This Restaurant is included in the category of Brewpub.
Friday night, great place to meet with my cycling buddies. Outside we stayed warm from the heaters.
Fast service and good food. I only wish their beer was above average. It's on par with the Widmers of the world sadly. The space is nice though.
Woman named Eva was rude. I had 2 senior adults and 2 kids, and as soon as I asked for a wall side table she said “well, I already moved a table for you right there” and when I asked if I could move, she was upset. She dropped the utensils on our table in bad manner and refused to eye contact. The food was amazing, rest of the people were amazing. Just that woman named Eva ruined the finale of my Portland trip.
Beer is good. Food is basic, though nachos a good value.
The beer was great and the food was just as good
Had great food, was very busy so we waited a bit longer than expected to order.
Great beer, interested and delicious menu, with non-alcoholic options like a root beer float. Awesome, well designed space that suits a few people or a larger group. Their beer is among some of my favorite in Portland and they specialize in IPAs. One of my favorite places to visit in NW.
Great food. Cool location
Excellent brewery! The food is awesome, especially the albacore spinach salad. The staff is friendly and helpful. And of course many great beers on tap.
Popular, well-regarded spot in the busy new Slabtown area of NW. Great beers in a variety of styles. Good food choices show popular appeal. Attentive service keeps things moving. Outdoor area has partial cover for summer fun, but can be too warm on summer PMs. Good spot for a date or a group, with a modern industrial design vibe.
Great beer!! Absolutely killer nachos!!
Good brewery, great for large groups, watching games, or just grabbing a drink.
Great ber and beer selection. The menu items are huge and tasty
Definitely no rooftop patio at this location. If they would update their description accurately I would consider changing my review.
Awesome place to sit down outside on the shades patio with our dog and have a beer with friends. Have an amazing draft selection, our server was extremely personable and even offered to take our dogs "order" and brought him water! Love these guys!
The scene was really fun. They had a two DJs. One upstairs (silence disco) and one downstairs. Large patio. My mixed drink was expensive for a not strong, small plastic cup of strawberry lemonade, $10! A not tasty chunky Jell-O shot was $4. Tasted like lemon cleaner.
Had the happy hour cheeseburger and street tacos. Both ok. The Oatmaster was delightful!
Nice scenery. Good beer selection. Moderate service. Loud. Must be self sufficient most times to get anything done as you have to go up and order instead of them coming to you
Very nice bartender.. thank you
Great selection of beer and food. Easily one of my favorite breweries in Portland.
Great food and beer. We are in a line waiting still....the guy seating really isn't into doing his job and does wanna help seat 10 people. He keeps telling us to go post up up top. Very well could of been a 5 stare review but the guy seating lost 3 stars. It's nice the dogs can hang outside if. We will probably pick somewhere else for our group meetings.
Pretty cool bar with some good brews. The food was excellent and priced fairly. Only reason for 4 stars is the service. Felt like the bartender wanted to do anything besides serve me. Maybe its because was clearly from out of town wearing my AZ cardinals hat, not sure.
Service was ok - the food was on a whole other level of bad. Had to send out chicken wings back because they were still underdone.
Friendly service with a cool vibe. I tried the hazy (basic, I know...
Service was excellent and food was mediocore. Parmesan natchos... and drumettes more chewy then a dehydrated turkey leg at disneyworld. (We left half our food) Paying 4X the price for some bottled beer while leaving left me with a bad taste. Its obvious people go for the atmosphere and drinks while cuisine needs to be replaced with food trucks on an emergency call.
I arrived with my dog and asked if they could get me a beer while I waited outside. They couldn't even respond to that request.
The food was very good, you can even get a few cocktails. I thought the beers that were good were very good, the other beers were just so so.
Very lively brewery in one of my favorite areas in Portland. Good beer and food, and excellent service. Outdoor seating area is nice as well as the upstairs area (upstairs 21+).
Good beers but closed a little early (10 pm).
Awesome beer, friendly service, amazing building and the LARGEST pretzel I've ever seen!
