REVIEWS OF Amalfi's IN Oregon

Kayti Thorn

The food is delicious, the staff is kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is great. Best gnocchi I've ever had! I'll definitely be back.

Brett Gottfried

Very nice and friendly staff. They were willing to accommodate any special requests that we had. Pizza was not bad, they have an enormous amount of topping options allowing for some crazy pizzas. Great place to take a family.

DeeAnn Kelly

Impeccable service. Great menu selection. Delicious in fact. Cozy atmosphere, plenty of seating and room for large parties and private dining . To-go case with bake at home options huge plus. Superb wine selection. 5++ (Picture-Spaghettini & meatballs)

Patricia Rudisill

I eat at Amalfi's every chance I get. The food is great, the service is even better.

Rachel H

Amazing soup and appetizers; great wait staff. Food served quickly. Got cheese ravioli for main dish that was pretty standard but all other food was great. Especially enjoyed the aranciti.

Stephanie Dwyer

Ordered minestrone soup and garlic bread. Soup was very bland and garlic bread was just crispy flavorless toasted bread chunks.

Kevin Heriford

We only visited this place 1 time & it was grt will let ppl know how good food they have

andrew gooch

Good place to go out on a date or out with the family.

David

One of the best Italian restaurants in the tricounty area. I really wanted to give them 5 stars but the soda machine was broke, we requested more bread because it was delicious but the second loaf was not fresh. We will be back because the food was great service above average and great atmosphere with the Frank Sinatra background music.

Kelly Hartman

Love there food! Best tomato soup ever!

Natalie Mazzola

Love this place! Food is great. The staff are so polite. We really enjoy the pizza and the lasagna. Also their crab bisque is great. Always consistent and great!

Jesse Goodrich

Good food and great service. Sat outside on the patio and had a lovely time.

Irene Elena Rose

Happy place, excellent service, good for vegans craving tasty Italian food, and you can bring your omnivore friends/family. A charming little gift shop/market is off the lobby; my friend had an Old Fashioned and I had Chianti, and we were both happy with our drinks. Food was excellent. I will be back!

Kim C

I went there for pizza week! Really great neighborhood and restaurant. It was busy but with 2 people, we were able to sit within a few minutes. Service was good, it was busy so the hostess had to bring us water, and another waitress came to get our order but the main server was really nice. Come early to reserve a table if you have a crowd. It gets busy! Outdoor seating is amazing on nice days.

Bonnie Ford

Food and service was excellent.

Betsy Brundage

Been going here for years. Service is generally great. Food quality varies from visit to visit. Overall good

Lauren Leigh

Really lovely, warm restaurant with great pizzas and the staff are amazing with kids. Great for families that want to get a few pizzas for everyone to share and not pay too much.

Wayne Ackerman

Great food and a big serving size

Janet Hayes

It's our dad's favorite place for special occasions and now I know why. Everything was excellent the food the service and the atmosphere

Laurie and Roger Sandstrom

The soup wasn't so good but the service and salad was excellent. The servers went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Highly recommend Amalfi's

Lee Ann Malaussena

All three of us thought our dinners were horrible. The food was tasteless and not good. We will not return.

Heather Bee

First time and probably last time. Let me parents pick while they were in town. Food quality does not match the price. Brussels And bacon? Bacon bits maybe. Felt microwaved. Small portions. Meatballs were tasty but spaghetti Was bland as heck. Family member loved the creamy pesto sauce. Was served 5 melting ice cubes for my ICED tea. But families drinks also had the same amount. Wasn't offered refills on anything. Just really dropped the ball. Waiter was kind and smiley but felt like he was very new. All in all not someplace I'd recommend or go back to. Heard good things. Not my experience.

Kip Ching

Good food, liked the outdoor seating with the fire pit. Wait staff on our night did not check on us. It was cold so I wonder if that influenced her lack of attention. We had the pizza which was delicious. Drinks were well poured. Decent price for the quality of food and atmosphere.

Lisa Kelly

Good food but cramped space. I didn't realize I have to take my old knees up and down a long set of stairs to get to a table.

Sean Bonner

I use to come here all the time for lunch when I worked close. Great place with even better staff. It's small and quiet which is nice. I only got the chicken alfredo every time but it was perfect.

Susan Martin

Wonderful little Italian in Belle Hall shopping center. We live near by and frequent this restaurant. The pizza is excellent and the spaghetti meatballs is one of our favorites. The homemade bread and oil are wonderful!

Keesha Glass

Love the food here!!

Karl Band

Went here to pick up and was treated very poorly.

David Richter

Always a great experience. Awesome lunch specials and the service is always good whether they’re crowded or not.

Lisa Brumm

A long time family favorite.... American bacon and fresh tomatoes is out of this world ourselves!!! My kids gold standard in pizza!!

Kimberly Morey

The best pizza I've had in years! Fresh, crisp and plwnty of toppings.

Jason Feagan

Great Italian food at a great price. Portions are huge

Elizabeth Dille

The food was spectacular. House-made ceasar dressing...SOOOO yummy. Scampi, spaghetti, cheesy garlic bread ... everything was So Good

Grace Gordon

Recommend David he is amazing. The owner is so friendly and nice.

Kyle Dernedde

To whom it may concern, quality to-go boxes. Serivce was really good. Great people. Where they failed to deliver was in the quality of food for the price. Pretty bland. Drink prices were very expensive. If you like Michael Jackson this restaurant is for you because all they played was MJ the entire time we were there.

Chuck Shehadi

Decent Italian food. Really cool takeout area

Whitney Reed

Always great! Friendly staff and always fresh with large portions. Owner is actually from Italy! Great little Italian spot.

Angie Burmeister

13 of us sat in the Legend room and enjoyed the 5 different courses they had to offer. My favorite was the lasagna, very flavorful. The food and service was fabulous!

Jana Reiter

David and his crew are awesome!! Food is soooo good♡

Professor Me

I have so much to say about how good this restaurant is. Reading reviews probably isn't the best use of your time because to fully understand it you have to go there. The waiters/waitresses are so enjoyable it makes you wish they all you friend. The food is all to die especially the salads. You can tell how much work was put into each dish. I would personally recommend the carbonara as it is so delicious I would ask for it as my final meal. To experience how great the atmosphere here is you really have to go there. This is one of if not my favorite restaurant.

