Awesome!!! The buffet is great, as are the prices! Very friendly staff!
Humani is consistently great with their offerings. Whether you go for the lunch buffet to try everything out, or pick a favorite (or 2) from the dinner menu, just really good. My favorite is the Mushroom Mutter. They have a wide selection of vegetarian and gluten free options too. And the owners are super sweet and usually there with the kiddos. This is one of our favorite Astoria restaurants for dinner.
Himani has the most flavorful comfort food. Every dish is amazing in it's own way. The lamb is perfectly tender as well as the chicken. They also have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that make it hard to choose from. Everything comes as spicy as you prefer also. My favorites are the Biryani dishes, mixed grill, chicken Tikka masala, lamb korma, garlic nan, and spinach kofta to name just a few. Don't pass up the chance at the best Indian food in the Northwest.
10/10 reccomend. beautifully cooked, awesome presentation and price. best restaurant in Astoria. only wish they had an outpost in Portland.
Amazing food. Did take out and really loved everything we got.
Absolutely amazing Indian food. Been there several times and have never had a bad meal. A must-go in the Astoria area!
Good Indian food when most unexpected. If you are around Astoria and crave Indian, give this a shot!
Awesome food!
Very healthy and varied menu to select choice(s). Very nice and helpful staff. Will certainly come again!
This is a great place for eating Indian food. Such amazing staff. Amazing food. Quality over quantity. Very surreal ambience. Great interior. Overall we had such a great time.
1st time eating Indian food not bad
Wonderful quality in astonishing amounts. Indian in Astoria! Very humble surroundings with not very promising decor. Ignore that and go! I consider it a destination restaurant.
Tasty food in a good ambience at great location. Good service.
Food was well prepared and flavorful. Service was fast and friendly.
Best Indian food in the Pacific northwest
Prepare to be underwhelmed. The food here isn’t exactly authentic; the so called “rasam” they had was just boiled mixed vegetables in some coconut sauce (In which alternate universe that counts as rasam, I have no idea) and their vegetarian options were severely lacking. However, the service and overall ambience was excellent. Both the waitresses were really kind and quick to answer.
I grew up eating authentic Indian food in my family, and in various places around the world. This is by far the most authentic Indian food I have had in over a decade, and definitely the best tasting Indian food I have ever had in the United States. We ordered fresh from the menu, but I have no doubt that the buffet is of high quality as well. Eating here is worth any wait, and they could honestly be charging much higher prices considering the quality and location. I've never left a larger tip!
Food is really nice here. It's very serene place to be with your loved ones. Best place for Indian food lovers in Astoria.
My husband doesn't like Indian food (he doesn't know what he's been missing), so I finally took the kids when he was out of town. All three of them loved everything and my three year old asked to come back "every night!" The service was friendly and fast enough. We will definitely be back.
Great Indian food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the atmosphere was good, and the staff very friendly.
I am so glad there is Indian food in Astoria
Its amazing..
Curry is full of flavor and service was quick!
decent Indian lunch buffet. It would be nice if they varied the buffet selection a bit. Super nice people.
Chai tea wasn't good and hot there was no taste in it Mango mouse was awesome And rest was alright
Wonderful Indian food, nice atmosphere, family-owned.
Entire entries excessively salted. Scant Indian spice if any used. Would not return. We have eaten Indian cuisine all over the US. This is the worst .
Amazing food worth it
Excellent food and service. A group of us had lunch. Everyone enjoyed all their food. Plenty of variety. Will return. When guest visit this will be on the list.
Please fix the chairs in the booth seating
Good Indian food.
Friendly staff. Delicious food, especially the butter chicken. Portions seem a bit small for the price. Will definitely eat here again.
Great buffet. Excellent food and friendly staff.
Only spot on the coast for Indian food. Decent buffet, but it is tough when one has had better. Nice owners. Street parking.
Good quality food and equally good service in the town.
Possibly the worst abberation of Indian food this side of the equator. To top it off they dont serve beer or wine which should be a punishable offense and mandatory with Indian food!
It was the Best Indian food I have eaten in USA. Yesterday in ala carte ordered Chana Masala , Kadai Paneer and Naan. Each and every thing was authentic Indian ....no compromise on taste. Naan was perfectly baked (the best ever I have eaten in USA). Service was nice. But the quantity of veggie curry should be a little more.
If you are looking for the best Lamb Vindaloo in "Oregon" you found it. A real Vindaloo, real Indian cuisine. Yummo !! -- Again and Again Consistency -- Ask for the chef to make you and English Hot Lamb Vindaloo. -- perfect hot Vindaloo every time. Chef only uses Australian Lamb.!!! OMG.!!!