This is one of my fave places and fave beers... I know you guys aren’t hurting for money by any means. You should ENCOURAGE your beer pouring team to please be open to sharing tasters. I already had bought lunch and a beer, I was considering purchasing some bottles from downstairs when the bartender started a sales pitch about a flight. I am here all the time and support via T-shirt’s, pint glasses, purchases in house as well as stores. I’ve shown many out of state people your product and they’ve purchased. Please try and keep it a bit more personal and allow your customers to try different beers before committing to a purchase. It’s part of the brewery culture and fun. I don’t like a salesman when I’m a patron. That sucks. Will be reconsidering location in the future when I get beer and food. If breakside feels like Coors the swag isn’t as cool. Cmon!
Solid Portland Brewery. The beers are amazing and the food is great. Staff always super friendly. Kid friendly, dog friendly. A must check out on your beer tour of PDX
Great beers. Good staff. Met some cool people.
Great new location for one of Portlands finest breweries.
Great food, beer and service. Plenty of seats, not a terrible wait on a Thursday night.
The people are so friendly here. I loved the True Gold Pilsner. We saw the pretzels on every table and knew we had to try one.
My wife loved the nachos, she gives it a 5 just for that. I enjoyed the beers and the service and the to go options
Delicious! Look at this pretzel! Ask for extra cheese!
Really fun place with indoor/outdoor seating. The beer was delicious, food was good and service was great. The jalapeno poppers were the best we've ever had!
Excellent burger! Also appreciated friendly and prompt service, clean and spacious atmosphere, and a very unique selection of brews. Not many people know what Champarrado is, but I do and these have a beer made after it; very cool!
Super hip and crowded. Quite spacious considering second floor seats. Beer is not so bad but not so impressive as well, but the foods were great. The vibe itself makes the place worth a visit. The neighborhood is clean and neat too.
Its my favorite brewery. The beer is great and the ambiance is rad!! Oh and it's 2 blocks from my work so yayyy for me.
Don't know why this place has so many good reviews, or do people just love mediocrity:( Beers were OK, some over the top, one stout was undrinkable, a vanilla coffee flavoured concoction. We left half the beers without wanting to finish them, best is their pilsner, I'd buy that, nothing else. Food was average to below. Regular burger with disgusting potato salad that was all skins, peel your potatoes lazy people! You could only get frozen flavoured fries out of a freezer bag, this is not good. If you take that many shortcuts with your food I can't imagine what you do with your beer. Won't be back.
5 stars for the beer and more importantly the number of dogs/puppies on the patio, specifically Reggie the 10 week old golden retriever that stole everyone’s heart.
Very modern but nice casual atmosphere. Covered patio. Not your average bar menu. Super yummy and mostly healthy options. Great beer! Unique flavors.
A great spot near the industrial side of NW Portland to grab a beer! They have a great selection of brews, as well as offer other alcoholic drinks. They also have a decent food menu selection with tasty, well proportioned options. The patio out front is wonderful to enjoy on sunny evenings. Parking, like all things in this area, is street only and can be a pain.
Great selection of beer, good portions of food! Great vibe.. what more can you ask for!
One of my favorite breweries in the city, lots of good beers. The food was great too.
Not quite as cool as the Breakside location in Dekum - seems to have more of an industrial vibe which is probably appropriate to the location. The beers are just as good of course and the selection seemed to be on par with Dekum as well.
Nice big indoor space with dog friendly patio out front. Good selection of beers plus a full bar. Food is just so-so and slightly overpriced without too many gluten free options.
Very busy, but it's Breakside so that makes sense. They make fantastic beers. I dig the NW location.
Breakside provides top quality beer of a variety of styles and always at a fair price. Well loved locally and growing.
Good beer .. good food .. good service .. Breakside never disappoints.
Outside patio very nice and beer is good. Chicken sandwich I had was not very good mostly breading. The beer alone though is a good reason to come here. The Wanderlust and Aztec are two of my favorites although the Aztec is not always on tap
Food was great, perfect atmosphere, especially the outside seating. Staff was excellent.