John Digiacinto

Amalfi’s is exemplary. Their food reminds me of home. A Portland institution, very much underrated.

Ian Siegner

The best crust flavor in town, hands down! Very good pizza. Been coming here since I was a kid. A lot has changed except the ownership and the quality. Thank you Amalfis.

Rose SS

Amazing, authentic Italian! Please don't change your recipe.

Juan Velez

Amalfi’s is a great neighborhood spot with amazing happy hour and drinks.

Andrea LaFazio

We go here all the time. It's always delicious.

Todd Kennedy

Great happy hour menu. The food was great and a there is even a little marketplace inside if you want food to go! We will be coming back. Has a cozy fire in the bar.

bonnie may

For what I feel is chef Boyardee quality, it's much too expensive. Drinks are outrageously over priced

Sarah Chapman

Don't let the dusty fixtures and small space scare you away. Okay, the wait times for a table, food, and your bill can be bad as well. There is better Italian food out there for sure. The pizza here is pretty good though.

Jackson Nietert

I've only ever gotten pizza here and our was really good. But I think Finn's just a block away has a lot better pizza.

David Bradham

My girlfriend and I always come here for date night. It is our favorite place in all of mount pleasant. We’ve been many times and never been disappointed. Absolutely amazing, authentic food. The spaghetti with meatballs was an incredible meal. They also have the best cannoli I have ever had - and I’ve spent months in Italy. I come here every chance I get!

kelly nations

Great food and better service. Pasta and pizza are great and the price is so affordable. This is a gem we will come back when in the area. Spaghetti with Italian sausage was perfect.

Erin

I ordered the eggplant parmesan. It seemed like it had been prepared quite a few days ago and it tasted like flavorless soggy cardboard. They did take it off the tab at least, but no manager came over to apologize. Caprese salad was good and the bread too.

Ponniranjan Basker

Long wait time to sit but the food was good and worth it.

Mike Houston

Been coming here for over 40 years. First came with my grandparents and dad. First time bringing my kids here. It has changed a lot (serious upgrades from the original building) but the food has always been amazing. I love the hamburger pizza. Can't beat it.

maurice stroman

Food and service

Jsnice Bergeron

Fantastic! Great food and service and great prices.

Dennis Puetz

Good place, lots of history, excellent service and food .... Always good to be here !!! Thanks for taking care of Telephone Pioneers old employees !!!

Stacey Brown-Sommers

Great atmosphere. Very cosy! The pasta was a little overcooked. But a great local spot if You're looking for a step up from Olive garden or spaghetti factory. :)

Robert S

Good food, good service. Chicken parmigiano was quite good. Tyanne was a great waitress. Friendly and hustling the whole time my wife and I were there. Place was a little loud but it was busy so that's to be expected. Didn't take away from our meal or our experience.

Gollehon Family

Good home cooked food and good service. We had not been there for a while and are glad we went for a quick dinner bite.

Noah Schultz

Great neighborhood italian restaurant. Foods good, happy hour is awesome. Take out available.

Chris Carson

Best Italian in Mount Pleasant by far! The food is homemade and very fresh. David(owner) is normally always there and makes us feel tight at home every time.

Michael Silver

Very tasty sauce. Crab bisque is fantastic. Good bread. With visiting.

Riley Brown

Was surprised at how much I love this restaurant and their food! Highly recommend the fettuccine Alfredo and the tomato soup is the best I’ve ever had!

Louie Amurao

Great place for dinner Italian food! Great service!

Walk Fly

Making friends and delicious traditional Italian classics for over 50 years. Excellent, friendly, affordable trattoria since 1959. Their Pizza is spoken of in solemn tones!

Christina Ballaris

Always a quality meal in a family friendly environment. Friendly, professioal staff. Air conditioning was on so it was too cold and had to eat with jackets covering our shoulders.

Bridget Lovett

Love love love this place! (grew up down the street so I am biased). Pizza is great and even better the next day. The rosemary chicken provolone ravioli is delicious! Really stepped up its game when the daughter took over and remodeled, …

Dylan Houston

Fantastic place. I've been going for over 2 years now. I've had plenty of items, from spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, canneloni, philly steak sub, pizza, and chicken marsala. It is all fantastic. The chicken marsala with penne pasta is my favorite dish here. Better prices than Carabbas and better food. The owner and staff treat their customers right. 5/5 stars.

Nate Mac

Awesome restaurant! Ordered from their happy hour menu, food was fantastic! Waitresses were friendly and helpful as well! Highly recommend!

Luci Lu

Terrible. I’ve been here twice and vowed never ever to eat here again. Twice I’ve had horrible service. The first time it we went my mother got sick by the food. Last time my aunt and I both got sick. The food is WAY over priced. The restaurant wasn’t that cleanly. Never eating here again and I would recommend Fazoils over this because Fazoils has better Alfredo than they did Replying back to you. This was a while back I passed by thinking about the horrible time I had. Not everyone is going to like you. You will have bad reviews. I think its very unprofessional of you to call out people saying. When? Or saying lair and untrue. If you can not take criticism don’t look at the reviews. Not everyone is going to like this restaurant

Michael Journey

OMFSM! We are stuffed - ate way too much awesome food. It's been a long time since we have had italian food this good. Our hometown doesn't have any decent Italian restaurants and we try to find them on road trips. Amalfi's is a rather small comfortable restaurant. When we walked in (at 7pm on a Sunday) we were the only customers there. We were seated immediately by a friendly server. By the time we left, there were nine more diners and several take out orders. After ordering our drinks, the server brought out a basket of heavenly warm bread and a small plate of EVOO with Balsamic vinegar and spices to dip the bread into. So good! I would go here just for the bread alone... I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and a Caesar salad. The salad came out with crisp croutons and the dressing on the side - just as it should be. The salad was good but not great. The fettuccine however, was outstanding. Served hot, the Alfredo sauce was creamy, seasoned perfectly, and oh so delicious. My wife had the Tortellini alla Panna which also was served hot and creamy. It was awesome in flavor and texture. Her only complaint was that the ham (Panna) was a bit too salty. Neither of us could finish it all so we boxed up the remaining entrées (and some extra bread) and away we went. The meal was $38 including a 20% tip. We come to Charleston / Mount Pleasant two or three times a year and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Great food, service could have been more attentive

Dana Thill

I liked this place for the decor and service. The food was good but to be honest wasnt anything special. I still would recommend coming here and would go back in the future to try again.

