1/3 lb ground beef, stuffed with brisket, topped with cheddar and chatted onions.... brisket was dry and pulled my burger apart. Hand cut fries were good, for the pieces that were edible. Had to send that back and just get a regular burger, which was fine. Grilled cheese and onions rings won my company over.

This is the worst place to have any venue. I had reservations and arrived in time and they told me they could not find my reservation. I had called the day of the show and confirmed my reservation and it was confirmed They refused to refund my money. I will NEVER be back to this place.

Very classy bar and restaurant friendly staff, amazing food, try the grilled cheese sandwich it's to die for! Not overly priced, great atmosphere, amazing retro styling immediately makes you feel like you stepped back in time... staff seemed to be on top of it from the start... no it's time to visit this place at night and see what the night life is like... I could only imagine it is more of the same quality and service. also you gotta try the chili their vegetarian chili is amazing!

I've been coming to VZDs off and on for a number of years. Food used to be pretty good for pub grub. This visit was not so good. Hamburger was overcooked and had a very old aroma. The chips were way past their prime. The waiter offered to bring me fries instead but I didn't want to wait around. On the plus side the wait staff is friendly and the beer is good and cold! And as always, VZDs is just a nice place to hang out. I really hope they can improve their food quality.

As it has for years.....VZD’s is a pleasant place to stop in for an excellent dining experience. My husband and I made it a regular stop 25 years ago and I stopped in a few days ago with my granddaughter. That club sandwich is even better than it was 25 years ago and my granddaughter loved her chicken strips and fries. The wait staff are excellent.

The most normal place in town. 5 star edit - 8/23/19:Did this place change ownership last week? I have been going here at least 4x a month for 8 years and tonight was incredibly off. VZDs has never been great but it's the most normal place in my vicinity and we just like it for some reason. We missed going last week at all but went tonight and it was terrible. The menu changed, the entire staff seemed to turn over and for some reason they are now selling hats??? The whole place had an odd vibe, club music playing and the staff didn't even know the menu was missing items that have been on since the last change. Took 2 hours to get through dinner and there were only 5 or less tables.

We have frequented this place for a while and recently it has gone way downhill. The experience I had on Monday is the last of a series of bad experiences. My wife and I went in Monday night for dinner. The staff was very unknowledgable about the beer menu. My wife ordered Pad Thai which she enjoyed. I got the Indian Taco which I have had previously and really enjoyed. Not this time. What was served to me was a burnt piece of frybread with some sour cream and lettuce and charred black meat that smelled funny. I took 1 bite and was disgusted by the taste. Definitely not cumin beef as the menu stated, it was more like an old patty of beef that was burnt black on the grill, chopped up and put on top of the frybread. I told the waitress. She did apologize and offer me something else. I declined as the beef made my stomach feel sick. No manager table visit. In fact the waitress did not come back until it was obvious we were ready to go. I don't blame the cook or the waitress. I do blame management for not even bothering to come by and say sorry. Your staff is only as good as your management is. Inconsistent management leads to inconsistent products and services. Poor management will be the end of this place.

Since VZDs reopened, the mgmt/ownership has done a wonderful job revamping the space and the menu/food quality is outstanding. VZDs also has a great Pacific NW vibe to it, as well.

Excellent service and food. Historic location that was originally an old school drug store. Also know for featuring the "Red Hot Chili Peppers" and "Faith No More" VZD's is a great place to come here live music on the weekends. VCD's is also in the same building as OKC's best CBD store so check that out too.

$10 cover charge for entertainment that was supposed to begin at 8pm and didn't start until 9:15pm. It might have been an off night but I don't think anyone should charge a cover if you're going to eat and drink at an establishment that postpones their band due to no customers.(spent $140.00 + $30 cover charge & listened to 2 songs

I saw the Devon Allman project here, this place has excellent food and beer but the room is entirely too small to have anyone more than a person with an acoustic guitar. They accommodated me with a front row table and the show was excellent. It's just a little small and too loud for that big of a show there. I would highly recommend.

VZD's is an icon of North western ave. Located in a popular food, club, entertainment area. Awesome French fries, adult beverages, sandwiches, live entertainment on weekends. We attended the British envation group playing music from the '60's. The drummer, Bobby is one of my class mates. Friendly, attentive service. Parking can sometimes be found just to the north of the building.

