I love this place. Their menu is incredible, and yes, they do have amazing pie! I've tried three different menu items and one pie so far, and nothing has left me disappointed! The staff are so friendly and attentive, even when they are more on the busy side. It is a place where everyone in the family can find something to eat and be happy. The portions are large and so filling that you might have to take leftovers home for the next day. Just thinking about this place makes my mouth water because you think about the good food you have already tried, and the good food you still have to try.

I loved the fact that I could play the machines in the back while I waited for my food. Service was okay and they were not so busy. Pancakes were Awesome. I took home a pie and it was Delicious! We will come definitely come back!

First off let me tell you a little something I have been coming here for about 15 years now never been let down. Also food has always been good with a at home vibe. The food is homemade and the pies are homemade everyday you just cant beat a place like this. Food is responsible on price. They also have a little gambling area. Bathrooms aren't huge but not super small either. Staff is super friendly and caring.

We drove past this place after eating somewhere else so thought we'd try it out the following night. It was pretty busy so we figured the food had to be ok. Our waiter was very friendly and service was quick. I had the fried chicken and it tasted very good. Veggies were also good. My friend had the pot roast and he said it was so tender and tasty. Fairly basic menu with home cooked meals. All of the food we saw being delivered looked great and there was lots of it.

We stopped here on our first night in town. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed sitting on the patio. We ordered a good amount of food, drinks, and my kids took pie home. The one downside to the meal was my salad. It was a serving size bowl with shredded iceberg lettuce, chopped thin sliced lunch meat and very little else. Aside from that everything else was tasty and gone quickly.

Ordered food to go. Asked for no tomato on the omelet and a side of ranch (to go with my hashbrowns). They made the omelet with tomato and bacon (it was a vegetarian omelet) so I sent it back. Second round of food comes and at this point, I’ve waited close to an hour for my order. I check to make sure it was made correctly and headed home because 50 minutes to wait for a to go order is ridiculous. Realized when I got home that they forgot the ranch I had ordered and the toast was bone dry. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. Two stars because the omelet was good but I don’t foresee us ever ordering from here again.

The Hamburgers were good but I was disappointed with the manager as I needed to order a child's burger and was charged for 2 adult burgers which were to go. The manager said if we would return that he would give us a free piece of pie and when we returned he said that was for " eat in only" we have an autistic child who was in the car waiting with his chaperone. I explained that we couldn't "eat in" as it would be so disruptive to other patrons and he said no he would not let us take the 1 piece of pie to go......Very Disheartened..

I really like the atmosphere and the prices didn't seem too bad but are on the higher side but once my party received their meals we were all fairly unsatisfied the only exception one of my group really liked the chicken soup I would recommend just sticking to their pies if you don't mind spending around $6 for a piece stop in once in a while and grab some as for the biscuits and gravy complete failure biscuits were disgusting mushy hard at the same time tasted rubbery not nearly enough gravy I got a fourth of what you need in some stupid looking gravy boat with smashed shredded lettuce underneath it I'm not sure what they were thinking portions are very small for the price most of the omelets are pretty decent hash browns don't waste your time with outside is cooked well but inside is all mushy watery and tasteless looks more like mashed potatoes but doesn't taste nearly as good as mashed potatoes usually taste the wait to be seated drinks offered and the food to be brought out is also insane must have a very long lunch break if you're in a hurry and my visit was during a brake and customers there is approximately five other filled tables no reason for it to take so long why you would microwave biscuits I have no idea..

I’ve been coming to this establishment for years and I’ve never had this type of experience. The waitress and service manager were terrible. The waitress spent more than 5 minutes with patrons of her color and attended less with people unlike her. I would recommend that future patrons that eat at this establishment be aware of this type of treatment. I’m hoping that this is not part of their future practices. Dr. Markey

Good food, good portions, good prices, typical pie house with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Best fried chicken in the world - and you can order it as a side dish too!! (The chicken and biscuit breakfast is to die for - get the sausage gravy on the side to keep that chicken crispy!!) Steak medallions with balsamic reduction are excellent too! Breakfast served all day, which is always a plus in my book!

The pie is disgusting. Might as well grab a pie from your local grocery store instead; I'm sure it would be a lot better. The customer service is horrible if you go in after hours. Although when you only have 2 tables in your section and leave food sitting in the window I can't imagine the service gets any better when they are busier throughout the day. Our waiter decided to count his money for the night when our food came out. Once 5 minutes had gone by and my food was still waiting at the window I confronted him. He rudely tells me that I'm wrong and that the food had just came up. He then tries to grab the plates with dirty money hands and bring it to my table. I left having waited 45 minutes for horrible service, a disgusting attitude from the server, and no food. I don't recommend this place at all!

The food was good. However, as a disabled individual, there really is not a lot of accessibility. The entry way is too small, there is very little maneuvering ability and the restroom had so called access. The handicapped stall is right behind the entry door.

Very good food. Portion size is quite decent. They really deserve four and a half stars. They only lose points for somewhat outdated layout. But for some that might be nostalgic. Definitely a great place to grab breakfast or a slice of pie. The staff for the most part was very courteous. The 24 hour open factor is also a plus. We'll come back again.

We hadn't been here in 13 years because we left Oregon, but remembered we liked it. I think the food is better now. I had a burger and salad. Both were so fresh and tasty. We indulged in the in-season Marrion Berry Pie. Yum!!! Good quality icecream to top it off. The coffee was great too. Wonderful variety of desserts.