Stuart Peterson

I've been going to Amalfi's since the mid-70's. The pizza has always been excellent. The atmosphere has been upgraded over the years, to keep up with the gentrification of the neighborhood, but it's still the same great food and outstanding service. Other items on the menu are all wonderful, but the pizza, arguably the best in the Portland metro area, keeps me coming back. There's limited outdoor seating for when the weather permits. The bar is cozy, and the beer selection is good. They're still well connected with their past - the old clock that used to run backwards still hangs in the main eating area, but it's no longer plugged in, likely for reasons of fire safety. You'll never go wrong by visiting Amalfi's. Dinner hours can be pretty busy, and a 30-minute (or more) wait is common. Don't let that deter you. Your tummy will thank you for it.

Cindy Harris

Pizza not that great. Service good. Wine was good.

Abbie Wallace

Good food & the servers were really nice.

Schreiber Metal Dan

I'm glad it's still there lot of childhood memories.

Rhyann Bennett

Delicious pizza for Pizza Week. We went to several pizza joints over the week and Amalfi’s was the only one that was baked when we ordered it. It was fresh and the crust to topping ratio was perfect.

Robert Nicotra

Let it be said that this is the 1st time EVER I write a review for a restaurant. I just felt I had to. I am from Italy myself, and it's a good thing this place can rely on most customers' lack of knowledge of real italian food, because over there, he wouldn't last a month. My wife and I had such high hopes, given the good reviews we read about this place. What a disappointment. The atmosphere was very nice and our waitress Abigail was delightful and gave good service with a smile. My Linguine with Clams was absolutely horrible. Presented in a gigantic bowl (beautiful), there was barely two forketful of pasta, and though the Clams were good, the whole dish was way too salty. For the 1st time ever in my life, I had to ask for more pasta. I'm not a big eater and I'm slim, but it was so little that made it insulting ($14). The waitress brought some more linguine, which was drenched in butter. Disgusting!!! While I was waiting, my wife offered some of the pizza she ordered. It was soggy and blend. I looked her at and she said "I know, right?". It was like eating mushy mud. Gross. The bread and salad were delicious, but I can get those at Harris Teeter. I looked at other people's dishes and they looked bountiful, as they should be, but also drenched in sauces, probably to cover up the mediocre general flavor. We will not go back and we are sorry we waisted our money. We did tip Abigail 30% because she deserved it. The rest was offensive to the palate. Shame on you (cooks or owner, whoever prepared it) for making false claims about your cooking abilities. Come to my house. I'll teach you a thing or two....

Rachael Ross

Amalfi's is one of my favorite authentic Italian! They have the BEST homemade bread around!! Everything on the menu has been delicious!

Denise Bauer

Always great Italian food and good service.

Kevin Hook

One Of The best little Italian restaurants in town. Great classic Italian dishes, excellent pizza, chilled pasta dishes, add-ons & wine to go & very cozy little bar area. Worth checking out.

Eisen Laucik

Soo delicious and great service....we will definitely eat here again.

Alexander Carranza

Amazing. Love the service. Love the food. Quality at an affordable price. I share my meal with my wife because we can’t stay away from the bread, amazing appetizers and delicious soup and salad (try the crab bisque). A hidden gem for sure.

Randy barnett

Excellent Italian cuisine we had a calzone and a sicilian Pizza. Ney York Style. Staff very friendly owner came out said hello. Super great restaurant

Iklime Coskun

Yes, its it italian food, but I‘d rather call it comfort food . Its really heavy. If you are looking for lots of cheese and heavy cream in your soup, pasta, pizza and so on, this is the place to go. It’ll make you feel good. If you wanna stay on the slim side, you‘ll feel bad.. The prices are really fair, cant complain about that.

Eduardo Capo

This is the best Italian Restaurant I have been. Believe me, I have been in a lot of Italian Restaurants and this one in Mount Pleasant, SC, is the best. Is like a small treasure in South Carolina. The lunch special is worthy.

Jean Brakefield

THE food is soo good I love everything about this restaurant (service ,food ,menu, waiters are really great. )

David Sampson

Wonderful family run place. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. Everything was fresh - even the rolls. I will be back again. The prices are right and the service was friendly.

Matt Brown

The cannelloni was quite good, the service and salads met our high expectations. The only slight downside was the bread did not taste as fresh as expected.

Gary Freeman

Long time fan of this Italian restaurant. Been going here since a teenager. Love their marinara sauce and spaghetti sauce.

Kristen Morgan

Most adorable little restaurant. Great meal. Area for to go food. Great choices.

Coleman Riddle

Got take out pizza. My friends and I have rules for pizza. We rate the pizza on a scale of 1-10. So now We all know the rules one bite number 1-10. 4.8....

Ghost x Black

Great place, love their pizza. They have custom made me a buffalo chicken style a few times which I have never experienced a joint doing before (because it's not on their menu). The chefs & the staff are always very friendly.

BB PE

Great food and very friendly owner!

Christine Curcio

Love their pizza! Antipasta salad is great!

Trey Robinson

Always delicious!

Chris Richardson

This was our first visit to the Charleston area. We did not have any bad dining experiences here, but Amalfi's was by far our best dining experience. The food was wonderful and our server Brandon was hands down the best server in the area. I ate here with my wife and 2 kids (5 & 2) and our dining experience was so good that it prompted me to write my very first restaurant review.

Debra Walke

The service was good. Very friendly server, Karlisa. The Pinot Grigio and fettuccini alfredo was good. Only gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because the chicken in the pasta tasted like canned chicken.

