REVIEWS OF Clyde Common IN Oregon

Brianna Bromell

The cooks and chef along with the bartender were awe-inspiring. The fried cauliflower and shrimp avocado toast was absolutely ridiculous, well worth the three hour drive from Seattle. It made me question what I had eaten for the last 6 months. The waiters and waitresses we're also very wonderful. 5/5 would recommend

Natalya Klimova

Cool dinner spot to check out during the weekend. Unique menu with outdoor and indoor seating. Parking available on surrounding streets

Jennifer Haliewicz

The place was excellent - the food was spot on and you could actually see it being cooked. The long tables are great for large groups or just meeting whoever happens to be sitting next to you. Can't wait to go back.

Karen Pauley

Yummy happy hour food and drinks!

Note 9

Great experience and staff while visiting Portland!

Matt Clack

Every time I visit Portland I come here. I love the interior and the proximity to the Ace Hotel. We usually enjoy small bites like the gourmet popcorn and drinks. I had the horchata, tequila cocktail and loved it.

Greg Taylor

The food was very good, but it was incredible noisy. Throughout the entire evening I could barely hear the person sitting across the table from me and could only rarely hear the person sitting next to them.

Adam Harden

It's worth a visit just for their Degobah System cocktail.

Ed T

One of the better happy hour finds in Portland. Located next to the ace hotel, very cool, hip area. The restaurant is very much Portland chic. Basic menu which is awesome. I hate restaurants with a billion different items to choose from but nothing actually good. Go for the burgers. Grilled and so flavourful. The cocktails are snappy to the point where you think the bartender was drunk while making the them! Generous alcohol portions! Great find!

kenny strand

Great food, drinks, and service.

Michael Rossi

Great place with a nice menu and good service.

Karta Owens

Food was very good with lots of variety. Service was fine. Good for larger groups.

Michael Ernsting

Lived up to the expectations I had and the PDX reputation.

Came here for happy hour on a Sunday late afternoon. It wasn’t busy and we sat in the bar. The happy hour is really reasonable with options ranging for meat eaters to vegans. The portions are pretty big too! Saw a plate of popcorn and it looked really good! What we ordered was the Brussel sprouts and fries. The fries were served on a large plate with a generous amount and came with ketchup. The Brussel sprouts were my favorite because the avocado sauce drizzled on top. Really good! We ordered for drinks their drink special which was a punch. It was good and tasty. You couldn’t taste the alcohol which is true to a punch. The check was around 12-14 split between 2 people including tip. Service was good and attentive.

scot mortimer

Old fashioned was too spendy for it's small size. Staff was condescending and kind of rude. Solid cheese plate.

sarah lowry

Menu priced cocktails at 9.00, bill charged 10.00. Food was okay, but not worth the cost.

holly waud

This is a neat place but last night we got really snotty staff. I am not sure why, but the hostess and the large blond-ish bartender were really rude. I would go so far as to say douche bag-esque. Food and drinks are good, but if you are paying a premium for them why go somewhere where they show obvious disdain to serve you? When asking the second bartender, while closing out our tab, why it was so hard to get good service from them he shrugged and said 'I don't know'.

Brandon Holybee

Bar here is really great, always a unique (and good) choice for the punch of the day and the cocktails are fantastic.

Eric Woelker

I really like the food and atmosphere here. This is usually my recommendation for a place to go for anyone visiting town (and then to stop in Pepe le Moko around the corner for drinks after).

Ned K

Great drinks and service

Jason Swartz

Everything it's cracked up to be.

Daniel McWhirter

Came for the cocktails and was not disappointed! Heather was a great bartender. Ordered some happy hour food at the bar and was very good as well.

Claire Harrison

Great food, great drinks, stellar staff!

Andrea Dabideen

The drinks, as per usual, were amazing! The food was phenomenal! However, the service was god awful. I was embarrassed that I suggested my boyfriend and I go on a date here. Sitting at the bar is the best- I recommend little interaction with the waitstaff.

Sachin Tharakan

Pan seared Halibut is to die for and their concoction of cocktails is delicious. Must go. You will not be disappointed.

陳柏瑄

Great!

