Good was simply amazing here! Saturdays are really busy. You will wait some time for your food, but when it finally arrives, YOU WILL BE TOTALLY IMPRESSED! The atmosphere is wonderful! The vibe is cool. The staff is great! We will be back again!

Nick Pellegrino

Went two days in a row! Excellent breakfast meal. Got the biscuits and gravy half order, which was still very filling. The corn flake cover French toast was cooked perfectly so it wasn’t too mushy or overly dry. Second time got the meat ball hero with their home made fries. Meatballs were perfectly tender and full of flavor. Fries had a rich potato taste, but were a little soft and floppy for my texture preference. Decor of the place is pretty crazy looking with all the white and gold trim. Looks high end from the outside but prices were reasonable for the area

Gill Chang

Star rating is based on the food only Came here for breakfast. The scramble egg is good and the waffle is...well...waffle. They do have some other special dishes. I will definitely recommend this place and come back to try other dishes myself. Pro: good breakfast selections, friendly staffs, nice atmosphere

J. Davis

Incredible food, exceptional service at a fair price. Pancakes are simply wonderful and the brunch in general is a can't miss.

John Notte

Prime location for a quick bite or a memorable meal. The decor is remarkable, the food was delicious and memorable. A gem I. The rough

Adam Wardell

The service was friendly, the food was tasty, the portions were good, and the prices were decent.

Steven Coburn

Mother's was awesome! I went here with a couple of my best friends for brunch and it was well worth the wait. They had a convenient system which notified us when our table was ready. The service was excellent. Our server knew specific details about each drink and food item we wanted to know about. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast with an Irish coffee, which were all phenomenal. The setting was elegant, but we came casually dressed and didn't feel out of place. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant brunch experience.

Laurie Mc.B.

Had a lovely breakfast this morning... atmosphere was nice and food delicious.. would highly recommend. Servers were excellent also!

Thiago V

Long wait but the food was worth it. Salmon Hash is so delicious! I didn't order it but I kept eating from my girlfriend's plate lmao

Susan Hartner

Didnt love it. Extremely loud, food not great. Waiter was very attentive

L Jardine

Breakfast is good. The cinnamon roll is excellent. Very busy and “loud” place.

Khyle Socrates Jaen

Food was good. Prices were pretty standard for a big city. The place has really nice decor. Service was okay. Hosts seemed a little confused, the guy who walked us back had a passive aggressive attitude and our server was at the end of her shift and completely over it. When we come back to Portland I'm not sure if we'll go back, but at least we can say we went!

Frugal Que

Love this place. What I love most...the new location and the staff and the general ambiance. Yes the food is nothing truly exceptional because you can do this at home. However it is real food. If you are used to frozen or processed food, you will think you have died and gone to heaven. Worth every bite.

Wes Wang

I had my pasta dinner at the bar. The restaurant is at a convenient location. I got no response after I ordered my drink from the first bar tender. So, I had to ask a second bar tender to help ordering my drink and dinner. The second bar tender was very quick and responsive. The meat ball pasta was good but I cannot say that it was excellent. The amount is on the smaller side.

el Batzy

Great ambiance, great service, friendly staff, amazing food, big bar. Our whole family loves this place. It's great since they moved, so much more spacious! I love the eggs Benedict...heavenly! You won't be sorry you went. Wonderful place.

Amanda Dunn

Great service and food. The prices were very reasonable and the menu had great options.

Brittany Valencia-Fritsch

The food is good. It is a tad expensive. I have had breakfast and lunch here. I got a special dish that wasn't on the menu for breakfast it was a Cajun quiche. I loved it, covered in cheesy goodness. For lunch I had their chicken sandwich and the salmon dip. The dip was amazing the sandwich was okay. What threw me off was the tortilla chips on it. Why would you do that it just made it a dry sandwich. Anyways food is great expect to drop some bills. Also their bloody Mary's suck. The tomato mix has absolutely no flavor for ten bucks that thing better knock my fricken socks off. Also don't have hidden menu items the server may or may not tell you about.

Cathryn Moss

The food was very good...the coffee is stellar...Camille did an excellent job...the NOISE was deafening....DEAFENING... and even though we saw that there was empty tables we were finishing up and ASKED to leave after about an hour and 30 minutes without explanation...so do not pay the bill until you are totally finished

Marjaneh Zakaria

Staff were friendly but the food was just ok! Their hollandaise sauce was way too thick and heavy! Would not go back!

Darin Briskman

Mother's is always a good place to visit. We were there in the afternoon, after brunch but before dinner, so we had the limited menu they call Afternoon Delights, with soups, salads, and sandwiches. Everything was delicious, with friendly and efficient service.