Philip Honeyman

Food was great

Bebe Hoang

Very good service and food. Everything tasted real unlike other Italian restaurants. And the decor was clever. But one problem is the broccoli I got in my fettuccine. It was soggy, bitter and discolored. And it made my food taste unpleasing. Overall it was a place I could eat at again.

Adelia Wood

I have been twice and getting ready to get a pick-up order. The last two times I sat down with two different groups of friends. The spaghetti was delicious...loved the sauce. The bread was the best I have ever eaten. The crab bisque was good, but not the best I have ever had. This is my new favorite place I discovered here in Mt. Pleasant near the gym where I work out. OMG!

Meg Magee

Oh my gosh - the Spaghetti Carbonara (not on the menu and is what I order every time we eat at Amalfi's) is absolutely the best in the area. I have had it at other restaurants around here and no one can top Amalfi's. So flavorful and you can get it with or without egg. Love their food so much. My son also loves their Chicken Parmesan. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Alison Welch

Just picked up pizza to go. The pizza is off-the-hook good. Tonight we got half combo and half veggie. If you like meat the combo is super. They make a great vegetarian as well. Great salads to go in the cold case and super yummy desserts like tiramisu and specialty cakes .if you're getting it to go be sure to call ahead... it may take 25 to 40 minutes depending on the night. You won't regret it!

Mark Seleen

I had absolutely nothing to complain about which is rare at most restaurants. Service was exceptionally good, food was proportionally perfect, all 15 of us enjoyed our variety of mixed drinks... they have a parking lot! Atmosphere was also very nice. They also have outdoor seating.

CHRISTOPHER SCHULTZ

Casual and welcoming setting with consistently prepared dishes that have been very good. Not a fan of the bread though....

Bob Hibberd

First time . Excellent service, especially with 11 of us. Food was awesome and lovely ambiance.

Sharon Ezzell

Good Italian with our kids. Very pleasant

Sheena Trepanier

Good size fare for a good price. The rosemary chicken provolone ravioli was quite tasty.

Gail Nutt

Food is awesome. So authentic! One of my favorite local restaurants.

Von Theroux

I love this place. Always fresh and delicious. Great happy hour and customer service.

Jeffrey Gourley

Corey Peters

Great food, great staff

Katharine Dunlap

Food was very good! Relaxing place!

Michael Rhoads

Good Italian food at reasonable prices. Bathrooms and parking were good too. Staff was attentive and friendly. Place is kinda small but there is an upstairs too which I didn't see.

Shaun Rudy

Great Italian

Nicholas

The pizzas were great. We got to speak with they manager and had a great overall experience.

Buddy Harris

Went here with the wife looking for a small italian restaurant. We sat upstairs which was nice once we got up there. Felt bad for the servers but they still provided great service up and down the stairs. They all must be in shape working here!

Georgia Howard

The best Italian food ever! They Always have awesome service!!!! The owner is the nicest and sweetist person ever

Harley Rainwater

It is hard to find good Italian food in Charleston, and even harder to find reasonably priced Italian food anywhere. Amalfi's does both. I have been here on separate occasions, and have been highly satisfied each time. The Sunday gravy is heavy but not acidic. The cheese is high quality. The tomato bisque is the best I've had, and the service is top notch. If you like good food and good service, please check this place out.

Brendan Redington

our waiter Brandon was great very polite and helpful. The crab bisque was very good especially when paired with the fresh bread. The chicken parmigiano was perfect as well. Finally the cannolis were the best I ever had. Highly recommended. Definitely coming back.

Francine Bouchard

So nice to find an authentic Italian restaurant! The food is made fresh by the owner himself from Naples, Italy. Excellent service, prices and dishes. You must try the homemade tiramisu and gnochis!

Luke G

Delicious food and great atmosphere!

Billie Attaway

Small place, nice lunch menu, good food. Looking forward to eating there again.

Natalie DeMore

I don’t usually write reviews but me and my mom come in here a good amount of times. we absolutely love the food and staff! we pick up to go and eat in and every time the food is perfect and delicious! the bread is to die for, the spaghetti with marinara is my meal of choice, it is genuinely the best spaghetti around to eat out at. the prices are fantastic too. for the meal we’re eating here, it should be a hundred dollars a bite! id go broke instantly because we eat there a very good amount. i can say 100% this is delicious and authentic. The calamari is always crispy and well seasoned with great marinara. the pizza is wonderful and tastes fantastic. i recently got spine surgery and have had to stay at home, my mother goes to pick up food from this location and it always puts a smile on my face. considering italian is my favorite food i have hardly any reason to go anywhere else. we’ve tried more expensive restaurants before but none of them can do it like amalfis! here you get amazing portion sizes and fantastic service. every time i’ve been here we’ve been treated very kindly, with hardly any waiting time. we go during lunch most of the time and can get a seat right away, and get the food in very good speed. thank you so much to the owner and staff at this restaurant! y’all are very kind and very deserving of a 5 star review.

robert morse

Best Italian food for the money in the Charleston area

country music

We were there 2 weeks ago during a weeknight. First time there. Sorry I cant speak for the food because we never got to try it. Was told 15-20 minute wait and after waiting at least 30 minutes and being told a few times that there was a table for us any moment, was finally told that the table we had been waiting for was now not available because the owner said it was already reserved for someone. The staff apologized but didn't even offer a new wait time. So the only choice was to find another restaurant.

mmknow

We had a great experience...great food...great service... reasonably priced..I would have taken pictures of my food but I got excited and just was eating when I thought about taking pictures... me wife eats slower so was able to take pictures of hers...we both shared our food so I know it was all good...

Christopher Vaughn

Really great food. The red sauce is awesome!

Michael Replogle

Great food, staff & atmosphere. Consistent quality. Have been eating here with family for decades now & will continue to.

Amy Anderson

Great Italian food. Friendly staff. Good prices.

Peter Farrell

Great lunch specials. Very good service.

sheila campbell

My go to Italian spot in Mt. Pleasant!