I know they have a large selection of beers (not a drinker), so I hit this place typically when looking for a quick bite. Try the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Sauteed Vegetables. Great flavors.
Always crowded, food is OK but the beer is hard to beat.
Amazing beer and buffalo wings! The chicken wrap was decent and the mac & cheese was delicious! Definitely recommend a visit! Specially during summers!
Highly recommended. A fun combination of a great atmosphere, friendly service, excellent beers, and delicious food. We tried samples of several of their beers, and I was impressed by the variety of different styles that were all good, from the sours to the IPAs. I had the fish and chips, which was among the best I've had!
Darn good beer. Service was mediocre (staff seems disgruntled). The food was better than other local breweries eats, so that's a plus. I'd give 5 stars if the service was better and the patio had more space.
Awesome brewery up in Slabtown. Stopped in to grab a few drinks. We got the Slabtown taster and a couple of half pints. The building is very cool, and the staff was friendly.
Good beer, friendly service, plenty of space on a nice corner.
I expected the brewery to be more exciting than it was. We love to buy their bottled beer at the store but I was underwhelmed by the dinner menu and beer sampler. I don't think this is a bad restuarant at all, I just think their are better options in Portland for the price and quality of the food.
I was thoroughly impressed by this place. They really care about putting out quality products and it shows. The food and drinks were fantastic.
Just about every beer and food item I've ordered has been great. Staff is great. Atmosphere is great. I'm only taking 1 star off because I think its a little overpriced.
Love this pub. Great beer great food!!
Awesome place! Came here on a busy Saturday and the food was great and the service was fast. Would definitely recommend.
Definitely one of the best breweries in Portland. It doesn’t have the same funky charm as the original Dekum pub but the modern polish works well. The nachos are great and are a refreshing update on the classic. All the food is good but can be a little pricey. They also had some chicken and waffles on special recently which were awesome, hopefully they keep that on the menu!
They have a Czech lager named Jaromir Lagr. That's reason enough to come here.
Food was awesome! It was plain meat on its own, but the burger sauce they put on balances out the flavor of the meat. They'll even let you order an extra beef patty and chicken breast for dogs. (off menu). Try literally any of the beers, you can order one at the bar while you wait! The burger was too tall for my mouth, and I'm a pretty big guy! I think if you're going to put that much meat on a burger, getting a wider bun and a wider patty is the way to go. I wish there were at least one meal made for dogs on the menu. The fries and service were great! Either way, it was an awesome experience. Good luck finding parking!
Breakside! Big location, nice sunny outdoor seating and an upstairs area for 21+. Food is good, beer is good.
Great service. Weird haircuts.
Cool spot, but the brews are way cheaper at the taproom in Milwaukee.
Love this place! Food is amazing (especially the pretzel)! Cider is great! Service is good and atmosphere is great!
Tasty brews you can't find at the store. Good green salad. Don't order the potato salad though, crunchy raw potatoes are never a good thing!
Beer was quite excellent. The space is really nice. The food is a little pricey, but of good quality.
Breakside good as always. Packed thought. Their gear is fairly reasonably priced which is sweet!
Delicious beers, massive pretzel, and friendly bartenders. I just wish the bartender I had was a little more knowledgeable about their beers. I asked a few questions that I think they should know (awards, characteristics of beer, etc.), but ended up resorting to Google to try and get my questions answered.
Food was slightly above average, beers are obviously fresh and reliably good, but the service has a serious attitude that somehow my families patronage is inconveniencing them. Every time without fail, the service is the same lethargic, impersonal, entitled approach. What’s up with that?
This place lives up to the hype. The beer is amazing. From IPAs to Sours they really nail their beers. The staff is really friendly too, and will definitely help find a beer that works well. The space itself is huge, with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Although we didn’t get any food, the food that came out looked very good, and lots of people were eating, so that’s a good sign.
Great beer and even better food
Food and beer is really good here. I love coming here for a beer n burger. However they never get the order right.