Marvin Walters

My nephew myron recommended this place so I thought I’d give it a try. Maria was an exceptionally excellent waitress she had a good attitude and seem to know a lot about the French press coffee. The breakfast food rocked I was particularly impressed with the hand cut salsa. And the fluffiness is the omelette. They were happy to accommodate special requests as well I would recommend this establishment to all.

Mark B

Like my last visit over a year ago, the staff is very friendly, sincere and willing to help. The food cooked fresh and served warm. Mother's is in a new location, more room, and looks welcoming. I don't much care for the small two person tables set in a row like one large table. Chances are, you'll spend your meal elbow to elbow with the next table. I hoped the very large person next to me would not sneeze. Get rid of these tight tables, OK? They are not comfortable and it sucks. That is why I dropped my rating from 5 stars to 3.

The food here is amazing, and it was a great place to bring our 3-year old too! Their biscuits and gravy were especially amazing. We went on a weekday close to the end of their breakfast/lunch time (ends at 2:30pm), and had no trouble finding street parking, and were seated immediately, which was great. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful as well.

Chris Gann

It's mother's. It's amazing. It's always amazing. We just made our first visit to their new location since their move. It's definitely a different space from before, way more space for larger parties, but with the same throw pillows on the window seats and chandelier lighting. Oh and the mirrors are still firmly in place. We get something different every time we go. We've had the roasted chicken, meat loaf, salmon, crab cakes, various soups and salads, desserts, and cocktails over the years. We've never been let down and we're always glad we came. I don't want to forget the service. That's always top notch, their servers are professional and know the place well.

Peter Franzke

One of the best places for breakfast in downtown Portland. With plenty of parking located within walking distance Mother's Bristro has a upscale look but the atmosphere is of a causal family breakfast during the holidays. While food leans towards to the healthy options you can order the classic breakfast fare you'll find at a local diner with a higher quality. If your visiting our city and are looking for a relaxing breakfast that will be once familiar with home or if your finding this place for the first time it's definitely worth checking out. This is one of our favorite date spots. Even when it's busy, there's still an intimate atmosphere. The food is also amazing, and it's cool to see their rotataing features moms and menus. Definitely recommend for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Amy Tamayo

We were in town looking for a place for breakfast. This place is super cute inside and it's family friendly. Definitely recommend to visit when in Portland!

Sammy Pathammavong

Great spot for a hearty and traditional breakfast. We always have a hard time choosing where to go for breakfast/brunch. Mother’s always gets throne out and we unanimously agree to hit it up. Omelettes are

Tomma Mueller

What an amazing place! The staff was friendly, helpful and on point the whole time. Our waitress gave solid advice on food recommendations and really paid attention to detail. The food was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone!

Kathy Chapman

Food good. Crowded and busy. Excellent service. Raspberry cake was delish!

Kate H

Fantastic everything, except the biscuits. The buttermilk biscuits are totally off and spongy and soggy. Do not order them. Order anything else. Amazing omelettes. Crunchy French toast unlike any other I've had. Pancakes were fluffy and perfect. Best breakfast out I've had in a long time.

Elizabeth Wu

Beautiful restaurant and food was pretty yummy. Very popular place, but even though we were told wait would be about 30 minutes, we were seated in 15. Staff very accommodating: allowed me to order a lunch portion at dinnertime. And the portion still so larger I couldn't finish it! Desserts looked incredible; really wish I had room to try them!

Rohit Nair

Great ambience and a very lovely vibe, along with some very friendly staff. Frittata that I ordered was good, not great though. Will try other dishes next time.

Lacey Wadstein

The food and service is exceptional!!! Business was booming on a Monday, however I was seated promptly and received my food within 5 minutes of giving my order!!!

Lindsey Shunkwiler

This place is amazing. The ambiance is beautiful right when you first walk in. We were greeted by 2 friendly hosts who found us a table right away. I had my 2 daughters ages 7 and 5 and my niece 6 mos with me and they definitely accommodate families. The girls colored and read books provided by the staff. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had a delicious meal of hummus and pitas and chicken stir fry bowl. Will definitely come back.

Ginger Steele

Wonderful food and perfect service in a sophisticated setting. Sparkling new restaurant. I had the Crab Cakes, they were beautifully presented and just right in every way.

Chris T

Had to try this place while we were in Portland. Holy cow was the food amazing. The place was crazy insane wall to wall crazy and the service was excellent too. You couldn't ask for a better experience honestly. It's worth your time to go and check it out.

Andy Torrez

They are always busy and the wait is anywhere from 30 min to 1 hr, but is definitely worth it. They have the best eggs Benedict

john curran

The atmosphere was wonderful. The parking was challenging. I had the lox plate which i found disappointing. The bagel was stale and the lox was underwhelming in both flavor and portion size. I did taste some friends dishes and they were better than mine. I will give it one more chance to see if it improves.

