pepsi was worse! How do you screw that up? And no refills on the awful Pepsi). The buffet was popular and the room was half full at least - no Indians or people under fifty in sight, except for us. Bafflingly bad. I'm sorry, Nirvana, I tried to like you. The worst frozen Indian food I've had was much better.
Friendly and helpful staff, good food and nice atmosphere. Will be coming back here again for sure.
Don’t go to this place. This is not the best Indian food and I have had some good Indian food. They only had a buffet and the curry they had didn’t even taste like curry. I have never eaten such bland tasting food. I’m not a huge salt person and I was putting salt on everything to try and make it taste better. I didn’t finish my first plate went back to get some salad to make the $10.99 I was paying for mine alone worth it. The salad didn’t even taste good. WAY to much cabbage and I like cabbage. No other options to really put on the salad other than spicy onions. So thoroughly disappointed as I was wanting some good Indian food and haven’t had any since moving here.
Excellent food, genuinely nice staff. Will obviously be back.
A little bigger than Evergreen, better for groups, also delicious.
The lunch buffet is great, it's definitely worth a trip up 9th street!
Wonderful food and fast service! The couple running the place was happy to have us. The lamb curries are sublime!
My favorite Indian restaurant in Corvallis! Incredible food not to mention the nicest owners.
I don't recommend this for people who know Indian restaurants!!!!
The best Indian Food around! My and my wife eat there almost once a week and it is hands down the best quality, taste and they provide excellent service. The prices for the buffet are really good and every dish is full of flavor.
I love Nirvana! The food is amazing, and the family that runs the restaurant is so sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala!
I never knew I liked Indian food until I came to this place. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is even better. I have become a regular and I would highly recommend Nirvana to anyone.
For a small town, Corvallis is lucky to have a wonderful restaurant as this.
Fantastic food. Family owned & operated. Home cooking. Comfort food. Delicious.