The food is delicious and I can't say enough about the beer if they have India golden ale on tap it's a must try. They do all kinds of fun and funky brews too so the tap list is never boring
don't understand the high rating. Went with a party of 6 yesterday and everybody agreed their meal was mediocre. I myself ordered the "wild" salmon. I can tell fish that's been frozen because its mealy and doesnt flake properly. So, wild frozen salmon? huh and for $20 yeah i expect fresh salmon. Others, the person next to me had the quinoa which was so smothered in pesto, you might as well have been eating grits or hominy. Grilled chicken sandwich was just ok. IPA was well, just an IPA. Nothing special. Sorry, if you are not excellent but price yourself as "excellent" you get 1 star.
A huge place with tons of seating, which is great, because it's an awesome place to bring friends, two legged or four. For a enjoyable time and great beer and food.
Delicious food and great beers. Service was great too!
Great beer great food good place to hang with friends
Bartenders were friendly and my girlfriend really enjoyed the passion fruit sour
I went there the first time with family. I'm pretty sure someone paid for meal, however I ordered a Pepsi and macaroni and cheese. My bill was 15.00 dollars. The server brought back 5.00.Im positive he pocketed 15.00.My sister in law went up to the waiter and told him she was buying my meal..I was right there and heard her.Not a very good feeling about a employee doing that.
Good selection of beers. This place appears to attract a younger crowd but there is enough space to sit in and out. The food was pretty good too. If you are looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks with friends, I can recommend Breakside.
Delicious beer and food. Lots of TVs to watch sports. Great service.
Best brewery food in Portland. Great mix of excellent beer from different styles. Also make some good cocktails.
The Beer is always great ! Fun clean place with friendly staff. They have an outdoor spot for your happy fur friend also. Can be very crowded though and waiting isn’t fun.
Very good food, atmosphere and beer
Their sour beer is absolutely amazing but they only have 1 of those. The rest of their beers are okay and the flights are prearranged. Had the burger which was also okay.
We yesterday evening we ordered 3 entrees yo go, 2 tuna salads and 1 harvest squash bowl. We’ve had these items at the brewery and have always been delighted. Last night was NOT the case, all three entrees were far from acceptable. Both tuna salads were very skimpy; very little spinach a few onions and a dusting of cranberries, that was it! The tuna was fine but the salads were a disappointment at best. The harvest squash bowl was also lacking, the squash was very much under roasted and the salad was dry. Breakside brewery went from a place we always hit when we’re in Portland to a brewery we most likely won’t return to.....
Excellent beer. Got reprimanded a little for not sampling a beer before I ordered it after the server highly recommend the beer. I didn't like it and sent it back. He was not happy with me. I sampled a couple others before that and was happy to have that option to do so. I would still go back. The food, beer, and ambiance was great. Will skip that server though. I didn't let him ruin my time there with my family.
Solid.Pretzel
We shared the chicken nachos and a couple cold IPA's. The nachos and beer were fantastic. Service was super fast.
Lots of fresh hop options right now
Great food, and it had my single favorite beer of the trip. Mexican Coffee Stout. The food was excellent, the Pretzel was large and salty w/ 2 yummy dipping sauces. My Italian sandwich was packed w/ meat and full of flavor. I also tried their other beers, and enjoyed the majority of them. My wife also liked her beers.
Overall good food. Beer was average. Staff were amazing
Decent food and a lot of good beer. Service was great and staff was friendly. It wasn't crowded on a Tuesday evening but still had a good vibe
Good beer and food. We had chicken nachos and tried the different flights of beers. Lots of toppings on nachos, but I thought the chicken was a little bland. Would order the nachos again with a different meat option, but was still good. Beers were tasty, a lot to try so you should find one you like. It's a casual spot with some outside seating. Only drawback is the ongoing construction right across the street. It can get pretty noisy.
Good beer and food and an easy going atmosphere.
Friendly service, excellent food and tasty beers. All you can ask for in a brew pub.