Sophia Hu

Mother's Bistro and Bar was really busy during around brunch/lunch time. The food was really good here. I enjoyed their apple cider a lot! I blueberry pancakes, they were really good. The portions here are quite large though. That's good and bad. Come here with an empty stomach! My sister had grilled cheese sandwiches, which she really enjoyed.

Vicki Wilson

Mother's never disappoints. With their rotating menu there is always something to try. Their signature dishes are all really great. Now that they moved locations down the street (old Portland prime) it does still get really busy for brunch so keep that in mind. They have a great wine selection, great service, full bar and it looks really nice in there. If you visit Portland or are a local make sure you check it out!

Katrina Radmer

We stopped here because it was nearby where we parked. The wait was very short to be seated even though it was busy. Our server Jason K was the best part of the meal. Attentive without being smothering and funny. The food was good too, if we are back in Portland we would return for Jason's service first the food second.

Ben Breckon

We went for Sunday brunch and the food was great. The service was a little slow but they were slammed and the server was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. I don't think they take reservations so come early and don't be in a rush. The restaurant is huge so the waits aren't terrible for how busy they seem. I would like to go back to try more of the menu next time we are in town.

Joe Z

Came here a little after they opened for the day. The staff was super polite and the place was cute. The food was delicious. I had the breakfast "nachos" which was more like smothered potatoes. They were probably the best breakfast food I've ever eaten. Would give 6 stars if I could. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area, but if I did this would be my new regular breakfast place.

Melvin Anderson

Food was wonderful, real home cooked and baked fresh, staff was great and the place was elegant. Would definitely go again.

Elizabeth Douglas

Delicious blueberry pancakes! Chicken sausage was new to me, but still pretty good. It was busier than I expected for a Wednesday morning. My server wasn’t very attentive, but was very nice.

Daniel Roh

Ok, this place has some of the most legit breakfast by far. The service is a bit slower cause it's always packed, but pretty worth it. Friendly staff and good food. Portion sizes are really good for what you pay for too. Definitely recommend it

Fumi Matsubara

The restaurant came in highly recommended by our local friends so we waited patiently. After 30 min of wait, we were greeted into the space full of friendly smile and fragrance of joy. Wow, the wild salmon hash was to die for. Big chunks of salmon cooked in creamy bechamel sauce with sweet caramelized onions and herbs. Although the decor was fancy, people were nice; the service was excellent which is always a plus on a busy day. Best of all, the price was fairly reasonable. I can't wait for t to come back to Portland for more!

m t

I ordered a full order of Mac and cheese to go. It was $14. I expect to pay higher price in downtown Portland but..... the quantity was no more than 5 spoons. It was not enough even for a 3 year old. So I figured there was some misunderstanding and I went back to ask and confirm. The staff informed me that it was the right quantity. 20 pieces of penne and some cheese sauce... I expected a bit more I guess.....

This is the place to stop for brunch in Portland. The line will be around the block, but hang in there and wait it out; you will be rewarded in the end. This is hands down the best coffee I have had on the planet. I was reluctant to order up the pot of French press, because I thought it expensive, but in the end I said what the hell. Boy was I ever glad I did. It comes in a pot, but it is the best coffee you will ever drink. The Eggs Benedict was also worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a wait and possibly the best breakfast you will ever eat.

jason watson

One of the best places in Portland to get breakfast. It's one of Portlands culinary treasures!

Sharon Gary-Smith

Loved the immediate "Welcome" greeting just inside the door. Loved the professional and genuine hostess pass to server. Loved the amazing omelet - (please have the chef teach how to make the fluffiest smoothest omelet ever)! Loved the delish bacon & potatoes: crisp outside, soft & seasoned perfectly inside - and hot!! Superlatives all around.

Alex Cheroske

Atmosphere and service were great. Food was meh. Their signature Mac and cheese was kept under the heat lamp too long. The pot roast had great flavor but was a bit fatty. Peanut butter ice cream sandwich had great ice cream but whoopie pie like pieces were dry. Overall worth another try but was expecting more.

Kendrick Umstattd

Although busy due to it's adjacent location to the hotel, Mother's has an amazing menu, delightful and extensive French press coffee menu, and wonderful staff.

Mark Hancock

There is good reason that Mother's is rated as the best place to eat Breakfast in Portland. The food is delicious and very nicely presented. The restaurant is delightful and busy but still easy to hold a conversation in. The service is courteous, comfortable, and always there but never rushed. It is a great place for a fancy family breakfast, a breakfast date, or breakfast meetup.

art green

Really fun and clean restaurant. Weekends is really busy but they're really good at texting you when your table is ready. And the food is really delicious I definitely recommend this place

Abhinav KR

Ordered an omelette of the day and it was fantastic. Very friendly staff. High quality omelettes.