Amazing!!! Best Indian food I've ever had! Perfect everything, and my family members who live here and come here often, say it is always amazing every time they come here. Must eat here!
Why close on possibly the busiest night of week? Friday..Bummed to see it closed on the only night in town.
Incredibly tasty cuisine. Great complementing dishes. Highly recommend, you might need a nap afterwards!
Best Indian on the coast, but not up to the quality of the average Indian restaurant in Hillsboro. It was nice to find, but not worth going out of the way for.
The food is always fresh and delicious.
Wonderfully flavored foods. 3rd best I've tasted in the NW
Decor and ambiance is average, food was decent for Indian. Prices were way too high for only decent Indian food.
Wow! The Hyderabai Lamb and Lamb Korma are out of this world. The garlic naan is as delicious as the very best I've had at high end restaurants in Seattle and DC. Love this place!
Best Inidian food! Better than places in Portland. Perfect amount of flavor and meat in every dish.
Excellent food, great service
Delicious butter chicken and saag in lunch buffet. Will come again for dinner.
Goodratings, even if it could be spicier.
Always tasty. Wonderful array of flavors.
Fantastic food & fun atmosphere. The new, blonde, bearded server was great too! (He wasn't wearing a name tag)
Loved and the workers are wonderful
All the food is delicious. The Na'an is my favorite. Must stop by and enjoy the curry.
Decent Indian food.
Not the best Indian food I've had but good and fresh. Pleasant wait staff and dining room. Lunch buffet had small but interesting and well prepared variety of dishes. Staff had difficulty keeping some dishes replenished and shallow serving bowls in steam table did not keep food hot enough. That said, I'd be back if I lived in Astoria.
Very big and spacious place from inside. Dal and paneer was very bland, even though we asked for medium spicy, naan was under cooked a little bit. Service was slow as food took a while to come. But seems like they make their own paneer as it was very fresh with a good texture. Next time if I go will try spicy to see if they as more flavor.
Absolutely amazing food and the service was also superb. I will definitely come again when back in Astoria.
We ate the lunch buffet. It was OK.
I’m a Brit and I’m telling you that my curry here was good. Hella good. It was phal hot, freshly made and made me groan the next day. Try it. Don’t be shy.
Amazing India food.. Clean with Indian vibe. Hosts offered great service. We tried Chicken Biriyani and Navratna Biriyani..both were good.
I've been several times, one of the best places in Astoria. The food is INCREDIBLE and the staff is super sweet. They are always very gracious and make their customers feel at home. This is a must-visit in Astoria
Very good food and great location
I finally tried the lunch buffet and WOW it was great! It had ALL the unique Indian dishes and sauces that I remembered from when I was dating a man from India during my college years. Great price and the only buffet I'll ever rave about. The service was fantastic and very friendly. I can't wait to go back.
LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!!
I think the "chefs" of this place need to go back to India for a refresher course in taste. Their tomato base for a lot of the dishes are absolutely sub par
We got there when it was buffet and plenty choices of yummy food relaxing atmosphere and prices not bad :)
Great place for Indian food. They have a kids playing area, so that you will enjoy your food while they enjoy playing.
Lunch Buffett was amazing! A wide variety of unique selections at a very affordable price. Highly recommend!!
Atmosphere is great, kid tollerant , quality food and great service. So grateful to have wonderful Indian restaurant in Astoria!
Pricey but good. I recommend the lunch buffet, that way you can try their food.
We had been here last year, new to the area searching for Indian food so we saw this... Elderly guy of the staff made us really comfortable so we remember this place
Authentic Indian food and courteous staff
Bad customer service.. bad food
First time last time
The Sunday lunch buffet was truly outstanding and the people were extremely nice and hospitable.. The waitress took the time to chat to my baby when she could see the baby getting a little fussy while I ate.. They had a play room which I didn't take advantage of since my child is too young to do so but what a wonderful idea to have one in the restaurant.. Their family friendliness is also apparent when you enter the women's rest room to find an actual changing table with a changing pad on it instead of one of those plastic ones stuck to a wall. Thoroughly impressed and very satisfied with our entire experience.. Highly recommended! :)
Excellent service and excellent food. Authentic as if I am eating dinner in India again.
We Love the Food . It's always so fresh and atmosphere is very family oriented . If you haven't been , it's a must !
So delishous. A real must try if you are in the Astoria area.
Best indian food ive had in Oregon yet!
Delicious Indian menus with good quality and taste
The food was good, delicious lamb and kafta, also had mushroom mutter. Over all okay, but the service was a tad weird.
We loved it, food was delicious. But did not have saag when we visited. It was great. I overate..bad move
Food is really good.. pleasant service and nice ambience.. nice for family and casual dinner
The best this is so good.....