Sameka Jenkins

We went in at 9:30pm and they were nice about our late seating. The food was delicious and the server was personable despite having a large party in the restaurant. The salad was fresh and the bread was dense just the way I like it. We will definitely visit again!

lakia ross

Love everything about it from the atmosphere to our waitress... great restaurant

Ed Vachal

Been coming here since '67. Always make the exact same pizza. Same Chianti. Always enjoy the experience.

Francesca Carozza

We met friends for happy hour and had an assortment of items. The meatballs and Mozzarella and pepperoni pizza were delicious. The bar has a rustic feel with a tabletop Firepit with seating around it. Upbeat.

Jess Montgomery

Great spot for Italian. Worth the drive if you are visiting from out of town.

Vincent Eagan

Excellent meal! Superb service!

Daverine Kama

Love the atmosphere and the food is so freaking good! I love coming here! Pizza, pasta spumoni yummmmm.

Ryan Kinowski

Authentic food with great service. A welcoming Mom and Pop feel.

Brad .M

Great pizza and linguini vonglela. The food was piping hot, and served quickly. My only complaint is when I asked for just some plain balsamic vinegar to put on my Caprese salad, I was told by the waiter he could not do that. A simple tray of grated Parmesan, olive oil and balasmic should be standard at any Italian restaurant.

Roger Barros

The food is really good the sauce for the spaghetti needs a lil more spice but other than that it's good people are friendly and make sure you are taken care of

Rissa Riss

Food and atmosphere was wonderful.

Mathew Boone

Came here with a group of friends and had a great time. The prices were reasonable. I got the bianca pizza which was perfectly cooked with an ice cold beer. The only bad part is that its way too packed, but luckily got a big table for 6 of us. Will be returning, but will to go it next time.

Mary Lucarelli

Great Italian food at reasonable prices.go here often.

William Weber

Great food, great service and great pricey.

becky lambert

Always great. Never ordered anything I didn't love and service is friendly and fast.

Boyd Stough

Truly Italian. The bread, the espresso, the meatballs, the service... Just excellent.

Helen Bourdier

OMG! This food is very delicious & super affordable. The service is fast and the fresh bread with olive oil is to die for!

Todd Benfield

Great pizza. Go to every Friday night.

Llondyn Elliott

The buffalo prawns are to die for. Amazing Black owned restaurant, be sure to pay attention to the drink names and song choices. Feels and tastes like home cooking, will have you purchasing some for home at the Merkato (show your receipt for $ off)

Kathy Gregg

Pizza was good, but the minestrone was was a disappointment and the carbonara was awful.

Cheryl Hirleman

Food was terrible. No taste to it.

Michael Laird

We ordered a Medium Pepperoni Pizza to go. It was done on time, but it was so greasy that the toppings slid off the pie in all directions. It was near impossible to eat. My kids will eat anything, but not this pizza. We will not be going back.

Craig Millner

Top-notch. Always a pleasure to dine there. Great food and atmosphere.

June Harris

Great place, going there since 1959.

Ashely Sandersan

I just really didn’t enjoy it. It was slow and the food wasn’t that spectacular.

eileen Spears

It doesn't even deserve a star. I'm sorry, I never do this, but it was terrible.

Lorna Barnes-Eads

Unfortunately, I did not share the same quality experience. The chicken marsala was not my taste. Brothy, not the wine flavor, as expected. The chicken had such an odd texture. Had me question the freshness. I could not take a 2nd bite. Unfortunately, my partner experienced very unflavorful spaghetti and meatballs. The bread served at beginning was the best ever. On target with that. The staff were so nice. Very cordial. I hated to even say anything that we didn't like it. They were very nice about our experience. They handled our ordeal in a professional way. We left feeling guilty.

Susan Kessler

Excellent service and great food!!!

Michael Kozma

Best Italian in Mt. Pleasant

Rhonda Coskrey

The service and food were excellent. But the dining area was very small felt really cramped.

Gary Tucker

The food was excellent, service was excellent. You get a lot of food at a great price. Would highly recommend.

Courtney Reynolds

The only place I could have gotten better ravioli was in Italy! The ravioli was delicious and if you like cannolis, try them here!

Michael Meleca

Nice portions and great value.

Lynn Jorgenson

Restaurant is very small and the food was good. Service was a little slow for as many people that were working. Nice little market store that sells fresh menu items to cook at home.

Mike Gandy

Good food.

William Jiles

Good Italian food for a respectable price.

Ray Trussel

The food was delicious, the staff is courteous and pleasant. And it has a nice atmosphere

John Sorensen

Great food, excellent service, nice price.

Suzanne McCrary

If you want authentic Italian food @ a great price you'll eat here. Dining at Amalfis is like going to your favorite uncles house..David the owner is always coming out from the kitchen & welcoming his patrons with a friendly smile and much appreciation while getting to know his patrons w. Light conversations @ at each table. My husband & I have never bn disappointed w. The food & staff. We eat @ Amalfis atleast once a week. David buys all of his shrimp locally from the Geechie dock.

Richard Jackson

A wonderful pizza place in N.E. Portland that fits the upscale neighbourhood and has descent prices. The food is outstanding and it has much more to offer than pizza.

John D

They can't keep food in stock. For the third time in less than two months, I tried to order and can't because their food is out of stock. I won't give them a third chance. What kind of manager lets this happen? Edit: I have just read some of the reviews here and have seen how confrontational and rude the owner is. If I had seen this before, I never would have gone here the first time. To their reply: You have the right to do whatever you wish, in response to these reviews. However, I can read and you were rude and confrontational. I've read what your customers have to say. Keep your wings and I'll keep my money.

Denise Lucas

Looked like a great place from the road. Food not good. Had the ravioli and pizza, tasted like frozen food from the grocery store. Very disappointed

Zach Dayton

The most authentic Italian food I've ever had that wasn't from home.

paul leuthold

True Italian food for real home time prices

Sky Drol

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Great prices and great food. The server was very courteous. Been here 3 times and always had a great time. Highly recommended.

Brittany Dashnaw

The best Italian food I've ever had!

Remington Powell

Been going here for years. Never disappointed

Josh Brokenbourgh

Service is top notch. I had the 3 cheese ravioli with Cabernet sauce. The pasta isn't fresh made but it's still decent.