Melissa Tucker

Great food, atmosphere, and was sat down to eat fairly quickly. Great success for Saturday morning brunch!

Branden Franklin

I was pleasantly surprised to come back to Portland and find Mother’s in a new (larger) location! Mother’s is my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant in Portland. The food is amazing and the service is always on point. Be prepared for a bit of a wait as they are very popular and also attached to a hotel now. I have to recommend for the coffee drinkers to order the large French press with one of their specialty coffee selections.

Kailee Way

Their chicken and dumplings are absolutely amazing! Cooked perfectly and seasoned proportionally. Their serving sizes are wonderful too.

JESSI J WAY

Lovely upscale environment very bright. Prefect place for Sunday brunch. The redesign is delightful. Food is delicious

Rick Johnson

Very nice atmosphere. Kinda fancy but still nice for a casual breakfast. Food was very good and came pretty fast. The staff was very upbeat and friendly but not in a overbearing manner. The very strong French press coffee was my favorite part.

Martina Hagler

Ambience, customer service and food were excellent!!The cod was phenomenal. Visiting from out of town, would definitely recommend. Put on your bucket list of places to eat in Portland!!!

Sherri Kennedy

Super busy but worth the wait. Reservations highly recommended. Excellent service and food. We'll be back!!

Ed Khan

Great place for breakfast. Pancakes are tremendous and so is the Greek frittata.

Lance Kirby

Large menu of home style favorites with some new dishes mixed in. Reasonable pricing for the food quality. Get the peach crisp if you are lucky enough that they have it. It’s amazing.

Adam Klein

Food was delicious, service was great. New location is beautiful.

Shibalik Chakraborty

Really good food, be it breakfast or lunch. We came at a time when both were available and ended up trying both and were not disappointed with either. The french press coffee choices are excellent as well. Do come early since there is always a wait and says a lot about how popular this place is. Had the stuffed frittata and it turned out one of the best I have had. Would definitely be back to try more from this place.

ALAN VALENTE

Horrible experience. Ladies at front were useless. More interested in last night personal events than seating patrons. Was told 5-10 minute wait, 20 minutes later they are still chatting. When we got up to leave, they suddenly called us. Audrey seemed to be in charge but not much of a captain.

Audriana Zehra

This place is so yummy. The decor and vibe is bright and fun. We went for lunch and ordered the popular sandwich dishes but definitely plan on going back for the famous dinner and breakfast. Everything is made in house and you can taste the difference!

richard kalu

First time dining at Mother's. For starters, the place is really nice and fancy. Should actually have a more formal dress code, but hey, this is Portland! The staff is pretty awesome. There wasn't a wait time on a Friday night and the place was packed already when we got there. Brian was our waiter and he couldn't have done a better job. He knew the menu, the foods and drinks pretty well. Next, the food and drinks were made to perfection. We had the macadamia salmon, chicken fried chicken and key lime pie for dessert. On the other side of the building is a hotel which was nice as well. Overall, it was a great experience.

MOE JARADAT

Amazing experience, clean and inviting ambiance. Great service. The menu is huge and affordable. The press coffee was amazing. Will recommend However a reservation can save you some time. Enjoy your visit. I highly recommend Mother's when visiting Portland.

Kevin Cajas

A select variety of quality food and good service. The bar has good selection but the "specials" hours can be restricting though.

Steve Moore

Good food, friendly service but it was a long wait for the food!

michael christensen

the food here tastes like it's freaking homemade out of Mom's kitchen you want some good comfort food everything on the menu definitely has it everything we try it is really good even the vegetables we're seasoned perfect...the reason why no five-star is because you just didn't wow me except for the hostess lady that sat me LOL

nova mclaren

Truly excellent food, though the wait to be seated was week over an hour. It even took a while to get water and cocktails once we were seated. However, everything we ordered was spectacular. The smoked salmon rillettes was delicious, and I don't like smoked salmon as a rule. The chef's Mac n Cheese was the best if ever had. The waffle was perfect and the biscuits and gravy were artery-clogging extravagance. Well worth the wait.

ritu manjunathan

Had their asparagus leek special scrambled eggs. It was scrumptious!! So was the blueberry compote belgian waffles. Service was excellent - friendly and fairly efficient. Very cute ambience too! So glad we went there. Was pretty busy even for a weekday noon time brunch!

Tetiana Smith

Mother’s bistro is one of the best restaurants in Portland Oregon. There are home made food there. It is very delicious and always super fresh. There are many people in line over-there especially on Saturday. To book you table you should contact prior several weeks ahead. This is a place where I always want to come back. Amazing food and amazing people there. Can’t wait to try mother’s dishes again.