Tasty food, friendly service. Many menu items that are not on every Indian restaurant's menu in the US.
DISCLAIMER- We left before eating, so I cannot comment on the food, and therefore have given it 3 stars out of neutrality. We walked in there at about 815 on a Monday night, and it was deserted. There was one weird customer hiding in the corner clanking about. We looked at the menu for 5 min, still no one. We waited longer, and the place just got weirder. It felt like a deserted middle school dance, bad decor and a lack of bodies. I've heard their food is good, but unfortunately, won't be able to try it in a while.
They have no idea how to cook Indian food ....
Very good food. Family atmosphere, great service. When you enter a restaurant you should always smell food, Himani always smells like authentic Indian food! It all tastes great!
One of the worst dining experiences of my life. I went in so optimistic and so hungry! Atmosphere: nonexistent. We sat for AN HOUR before we got our food. The servings were tiny for the $15 a dish we were paying. Still hungry. Food was really bland, which sounds crazy coming from a white girl eating at an Indian restaurant. We almost left but the server offered us some free naan to stay and eat. We should have left. Naan was rushed out to us and was doughy and undercooked. The server made excuses about how everyone's food took that long and that her relative is the owner and he yells at her so she can't give us a discount. The busser comes by and asks us to help him clear our table and starts wiping down our table slowly while we're still sitting and talking. I am almost amused by how awful this experience was. Almost.
I go for the buffet lunch at least two times a month. Astoria restaurants can be fairly expensive so lunch here is a great deal. Always a great selection. Everyone I've ever brought here loved it.
Amazing g
Not so many vegetarian options as one would expect from an Indian buffet.
Our favorite Indian restaurant! Regional dishes from the owners home regions rock!
Great price, delicious.
Not the quickest choice, but it was the best Indian food I've ever had.
Great food with that authentic flavor.
Love that they have southern Indian choices. The dosa was amazing and the chutneys were too!!
Delicious and fresh food, clean dining area, and relaxing atmosphere. Would gladly have the buffet again.
We didn't expect to get Indian food here, but I wouldn't recommend the food here.
Best indian food I've had in the PNW. Paneer makhani was to die for. They cooked it perfectly. Beats Portland and Vancouver.
Went to the lunch buffet on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. and the buffet closed at 3:00. I expected fresher options and maybe more of each option. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't excellent. They were very nice!
The food is amazing!
We all enjoyed the visit, food, prices, all this great.
Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Great service
Very good food, friendly service with a smile
Always a very relaxed atmosphere! Very family oriented. Fast and friendly service and good food!
Ridiculously delicious food. If you are looking for something different that will set your taste buds ablaze come here.
Excellent food. We went for dinner and very authentic taste. We loved it.
Great food. Wonderful staff. Good price
Buffet was really good!! Bummed they didn't have onion chutney. Don't sit by the window for lunch!!! Atmosphere was basic no wow factor but I didn't come for atmosphere! They did run out of two of their entrees.
I loved the food.
The tandoori salmon is out of this world.
Quite possibly one of the best Indian buffets I've experienced. For the quality, variety, taste, and price it's really hard to beat their offering. I really enjoyed the fact they had plenty of healthy options, including lots of different vegetable options. A plate of their channa masala, the spiced broccoli, tandoori chicken, and the sunshine kale salad is exactly the kind of food I enjoy to fill me up with the right balance of flavors without feeling weighed down. There are plenty of other options that are creamy or fried, so this buffet has something to suit most group's palate. The naan is great, the rice fresh, and the mango dessert mousse was delightfully refreshing. This has now become a must stop lunch place for me when I come back through Astoria. From what I remember, the lunch buffet is everyday they are open EXCEPT Saturdays. Don't miss a chance to have lunch here, you won't regret!
Not a great place for Indian food. Service was bad too. Masala vada is not completely cooked, rice is too dry in Vegatable Pulav (which barely had any vegetables). They are bad at refilling items too. Everytime I went to get something from the buffet counter, half of the dishes were empty and it didn't seem like they cared about this.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The chicken tikka Masala was fantastic and the garlic naan delicious. The samosa was cold inside and not crispy outside or I would give it 5 stars.
Customer service was just fine, everyone was attentive, polite, and helpful. I had the chicken tikka masala, the chicken was so moist and so good, I was shocked to see how many people were saying the chicken was too dry. My partner in crime had the aloo gobi, a tad spicier than mine despite us both getting "medium" (little too weak for someone who likes spice), we both found that while it was really good it, when compared to other places we have been to, seemed to be lacking in some way. Still highly recommend, probably one of the best places in the area.