Troy Ferrell

Really great place for happy hour. Drinks were just right and great to order some of the HH food to share across the table. I would recommend the Brussels sprouts as my favorite. Also cool photo booth next door in the adjacent hotel!

Christopher Simmons

Great drinks, decent experience. Not quite as friendly as I might hope for, but if you can get a spot at the bar with a side of fries, you won’t be disappointed.

The Swift Sloth

Pretty amazing happy hour. The prices aren't too bad and I feel like you get more than what you pay for. I consistently get the $5 burbon renewal cocktail, the popcorn, and something seasonal and usually don't pay more than $20. I've tried re-creating the popcorn at home without much success. Not sure how they do it. I've been here for dinner several times and you'll spend close to $150 for 2 people but I've had some of the best dishes there. The seasonal halibut dish I had was phenomenal and is still one of my top dishes in Portland. There is also the living room theater next door. So it's nice to catch the happy hour on Tuesday and get a $5 movie next door for a nice date that isn't too expensive.

Nicole LeCompte

Arrived an hour early to check out the bar area, they have Gruner Veltliner by the glass, which is my favorite! The bartenders were professional and prompt. Ryan R was our server and he did a great job! The atmosphere is chill, although the seating is a bit funky. We started with the tuna with heirloom tomatoes, which was fresh and the tomatoes sweet. the main course of halibut was equally delicious, cooked to perfection and served with beets. We finished off with some locally made macaroons, which Ryan was kind enough to bring me only the ones I wasn't allergic to (thanks, Ryan R, I appreciate you). A stellar experience, a chef in Seattle recommend this establishment and I'm so glad I chose it.

Teresa

Quickly seated for late brunch on a Saturday. Big open space, great for groups. Started with pimento cheese sauce then the eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. Highly recommend and would return for good food and great service.

Valeria V

Their happy hour is pretty good and good size servings, drinks are good and different from the ones you normally find at a happy hour.

Lindsay Black

Solid spot downtown. They have mastered that American New feel of a space. Happy Hour has some great eats, I like the brussel sprouts. I feel like I've been to the exact same place in LA, SF, Seattle, or New York...just that place you go for happy hour as a young pro in your late 20s early 30s kinda spot.

Kristina Kern

I love Clyde Common. They make worthy drinks and even more worthy food. The menu changes, so make it a point to visit often to find your new favorite. I had their mushroom, squab pot pie. I still think of it today. Flavorful mushrooms and squab gifted under a buttery crust. And how can I forget that squab claw sticking out of the pie. The claw was alarming and disarming at the same time. Simply put: go here!

Michael Arellano

Had a great time when I went. Food and drinks were on point. Really enjoyed the brussel sprouts! Would consider visiting again.

Mark Johansen

Really wasn't impressed by the food. This place has enjoyed it's days in the sun, and their quality standards have gone down. I went because I was recommended to dry a burger. The bread was dry, the meat was fine, there wasn't much toppings, it was underwhelming. We ordered a few dishes and the fried pork roll and the salad was nice. My wife and I had a $40 happy hour check and we both left dissatisfied and hungry(and we aren't big eaters either.).

Korey Stafford

An example of good ambiance, decent plating, above average cocktails, but unimpressive food.

Larry arnold

Great food, nice place.

Ken Murray

Happy hour plates small and pretentious.

Robert Cheney

Good food and friendly service.

John Lian

The food is good, although definitely overpriced. The building and atmosphere though left something to be desired. The decor was very basic and feels like an old school house. Service was very average. The wait people didn't seem very excited to be there or to host us.

Nicole Rappaport

I've only been here twice, but both times the food and service were impeccable. Also both times my friends and I ordered the feast. Definitely enough food to feed 4 people. The way the flavors on the plate all complement each other was like an art. Will definitely return for a third time and then some.

Austin M

Go for the food and cocktails. Great menu for both.

Greg Cowan

Had a nice late after drinks appetizer nightcap. They had smelt on the menu, Northwest treat. Really good. We had a party of eight but we got in easily cuz it was later in the evening. Good time had by all. A few had boulevardiers, kind of like a negroni but with rye. Really good. The bartending is every bit as good as the food. Can get crowded at the dinner hour but what good place isn't?

