So was stuck in this area for a day ad a half and didn't eat here until lunch on the last day. Food was great, service excellence. I had the egg benny, just the classic but the crepes that when by looked beautiful,( should of tried them). I would advise that before trying another restaurant in the area try this one. I think you will be surprised by the food. It tastes well prepared.

First at all, the staff there is really nice. The lady made sure we liked the food and asked if everything was alright. The food was as we expected; freshly made and good. I wouldn’t recommend eating there if you are on a diet because everything was pretty high in calories but it tasted good. But neither me or any of my friends have ever heard of this kind of “german” pancake even though we are Germans :D

Terrible food. Tastes frozen then warmed. Hashbrowns were cold. I told hostess she didn't care and charged full price. She just wanted to move onto the next person. Poor quality everything. I will only eat breakfast at a Biscuits Cafe from now on. Reading the other reviews and I wish people had higher standards.

front desk was very friendly waiter seemed just ok friendly but seemed always in a rush even though it wasnt busy we had the bacon cheeseburger which he said was pretty good I had the Turkey dinner good portion but veggies were brocolli and mini carrots but way to much garlic for me mashed potatoes were excellent real potatoes not those boxed ones Turkey was good and average stove top dressing I had soup to start and it was delicious would of liked a dinner bun with a Turkey dinner all in all it's a diner very similar to sharris but without the pie

Oh man!! I went in on my lunch break and wanted a burger that they didn't have, so the waitress came out and asked me all sorts of questions and was very accommodating. Although it was an 11.00 dollar hamburger, it was freaking delicious. I don't think I've ever had a better one, and they don't even specialize in them!!! Yum. I recommend them any day, Kendall is amazing too but I'm bias, lol because I work with him at another job. :) thanks guys you're amazing!

I've been to this location many times over the years and have always been 4-5 star pleased with everything about the place. However, this time on 1/22 in the evening, I was less than pleased with everything. The only piece that was pleasant was the greeting when we got there. The servers were not pleasant and acted like we were bothering them. The food, soup of the day, salad, and garlic toast was terrible and I've had all of that before here. Soup looked and tasted like it was the bottom of the pot with small, mushy noodles, bits of vegetables and odd thick consistency. Salad wasn't fresh and the toast was burned. Then the staff started cleaning all around us, including the lighting fixtures while the ceiling fans were moving. So we had dirt flying around while we were eating. We cut our losses and left. Quite disappointing for a place I could always count on being at least good to very good.

We had an awesome waitress and the food was good BUT I really wish they would put a gluten free bun, bread, English muffin or something on the menu. All of their delicious food centers around eggs and gluten containing foods and I can't eat either. Too early for a baked potato so my meal was expensive and not very filling. I ate what I could and left the rest. Iove the photos and the fireplace. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting.

Food was great. Home style cooking. Elaine our server was the only one serving that night, full house, she must of had 12 tables going at once. She didn't walk she ran from task to task. Food was hot served by a very friendly and talented server. The Hostess also was working hard, making sure glasses were always full, tables never left dirty and both had smiles while they worked their butts off. Food was sooo good there wasn't any doggie bags to take home. Would definitely be back

We are visiting in Portland. We are staying at the Country Inn Delta Park. . Last evening, my husband and I along with my daughter had dinner at Elmer's across the way. We get seated and had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone came to offer us a menu. We wait there another 10 15 minutes before the waitress came by to ask us for drinks. She brings our drinks then disappears. We wait another 1p 15 20 minutes before she shows up. By then we are ready to walk out, but we decide to be patient and wait. We order and got our food in a decent time but the waitress NEVER came back. We wanted more of our beverages but never got any. At one point I asked another waitress if we could have more tea and rootbeer and she said "oh absolutely", but she never came back. Your prices aren't that bad but not cheap, so for the money we spent, I feel we should have gotten better service. So, I don't think we will be coming back or recommending this restaurant to anyone. So disappointed

The wait staff are slow.. waited almost 15 min before I even saw a waitress. Took order and brought wrong soup and never brought my tea. Finally the mgr stopped by and he fixed everything.. will not go back...

Was nearby so visited on a whim. We had the french toast and blueberry pancakes which was all pretty good. The bacon was cooked perfectly (that sweet spot between firm and limp) and wasn't that thin crumbly stuff you get in some places. Portions were great, service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere laid back - prices were reasonable too. I'd go back for another sleepy brunch when I'm in the area so I can nibble my first German pancake!