Good food, pretty good location but paid parking is ugh. Okay so the pretzels were as big as my chest. We had a party of 4 plus three kids. Ordered two pretzels but only needed to order one. The cheese is a must. The beer flights are a must !!! You won’t be disappointed. I got the Slabtown, it’ll be my go to from here on out. And the other fruity beers, super yum! Can’t wait to try it again. But it’s not in my ‘hood so gotta make that special trip
Special of the day was amazing! Love the decor and the food was amazing. The drumsticks are huge!
Nice place delicious food
Pretty standard as far as breweries go. Average prices, fare, selection of beer.
I like it here. Had a lager I liked, and some drumsticks with buffalo sauce (whatever that is!) Full of people but still room to move about during a mid afternoon happy hour.
One of my favorites in Portland. Two story Modern wood aesthetic with open bar style seating on the top and more of a restaurant style on the bottom. Fantastic beer list and the food is delicious.
Delicious beer and food. One of my favorite brewery.
Awesome place! Only got some beers but they were very knowledgeable and knew a lot about their beers!
If you're looking for a brewery with high quality pub food, then look no further. Love this place.
One of the best. Beer is spot on and food is great. Parking is scarce at best and most of the area is pay to park. Had the "Kids These Haze" NE Hazy IPA and it was great. Paired it with parmesan garlic fries and a side of Mac n cheese. Delicious! Love
Excellent variety of beer and a diverse menu of delicious food. Wonderful and better every time I visit.
Great brewery and restaurant, nice upper level for private events
The service was great, the food yummy (I had the pork belly and mushroom pasta) and the beer was good, very good but we did not taste that...'oh my God that was amazing'. Oh and atmosphere was really lovely.
Breakside has a great atmosphere with friendly service!
Loved this place! Service was great and very friendly. It was a bit warm and loud inside, outside seating was perfect! We shared the Triple burger and Mini Mac, both were good. The red sauce on the burger was lick your fingers delicious. The IPA sampler was well liked, all 6 of them were good.
Two visits in two weeks. Both excellent. The service is laid back, but attentive. Very knowledgeable staff that always helps with recommendations. The Mac & Cheese with chicken was excellent. The blackened chicken sandwich was amazing. The beer is excellent and the barrel aged selections are among the best I’ve had. Highly recommend Breakside.
I've been here a few times and the food and beer and service is usually good, but this time our server had no problem ignoring us and giving us attitude whenever we were lucky enough to flag him down. The other servers were great and picked up his slack by helping us pass on the message that we were ready for the check and bussing our plates. Meanwhile our guy showed up well after we'd finished our food to ask if we had been served yet... Talk about a disconnect. We usually buy at least 2 rounds of drinks but opted to leave instead because our server had forgotten all about us. I used to serve for a living, but this guy acted like he had no bills to pay.
Beer choices and quality was awesome. Most of the food we ordered needed some type of improvement, but decent never-the-less. Would definitely go back for the Beer!
Great service, great beer, great atmosphere, pretty good food, and dog-friendly to boot.
Fun place for birthday celebration. Staff very friendly and great. Service was awesome.
After five years, I found my favorite brewery in Portland, and it's right here in my neighborhood! Breakside IPA is the best. I'm even bringing some of their beer to my wedding. The space is great, they have a pretty popular outdoor patio that's covered during the winter. Keep up the good work breakside!
I only wished they carried more gluten free beer options. There was only one cider option. Food was spectacular
Boy have i missed this place since moving out. Food is always on point, always great beers. Chill spot for office workers on lunch or be like the couple next to me and talk loudly about GoT theories and spoilers
Only reviewing the beer as did not order food during visit. Place was very packed as it was early Friday evening but was lucky enough to grab a seat at upstairs bar which had a number of games on. Beers were all excellent and service was very fast
Tasty “Steam Lager” called “Fun Fact” 16 oz for $6. Vegan Spring Rolls for $7 were accompanied by a tangy yummy sauce and the rolls were crispy and fried hot, but the interior filling of cabbage and carrots was meh. Still, a lively atmosphere with excellent service from the bar.
This place was easy to find, and close to a lot of other great food and whatnot slabtown. I did not grab any food here, but what from what we saw others get, it did look pleasing. The beer is the star of the show here. The website was accurate so if you were looking for something specific, check there first. The pre selected flights were good and the non-IPA beer selection was good as well. They even had a good cocktail menu too! Check this place out!