Katie Abbott

Nice atmosphere. Great food and drinks!

Will Wilkinson

Great service, good happy hour options and an excellent bourbon selection.

Trevor Dyck

Halibut was AMAZING. Trout was good but not like the halibut. Good service, nice ambiance!

Andrea DeTemple

We went for happy hour and it was fantastic! Generous serving sizes, lots to choose from, and Nice environment. I also had a fantastic hot toddy that was one of the best I've ever had (not on the happy hour menu)! We will definitely be back for dinner.

Alicia Hudson

If I could rate this place higher, I would. Our group got the popcorn (a MUST), a couple of other apps and the ribs. 5 people and it fed us all with a little to take home. Best ribs I have ever had. The atmosphere is nice, though it's dark and not quiet. I will be going back again.

David Dixon

This place had delicious food and a fun atmosphere. We went here while we waited to see a movie. We had such a wonderful time enjoying the company and meal that we ended up missing the movie! Dinners are fantastic, but also go here for lunch. It isn't that expensive and the food is just as good.

Carolyn Lewis

The hostess refused to give us a decent table sitting us in the worst seats by the kitchen with a view to the garbage can. Seriously - still looking at the nice table still open at 9:00 p.m. at night. Woo hoo. This restaurant is over rated and self pretentious. Get out of Portlandia people.

cale garrett

Food: Menu is interesting, but is imbalanced. Rich, overly saucy items are not counter-balanced with lighter cleaner items. Seems like the food would work best as happy hour accompaniments and drinking snacks. Booze: Great cocktails, some interesting wines Service: Waited 25 min for first drinks. Staff seemed disinterested and not friendly. Have had fine service on other occasions. Bar tenders are top notch.

Dmitry Vaysberg

Great bar, great food, must try.

Shaun Davidson

I’ve been coming here for years with my wife. Cocktails are great, food is great, happy hour is very reasonable. And my wife & I agree the Hygge factor is high :)

Joel Amundson

Sometimes amazing food, but often too salty (and this is coming from someone who loves salt), and the noise level is worse than typical for a busy restaurant. If they installed some creative acoustic panels and brought the saltiness down to where you could taste/appreciate the food better, would change to 5 stars.

Maria

Great place! Love food

Hannah Morrison

Delicious food and drink and happy hour prices are very reasonable. Even if the tables are full you can usually find a few chairs at the bar!

Brian Bordagaray

Great bloody Mary's and good brunch. I would recommend. Portions could be bigger but still solid food.

Mr. Gabriel

Holy wow. The braised goat knocked my socks off. I took my family out here to eat and they all left with a full belly and a smile. I still think about how great that goat was. Some of the people with us eat vegan and the restaurant was helpful in that area. I would highly recommend getting a starter, entree, and dessert. This way you get the full experience. There was 2 drawbacks: it was really loud when I was there and the lighting isn't that great. I had to read the menu to my mom. Overall: great food and drink for good prices.

Scott Pierce

Just had a drink. It was a nice place to get out of the rain.

Collin Stoll

Underwhelmed and over priced. Went to Clyde Common with a group of 6+ and ordered about 8 dishes to share. we had to order 3 more because there was not enough food and we are not large eaters. Very noisy hard to hear each other unless next to the person and the place did not look busy. Overall the food was good. Disappointments included the lamb 3 ways which had sweet breads that where under-seasoned and over-cooked (chewy like rubber) and the salmon which was cooked well but fishy. Mackerel was appropriately fishy but accompanying vegetables were under-seasoned and overwhelmed. Service was OK, ordered a gin and tonic and then was asked a few minutes later if I wanted the house made tonic rather than the "commercial" tonic. I said, "yes" then waited for 20 minutes. After flagging down the waiter was told by they were out of the tonic so they did not serve it. needless to say I finally got my drink towards the end of the meal. Final bill included a "wellness charge" of 3% which the waiter said was a tax for Obama Care making their employer pay for their health insurance. I guess in an alternate Fox news based reality you could consider it a "tax" but in reality it is a surcharge and should be included in the cost of the food although then diners might think they are paying a high premium for good rather than great food and service.

Jennifer Torrijos

Great experience all around. I love the cocktails, dishes, and dessert.