Very good food and variety. Delicious
Yummy choices on the buffet but seams to have either chicken items or vegies, no lamb or other meats.
Sujay and Lorenda are wonderful. The food is great.
Great south indian food. Poori, masala dosa were top class.
I've been working my way through the menu. Each time I like trying something new. I have a couple favs but I've absolutely loved everything I have ever tried. It's hard not to stop there everytime I drive by. The flavors are amazing and the service is attentive and welcoming. Don't pass up stopping in here for a wonderful experience.
Surprisingly good Indian buffet. Will be back.
The ambience is soothing, the food is yummy. Basically it offers Indian cuisine and there are many options available. We liked the mixed snack platter and biriyani. The staff was friendly but a little slow. I would recommend this place if anyone is looking for Indian food.
Fantastic
Stopped in for dinner tonight.. never been here before and we both loved the Coconut almond chicken curry and they're appetizer platter was amazing... Will definitely be back thank you all for the good food and good experience....
Most delicious Indian food I've ever had! Great portions, great food, and, great service! You won't be disappointed!
We loved this place. Family owned is always best! The food was amazing. The HIMANI'S MIXED GRILL $20 was so amazing! Lots of food (could be shared) the tandoori chicken was truly the best I've ever had! My boyfriend had Lamb Hyderabad *spicy, the flavor of the sauce was delicious and spicy as requested (i never actually find spicy food, spicy Lol). Our server was adorable. She was very polite and very efficient. We will DEFINITELY make this our go-to for yummy Indian cuisine.
Easy access and nice atmosphere. Food is great!
Very good food! Great people.
The Himani Chicken Curry is to die for! This is probably the best Indian we have ever had in the PNW! Any time we are in the area this is a must for us.
I work here as a hostess and they definitely have the best Indian food on the coast! We have the coolest customers that come in as well .
My favorite restaurant in Astoria hands down! Go in for the lunch buffet and you won't be disappointed. It's an experience and I guarantee you will find something you love.
Excellent food with friendly service!
The Lamb Saag made with minced spinach and additional spices :) is excellent!!! They are very customer oriented staff.
Worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Half the food never arrived, and service was very slow for the food that did arrive. There are many good restaurants in Astoria. This isn't one of them.
Tried the buffet and was super disappointed especially after reading all the good reviews
It's the only Indian food place in Astoria, lunch is buffet only which is not bad only limited in choices. Dinners are very good.
It's a great place to eat! The staff are wonderful and so is the food. If we had any questions they were helpful. The buffet is fantastic and it all tastes really good. The dessert options are also delicious. Overall, we had a great experience!
Top 5 Astoria eats
Great food! Worth the stop! Good Indian food is rare in Oregon!
So amazing!! Everything tasted great!
We eat here every Sunday. The food is delicious, and home made. Something new to try every week, and of course, everyone's favorite dish is wonderful. The owners are special people, who's kindness spills over to all who work there.
Awesome Place. Good tasty lunch buffet. Good Ambiance and Friendly staff. This restaurant has a kids play area with lots of toys which our 3 year old enjoyed the most.
Took a take away from this place. Hands down. Best cut Mirchi and samosa I have had in the states.
Slow service, had to really look for the waitresses for a while as they were distracted playing with their kid ... not very professional. Food is ok, but kind of oily
The food is so delicious! We usually go for the buffet so we can try a variety of things. So many favorite dishes
Their Chicken Coconut Koorma is to die for. Loved the place and the service. Vegan/vegetarian options are great too.
Favorite food spot while in Astoria. All you can eat buffet serving delicious, fresh Indian cuisine at a good price. The butter chicken is to die for! Seriously, put it over a bed of yellow rice and grab some nann. Freakin' yummm! I also love their rice dessert, from scratch sauce selection, (includung a delicious chutney and taziki type dip to name a few) and their homemade mango mouse. Pleasant service and delicious food. Will absolutely be returning and highly recommend.
Mouth watering appetizer platter
Food was good, but I suppose we came in at a bad time because a lot of the food was gone. Limited food choices, but I will give it 4 stars because it was tasty.
Authentic Awesome Indian cuisine. Highly recommended. Buffet is delicious with takeout option for me today to take back to Seaside. Friendly staff. Sometimes available at Astoria Farmer's market during summers.
The food is good, the best buffet or restaurant in Astoria
Came in for lunch buffet while visiting the town. Fantastic atmosphere. Food is really good. We'll definitely be back at dinner time for some biryani.
Amazing! Best Indian food I've ever had!!
Consistently great. Love the kids area too!
Good Indian food. Plenty to choose from and share. get ready to stuff yourself because you want to try everything,
Great food and amazing people!! Love going back to himani every time we're in Astoria.