Andy Ooten

It never gets old yummy for my tummy!!!

Wes Bishop

Hands down, the BEST crab bisque I’ve ever tasted! Always a wonderful experience at Amalfis, and would highly recommend!

Day Car

I wen't with my husband and waited for 45 minutes when there was no one in front of us. After seating us we notice there was hardly anyone sitting in the dinning area. Then two gals came in the restaurant and were seated almost instantly and offered drinks before us. They did not have a reservation. The waitress ignored us and walked past us. Will not be going there again.

Bryan Speight

Good food, fair service. Wine glasses should never stay empty.

Rick Weiss

Fun place, comfortable atmosphere, really good selection.

Polly Belt

Food was great, was there with bridal party little room upstairs got a little stuffy

Robin Kelley

Food was amazing and the service was outstanding would definitely eat here again

Josh Deane

Great authentic Italian food. We loved it

Wolfgang Sanyer

Davide is a great chef and wonderful host! My wife & I love the Shrimp & Calamari Risotto, we take it with the Tomato Basil Soup, delicious! Ciao!

Bene - TheLlamaKing

Not great but better than most anywhere else in Portland. Only had once so experience is limited to a slice, entree, and dessert. Which my mother loved because it was real tiramisu. Not the cheap knock offs. They also gave it to her for free being her first time there!

Sef Christ

Enjoyed a wonderful time in the upstairs room which had been reserved for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very well suited for a party-like setting.

Mike Smith

Good food great Italian food at a nice price.

Troy Galloway

Awesome doesnt look like much but food is excellent and service is stellar. Had a wonderful lunch for 2bfor under 30.00 including tip, soup, bread and an entree. Wish we lived close enough to make it a regular spot.

sam narduzzi

Nice atmosphere, plentiful & great tasting food.

steve fanelli

Good stuff

Yvette Hayes

Best Italian restaurant! Wonderful service. The dining room is small.

John Mullen

As always great service, phenomenal food in a great atmosphere.

Deborah Hammett

Fast service! Started out meal with the very best Wedge Salad. It was awesome. Loved it . Will have again! He had pizza which was very good. I had Chicken Parmigiana. Very enjoyable. Love this place. Great for families and friendly get togethers and diesbt break the bank.

Bailey Wilson

Great food and great service! Went with my family to celebrate a few birthdays.

Phani Vajjha

Wow. Great food! Tastes fresh. Not greasy/heavy. Super friendly staff.

Kellie LaViolette

Delicious food and very efficient. Great place to go if you have s limited amount of time for lunch.

Markay Havercroft

Great food, service and wonderful place to celebrate a birthday.

Ryan Storey

Pizza and stromboli were ok. Menu was lacking and everything came with spaghetti. Ordered appetizers; meatballs were bland and calamari had no seasoning but tasted like they looked...saturated with oil. Sent back and complained about quality but the server was so new he didn't have any answers and didn't know how to handle the situation. Nice kid though. If fact all I saw was young and inexperienced in the front of the house. Got our bill and would have expected the appetizer to come off but it didn't and no apology for the poor food. Won't be going back by choice anytime soon. Now before anyone starts judging: 1- I used to be a server in an Italian restaurant and worked in F&B. 2- I used to work only for tips and I know what that is like- my server got 20%. He did well enough but didn't have much experience. 3- This was my personal experience and my choice to tell it like it is- I am not telling anyone not to go there.

Hristomir Guenov

I come here a couple times a month. Great place and great food.

Ryan S McLaughlin

Previously had a 5-star review, but recently the service has gone downhill. Still good food, though.

Kerianne H

Service was excellent, and the food was pretty good. We went there during happy hour and almost failed to get a drink (which is required to get happy hour deals) because the print was so fine and covered by a rubberband on the happy hour menu. Staff is very knowledgeable about the menu, which should be common but I've found it isn't really, any more. Highly recommend the lemon berry mascarpone cake. Was definitely the best thing we ordered.

Rick Smith

Great food. Great prices. Great staff.

Angela Flannery

Great food & exceptional service. Owner is a really nice guy that makes sure you're satisfied with the food.

Michelle Miller

The food and atmosphere are the ONLY pluses to this restaurant. The service was painfully slow and it was no where near busy enough to be that slow. We didn't mind waiting to be seated as there were other there before us but once seated, the waitress didn't come to the table for about 20 minutes. After taking our drink and app order, we didnt get our drinks for about a half an hour and the app another 20 minutes after that. She took another 30 minutes to come back and take our food order. Took almost AN ENTIRE HOUR after this to get JUST the salad before the meal and 30 more minutes for our food. People who came in after us were already leaving with leftovers. From the time we sat down, there were a lot (and I do mean a lot) of tiny insects flying around our table the whole time. I dont appreciate having to swat bugs away INSIDE a restaurant. Spoke to a manager when our food did come finally and the plus was she apologized and comped our food and drinks and told me the main manager would call me on tuesday. It's now saturday. We went last saturday... Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is the food is actually exceptional. Extremely disappointed with the experience overall.

Gary Lytle

We are sitting here now. The bread we got was us uncooked raw in the middle. And the three tables around us who sat down and ordered after us have already eaten their meals. Before we got our food. It is good food service was a bit less then expected

Audrey Johnson

Fabulous meal, great atmosphere

Michael Strampp

Great place to eat! The service is great with very friendly staff. The food is very good and prices are very affordable!

Tom Fernandez

The lunch menu is great. The dinner menu not as much. Service was good. Despite this review, the pizza is fantastic!

David Brandt

Heavy Italian. If that's your thing, you won't be disappointed.

Christopher Mandeville

Nice local Italian place. Good food and prices not too bad. We celebrated a birthday and had a table for around 16 people. I like the area they seated us in, it was very private. The service was very good too!

Mike Perritte

Amazing food and great staff! For lunch they cannot be beat with the quality and price for the food. The food is so good you just cant stop eating it!

Jason Lamproe

My dinner was exquisite, and the lemon berry mascarpone cake for dessert was heavenly! Bravo!

Jay Beier

Love the food!