Caleb White

Really great! Super delicious goat cheese board.

Adam Goodrich

Very cool hipster bar/restaurant. we mostly just had drinks, which were inventive and fun and tasty. We will probably come back and try the food next time we are in town.

Alicia Mold

Ate here the other night for some late night, last min food. Service was great, ambience was lovely, drinks were tasty. Loved the late night happy hour menu. All the food we god was stunning, I loved the baccala (salt cod) fritters. The shrimp toast was delicious. The colours were vibrant, plating was classic and pleasing. We had the togarashi fried chicken and it was quite salty - we spoke up to our server and she brought us a new one. The second one came and was also salty. As a chef I know mistakes happen - possibly the salt was added twice to the chicken brine. They took the chicken off the bill and apologized politely. The way they dealt with the situation is what will make me return to their establishment. All in all I loved the food, had a great evening.

Randi S

I was surprised to find that my favourite place I ate in Portland was the restaurant in my hotel! The food was fresh and flavourful. Last summer and early fall produce (the most magical time for vegetables). The wine recommendation was on point. Service was friendly and fun. And the Spanish coffees?

Toni Holm

Excellent always changing menu of good meals. Try the homemade ginger "beer". Loud!

Joshua Enders

I've been here twice in the last month. I sat at the communal table near the entrance during the first visit, then upstairs the second. Both times, the food was very good. The menu is creative, and the wine list is full of winners. Very long wrap around bar... I've yet to find a spot which exemplifies its popularity. I really like this place.

Sascha Renjifo

The restaurant is between 3/4 stars The bar is 5 stars- great place to go for drinks with a few friends or on a date

Brandon Vernon

The ever changing seasonal menu never fails to disappoint. However, the collective cacaphonous din of the gabbing dinner patrons during peak dining hours force one to lean across the table to hear the witty banter of your dinner companion.

Gabriel Romero

Spicy popcorn, pickled eggs, smoked mussels and perfectly mixed cocktails? Best happy hour in town! Try enjoying a cocktail here and then going to your next destination... you will be disappointed... and then go back to Clyde Commons! Wait staff rocks, excellent location.

Jessica Hubacher

Drink their entire happy hour menu and order food. Order full priced shots and invite friends. Great cocktails, food, service and even bar patrons. I never miss stopping here when visiting, it's a must for me. I never want their popcorn but then I can't stop eating it. They also make my favorite drink in the world that was once on a happy hour menu four years ago and they can still make it.

C Starks

Amazing cocktails with popcorn and a wonderful goat cheese salad followed by a very dissapointing pork cheek. My dinner partner and I both ordered it. The fat and collagen were not cooked down. It was not the tender flavorful entree we had expected,as both of us had to spit out fatty, tough, grisel filled bites. She sent hers back, I opted not to because the response to concerns was framed that it was our palate issue. We are both southern, our pork palates are superior to most so maybe it was a palate issue, but, unfortunately this is an assumption in a lot of downtown pdx restaurants these days. Would come back for cocktails..but somewhere else for dinner.

Kathleen Anson

Fantastic selection of bourbons - from the everyday to the obscure. A lively atmosphere with a mix of cool people and the "see-and-be-seen" crowd and a few tourists via the Ace Hotel. Have only tried bar snacks but they were great - for dining there are common tables downstairs and more intimate tables up. Be sure to try one of their house-barrel-aged cocktails and the popcorn! Happy hour is the time to come for value.

Edith Spencer

Excellent cocktails and wine/beers selection; very good dinners and bar snacks.

Spencer Witte

Great food and atmosphere, service was also good.

Inhale Exhale

Always a favorite. Well thought out plates. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. 10 or 11 years and still knocking it out of the ballpark. Thanks Clyde Commons !

Liz Fahy Scott

Excellent service and absolutely transcendent drinks. Just go. Seriously.

Joey Dussel

Great atmosphere and excellent food!

JP Sugarbroad

All in all a pleasant experience. The food is innovative and tasty, and the service is attentive and unfailingly polite. The only flaw is the sound level - between the hard surfaces and the music one can hardly hear one's companions.