I've been going to be any and since I was a little girl. It's a fantastic family-owned business who stands behind their homemade food. They're known for their pies and desserts but I think they should be known for everything they serve because it's all fresh and delicious and if there's ever an issue they will fix it with a smile on their face. Of course people have bad days and anywhere you go you can get a server or waitress with not the brightest smile on their face but for the most part I give this place a hundred percent for their food and service. I would say once out of every 20 times I go there might be a three-star review instead of a five star review but like I said people have bad days and it's not going to change how I feel about this fantastic restaurant. The food is great and they're always adding new things to the menu and are always creative with their specials. Their soups are to-die-for and absolutely amazing! I recommend this place to any and all!

First time dining in and New to Bannings. We were a party of two and was greeted With a Very friendly manner, was seated in 2 minutes, food was Hot, fresh and short wait to receive. My son had the blue cheese burger and said it was good, cooks should just add seasonings, the strawberry lemonade was Awesomely fresh!! I truly enjoy visiting Bannings pie house. The food is always delicious. They have delightful fresh made pies daily. It is casual enough to bring your kids and the food is good enough for date night. Price point is around $20 for a dinner plate. It is also their 40th anniversary so there are a few special things on the menu.

Went here while in town for work, ended up being very pleasantly surprised. Expected your run of the mill diner, but was impressed by the incredibly friendly staff, fantastic food, and fun atmosphere. I got one of their specialty burgers, which was very largely portioned, and delicious. My only regret was that I didn't save room for their amazing looking pies!

So good! My current favorites are the chicken and waffles and now the breakfast enchiladas! I always look forward to Summer because of their fresh strawberry mound pie. Glazed strawberries piled on top of vanilla pudding on a nice pie crust. Treated ourselves the other night to the red, white, and blue which is the same but added blueberries.

My friend and I stopped here on our way to explore some waterfalls. We got off the plane hungry and decided we needed breakfast. Love the atmosphere of the place. I tried the waffle combo with some sausage and eggs it was so delicious. Love finding amazing places to eat breakfast. Recommended if you like desert. They have plenty. Didn't get to try some but next time im in town I'll get some pecan pie.

My first time here. Service was okay, table wasn't very clean (hence only 4 stars). I ordered off the honored guest menu because the portions are usually smaller and I wanted to save room for pie. Be warned the portions are big! I had the roast turkey dinner. It was delicious! The mashed potatoes were super yummy. The stuffing and turkey were good. The veggies were sliced zucchini and carrots; pretty good. The whole berry cranberry sauce was very good. I was quite full after all of that, but of course, I had to have pie. I ordered the coconut cream pie and it was very good. The best I've had in a long time. And it was a good-sized piece.

The other day we dropped in for breakfast, and the worst service we have ever had here. Waitress wasn't very friendly, never checked how food was and we waited to only have to ask for our coffees to be refilled once. Very sad service. It wasn't that busy, not to mention there were 4 to 5 waitresses on duty. Sad.

I used to go here a lot back in my later high school and then college days, many years ago, and I gotta say, the food and the pies are still amazing. The place has withstood the test of time, is one of the oldest (maybe the oldest) 24 hour restaurants in the Southwest Portland / Tigard area. They bake their own breads and deserts in house, fresh everyday. Who does that anymore? It has great burgers, with fresh baked buns, sandwiches on fresh baked bread, the pies are homemade and the slices are large. If you're there while strawberries are in season, don't pass up the chance to get the fresh strawberry shortcake with their own amazing fresh baked shortcake. You won't be disappointed.

Same delightful food and sudden service that we've come to expect! Beau was an absolute delight, and the 40th Anniversary Burger was full of flavor! The Elvis pie (peanut butter cream, banana cream, chocolate cream, and whipped cream) evokes The King on so many levels. Plus, the slices were twice as thick as most restaurant pies.

About as good as it can get at a diner. I never expect the most amazingly delicious food for inexpensive dining, but this place is consistently GOOD. I generally avoid ordering foods I can make at home when ordering from a diner. I dont have that problem here, everything they make here is better than what I can make at home! I love trying new stuff here, it's always very tasty and satisfying, plus I usually leave with leftovers for the next day. The pies are also great, their crust is excellent texture!!! They've earned their reputation for having great pies; they really are incredible!

Loved this cozy family friendly diner and its menu full of delicious dishes. The desserts are made in-house and looked amazing in the display case, though we were too full to sample this trip. I opted for some comfort food and ordered the chicken and biscuits with gravy; it did not disappoint! My husband ordered loaded hash browns and they were deelish. My sister ordered a sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised to hear them offer a multitude of breads, as well as a lettuce wrapped sandwich. Will definitely eat there again!

It has been more than a year since I had been there. But the disappointment was twofold. First the eggs were cold the sausage dry and the country gravy was bland. Secondly since I wasn't a regular the waitress seemed to have little to no focus on me. There were a family from wyoming across from me and they got seated before two other booths yet she went right past them to take care of regulars. You create regukars with good service and good food.

Been going to Banning's for the better part of 20 years. Always a good option for homestyle comfort food and fantastic pies....and it doesn't matter if it's 6pm or 3am - staff is always friendly and prompt. Recent remodel was needed, and definitely improves the atmosphere of the dining room.

The food was plentiful and cooked very well: the shredded hash browns were crispy golden brown without being too dry or too mushy, the eggs perfectly over easy, and the toast lightly browned. Prices were slightly higher than I've paid at other local diners, but worth it. Clean and bright with a modern decor, I'm definitely going back to try dinner and their famous pies.