Joy Jenkins

We loved this restaurant! They have a fabulous breakfast. Great and friendly servers. I recommend the Challah French Toast!!

Christopher Finklea

Amazing food and Rob was great! He had perfect recommendations and made sure service was always spot-on timing. We will definitely be back!

Shannon Nichols

Went for breakfast around 11:30 on a Monday. There was a wait, but it wasn’t very long and the hosts were very friendly. Our waiter, Howard, was incredibly friendly and helpful at our first time here. I got the wild salmon hash and it was absolutely delicious. The rest of our food was as well. Also got French press coffee that was excellent especially for a regular breakfast place. Overall, we were super happy with the experience and would definitely return.

Reese Dame

I always take my family here when they're visiting. The Irish nachos and biscuit and gravy are delicious! Service is always great, despite it being so busy. And their new location has a ton more space

Brian Hansen

Very good food and coffee. Bloody Mary's need some work though. Great place to eat.

Shannon Haavik

We went for breakfast in a Saturday morning there was an hour wait so we walked to the Street market and got donuts across the street. Definately worth the wait! We had breakfast. I had the breakfast nachos with poached eggs on top n avocado on the side! Delicious!!! Mimosas were perfect too! Enjoy!!

Maryann Stevens

Really enjoyed the food! It was a great meeting spot for friends to gather.

Livs Bravo

Great food! Very busy for reason. Worth the wait if you have to.

Mary Schroeder

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Very busy and we waited 30 mins for a table. Food was great (we had lunch items a chicken+rice bowl and a salmon+rice bowl). Servers were friendly and attentive.

Intelligent Boi

Definitely recommend this bistro if you’re in Portland and you want an eatery that’s family-friendly but upbeat and fancy. Took a day trip to Portland with family and we settled on Mother’s after much deliberation; didn’t regret it. Menu is a bit pricy but the service and the atmosphere compensate for that. Our waiter, Brian, was very well-rounded and polite and had a good sense of humor. If we return to Portland Mother’s will be a top choice.

Leah MacLeod

Nice atmosphere, very clean. Quick friendly service from very knowledgeable staff. Everything I have tried is delicious, will definitely return!

Dace Sevcuna

Such a great place for a team event. They had a really cool looking wood table reserved for us. Service was amazing, food tasted exceptionally well, servers were friendly, accommodating, and attentive.

AJ Simmons

Great food. Layla provided good service. Chef Lisa stopped by to check on us. She is so thoughtful. On top of that we tried the chocolate cake; phenomenal. Texture and taste are great. Rich is an understatement. Good prices with quality ingredients make a great combo. Make a reservation because it is a busy place.

Jon Sitter

This place is delicious. Their new location is beautiful. This was our second visit. Breakfast was just as good if not better than lunch. A bit of a wait but well worth it. They even have a small play area for the kids with a little kitchen set. Super great service too!

Nicole Stuart

Seriously the best breakfast spot we tried in Portland! The biscuits and gravy were TO DIE FOR, the French toast was delicious (although very heavy and filling), and the salmon hash was sooo flavorful!

Gina Yuen

We lucked out by going on a Monday, and only had to wait 5mins for a table. Service is excellent, the pancakes are perfect. Will go back and try their lunch offering next time.

Lythande Polo

Really delicious but my only complaint was the dumplings in the chicken and dumplings tasted like they were just old biscuits put into the soup base. Excellent flavor and service tho, and we loved the atmosphere. It was classy but didn't leave us feeling like we had to wear a dress or suit to be there. My daughter liked that they had a small play area for the kids too.

Ernest Lazaro

It was very busy on Friday morning. However the service was reasonable and food was delicious. Blueberry pancakes were the best with Pork Apple sausage. Our server Eric was into his job which made our experience even better. Incidentally as big as the place is, there was a waiting line when we were leaving. Great atmosphere. B L D.

Amber G

Love the new location and food was amazing as always. Wish I could remember our waitress's name because she was great

Darren Ferguson

Wild salmon hash is a tiny taste explosion and you can just get a half order to keep the guilt at a minimum. Alcohol available and lots of tasty options.

Lance Tilton

Service was great and my sausage scramble and french toast were amazing. Excellent, fresh coffee. Fantastic experience overall.

Heather Sloan

Just had a baby shower here and it went wonderfully. There was a little snafu when it came to a miscommunication about seating the party prior to everyone’s arrival and a couple of the ladies at the front had a slight attitude about it. Ultimately, they allowed us to do what we needed to do, which was nice. Ethan was our waiter and he did an amazing job. Great communication. Great service! Thank you!