CARRIE b

I had the lamb, it was great, the trout was great and the deserts are really good!!

luis buenaventura

Came over for HH, not a bad spot for some mid afternoon drinking

Patrick Dugan

Stopped in here at the recommendation of my friend Chris and I wasn't disappointed. Happy hour special was a bit sparse, but my goodness if it wasn't great. Good selection of beers on tap and a nice atmosphere as well.

Zack Sosebee

Did not eat there. Tried to so I could taste some limited high end bourbon advertised on the website. Some was missing. Price printed online was $30 but bartender said "sorry it's $80 now." I showed him the web ad and they would not honor. Bad business call from my perspective. Especially with a 250% price increase

Hillary Brainerd

We came here for dinner on a Monday, during our first time in Portland. The food was exceptional, the service was great as well (she was very helpful and attentive, but gave us nice space for a date night), and the cocktails were superb. It was great to see how everyone worked together; the kitchen was open so we could see how everyone was there to run food and drinks, and help guests in general.

Douglas Crocker

Wonderful menu and food. I have never had a bad dish.

Anand Kalelkar

Everything was good, but nothing was special. Nice place for a late drink.

Todd F

They have a great selection of cocktails and the chocolate bomb desert was amazing. I could have eaten two. Their popcorn is also great. A bit pricey for a bowl of popped corn kernels, but great flavor. I had the milanese steak tonight. It was not bad, but needed a touch salt and some bigger sides. Don't get me wrong, I love a plate full of steak, but I would like a bit of veg or starches with it. I would very highly recommend this place as a happy hour spot though. Don't order a White Russian. It's very heavy on the vodka and totally missed the proper ratio of Kahlúa, vodka and cream. Their bartenders are usually pretty good, so this drink was a real disappointment. I know the vodka is much cheaper than the Kahlúa, but please don't skip... Try for about 1/3 each.

fraser graham

We went for a family dinner. Two of us ordered venison. When it came we were served what was like beef pot roast on the bone. When I questioned our waitperson she acted like I was a liar and fool for questioning their service. She offered us no other option! When she brought our bill, she added a service charge anticipating our displeasure assuming I would likely not tip. I questioned it and she removed the service charge. No accommodation was suggested or offered. DO NOT eat at this restaurant no matter what it may rate and by the way, I did give her a cash tip for her service now regretting it!

Chris L

I liked my dining experience at this restaurant. But there were a few things that I didn't enjoy. One thing that disappointed me was they did not have the venison on the menu when I went, and I was looking forward to trying it. I also was underwhelmed by the cheese and charcuterie board. All in all though it was a good meal with good cocktails, I recommend the southbound Suarez.

Andrea O'C

Great eggs Benedict and mimosas!

John Naples

Great cocktails!

tim gogl

Went for happy hour. Service was fantastic. Food was amazing. Prices were shockingly terriffic.

Sean Stewart

Fun brunch location with a warm atmosphere. The food was great. The eggs benedict were very delicious. We also had the grilled salad that was very good. The service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely return again.

Jennifer Byrn

Absolutely delicious. Food is creative and fresh

Zachary Colombo

Good happy hour deals, but the food genuinely wasn’t good. The cauliflower was smothered in a heavy sauce to the point that we couldn’t eat it (and we love sauce)! The ribs were alright, but two ribs for $7 seemed like kind of a rip off. Staff was helpful and punch was tasty. Worth checking out if you’re only going for drinks.

Howard Sewell

The interior may be spare and a little cold, but the food, classic cocktails, and impeccable service make for a first-rate night out. Don't miss: 1) the barrel-aged negroni (invented here and famous for a reason), and 2) the house green salad (huge, and possibly one of the best I've had anywhere.) We'll be back.

Thomas Jung

Some of the best cocktails in town (at the time of the writing) and the food has been getting been better and better over the years. Highly recommended for your downtown evening out.

Matthias Winkler

Awesome place in Portland with lovely cocktails. I had a bourbon one, which was soo tasty. They have happy hour. Furthermore we had a nice French crudités veggie dish as a snack besides the cocktails. Gorgeous!

sandun sulakshana

Drinks are not that great in the sense cocktails are more juicey than alcoholic. However their lamb and beef main course are top notch. Meat is seasoned really well and melting inside the mouth. Delicious!!!!