Nandi Pathefinder

It was a nice contrast to go to a fancy place for pizza week. I liked that they gave a mini pizza & not just a slice. It tasted a bit like a frozen cook at home pizza with extra bacon and a bunch of dill dressing on it. The wait was super long from ordering to getting food- like 30-45minutes. Be careful where u sit if u are out at the fire tables, I didn't enjoy being downwind of the gas.

Rich Carl

I went here with my wife and was seated quickly. We then sat there at table for over 25 minutes when there was only two tables of people in the whole restaurant. The owner was at one of those tables talking and he kept looking over at us like he didn't want us there. When the timer hit 30 minutes with no server or anything we got up and left. Will never go back. Horrible experience. Reply to owner: This was at the end of last summer, I just drove by yesterday and realized I never wrote a review. And it is possible because it did happen. I've been coming there with my family every once in a while for about to years and we've always had a pleasant experience. I know it was you because we've talked to you in the restaurant on previous occasions. It was the first time I brought my wife in and I was excited to bring her there because you guys have good food like we had in Buffalo. After letting my family know about what happened they will not be returning either.

William Fehrs

My new favorite Italian restaurant. Veal Marsala was so good, almost had a second helping - seriously!

john burton

Great service good atmosphere, and realy good food. Also not expensive at all verry good.

Jules McMillan

Great pizza.

Nigel's Landscaping Plus

I love to Frequent this place! My Wife and I use this for one of our Date Night Dinning out locations!

Bob Mullally

Amalfi's is one of our regular places to eat pizza. Service is generally good even when they're busy. The background music allows for easy conversation. The complementary bread is warm and delicious. My wife and I shared a Caesar salad that was also very good. The only shortcoming of our experience was the pizza. It was good, but not as good as our past ones. We felt like they perhaps changed the sauce. Also, the toppings weren't as abundant as in the past. It's still one of our favorite places to dine and we'll give it another chance.

Kate Benson

We love this neighborhood Italian restaurant! We came last night for a very early dinner with our 4 year old. He got the large single slice of pizza and my husband and I both got chicken parms (which I am dairy free and was still delicious without the cheese). The pizza is really good here but don't forgo trying the other dishes because they are really tasty too!

J. Shifman

Not bad. Not memorable. A nice easy place though. And great prices.

Nancy Card

Fantastic food.

TJ Larison

Love this place. Always great food.

Timo seppala

Chose to eat here after reading all the great reviews. It was a dissapointment. Definitely not a place to bring an infant. Took an hour and 45 mins from the time we sat down till we got our food. Also we ordered a seafood dish for my daughter who was really looking forward to eating it, but it was extremely spicy and the menu didn't mention any spiciness. She didn't even eat it. When I told the hostess she just said yeah it is a little spicy. Still paid fill price for an uneaten dish (which wasn't very good regardless of spice) That needs to be explained by the waiter if someone orders it. Also the plate didn't even match the description. Pizza was sub-par. Nothing to brag about, but not bad either. I will not be returning. Not extremely expensive, but not cheap either.

Brent Smith

I wrote a review on Amalfi's and it posted on the location at Folly Rd. We ate at this location. In a nutshell. Stay away. If you're looking for a good Italian place do not be swayed by good reviews nor the attacks by the owner in defense of this restaurant. The place lacks any appeal. Zero ambience. Zero smells coming from an Italian kitchen. Bread is triangular pieces of heavy, doughy bread, that would sink a duck if fed to them. The bread wasl served wth olive oil with some basalmic vinger added. We had the lasagna. Looked nothing like any lasagna that we've seen. Noodle, cheeeeese, noodle cheeeese. Spaghetti and meatballs. Pasta cooked perfect, meatballs were soft and edible, and sauce. Ahhh the sauce. It's a dead ringer for canned crushed tomatoes plopped on the plate. No herbs, spices, nothing. No smell of anything Italian. Stuffed shells. These beauties were stuffed with straight ricotta cheese and covered with melted mozz cheese. If you've never tried melted ricotta cheese it's flavorless and coats your mouth. Read my review that posted to the Folly road location. Meantime stay clear of this place. It's easily the worst restaurant to which we've been.

Riki Sade

I love this place, it is my favorite restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. My boyfriend and I eat here at least twice per week. The bread and salad are always fresh and you never wait a long time for your food. The whole staff is very friendly and attentive. We usually know what we want but my boyfriend ordered a dish that included pork once (he doesn't eat pork) and obviously wasn't happy about it but didn't want to bother the staff. Our waiter told the manager and she came immediately and removed it from the check without us asking. Every visit we have, if the owner is there, he is walking around greeting his guests and making sure they are enjoying their meal. If anyone gives this place a poor rating, they must've been in a bad mood because Amalfi's never serves poor dishes. And if you are not satisfied, one of the staff, if not the owner, will fix it immediately.

Cyndy Cleveland

Amalfis is our go to place for a quick lunch or when we have guests and family visiting. It is convenient, the staff and the owner Davide are wonderful,. Occasionally a new cook or server might not have something spot on but most times it is excellent. Having been part of a family owned restaurant we appreciate the owner and his staff. Some of the reviews complained about one particular server or wait. I would always go back to a place who has a wait, I would think their food must be excellent to be that busy! As far as service,, we have never had a huge issue.. .if we ever have poor service it would be reflected by the tip not an insult to the restaurant.

Sherry Brown

Favorite family place. Such a great selection of fantastic Italian foods. The atmosphere is quaint and the lobby has a shopping experience of gifts. Just a plain fun place to go and the outdoor seating is excellent as well. Best to make reservations if you have a large party.

Marco Russo

Great neighborhood Italian. Authentic and always delicious. Owner, Davide is Italian from Naples Italy. Great and friendly.