Cool brew spot in NW Portland I stopped in for brunch. It was noonish and breakfast/ brunch was over. I went for the gyro and bourbon and mint drink. Both were great and I loved the curly fries. The space was very well decorated with both outside and inside seating. This is a cool spot to cruise your Bird scooter to and have some fun on the patio. This place sells really cool gear too. Stop in and see what's up. Oh and there's TV for sports.
The Mac and Cheese are surprisingly delicious. As is the Pineapple under the Tea sour ale.
Great beer, good food. We sat outside on a nice summer's day, drank beer and relaxed! The hummus plate was very good, with house-made hummas. The blackened chicken was a bit spicy for me, but the other half says he liked it that way. Dog friendly on the shade-covered patio. Also had a flight, because I couldn't pick between the beers; 6 pours for $10 was a great deal.
It is busy, loud, and may take quite some time to get your order in but it is well worth the wait. Some of the best IPAs I've ever had (and I've had a LOT of them). The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly too (when things cool down and they're not in super-high-efficiency mode).
Love this place! Best brewery in PDX. The patio is always prepared for the weather. Everyone is always dog friendly! And the beer and food are so yummy!
The beer here is obviously good. The pretzel is the favorite thing I get here every time I go to Breakside. Overall very pleased with the restaurant and the food too
It is a cool place to meet up with friends
I prefer Dekum but this place is still good
Great food and service, delicious beers
A big space with local and craft beers! A good food selection too!
Great place for lunch while catching up with friends.
Amazing food and a great setup. There’s plenty of seating, and the upstairs is reserved for 21+. The food is all amazing-their giant pretzel is a must! The beer is also great, we tried many and liked almost all. For a great vegetarian option, their quinoa bowl is delicious and changes seasonally. 10/10 would recommend!
The beer was fantastic and the food was good but the service left something to be desired. We were rushed to leave.
Big fan of this place. Prompt service. Great food. Great atmosphere. The outdoor patio is awesome!
Fantastic beer and a great location as well. It's a wonderful place to hang with friends
Great little brewpub with good beer and interesting food. The prices are good for the neighborhood. The burgers are pretty big.
Too trendy and loud for 5 stars. But the service and beer are good.
Awesome beer and great food
I had a good time at all the microbreweries I visited in Portland, this was no exception. Take out brew in cooler was great price! Their IPA is worthwhile
A pub without purpose. It's deemed popular and serves well crafted cocktails and a fair selection of beers. If all you want is to drink with friends, it'll do. There's a fair menu of innovative recipes using Sysco products but nothing amazing. The brewery smells a bit hoppy at all times and when mixed with the scent of the kitchen gives a slight aroma of feet.
I was very nice place good beers on tap they let you test them to be like place was very clean staff was nice but the thing I didn't like his running there were three boys construction workers instead of a little spending so we asked the guy about the nacho and he said oh yeah it's plenty of food there to feed you three I don't know who is used to feeding but I would hit that whole thing myself and still been hungry so for three of us to try to share it yeah I don't think so but it wasn't a bad deal we should just got more or should I knew better this belly can eat a lot but thank you for keeping it clean and being nice maybe make your portion sizes a little bit bigger it's a tad bit spendy Uhura phone you only really go in there for the beer not the food
Excellent food (especially the pretzel) and good atmosphere
Their chicken wrap was good, just wish you could choose your own flight rather than what they had pre made.
My first time at Breakside and I got the pretzel. It was out of this gosh dang world! Super delicious. The only thing I would change or get more of, is that melted Gouda cheese that comes with the pretzel. Our server was super fun and nice. Great place and great atmosphere. Dog friendly outside. Can't wait to go back and try some more of their menu items
This place is busy!! Beers are good and it’s got a great vibe. Be prepared to wait for a spot on a Saturday!
Disappointing. I really enjoy their Breakside, and Wanderlust in bottles... the legged brews were not as smooth.