Nicole Kennedy

I was very disappointed by this experience. One of my friends had been before and said the food was great. The time I went the food was okay especially for the price. The food was low on salt which made it lack flavor and their was no salt on the table to remedy the situation. Also the portions were smaller than expected and the food took a long time to get out to the table. It was nice that they left the water carafe on the table but it would have been better if the waitress had kept it full. We had to ask multiple times for a full one. The only part of the meal that really stood out to me was the carrot cake with cinnamon ice cream. It was delicious but a little small. Also, you can make a flour-less chocolate cake without putting so much gelatin in it that you could bounce a quarter off of it.

Mary Raphael George

Classy, but bit pretentious. We enjoyed it but was not overly wowed. It is close to the Crystal Ballroom so we opted to check it out. I might try it again. I went there with my son. Might be a better place to go with friends.

arun pradhan

awesome food n drink..fifth quadrant is must try drink there

Robert Kelsheimer

Great food, good staff, and an unreadable menu (font size)

Aub Driver

Killer craft cocktail menu and best bartenders in PDX.

Ryan Westby

Some of the best cocktails in town.

Casey Howard

I came here as part of a large group which kept growing. We had gathered to celebrate the life of a friend who had recently passed. Our server and the supporting staff were all so accommodating and respectful of the situation. The food and drinks were outstanding and we all hope to return under different circumstances. Thank you so much for turning a difficult situation into such a positive experience.

Heather Seabre

Yummy food, great wine list. Attentive service. Laid back but still a little fancy.

Peter Jahn

High quality food in great presentation, friendly service and a modern interior. One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner, especially with a small group of friends. Check out their weekend brunch, it's worth it :)

David W. Hubenak

Clyde Common, two-time James Beard finalist for Best Bar Program, is one of better bar concepts in the Pacific Northwest. An impressive whisky selection coupled with an assortment of creative cocktails mKe this a can’t miss spot for locals and visitors alike. The food offerings are also solid both during happy hour (3pm-6pm and 10pm-Close) and on the regular menu. The fried padrón peppers and Clyde burger are both very tasty options. Service is consistently efficient and friendly, which isn’t always a sure thing in PDX. The only drawback is that the bar is typically packed during peak hours, yet I guess that really isn’t a bad thing! Whether you’re looking for a dinner spot that offers excellent adult beverages or simply looking for a late night drink, you can never go wrong with Clyde Common. A-/A

Susan Danahy

Great service ... average HH food.

Matthew jkD

Good food. The feasts are large dishes great for a free people. The appetizers and smaller plates are great to share. Will definitely head back there again.

Simone Styr

Great food and even better cocktails. The only minus was the very, very greasy main course (which since it was poached fish seemed a little out of place)

Andrew Rhodes

Cornmeal-battered sweetbreads with sweet 'n' sour kale. Mind-blowing charcuterie. Lamb steak and sausage so good it pops in your mouth yielding all the meaty goodness at once. And top it off with chocolate pecan pie, vanilla bean ice cream, and citrus confit. Dynamite, never-miss-a-beat service on the day after Valentine's Day. Come hungry, leave happy.

Lonny Knabe

No reason to go here. Average drinks, grumpy staff.

Jonathan Krosschell

I got fried grits and they were really good.

Tmomo

Nice place for drinks and food.

Mara C

We came here for happy hour because we heard good reviews about this place. I was disappointed because we felt very racially profiled here. Our servers were stand off ish and yet you could see them talking to other customers who were Caucasian... the food was okay but expensive for what it was. Even when we didn't tip they didn't even ask us why or if they could have improved our experience. They just obviously wanted us out of there. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Clay Garlow

Exceptional. Restaurants like this always put me at a loss for words. The passion, energy, and dedication it requires of the staff at all levels to execute a performance like I enjoyed tonight is a beautiful symphony to watch and eat. The open kitchen concept of this restaurant keeps the staff honest and the food reflects that while highlighting their creativity through simplicity and technique. For anyone in the Portland area seeking a refined meal I would highly encourage you to give Clyde Common a try, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you again to all members of the staff. Picture included is the Chocolate Bombe. It was truly the bomb!!!