Camila Velez

A Portland must. I love when I have guests at home because is the best excuse to enjoy the delicacies of Mother's. Breakfast is the best and enjoy some cocktails while devouring the best biscuits and gravy in the city can't be defeated. Totally worth the line and the wait

G Fred Stevens

Very nice food in bright, uplifting, friendly environment. $ reasonable. Crowded dining room is loud making convo harder, but would go again without hesitation.

Jon Mandeville

I'm being a little critical, only because the new location doesn't have the same funky charm as their old location. But it's a lot more functional and seats more people. The weekend is usually controlled chaos, always packed, but the staff is friendly and efficient. The menu is consistently good. I mean really good! One of our go to places when taking guests out to eat.

Michael Taylor

Very welcoming staff from the moment I walked in. Very nice decor. Drip coffee is good too. Great biscuits and gravy.

Peter McIndoe

We had an excellent experience at Mothers this morning! Food was A+, the environment was cozy, but the real highlight of it all was the service! Quick, friendly, and informative. Howard is a true professional! Thanks for a great breakfast!

Muak

Really delicious brunch spot! Food flavour is well balanced, not too salty just right. Food quality is really good with fresh ingredients. Freshly squeezed Apple cider is really good not too sweet and it taste like real apple juice. You can make reservation at the front and they will text you when your table is ready. Very convenient. Highly recommended!

Robert B Richter

New location is attractive and a lot roomier. Food and service wasn't quite up to the excellence I'm used to from them this particular visit, or they'd get a 5-star (still good, just a notch down from their usual fantastic standard).

ron perry

Wow, amazing food and great service. The salmon hash was outstanding, never would have thought to get that for breakfast

Wade Staab

Good food. Great atmosphere. But if you don't have reservations on the weekend, better get there right when they open or you'll be waiting quite a while.

Susan Schiffler

Amazing food, service and atmosphere!

Leonard Murray

This is a superior restaurant with Superior prices. The selection is good, the staff is very friendly and I believe that the portions are adequate for the price. The food is fresh, made to order and immensely satisfying. Ordered the cheese plate and got an assortment of 4 amazing French cheese. The goat cheese is to die for.

Brent Goebel

Our slightly raucous group of 22 received excellent and attentive service, the entrees were delivered within seconds of each other, the recommendations spot on, and the food fantastical.

Patricia Brintnall

First time at Mother's, but I'll definitely go again. Great food, great service. The only negative I can think of is that it's noisy, but I was still able to carry on a conversation with my friend. Consider having the Breakfast Nachos -- great pricing and really good meal!!

Seth Purkerson

The 'Brown Cow' is one of the lesser known but delightful cocktails at Mother's Bistro; perfectly paired with breakfast! Get the cocktail iced and you'll have a delicious mocha beverage with a little kick start to your day!

Jonathan Dade

Open for an early breakfast when I went. Really only wanted a snack, by ate a whole breakfast instead it was so good. Lovely service and free flowing coffee. A great way to start the day. I had the three eggs over easy. Came out perfectly cooked and the toast was just right.

Alejandra Collazo

Great food! Our server was great and offered us options to make multiple entrees into one that way we would get a little of everything. My egg white omelet was the best I have ever had! The eggs were so fluffy! French toast with corn flakes were fantastic and a combination that goes well together. Blueberry pancakes were phenomenal with the blueberries being sourced locally. A must try when in Portland but recommend making a reservation as we would have loved to try their dinner but were told they were booked 3 weeks in advance!

Mike Fulton

Very busy. Very friendly. Very tasty! Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning on the recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed. We timed it right and got in with only a short wait but they definitely had a steady stream of customers all through our visit. The waitress was busy and moving the entire time but she never failed to take care of our drinks, questions, or requests. The food was top notch. Flavorful and served in good portions. I was impressed and would definitely return.

Ian CransonsKnees

Visited for breakfast, get there early it fills up quickly! We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. Spotlessly clean and still felt spacious despite being full, atmosphere was buzzing. Stuffed fritatta was tasty and filling, granola topped it off nicely. French press coffee is very flavourful. Would be very happy to try for lunch or dinner too.

Wendy Hamilton

Found this wonderful restaurant while visiting Portland. So glad we decided to experience this! Yes, it was crazy busy since it was a Sunday brunch time, but we were fortunate to get seats at the bar and waiting just a few minutes. The food was outstanding as well as the service. Next time I am in Portland this will be my new "go-to"..

Ganesh Gunaji

I've eaten dinner here many times over the years. The staff has always been extremely friendly. The new location has a beautiful atmosphere. I feel like Mother's Bistro gives you a LOT of great food for the prices compared to other restaurants in the downtown area. I am a huge fan of the chicken fried chicken. That's my go-to dinner, but I also occasionally enjoy the steak. As far as the appetizers go, you can't go wrong with Irish Nachos! Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Portland aside from the fact that a friend of mine had a bad experience working there.