This Elmer's restaurant is a perfect place to meet someone before and/or after going to the P I R or Expo Center for an event or a great halfway point to meet between Portland and Vancouver. Food is ALWAYS fabulous, service is great and friendly, the dining room and restrooms are clean and inviting. A Portland area local chain that is truly one of my favorites.

I visited Elmer's on the morning of Christmas eve. Although the restaurant was packed, the service was still prompt. I appreciated that my server never let my coffee mug go empty and was very courteous. The food was slow to get to the table, but not excessively slow. I think it was since the place was incredibly busy. My meal was tasty but nothing special. Elmer's is a good choice for a hearty breakfast, especially if you are heading north on I-5 to visit Washington on a road trip.

Food was great. But our server wasn't. Usually when we go here we have a great experience. This time, in an empty restaurant, we waited about 40 minutes for our food. A group of six who arrived after us, we're fed first. And we had to ask for our server and waited another 15 mins and never received our ticket. But the male manager is excellent, food great.

On Sunday the 29th of September, 27 members from Portland Covenant Church had lunch at Elmers. Just wanted to say that it was an awesome visit. Our waitress, Kelly was great. No mistakes, food was great and we were all able to eat at the same time!!! Just think that many people and she got everything done without any problems. And we were a little loud and not once did she get flustered. Way to go Kelly.

1st time here and it's a very cute and cozy place. It's like a better Dennys or IHOP, more of a home feel. They were pretty busy but the service was still decent and the staff is overall friendly. I "added the works" to my hashbrowns which I've never seen before. They put bacon, cheese, green onions and sour cream in them so it tastes like a baked potato basically. Mixed with my omelette...

Great spot for inexpensive weekend brunch when you don't want to spend half your Saturday waiting in line. Always busy for weekend breakfast, but there's rarely much of a wait. Friendly staff. Huge portions. All at a reasonable price.

We have visited here a couple times. The restaurant staff are pleasant and the facility is clean. Service is prompt and our coffee cups never ran dry. The meal was hot and quite good. I was disappointed that there isn't more "lighter fare" options available. Just about everything on the menu is more than a day's worth of food for a woman in calorie content.

Elmers is our go-to breakfast place. Husband has the German pancake, eggs, and sausage. I have the Looking for the Sun omelette, hash browns, and biscuit. Consistently good quality and generous. I can't ever eat it all. It's generally fairly busy there, the service is friendly and attentive. Always a good choice!

Elmer's is a great place to visit for brunch because you can get a legitimately Large Orange Juice! The eggs benedict is the cat's meow, However if you like biscuits and gravy don't forget to get a double dose... Gravy on the side makes for a great breakfast dip!

The food used to be really good here when Mr. Elmer was still alive. Many things are still good, but the prices are a little high for what you get. My two biggest complaints are that they cube the ham in too big of chunks for their omelettes and they use what tastes like dehydrated potatoes for their hash browns.

My visits and food choices have fortunately been good up until this last time I went here. Unfortunately on my last visit, I brought my parents for dinner- where my mother ordered a burger and fries from the menu. She hardly ate any of the burger because she said it didn't taste right. We didn't know the week long food poisoning that she experienced was free with this dish. I doubt she (or the family and friends) will try dining here anytime soon.

I eat here a few times a month. The food is great, and service is prompt. I recommend the chain. My only beef is the server who, as I was talking my kiddo out of a breakfast milkshake and into milk or juice, suggested hot cocoa, instead... This has happened twice, now. Not helpful!

I was informed that my backpack wasn't allowed in the bar, even though I had been there several times before, always with a backpack. I wasn't allowed to store it behind the bar, so I asked what was I supposed to do with it? Because I take public transportation I have nowhere outside to leave my backpack. I was told to leave anyway, maybe because I wasn't drinking, just playing Oregon Video Poker.

Love going here! I come in often to put a few bucks in the poker machines to just relax a min after work & to avoid rush hour traffic. The bartenders are amazing with the exception of one, the younger girl. She's rude for sure. Treated me like a second class citizen. But otherwise it's a good place to go. Had a really weird experience but not by any fault of the staff. The staff was lovely and kind. I had a wonderful breakfast. As I returned to my table after using the restroom however I found the restaurant in a bit of a state of shock. I went to where my grandma and I had been sitting to find out a homeless guy, who had been in and out of the restaurant 3 times prior, had shattered a window. Crazy end to a wonderful meal. I really hope that the window is fixed and everyone is okay.