Nan B

Nice restaurant; excellent service; the food was very good however I was in a party of 4 and my dish was the worst of the bunch; I ordered the Grilled Coho Salmon, Braised Chicories, Bone Marrow Butter...not very good tasting. I did have a taste of the braised goat, curried winter squash, wild rice, smoked cayenne purée - Delicious!

Jordan H

The food was delicious. The price was not. Barely any food on my plate, and it was so not worth it. Nice urban atmosphere and bar selection, doesn't quite make up for going home hungry at the end of the night.

Travis Vance

I had a similar experience to Fraser’s with the deer venison. It came recommended but when it landed at the bar it was dry and bland

Luke Overdevest

Amazing drinks. Perfectly balanced cocktails

Tristan Worth

Our waitress was nice and on top of it. The drinks were good but overpriced and small. I had the lamb neck with brussel sprouts There was so much sauce I couldn't taste much else. My wife had the trout. It was mediocre. Serving sizes were really small.

Jeffrey Bell

Favorite bar in Portland, hands down. Guy that runs the bar has the same name as me, so that’s cool. Food, drinks, vibe, location are all great! Try the Whiskey Sour, best I’ve ever had.

Michael DelGaudio

Good food, friendly staff and great cocktails. What else do you need? Go, today.

Benjamin Foster

Only stopped in for an after dinner cocktail, so to be fair I cannot speak to the food. Cocktails were ok, whiskey list looked intriguing. Service was disinterested and not particularly friendly.

Emily H.

As always this place is fantastic. The food is great. The cocktails are great. The bartenders (and all of the staff) are friendly and professional. Love to come here and sit at the bar. It's such a nice open space to come and sit in the afternoon and enjoy their happy hour.

Sid Burgess

Visited twice and frankly, haven't had a bad experience, but was hoping for something slightly more elevated. It's just easy these days to see a place like this and hope to be completely wowed. I had a solid, positive experience. Staff was friendly of course. On my second visit I ordered a Highland Park (neat) and the scallops. I have a rule, when I see scallops on the menu, I order them. :) They were quite good but not as much of a fan of scallops and grits but thought I'd give this version a try. Still not my preference. It made the dish feel more pedestrian, as the grits weren't enhanced in any way. The bar looks the most inviting and it seemed like a popular place, which is always a pretty good indication of how the things taste and work that you can't try in just two visits. In short, I'll be back and look forward to trying other dishes. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

Syndi McIver

Great service, good food fun delicious cocktails

Duane Hoffinger

Great spot. Good looking venue for sure.

A Shirley

I had my brithday brunch here today. The waitress wasn't very friendly and she charged us incorrectly for drinks. They don't tell you this but they will only split a check 3 ways and they won't actually split it - they give you a single bill and will take up to 3 cards. So after the meal we had to spend 5 minutes doing math splitting the check. The order was placed incorrectly the first time and so my friend got her meal later than everyone else. I did calmly speak with the manager and while she did listen to my complaints - she didn't really meet me anywhere. At the end of the day I spent $100 for 3 people and it was easily the worst brunch I've had in Portland. I think there are way better places in Portland to spend your money. This was such a bummer. :( Sincerely - birthday bummer

Corey Anson

High quality food and a great selection of bourbon, from close and far. The atmosphere is noisy and vibrant, the food small and tasty. The bar tenders know their selection and can offer help if you don't know which to choose. Reservations recommended.

Matthew Noyes

Come here for good food drinks and a especially for the atmosphere, it's always hopping, a great place to meet friends and party. Family style shared tables on the ground floor are fun for groups. The small plates are pretty good too.

Excellent cocktails to tide you over while you wait for a table. I always love when they can get me at a table upstarts so I can watch the tables below and the kitchen. The food is always delicious. Some of the best fries in town.

Cocktails are thirst quenching and creative! Happy hour here is the bomb! Small plates that change with the season. The only main stay is their juicy burger! Feasts are seasonal but I wasn't wowed with the ribs.

Great cocktails and food menu. Naturally it can get a bit busy on the weekends, so be ready to wait.

Did not have a good meal. Salad drenched in sickly sweet dressing & very plain trout. No flavor no subtlety. Service & cocktails very good. Atmosphere average.