Hilary Wilcox

I enjoyed the atmosphere of Amalfi's, the decor was pretty nice. I went there with my boyfriend and we sat in the bar area. They have cool looking tables that are barrels with a round piece of glass on top. We sat at this first but quickly realized that they were kinda awkward to sit at since there was no where to put your legs, granted we are both 6'+, I imagine shorter people would have the same problem. We moved to a table in the bar and that worked great. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I would say it's a middle ground between olive garden and a nice/expensive Italian restaurant. I got the ravioli and which came with garlic bread and while it didn't wow me, I still enjoyed it. I realize I didn't order anything special, so this also doesn't surprise me. They had a decent pizza selection which seemed to be more of the focus. This seemed like a family friendly place by the looks of it. I won't go out of my way to go back again, but I wouldn't not eat here again either, it was enjoyable.

Nancy Thomas

It has great food! A great cook Irving and a server Emily that is going to give me my 1st Greatgrandchild.

Mary Krcelic

Best Italian food in Charleston

Joe Gutierrez

Great food, affordable

dere nium

Always had great food but I stopped coming here about 2 years ago because the service sucks, mainly takeout. So I decided to give em another chance tonight but it’s still the same! Service terrible ordered my food they said 15-20 minutes, I showed up in 30 minutes and still waited another 15 for my food. No sorry no comp just mediocrity. So if they say your food will be ready in 15....go in 45!

Amanda Bethel

Best alfredo I have ever had!

Sean John

Sarah, our waitress, was very impressive. The bread is Outstanding , but the overall experience was very enjoyable. My husband and I give them 5 stars!! We WILL definitely return the next time we visit Charleston.

Ian Ouellette

Deliscious, authentic Italian. Homemade breads baked daily. Amazing food and top-notch service.

Jason Freeman

Been here many times! Great Italian dinners, drinks and desserts. One of my favorite places to get pizza as well. They have a nice bar area with plenty of seats and some fireplaces. Place gets pretty busy on weekends and parking is limited.

Kinsey Knight

Normally go to the JI location but went to Mt P tonight. Always impressed with the friendly staff, prompt service and delicious food. It’s hard to find a quality dinner in the Charleston area for under $15, but I can do this here every time! Do yourself a favor and get the tomato bisque soup and ask for an extra roll to wipe the bowl clean!

Frederic Woodbridge

This was an excellent experience for the family. I got the standard by which I judge all Italian restaurants: spaghetti and meatballs, and I have to say it was delicious! There's a reason why they've been in business since 1959. Worth multiple revisits.

Marcus Chalfant

Mike was our server and he did a great job. He was attentive without being bothersome. We had 5 people and they accommodated us immediately. I had Tortellini...awesome! Wife had Spaghetti...awesome! Buddy had Chicken Parmesan...awesome! His wife had Chicken Picatta...awesome. Son had great meal too. Deserts were cannoli and they were good. Price was about $22 per person inclusive. Great food, great service, easy location, good value.

V M

I've been going here for over 30 years, my parents went here when they were younger, this is a staple for our family. Although they have great pasta dishes, we come solely for the pizza. The crust and sauce are our families' favorite. We have spent many, many birthdays here, had celebration dinners for different occasions, and gone over (we live across the river) just to satisfy cravings. My number one pic is half canadian bacon, american bacon and fresh tomato, and half combo w/ side of pepperoncinis. Great service every time. They have a really neat little market in the middle of the restaurant with unique gadgets, food to go, and unusual drinks. Although we can find good pizza elsewhere and closer to home, there is nothing like Amalfi's for us.

McKinley Allen

Pretty yummy, but small serving sizes in my opinion. It's good but not worth the hype good, I wasn't fond of the atmosphere personally.

Frank Eaton

Food and service both excellent but the premises leave much to be desired. Napkins and straw wrappers under the tables, table loose and wobbly, bathroom not clean. But I would go again just for the food!

Jeffrey Scott

So great!

Debra Martin

Excellent italian food! Generous servings. Pleasant staff, friendly. Popular with locals and tourists in the know.

hilarie miller

Had diner last night at Amalfi's. Waitress was very pleasant but not skilled. Took our order for drinks and dinner all at once and probably put the whole order in immediately. When the salad came we were told our dinners were ready but of course we weren't. During the delay, the Spaghetti Carbonara sauce broke down badly but even so was not hot, the Ravioli Chicken Pesto was luke warm. We were served the spumante which we would have enjoyed with coffee but the coffee never arrived until too late... What could have been a tasty meal was only mediocre unfortunately

Paul Pierce

Good solid old fashioned Italian food in a newly remodeled but feels like it's been there a long time space. Dark and quiet for Portland, it's a comfortable place to enjoy a leisurely meal.

Theron Sandy II

Always delicious!

Lamarr Slider

The pizza here is among the best ever! Quality toppings, excellent crust, good service, always a great meal!

James Horvath

Best Italian in Charleston.

Gloria Smejkal

Incredible Italian sausage!

Dan Percich

Always a favorite spot for me, my family, my friends and my Best gal. We have been going to Amalfi's since the mid-to-late 1960s. Yes I am dating ourselves however, the quality and the exceptional pizzas AR unmistakable. The quality and service remains today. Carry on Amalfi's

Robin Engel

Great food. Basic, Italian food. Lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs. Reasonably priced. A good red sauce. Plenty of food. Comfortable ambiance. Good service.

R S

Relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Common Italian menu items. Would recommend.

Elaina Smith

Amalfi’s was absolutely delicious! The homemade bread with olive oil was amazing. I had a Caesar salad and bruschetta. They were both made with fresh ingredients and had great flavor! My husband had the spaghetti with spicy sausage. He’s a very picky eater and said it’s the best spaghetti sauce he’s ever had. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great! Thank you for an authentic Italian meal. We will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends!

Jared Nix

Hidden gem of Mount pleasant. Don't let the small interior fool you. Place has fantastic pasta, chicken, non traditional dishes and a great beer selection.

Tracy Cook

Came for a pick up order.. love this place, food is wonderful, service today... not so much. The gal running carry out orders seemed very put off, short in attitude and was not helpful bagging the food to go. Hopefully next time is better.

Esther Namelles

Great food, great service. This is it for Italian food, as far as we are concerned.

Angela Brigmon

The food and service was excellent!

Shark Man

This place is truly amazing, it's busy so go at a decent time, or around 8:00pm, the food is by far the best and my fav is CARBONARA ALFREDO, you will not leave hungry, the drinks are top notch as well