Omg I came to enjoy Mother's for my boyfriend's birthday. I've been to Mother's while they were in their old location; this is my first time at their new one. This new space is such an improvement! Their food is top quality as always. I totally recommend the salmon spread appetizer! Mona was our server and she was a RIOT! So personable and fun (bless!). There was a little wait between courses, but she handled it so well. Mother's is easily my favorite comfort food restaurant in Portland.

Food and service are top notch. Try to save room for desert. I dare you!!

Great classic Portland restaurant. Super friendly staff, great food and awesome vibe.

The Collective on 4th

This place is a Portland gem. Maria M. and Audrey at the front desk deserve a big virtual hug for their energy and smiley faces they always bring to the restaurant. The food is divine. The service is prompt and friendly. The dining areas are so cozy, artistic and welcoming. My favorite thing to order for lunch is their cabbage rolls and buttery mash potatoes this plate comes with! SO TASTY! Very pleased to have excellent service and know that we are supporting a local business. We are happy to share with our future residents and hope that you will enjoy your experience here like we did. -Kim approved

Everything is fantastic. Expect the wait time. It can be from an hour to 2 sometimes. Since they moved the location it hasn’t made a lot of difference with the wait time . They don’t do reservations. So it’s first come first server. I wish they could change that. After our names were called out it still took 20+ mins until we got placed on a table. So I have to wait for an hour and then 20mins to be seated. Not sure if that’s worth the hype.

The food is simply outstanding. Worth the wait for brunch. The ambience and decor are enjoyable too.

Mark Menger

Nice space. Tasty food. Could have been more consistently cooked.

Glenn Johnson

Better fare than most busy lunch time restaurants. The server was excellent. She was very patient, attentive and polite (unlike a particular server who seems think of himself as the center of attention). Would love for Mothers to focus again on quality and not quantity or theatrical servers.

Caroline Wood

Good food great service.reasonable price

We went there twice for breakfast during our stay in Portland. The service was amazing and everything we had was very tasty.

Crystal Batey

Great menu selection and delicious coffee. I had the omelette special of the day with toast and potatoes. Well worth the $15. The server was great; knowledgable of the menu, extremely friendly, and very attentive. Be sure to stop in for a sunrise (6:30) breakfast and beat the crowd.

The food here is always good. We usually eat here for breakfast everyday when we are in Portland. We also eat outside everytime since we have our two pomeranian's with us. They always get special treatment as well. The staff is always super nice.

Mother's did not disappoint & I would highly recommend it for anyone, especially if you have company visit town. We ate lunch but the breakfast/brunch menu looked so enticing!! The coffee was delicious and the sweet treats were so good!!!!

Valerie Bleakley

Lovely dining place! Comfort foods ordered were Matzah ball soup, meatloaf, mac and cheese and chicken and dumplings. Everything was delicious, lovely atmosphere and amazing service. Creme brulee for dessert was excellent.

Best food and lovely staff. Erick was absolutely wonderful.

Good food, small portions ,except to pay at least 20 a person plus 18%tip but food is great the only problem i see is you pay a lot and leave not full with ordering just the entree they do that so you have to order the starter and dessert to be full which would cost about 45 a person with drinks non alcohol they dont even list soda's drinks on menu and a side of bacon is 5 dollers not on menu so if you have money to waste and like good tasting food its good but you wont leave full just ordering the entree

Trying Mother's Bistro & Bar thinks me why I came here alone? The place, the ambiance is very romantic perfect for two love birds. One of the most romantic restaurants I have been. Food is precious. I order duck breast and leg confit and chocolate molten cake. I just wish I have my boyfriend here, he will definitely love this place, with a dimly lit, the flair of a European country style with a fireplace and candles on the tables. Services are good, though server is inattentive in taking orders and parking is a little rough. Definitely come back here with my boy.

Kristen S.

Love the atmosphere. Great service and good.

Matthew Craig

I would have given this place five stars. But we waited almost an hour to get our food. Very busy be prepared for a wait.

Irene Moritz

Food was delicious, atmosphere was great. Service was 5 star. Cant wait to stop in again soon. One of our favorites in Portland.

Lauren Daitz

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food!

Alex Gonzalez

Over priced and the food and service are just ok. Went to Portland on a work conference and this place was recommended. Wouldn't go back on our next Portland trip.

BoxTar

Wonderful food, cozy atmosphere, and fantastic customer service. Only nitpick is that they lay the ac on a little too hard, but most probably wouldn't even notice. A must stop if you're visiting!