Ordered the John Wayne burger to go which is $15. It's a burger stuffed with brisket, grilled onions, BBQ sauce and cheddar with home made chips. The burger was raw on the inside. Not rare. Raw. Mushy and cold like the brisket, which was missing BBQ sauce. Seriously think it came out of the fridge. The chips were nasty as well. The only taste they had was not pleasant. Massively disgusting and overpriced experience. Would rather get a Tuckers Burger for the price.

Had dinner tonite. It was the worst meal in have had in my 60 years in OKC. It took almost thirty minutes to get a Rubin, hamburger and grilled cheese. Ordered a Rubin which I thought was over priced at $14.00. The meat was some type of hot dog which was which sliced and burnt. The grilled cheese was not grilled just bread and cheese. The hamburger was cooked to death. Onion rings were burnt. I was told the food had some problems but I didn’t believe it. I have eaten there a number times over the years. Never again.

RUN!!! Horrible Experience!! My wife, son and I went there today for lunch and ordered (2) Chicken Fried Chk's and the mashed / gravy was "ice cold". Had to ask our server several times to refill our drinks and they weren't even busy!! Also the bartender was paying way too much attention / visiting to the two guys at the end of the bar (westside) which looked unprofessional. WAAAAAY to much breading on the Onion Rings and Chk..Please go somewhere else, no kinding!! The bathroom photos had a HUGE amount of dust on the picture frames.. The restaurant had a weird unfriendly feel to it, needs a GOOD deep cleaning!!!!

Went to christmas performance Saturday evening and show was just amazing !! however the place was soooooo cold we were miserable the entire show. Kept hoping that because we weren't the only ones around us complaining they would turn the heat on but it continued to be cold. Love the atmosphere , just wont be back for any winter performances .

The place was very nice. My friend and I ordered lobster Mac n Cheese and The Gene Autry brisket Sandwich. Neither tasted good. The lobster wasn’t fresh, it had a “fishy” taste. The sandwich was NOT brisket. It was dry pot roast mixed with ground beef. We didn’t even eat half the food. The waitress asked us as soon as we got the food if everything was OK. From looks everything looked fine. But she never asked again. So when I asked how the sandwich was made, that’s when she told me they use a slow cooker for the “brisket” and then mix it with the ground beef. The “brisket” was cold and the ground beef was warm. She never asked again if it was good even when we inquired about how the food was made. The staff is friendly but the food is horrible. We went here on our lunch break. I was still hungry when I left, I ate a few fries and 2 bites out of the sandwich. Wasn’t a good food experience so we won’t be back.

Only thing is, with the place full as it was last night and apparently is with the rest of the quality entertainment they have, it does get uncomfortably warm so dress cool. As a music venue, this place sucks. Far too small.....table space for about 50 people. I made reservations and they "lost" them although I confirmed them twice. Pick Belle Isle Brewery or another venue before considering this one. Food is good but even for a restaurant the place is cramped.

Used to be at 5 plus but man... How can I place fall off so much so fast. Food is ultra Ultra average. Never was Perfection but now the salads are... Well not nearly as enjoyable as used to be. I'm sure the owners are tired of hearing but I hope they take because it's meant in the best possible way. Not as a slap in the face but hope that things will get back on track. Generations grew up here so the new owners have quite a responsibility. The best of luck man because it can be tough to live up to Old expectations. Take the suggestions to heart as much as you can and don't be defensive. No one was trying to offend you.

First visit after reopening. It's cleaner. Bathrooms remodeled (badly needed). Food is more expensive and was disappointing. The patty on my burger was much smaller than the bun, and I got a bunch of chip crumbs with it. Okra appetizer (previously a huge draw) was about 1/2 portion compared to previous but did have a few whole pods thrown in (slow clap), and cost $8. Not worth it.

We were disappointed in the food. Burger was dry. Fish burnt. Nachos cold. And Chicken Wings were made from legs. Martini was very good but got about 2 oz for 14.00 bucks. Lastly watched the cook taking shots behind the bar. Liked the atmosphere wish food were better.

food was below average. onion rings were cold. didn't care for their own house bloody mary mix but the absolute WORST part was the volume of the band. it was obscenely loud! not one bit enjoyable which is sad because they played good music and were decent. plus they started 45 minutes early so our visit with friends was cut short. won't be my first next time. plus... wait staff is super nice!