This was the last restaurant we visited on our way out of Oregon. We had been to quite a few eateries up and down the coast but this was definitely the perfect for our finale. The quality of the food was high class, waiters were quick and attentive, the wait was minimal. The only 2 issues we had were it was very loud because it was so busy (but not so busy the service was degraded) and parking, but that tends to be an issue in any metropolitan downtown area.

This place is amazing. The food and drinks we're delicious. We had the Challah French toast and biscuit and gravy. Both were excellent. My wife had the bloody Mary, I had the spicy bloody Maria. Both were well made although it was difficult for us to tell which was which (aside from the garnish). The staff was attentive and prompt. It was quite busy (1hr wait for a table for 2) and I didn't see a single staff member who wasn't hustling. I've been here several times and it seems to always be busy. I would highly recommend this place if you have the time.

Ethan Jensen

Amazing food and the staff a bery nice and helpful. My server was very nice. She really cared about usbhaving a good breakfast.

Prateek Sharma

Awesome crunchy French toast. Delicious brunch entrées. Not as expensive for how fancy it looks. We spent 40$ including tips for 2 people with shared French toast and an entree each.

This place came highly recommend to us by a close friend and appeared to be very popular because it was packed every time we paced by and the day we decided to have breakfast. Unfortunately, they are very slow and disorganized with their service and I really wasn't over impressed with the over all food experience. When we first got there, there appeared to be several hosts working, but not in any organized fashion and they didn't seem to know who was up to help or where to go for seating. However, they were friendly and greeted us warmly so it wasn't a deal breaker at that point. When we got seated, a waiter came around fairly quickly to take our orders, but then came the wait. It took an abnormally long time just to get coffee and then more frustrating to have to wait for the creamer that didn't come when it was ordered at the time the coffee was. The food was the really long wait. We didn't order anything complicated and I consider the dishes to be fairly basic that we picked, but it was long wait. Apparently there was a couple next to us that had been waiting long that got upset and left. Getting to the food, the Biscuits and Gravy are supposed to be something they are known for. I will give them props for a good gravy, but the biscuits killed the gravy. Don't know if it needed more gravy or a less of a biscuit, but it was a disappointment in the end. On the other hand, the Salmon Hash was not to bad. It had big chunks of salmon and was a hearty portion. I would not get the house coffee. They said it was their own special blend, but did not taste good at all. Maybe it was just us, but I really didn't see anything great about this place. It probably had it's day and became to popular for it's own good. Of course, usually when a popular restaurant goes downhill, it is more then likely the management in the end. I am not going to crucify this place, because maybe we just had a bad experience, but I cannot in good fair recommend it. There are so many great places to eat in Portland, you decide on your own.

Yrlane Barros

Fancy and expensive for a breakfast that the taste doesn’t corresponding with the price. Just cross the street and have an incredible experience in Bijou!

Alvena Mironi

Came here for a birthday celebration and it was simply lovely. Great atmosphere, kid friendly, wonderful staff, and yummy food. My husband had the beef roast which was tasty but somewhat of a small portion. I had the cauliflower soup which wasn’t my favorite. The chocolate cake was perfect.

Colin Huber

If you can find parking, this is one of the besf breakfast spot in the city, with some amazing lunch options too. If you're a pancake person, I promise you've never tasted anything like these. Also recommend the reuben!

Jessie Duarte

We met our friends there and had a fantastic dinner .The gorgonozola candied walnut salad was awesome

This place is cute and the food is yummy. It’s such an interesting concept and the food does it justice. It’s exactly what it claims to be - more refined home cooking/ comfort food dishes. Our server was friendly and gave us great, prompt service. When we declined to order from the dessert menu (too full), she brought us two little cookies to try anyway for free. We went for lunch and had sandwiches but now I want to go back to try breakfast and dinner! Maybe next time I come back to Portland.

One of the best places in Portland. Great breakfast and brunch selection. The chocolate chip pancakes are phenomenal. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Kathryn Gay

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. You can order half portions so I was able to eat both the Cornflake crusted challah bread French toast (yummy!) and the biscuits and sausage gravy (best I've ever had).

Michael Dolloff

Always very high quality food and service. I have a tough time NOT ordering off the breakfast menu as the hashes and scrambles are so good. The new(ish) place is very nice inside. While busy they seat very effectively and the service is awesome-very personable and attentive. Highly recommend for breakfast and lunch -I am sure dinner is awesome too.

Fei stetzwa

Delicious fresh and crunchy salad just what I needed on a sweltering afternoon. Breakfast all-day what's not to love. Extensive menu.

Andrew

Excellent food, excellent service. Bustling yet efficient bistro serving creative scratch-made entrees.
